| body | Pic Source: [https://news.err.ee/109649/estonia-increasingly-becoming-an-overweight-nation] As I have stated above, this whole text that I would be talking about would be based on that. However, it could also apply to your family members who are going through the same thing. The ways that I am about to share are not facts or information that I have gained from any research by a group of professors or educators. This is all based on my own experiences and feelings. So, this article (or whatever this is) may be biased and not accurate. I would like all of you to know that before reading this. I am sure that all of us have that one friend who is overweight, but they look like they do not care about how they look and did no put effort into trying to lose weight. Believe me when I tell you this. We, overweight people, know more than anyone else that we have to change our lifestyle. We could make an excuse that it would be for the sake of health but for sure, a huge reason for it is also because of the opinions of other people. It is common for those who are overweight to be insecure about their weight and how they look. Some of us are even in denial of the condition of our own bodies. We act as if we do not care about how we look and there is no need to change it. Some of us try to fool ourselves, telling ourselves that we do not need to change for the sake of looking good in people’s eyes and we do not care what people think about us. However, at the end of the day, people’s opinions still matter. So, a lot of us would attempt losing weight discreetly. There are a few things that you can and cannot do when you have an insecure friend who is trying to lose weight. One of the things that they would probably start with when they want to lose weight is skipping meals and dinner. When you notice your friend is doing this, you do not ask them if they are going on a diet. Why do you think they do not declare the moment they decided to go on a diet? Why do you think they started doing it quietly without letting anyone know? By asking that forbidden question, you would only make them upset. Normally, when you declare that you are going on a diet, expectations would be put on you. People would expect changes in you after for some time. Knowing this, some would choose an unhealthy diet plan such as not eating at all to meet the expectations. For those who are not able to meet the expectations, they would only be discouraged. As I said, this may not be the same with everyone but it is better to be careful. For some of us, asking if we are going on a diet is offensive. It is worst if you are asking that taboo question in a joking manner. It would appear as if you are making fun of them in their attempt to lose weight. In another scenario, if your friend does inform you that they are going on a diet and is trying to lose weight, support them. Losing weight is not a simple matter. There are a lot of things that they have to change in their daily lives and that is definitely not easy. Therefore, if they told you that they were on a diet but you did not see any changes even after for some time, do not ask questions such as, “You said you were on a diet. So, why did I see no changes in you?”. That type of question would only crush their resolve and courage to change. In some cases, they would give up on trying to change because they believe that it is meaningless and that is not what we are trying to do as friends. If they do not have any changes, you could start by recommending some healthy foods that they can eat to help them with their diet plan. Do not mention anything about their appearance. However, if they do succeed in losing some weight, feel free to compliment them because that would boost their courage to work harder. If you are trying to help your friend who is trying to diet, you could start by introducing good eating habits. Of course, you have to make a good approach too in this kind of situation. For those who are insecure, any topics that would involve their weight is sensitive. Therefore, if you want to bring up topics about eating habits, make sure to bring it out naturally. Imagine that you are talking to one of your friends that is not overweight. You have to be careful to not mention their weight. Talk about it as if it was just another random topic. Normally, your friend would be interested and eventually be immersed in the topic and you might notice that they would probably even follow the tips that you have mentioned. If you want to invite them together to do an exercise, you have to be careful with how you invite them as well. If there is more than one person in the room including your friend, try inviting everyone. Do not specifically invite your overweight friends because that would make it seem as if you’re telling them to slim down right to their faces. I remind you again, overweight people, they know more than anyone that they should be losing weight. So, try to be more smooth and natural with the invitation. Moreover, if there are a lot of people going, surely your friend would be more motivated and excited to join. These are just a few out of the many matters that you need to consider. I know it may sound like a pain since you need to be very observant and careful with your wording. However, for those who really want to support and help your friends, this is the least you could do. All of these can be simplified as “be considerate of your friends’ feelings”. Whether or not this is helpful, I just wanted to share this. As I have said in the beginning, these are merely from my own experiences and it is not based on research or anything. Surely, there would be some things that you would think are not accurate but for those that can be applied, I hope it could help even if just a little. Thank you for spending your time reading this messy writing of mine. |

