Pleasure is not what drives men to want more sex. They have been conditioned to believe that the only way to get deep connection with others is through sex, and so they attempt to satisfy this need through sex, without success. Women have been conditioned to see men’s needs as base and shallow, and so that’s how they meet them. This leads to frustration and disappointment.\n\n“Women only want sex for connection.”\n\nWomen easily get connection. They get it from each other. They get it from their children. They get it from their parents. Connection is not what drives women to want sex. They have been conditioned to believe that the only way to have ecstatic pleasure is through sex, and so they attempt to experience this through sex without success. Men have been conditioned to believe that women’s needs are ethereal and non-sexual, and so that’s how they meet them. They believe women don’t really want sex, but only do it to satisfy men’s ‘base’ needs. This does not inspire them to strive to create the most ecstatic experience possible for their partner and results in disappointment and frustration. \n\nThis is society’s template for relationship failure – The Great Lie.\n\nThe crazy truth is…\nMen want to have deep connection for themselves while creating and witnessing pleasure and passion in their partner. This creates their passion.\nWomen want to experience deep pleasure and passion in themselves while experiencing authentic, meaningful connection with their partner. This creates their passion.\n\nThis is nature’s template for relationship success.\n\nWhen you realize this, you have the key to begin healing relationships from the Great Lie.\n\nWhen a man experiences satisfaction and connection on the deepest level, his cup is full, and his urgency around sex loses its power. Then his healing begins.\n\nWhen a woman experiences her own limits on mind blowing pleasure and ecstasy, in a place of deep connection, her cup is filled and her resistance to sex loses its power. Then her healing begins. \n\nThis is how partners meet each other fully, actualize their intimacy, and catalyze each other’s healing and expansion. \n\nIndoctrination into society’s template for failure begins at the beginning… \n\nLittle boys are radicalized at an early age into rejecting affection, vulnerability, emotions, and other “feminine” and “unmanly” traits. They too soon reach an age where they stop being touched. Meaningful physical contact is reduced to quick handshakes, awkward pats on the back between men, contact sports, and infrequent short hugs with relatives. Human touch is a basic human need, and it is cruelly denied male humans.\n\nLittle girls are radicalized from an early age into an impossible choice between slut and prude. These two extremes are presented as immutable, uncompromising, and filled with shame. To make it worse, nobody will actually tell them where the lines are. Clearly defined negatives with fuzzy boundaries leave plenty of room for the inevitable chaos that results, and from junior high school on, girls are at war with their inner selves and with each other. Some never recover. \n\nToo many find themselves living out this lie about human nature, THEIR nature. Each strives for the opposite of what they want while giving their partner the opposite of what THEY want. Locked into a pointless, unwinnable battle, many give up, surrendering to the fate they are taught is inevitable and ‘normal.’\n\nWhen your assumptions suck the joy from your life, it’s time to take a look at your assumptions. They don’t have to be yours - they were given to you by others. Give them back. It’s our nature to have joy, to love easily, to connect with each other, and to give and receive pleasure effortlessly. Deep down, we know this, and the efforts we have made to function well in a system rigged for failure are truly heroic. Somehow we still manage to love, raise children, and squeeze moments of joy and pleasure that we treasure dearly…but the time for settling is done. These battles against our selves and our partners are done. They are right. And yet…we look around at so many who struggle every single day to connect to others. We know so many who are lost, unable to see who they are, even though everyone around them can see it. We live in a world so upside down and distorted that we can scarcely believe there is any divinity in it at all.\n\nHow can this be, if we are perfect? How can fully healed people behave this way? How can perfect be so ugly?\n\nLike a treasure in a vault, it’s not enough to know that something exists, to be able to access it. Our truest self, our inner child, our divine nature are safely tucked away behind walls and vault doors, built to protect us from a lifetime of past traumas. Persons wearing masks taught us we must wear masks and hide our true selves. We play out the scripts that were drilled into us from our earliest years, by those playing out their own ancient scripts.\n\nWhen, in your entire life, were you ever encouraged, or even given permission, to be your fully authentic self?\n\nNo, instead you got:\n“Who do you think you are?”\n“Get ahold of yourself!”\n“Stop being so selfish!”\n“Quit being so childish!”\n“I don’t care, I don’t want to know, I’m busy, I don’t have time for this…”\n\nWhen, in your entire life, were you ever encouraged, or even given permission, to release a lifetime of emotions, stored to deal with ‘later?’\nThe powerful rage.\nThe overwhelming grief.\nThe deep sorrow.\n\nNo, instead you got: \n“Leave your baggage at the door.”\n“That’s in the past.”\n“It’s all in your head.”\n“Just let it go.”\n“Get over it, grow up, talk with a girlfriend, see a therapist, I don’t have time for your shit…”\n\nIf it’s so easy, why is it so hard?