I did not take it. I went to this great resource called Unsplash and got it from there. This image might be the one thing that has grabbed your attention so the least I can do for the person who took it is link to them.\nThat is rule number one.\n\n Plagiarism - is what you do when you decide to copy and paste someone else's words (literally or word for word) but even if you alter the text if it is not your idea and you use it without giving credit to the original creator that is not good and you've been a bad boy or girl; and it is actually a form of fraud. \n\nBut don't worry! Obviously get inspiration from others or do your research and share freely what you found out - when you form an idea or have an opinion on something, your thoughts don't just exist in a vacuum - they were based on information you learned or read - the important thing is that you **always share and give credit** where it is due.\n \nLook at the below example.\n\nI recently shared a post here on Steemit where I wrote about this project and company I find very inspiring called fetch.ai \n>\"Fetch.ai is building an open access, tokenized, decentralized machine learning network to enable smart infrastructure built around a decentralized digital economy.&quot; <sup><a href=\"https://fetch.ai/\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"This link will take you away from steemit.com\">Source</a></sup></p>\n</blockquote>\n\nYou see what I did there? I quoted their website from where I learned what they do. You will see a lot of different ways I reference my sources.\n\nWhy is this important? For one, **we are in part here because we believe in a better internet and believe in rewarding creators** for their effort. Plagiarism is really the opposite of this cause and taken very seriously here on Steemit. Have you heard of the \"Proof of Brain\" concept? In short straight from the Steem bluepaper:\n>\"Token systems that reward users as they contribute to a token-based community system require mechanisms for establishing and evaluating content’s social value.&quot; <sup><a href=\"https://steem.com/steem-bluepaper.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"This link will take you away from steemit.com\">Source</a></sup></p>\n</blockquote>\n\nThere are members / teams on this platform who try to ensure that these rules and best practices are adhered to and users don't spam or steal from others. \n\nI personally believe that as long as you do your best to cite all your sources you'll be fine, because obviously to some extent it is impossible to separate out your own ideas from ideas sparked by your friends, books you read or videos you watched; moreover language is formulaic - words do occur in the same order together frequently, think idioms, common knowledge, etc... Patchwriting is another reason why sourcing can be a complex task - but again just make sure in one way or another you DO list your sources and give credit where it is due.\n\nBesides plagiarism I've learned the many other social rules we all need to follow on this platform in order for this place to be a friendly, supportive and inspiring environment.\n\nThe ones that stood out for me over all others are the following: \"Don't post and run\" (make sure to curate, comment, participate);  \"Stop spamming\" (this one is obvious); \"Respect others privacy\"; \"Respect for others work and keep an open mind\".\n\n**I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them**\n\nThank you for reading and keep on Steeming",

Have a cold wallet for your keys... what? E.A.Z.Y.\ncold ~ physical storage with no internet connection\nhot   ~ on a device with internet connection / online \n\nYou have a few options:\n1. simply write down you keys on a piece of paper - put it in a fire and water proof safe in your home next to your most important valuables - you don't want to lose all those **STEEM DOLLARS**\n2. Cold wallet - a bit more sophisticated - something like [Ledger Nano X](https://shop.ledger.com/products/ledger-nano-x)\n\nAnother important thing to note is that it is a very good idea to go for more than 1 option - in case one fails and you lose it or one gets damaged.\n\nI personally do both. That was a little more successful; although having low expectations was my secret to feeling the success - you just have to set them low enough.\n\nIn terms of crypto - I believe in projects where the underlying value solves significant problems - and just like Elon said: “You get paid in direct proportion to the difficulty of problems you solve”. So I have been consistently investing for the long run in some blockchain projects like Fetch.ai $FET or Cardano $ADA - but I also like to just hold about 10-15% of my crypto investments in Bitcoin. \n\nI mentioned earlier I am a programmer but it wasn't always that way - I am a self taught developer who loves it passionately and spends most of his time tinkering with different projects and buying Udemy courses - obviously not actually using them just collecting them like Pokemon cards - that feeling... if you know you know.\nPHP (Zend, Laravel), React (Next.js), JS and the good old HTML and CSS and a little knowledge of databases are my bread winners.\n\nBut don't worry despite our opposing views on crypto I still carve out some time for my wife and family as well - most of the time.\n\nI am also super hyped on environmental issues - in particular tackling them - and strongly dislike anti-nature behaviour. Like littering.\n\nHere on @Steemit though - I am looking to share and learn about the crypto world - gain a deeper understanding and pick up new skills for the web 3.0 era.