It would appear as if you are making fun of them in their attempt to lose weight.\n\nIn another scenario, if your friend does inform you that they are going on a diet and is trying to lose weight, support them. However, if they do succeed in losing some weight, feel free to compliment them because that would boost their courage to work harder.\n\nIf you are trying to help your friend who is trying to diet, you could start by introducing good eating habits. Moreover, if there are a lot of people going, surely your friend would be more motivated and excited to join.\n\nThese are just a few out of the many matters that you need to consider. Surely, there would be some things that you would think are not accurate but for those that can be applied, I hope it could help even if just a little.\n\nThank you for spending your time reading this messy writing of mine.",

| body | [image source](https://ideascale.com/impact-of-stress-on-innovation/) There are a lot of people that took stress as a minor thing. Stress itself is not that problematic but if continuously ignored, it can turn into chronic stress which is a problem. People tend to overlook the effects that chronic stress put on their brain which later caused severe illnesses. Therefore, it is important for people to be aware of what would happen to their brains if they were to have chronic stress. One of the effects of chronic stress on the human’s brain is the inability of the brain to learn. When an individual has chronic stress, they would not be able to focus on learning or memorize new information. According to the first article I have read which is from Reader’s Digest Canada, Neural Stem Cells which later developed into neurons is important for learning and memory. When one is under chronic stress, the neurons would be coated in myelin and become oligodendrocytes. The excess myelin will disturb the balance of communication and timing within the brain’s circuitry. This would change how the neurons connect with each other and affect one’s cognitive function (Hiss, K., n.d.). Other than that, another effect of chronic stress is a higher risk of depression. Chronic stress can prevent the birth of new neurons in the hippocampus and decreased the ability of the brain to handle stressful events. This caused the decrease of hippocampal volume which could lead to depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (Lupien et al., 2018). Besides that, chronic stress causes a higher risk of getting a stroke. People who are stressed usually emotionally unstable where they would be more short-tempered, impatient and aggressive. That kind of person would have a higher risk of getting stroke than those who are calm and patient. Stress could cause stroke because every time people get stressed, it would elevate the stress hormone which is called cortisol. This hormone caused the blood pressure to increase and this is one of the factors why stroke happens. High blood pressure could cause extra pressure on the arteries in the brain which could lead to hemorrhagic stroke (Can Stress Cause a Stroke? 2019). Last but not least, chronic stress could cause a human’s brain to shrink. It sounds almost laughable and people would usually wonder if the human’s brain could actually shrink. The answer is yes. According to Hiss, K. from Reader’s Digest Canada (n. d.), this matter is caused by devastating events that could lead to anxiety such as divorce, death of loved ones and loss of home. Such an event could reduce the grey matter in parts of the medial prefrontal cortex. This part is in charge of self-control and emotions. All of these effects are usually overlooked and are unknown to people since stress is usually treated as a trivial thing. However, what it can cause is not trivial. Therefore, it is important to know what effect stress would cause on our brain and learn how to manage it. References Can Stress Cause a Stroke? | body | [image source](https://www.edutopia.org/blog/new-teachers-how-develop-look-rebecca-alber) As we all know, teaching is a stressful job and it is not any easier compared to other occupations. If there are people that think being a teacher is easy because all you have to do is teach students and make sure they understand. They have a wrong understanding of what a teacher really is. As a teacher, they have to be able to become an impact and influences ones’ life – which is far from easy. A lot of teachers all around the world claimed that this profession is underpaid and underappreciated. According to Jones (n. d. ), the teacher is listed as the most underpaid job that deserves higher pay. Teachers should be paid more because they are the ones that provide quality education. There would not be any doctors or engineers without a teacher. Teachers work hard to teach students from education based on their syllabus to life lessons that could be applied once they are out of school. Students' knowledge about the outside world, the reality of the world nowadays as well as the norms are all taught in school by the teachers. Therefore, teaching is a very