\n.\n.\n.\n.\nYou don’t remove a bullet by talking it out.\nYou don’t clear infection by thinking happy thoughts.\nYou don’t remove a parasite by ‘just letting it go.’\nYou don’t remove easily what you worked so hard to store.\nYou don’t create connection by bringing the past along for the ride.\n\nYou truly are perfect, divine, powerful, complete. It’s time to access that, experience that, BE that every single day. It’s time for authentic connection to family. It’s time for deep, authentic connection to pleasure and intimacy. Thank them. \n\nI could have skipped out after I got bored and finished with a dishonourable discharge.\nWhy would you thank someone for that?\n\nWhat I wasn’t, was a person carrying a gun, wondering if I was going to be shot by a sniper, blown up by an IED, or killed in myriad other fashions I can’t even comprehend.\nThank them. Thank them in the very best way possible. Bring them home to their families, so they can live a life not killing nor being killed.       "body": "Which is real?\n\n1)\tI am typing on an old, obsolete laptop in a 30 year old house in a 3rd world country. My wife is typing on her old laptop, and my son is bothering me for another snack, since he never seems to get enough food lately. I had to walk him to and from school today, and I have so much to do before the end of the month, now that we are moving (again!). Ugh! I hate moving!\n2)\tI am relaxing in my incredibly beautiful home surrounded by nature, next to a river, in a beautiful, fascinating country. People come from all over the world to visit this land, renowned for its natural beauty, pure water, fresh food, and tranquil environment. Here, I get to work from my home on high tech equipment, creating real change in the world with my wonderful clients. My beautiful partner, the woman of my dreams, works with me in a truly shared partnership, and together we are able to care for our son, who is growing by leaps and bounds, thriving on the great food, fresh air and kind people who come into our lives. He knows what candy is, but he doesn’t consider it a food group. His school is within a short walking distance, and his teachers and classmates are wonderful. We are so excited to be up-leveling to a new location for our home and business, a home in yet again a peaceful community with amazing views, and plentiful opportunities for us to grow our business and our son. OMG, life is good!\n\nBoth situations are equally true “objectively.” What makes it true for us is the person at the wheel – what we want, what we value, who we are, and our willingness to own this.\n\nThis is not a discussion about being right or wrong, optimistic or cynical, or thinking positive. These concepts only scratch the surface of the reality of the power we hold – to take full power over our experience and our existence.\n\nIt’s all about the story, and once we fully accept that, we gain an astonishing amount of power on what our reality can become. But we can’t really fully accept that until we discover the main character of our story – ourselves. Knowing who we are at the deepest levels, our values, dreams, talents and capabilities, is essential to taking control of the story and making it ours.\n\nWe’ve all heard the glass half empty/half full analogy, but the real power is taking over the glass and its contents. When you know what you want in that glass, how much of it you want, in what quantities, you no longer helplessly settle for a reality that is handed to you. The limits disappear. The cage you thought was there turns out to be made of confetti, confining you only because someone told you it did.\n\nWhen you fully get this, when you fully integrate it with self-knowledge and the decision to stop settling in life, suddenly the world opens up to you in ways you never imagined. Your life becomes one of limitless potential, exciting and mysterious. Adventure is no longer something viewed in a movie, but experienced daily. Remember the endless curiosity and wonder when you were a child? That’s back.\n\nAnd the people, situations, beliefs and bullshit that once held you back become the vaporware they always were – smoke and mirrors to distract you from your power. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you sit down, in partnership with those who are there to journey with you, and ask yourself “If we could do anything, go anywhere, be anyone… what would that look like”…and then you fucking go and do that! Knowing yourself, knowing your values, dreams and talents - what power on earth can hold you back? Only you.\n\nThat does NOT mean there are no challenges, and it does NOT mean you have to do it alone. It does mean you will succeed no matter what, because you will decide to succeed no mater what. Challenges are there to tell you that you still have work to do, to fine-tune you, to teach you. And others are there to bless you, to share your journey, give you opportunities to grow through service and shared experiences. The difference is in the intention – your choices are clear in intention, and your intentional circle of soul friends/family are there, supporting you on your path.\n\nIn my experience there are some common roadblocks to claiming your perfect life:\n\n“It’s none of your business what other people think of you.”\n\nDon’t let other people’s stories fuck up yours. There will always be people who don’t resonate with you, don’t get you, or plain don’t like you. That’s their story, their reality. You can waste a lot of time trying to modify that, or you can focus into creating amazing with your own story. Guess which one will yield the most benefits?\n\nTriggers, blocks and sticky beliefs that keep getting in the way.