      "body": "I don't think that evolution has any other goal rather than survival. I don't think that evolution 'thinks' at all- it is just a process.  And personally, I think we can solve most of the problems through our current system. The climate isn't changing that fast and as soon as the changes in climate will start to have a tangible effect on the world economy you can rest asssured that changes will be made, yes, out of self-interest. Famine won't be a problem because of GMOs soon. I know a lot of people don't like them but that's true. Population in the developed world is actually  decreasing and propped up by mass immigration, soon the rest of the world will follow.  Actually I think rather than natural resource depletion the ageing population and demographics changes will be a much much bigger problem causing civil unrest and are actually in fact already causing civil unrest (brexit, the American election, the polish election, the recent german election). I am also very worried about the situation in the middle east (especially as the world economy has become less dependent on their oil thanks to fracking), the prospect of a socialist government here in the UK that could destroy the British economy is chilling in itself. So yes, I do think the problem is political and the solution will be also. Remember that despite our selfishness, we do live for the sake of others. \n\nAs Adam Smith put it 'It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages.'",

      "body": "In the UK we are currently voting in a General Election for a new government. I say \"new\", but a lot of people are still voting for the old government, despite their terrible record (don't get me started on that). I don't really want to get into the nitty gritty of the candidates and their policies but for those who don't know I'll do a simple summary.\n\nJeremy Corbyn: Left wing socialist, campaign based on fighting for equality, human rights and an end to war.\nTheresa May: Right wing captalist, campaign based on making Jeremy Corbyn look bad. Policies are just about austerity.\n\nhttp://i2.wp.com/eaworldview.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/UK-GENERAL-ELECTION-2017.jpg?resize=660%2C371\n\nMaybe an oversimplification, but as I said, I don't want to get into the details. The question I want to ask is, can Jeremy Corbyn (the challenger as it were) really change things, despite being very contrasted to his counterpart in terms of ideology and policy proposals? Let's look at some factors which are completely out of his control but will have more effects on the lives of the people living in the UK.\n\n**The Banks**\nThe banks are the things that set the interest rates. Even if the national rate, set by the Bank of England is changed by a fraction of a percent it would have a huge impact on lending, borrowing, markets, imports, exports and prices of common goods. It is not impossible to imagine that with a socialist government in power, the BoE might change the rates to counteract any benefits afforded to the working class.\n\n**Brexit**\nSimilarly, the decisions made by the EU would arguably have a much bigger affect on the things mentioned above. Yes it's true that those decisions will be based on who is in power, and their negotiating skills and strategy, but ultimately they will be making decisions that best benefit the EU and worst affect us. If the Conservatives get in, they will probably make a deal which is bad for the working/middle class in order to get benefits for the rich. If Labour gets in, the EU will probably give them a harsher deal, which ends up being worse for the working/middle class.\n\n**Trump**\nI hate to even have to mention this guy, but sadly the events in the US too have a great impact on the UK. This coupled with what happens in Brexit will have a bigger effect than any free school breakfasts (a campaign pledge in Labours manifesto for those that don't know).\n\n**The Light**\nAs well as these negative things, there are also positive things which have nothing to do with politics that can have a bigger effect than policies. Take the blockchain for instance; if the UK takes the initiative to become a world leader in blockchain technology, we could all prosper without the help of government. I could write a whole other article on what anarchism could do for us, in fact I have already written several (follow me if you like that kinda stuff), but in many respects the government is already redundant, it's just up for the people to take their heads out of the sand and work together for a better world.\n\nLike what should have happened in the US election, maybe we should think not just about ourselves, but the wider world. For example Labour's foreign policy could have a big effect on the situation in the Middle East, but sadly I feel like banks will always win the day in that regard.       "body": "I feel that what makes music impact people is dynamics, and the ability of the composer to share his state of mind (how he felt when he wrote the piece). It is a method of communication that doesn't necessarily require words. But, you are right that each person perceives the message differently. However, dynamics and articulation relay one common theme. For example, if I played each note of the 1st movement of the Moonlight Sonata loud and staccato rather than soft and legato at the exact same tempo, would it have the same mysterious (not necessarily sad) sound? Probably not. Music is impactful at the will of both the composer and the performer. Don't get me wrong, how the audience perceives it is also crucial, but I think that everyone gets similar feelings, they just interpret them differently.
