Some of these issues may be normal experiences of human beings while some occur suddenly or unexpectedly. Whether usual or unusual, many of these issues of life require decisions, actions to be made. It is at such moments that the limitations of man's knowledge becomes evident. Certainly the knowledge of man is grossly limited concerning the past, present and future of both himself and the situation around him.\n\n\n**WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO INQUIRE FROM THE LORD? (Num. 27:5)**\n\n![images (2).png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUgHTGWEkAdShA1kdWQvc5kFr82oTDTHHuBiee82R377g/images%20(2).png)\n\nThe word inquire as defined in the dictionary means to ask someone for information. On arriving a city, a traveller may inquire or seek information from people as regards how he can get to his destination. A student in class may seek to know from his teacher the proper books he may need so as to excel in his study.\nHowever there are some issues of life for which answers may not be readily available. Also in some of such situations answers based on man's knowledge become inadequate and at times complicate matters when followed.\nThe believer is therefore expected to cultivate the habit of inquiring from the Lord in all situation of life, inclusive of matters we consider or complex as humans. It is good for us to know his mind and follow it.\n\nTherefore to inquire from the Lord means asking the Lord for direction on what to do in a particular situation. It involves seeking information from him concerning a particular situation.\n\n\n\n### HOW DO WE INQUIRE FROM THE LORD?\n\nSome of the ways we may inquire from the lord  include.\n\n**1.Studying the word of God**\n\n![images (23).jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmNMUZaByf8YsrqCRggTXMPMu3ZUBKqMqgz4w3dU2ECaWY/images%20(23).jpg)\n\nGod's mind is revealed in his word , the holy bible. In 2 Tim. 3:16-17, it says that \"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrines, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works\". As we search the scriptures, we will find guidance on matters relating to general issues of life and our christian practice.\n\n\n**2.Communion with God in prayers**\n\n![images (19).jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmNiJXiUVSkzyLjVBxYgh91TtAQ81Ceoxv3jsRuYQzwQw1/images%20(19).jpg)\n\nPrayer is meant to be a two way communication between God and the believer. In prayer we speak to God and he speaks to us. A major benefit of the presence of the holy spirit with us in that he will teach and guide us into all truth and will bring to our remembrance all that the lord said.\n\n\n**4.Attending christian meetings/fellowships**\n\n\n![images (24).jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmP2mBq22hiuH5FSdj5m5rdjRMaSv4zrDidMemss59WjtE/images%20(24).jpg)\n\nThe meetings or fellowship been prescribed or referred to here are not the common \" ego-boosting\" gatherings today in which leaders promote themselves and their families. Experienced believers may be able to give counsels that are in line with the word of God to others and by so doing guide people in the way and will of the Lord.\n\n\n\n### WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR THE BELIEVERS TO INQUIRE FROM THE LORD?\n\nWhen an individual becomes a christian, his life is totally surrendered to the Lord Jesus. The implication is that he makes Christ his example as he lives in this world. Truly we become sons of the FATHER and equally true also in the fact that we become slaves of the MASTER. When we inquire from him, such conflicts will be avoided.\n\n\n\n### WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF INQUIRING FROM THE LORD?\n\nThere are many benefits that follow when we sincerely inquire from the lord, seek his counsel and allow him work out his will in our lives. Some of these benefits are:\n\n- Peace (Isa. 26:3)\n - Joy\n- Personal satisfaction from doing God's will.\n- Success and victory.\n- Guidance on life issues.\n\n\nSo the believer ought to cultivate the habit of inquiring from the lord in all issues of life. Other people don’t care about the question, believing it doesn’t matter one way or another. So we might say that everyone has a religious faith. But most people believe in God. Why? Because, as the Bible says,\n\n*“… since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).*\n\nBelief in God makes sense, in large part, because of the evidence all around us. There are certain factors such as faith and prayers which we must possess or do if we are to successfully believe God for something. However, there are also some attributes that we must not entertain, as they will hinder us from successfully believing God for something. A continual trust and dependence on His goodness, willingness and ability to always act on our behalf demoonstrate our commitment to God as Lord and Saviour. Some of these are fulfilled naturally and require very little or no effort in their actualization. However, life is full of uncertainties, difficulties and failures. The believer has additional hindrance as he has an enemy whose sole interest is to frustrate the actualization of his desires, needs and aspirations.\n\nThe believer's life should be enveloped in God as Paul puts in Acts 17:28\n\n> For in Him we live and move and have our being...\"\n\nThis illustrates the fact that the believer should depend upon God for his satisfaction of his needs and desires. They also help us to keep on believing because God has said in His word that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Positive confession is a good weapon against doubt, discouragement and apathy. It is no doubt wishful thinking but an exercise of faith. Positive confessoin should be based on the word of God.\n\n\n- **Holy Living**: Our lifestyle defines the level of our relationship with God. God is holy and thus, only holy people can approach Him without guilt. Holy living gives us the confidence that we are right with God and as such we still enjoy His favour. Consequently, we are sure that when we call on Him, He will hear us and perform that which we desire of Him.\n\n- **HardWork**: The scripture teaches that God will bless the labour of our hands, Believers are encouraged to be diligent and it brings blessings and rewards. Believing God for something does not mean that one should fold his hands in idleness. It is the seed we sow in hard work that God will use to fulfil our aspirations. These promises are to be actualized by the believer through simple faith in God. Let us break the shackles of unbelief from our lives and believe Him for breakthrough in every area of our lives no matter how difficult or insignificant.",