important profession and it should be appreciated more. Other than that, teachers should be paid more because teaching is a very stressful job. Teachers would have to come up with a lot of fun educational projects and activities in class as well to make sure the students understand and enjoy the lesson. This would usually cause them to work outside of school time and sacrificed their holiday or break. The teachers took the job of a parent whenever they are in school. They are the ones that will have to discipline and counsel their students when their grades dropped or when they have a discipline problem. Taking care of one or two children is hard enough and it is even harder when there are 20 or more children under a teacher’s supervision. Moreover, most of the students might not have the same respect they have for their parents towards their teachers. References Jones, P. (n. d.) Top 8 Most Underpaid Jobs That Deserve Much Higher Pay. | body | [image source](https://mobilesyrup.com/2019/04/23/openai-dota-2-bot-7257-competive-games/) This is based on the article that you have chosen. Focus on: i) The problem ii) The method used to address the problem iii) What is the big deal about this? iv) Can it be applied in your classroom of the future? The article chosen: https://repository.usd.ac.id/33207/2/146332034_full.pdf Based on the article entitled “The Acquisition Of English Through Playing Dota”, it discussed applying DoTA as a platform to learn English, as stated in the title. Defence of The Ancients 2 (DoTA 2) is a widely-played game around the world. The genre of DoTA is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA), where a lot of actions and strategies will be involved. DoTA 2 is a worldwide game therefore players will meet a lot of people from different countries. As there is a language barrier between players from different countries who used different languages, the players will need to use a second language to communicate and interact with the other players. DoTA 2 is a strategy game, therefore communication or interaction is crucial in order to build a good and concrete strategy. English is an international language. So, the second language that will be used by the players who play DoTA is English. That is why this issue is raised. Can DoTA 2 be used as a learning platform for English? It is believed that players who play DoTA 2 will be able to increase their mastery in English due to their encounter with various people who are fluent in it. The method used in order to address the problem is hermeneutics phenomenological research. This research is used in order to understand how someone would interpret their experiences through their daily lives. The aim is to get a better and deeper understanding of DoTA players’ experiences, in order to determine whether DoTA 2 can be used as a learning means or not. A few DoTA 2 players would need to answer questions regarding DoTA based on their experiences. There are four main skills in English which are writing, speaking, listening and reading. The game is believed to influence all these four skills of English in players. As stated in the article, DoTA 2 is a game meant for playing with people all around the world. Therefore, players will meet different people who speak English with a different accent and this will improve their listening skills since they will have to listen properly in order to understand. Other than that, some of the players that prefer to communicate verbally will improve their speaking skills. The game is a battle game so sometimes, the player would not have the time to write in order to convey their message to their teammates. That is why in this situation, the player will have to use verbal English and over time they would get used to it and become comfortable using English. Lastly are both writing and reading skills. For players who prefer nonverbal communication, they would improve more on these two skills because they have to read other people’s messages and send one of their messages as well. This will help them to learn new vocabulary and even have their grammar skill improved. Based on my opinion, this game does improve one’s mastery of English. However, I do not agree with the idea of using DoTA 2 in classroom learning. In the article, one of the respondents stated that if a team consists of five players with good individual skills, interaction is not really necessary. Moreover, most players would only be able to develop their English skills in specific areas. For example, for those who refuse to use verbal English, they would communicate using text. However, because of this, they would only improve in reading and writing. The game settings in DoTA 2 are not simple as well. Therefore, the application of this game as a learning method for English in the classroom is a huge trouble beginner that has no experience in playing battle games. DoTA 2 can still be used as one of the ways to learn English informally but to use it as one of the lessons in classroom learning is not a good idea. |

| body | [image source](https://gomedici.com/are-credit-cards-the-same-in-the-us-and-canada) A Credit Card Can Be a Friend and a Foe By: Andrea Nowadays more and more people are having their own credit cards and this includes those who are still studying as well. Credit cards have their own advantages but it can easily be misused and become a burden for its users. A credit card is usually misused because it gives the user the freedom to spend the money as they do not have to pay for it immediately. It encourages the user to spend more money than the amount of money that they actually have. Therefore, this becomes a problem when the user could not pay for the amount of money they spent the next following month. Credit card companies charge users who could not pay on time and they received profit from it. The later the user pay, the more money they will be charged by the company. Eventually, they will have an enormous debt in their hands. There are some ways that can be done in order to overcome this problem. Credit card misuse usually occurs among students because they do not have adequate financial knowledge. Therefore, one of the ways that can be done is the government or the authority in universities and colleges could give students a talk on the topic financial which includes the right way of using a credit card. This way, college students or university students are able to avoid falling into debt. As a conclusion, a credit card can be advantageous depending on how the user uses it. If the user uses it well, a credit card could be a help but if it is not used properly, it will be a troublesome financial issue. References Jahan, S. (2019). | body | Artificial Intelligence By: Andrea<h1> When we say about Artificial Intelligence (AI), we would only think about the robots who resemble humans. That is not entirely correct. According to my own understanding, all robots including machines that help humans on their daily basis are counted as AI. For instance, those robots used in factories, the voice we usually use in Google and the famous human-like robot named Sophia. They are all artificial intelligence. They were created to help humans and make our lives easier. However, because of this, humans become too dependent on AI. When that happens, more people would create AI, use them and replaces human with AI as a worker since AI do works better than human. This phenomenon gives human disadvantages despite it being done in order to make our lives easier. <h2> When having too much AI in the occupation industry, more jobs will disappear in the future. This is because the workers are being replaced by robots. There are some articles on the internet that predict the types of jobs that will most likely disappear in the future. One of them is doctors. This is because there are already AI that can give a diagnose to the patient accurately based on the symptoms shown by the body. Even for teachers, nowadays most students learn more through the internet and the internet is able to give them more answers than teachers can. <h3> However, when we say having AI in the occupation industry is not good, that is not true as well. This is because as we all know, technology helped humans a lot in their daily lives and most of our lives are heavily influenced by technology. Therefore, to cut down the technology abruptly is irrational as well. We cannot just force the government to stop using AI in the occupation industry because the workload that can be done by AI is not at the same pace as humans. Industry such as factories especially needs more AI to help them since they are producing an enormous amount of products in one day and humans would not be able to keep up with the work. <h4> Therefore, in order to keep up with technology, we need to equip ourselves with more skills as well. Even though robots are good at doing hard skills that are needed in the occupation industry, they cannot do the work that requires soft skills such as communication and empathy. Therefore, we need to strengthen the soft skills that we have and if possible, learn more skills so that we can switch our work to another work anytime whenever necessary without having too much trouble with it. So, in other words, the young generations nowadays have to become multi-talented people in order to compete with the technology-based world.<h5> In conclusion, having AI doing the work for us is not bad because there are some things that humans cannot afford to do due to many reasons such as stamina, health, age and more. That is why, no matter what, we still need AI in our lives. However, we should not leave everything to AI as well. We need to prepare ourselves as well be move along with the technology that is constantly improving. We need to keep improving ourselves so that we would not be left behind. |

"body": "Artificial Intelligence\nBy: Andrea<h1>\n When we say about Artificial Intelligence (AI), we would only think about the robots who resemble humans. <h2>\n When having too much AI in the occupation industry, more jobs will disappear in the future. <h3>\n However, when we say having AI in the occupation industry is not good, that is not true as well. <h4>\n Therefore, in order to keep up with technology, we need to equip ourselves with more skills as well. So, in other words, the young generations nowadays have to become multi-talented people in order to compete with the technology-based world.<h5>\n In conclusion, having AI doing the work for us is not bad because there are some things that humans cannot afford to do due to many reasons such as stamina, health, age and more. That is why, no matter what, we still need AI in our lives. However, we should not leave everything to AI as well. We need to prepare ourselves as well be move along with the technology that is constantly improving. We need to keep improving ourselves so that we would not be left behind.",