\n\nAlong with the process of learning who we are, is the letting go of what/who we are NOT. This is all deep work, and starting this work is the first step into starting your life. Everything up to this point is simply existing, settling, believing the bullshit that we are small and helpless. It’s like setting out on a journey with shackles and heavy weights dragging us down. Get real, get serious, and get busy – it doesn’t take the rest of your life to release what you picked up during the first part of your life. The expertise is out there, more today then ever, and the investment will make all the difference.\n\nThat nasty little Ego.\n\nThe first thing to let go of is something many don’t even realize exists. That constant companion, our ego-mind. Everyone has one, and they are all immature asses. It is their job to keep us safe, and they only know how to do this by keeping us doing the same shit over and over. You’re not dead, so it must be working, right? Identify its whiny voice, thank it for its service and for fulfilling its role, and then let it know that you’ve got it from here. It’s there to assist, not direct, and it will shut you down every time, if it could. It is clever, not wise, and it can learn ‘spiritual language’ if necessary to create spiritual bypass in order avoid risk. It can’t know, can’t comprehend spiritual matters, but it can sound convincing. Do you ever find yourself saying that source/spirit/god has told you to do one thing, and then suddenly tells you to do the opposite? Either source/spirit/god is confused, or you are, and if you are, you can bet your ego is involved. Start tapping into which voice was authentic, which was obstructive, and you will gain the power to discern your ego’s voice.\n\nWaiting to start until you are ‘ready.’\n\nThis one will shut you down forever, and is ego based. Life isn’t a series of classes you must take before graduation – the more commitment you show, the more growth you create, and believing that you can prepare for it like a picnic at the beach will shut you down permanently. Even the process of getting to know yourself is an iterative one – as you learn more about yourself and honor that truth, you will open the doors to learning even more. You don’t have to know it all to start benefiting from what you know now. Get ready for scary. Get used to free-fall. Trust in your own knowing, and let go of preconceived ideas on what it will look like. The universe has your back, and it has plans for you that you can’t even imagine. What kind of adventure begins with you knowing the ending, after all? This will be more like a cross between Indiana Jones and Alice in Wonderland – not how-to manual.\n\nThe journey is your own – it can only be that way – but enlisting others can enhance, facilitate, and escalate your process, your growth, your expansion.       "body": "Perhaps one of the more pernicious ideas that have been promoted by poets and romantics over the ages is the “I need you” mantra. This idea that a real, meaningful relationship is preceded by need has been idealized for millennia, and may seem harmless – if you are careful not to look under the hood.\n\n“I need you\nLike the flower needs the rain\nYou know, I need you\n…\nLike the winter needs the spring\nYou know, I need you\nI need you”\n\n-America “I Need You”\n\nI did a quick search of a popular lyrics website and it resulted in 630,622 lyrics with the phrase “I need you.”\n\nYou need air. You need water. Your need for these things is taken for granted. You don’t admire them, nurture them, or waste much concentration on them, until they’re removed – then you become increasingly frantic, even irrational, to restore it. These are the sentiments of a stalker, and it’s incredible that we’ve been conditioned to find this attractive.  \n\nIf someone else becomes the only permissible source to meet a real need, they own you, and that’s the other side of the coin – ownership. Marriage is steeped in the culture of ownership, because that’s literally what it used to mean. Women were the property of men in every sense of the word, and the shadows of this remain to this day. \n\nIt can hardly be a surprise that the powerful combination of need and ownership creates an incredibly toxic environment, and we see this clearly when breakups happen. Seen in this light, the extreme behavior of people breaking up makes perfect sense. After all, he/she owns you. How would you respond if your car decided to leave you. Would that be an amicable parting? Also, you are taking away something they ‘need’ as completely as air, right? Suffocate a person, and there is no action they won’t take to regain air. \n\nConsequently, violence, irrational behavior of all sorts, and extreme antagonism are incredibly common. None of this is an excuse for this behavior – we are expected to be able to rise above the irrational as adults. But we exist under a system that is stacked against us – that is ripe for confusion, fear, anger and acting out, and we see the results daily.\n\nIt’s time for healthy adults to begin their partnerships from a place of:\n\n“I don’t need you...I want and choose you. Together we will share our journeys challenging, cheering and supporting each other.”\n\nTHIS is sexy, desirable, and satisfying. Love can thrive in this environment. Someone telling us they “need us” should be met with “Eww…”. The energy of a stalker is beneath us – we are mature individuals who can get our own needs met, and we are owned by no one. Being desired is infinitely better than being needed.       "body": "Narrative is everything. The story in our head is the literal creation of our own reality. Two different people can have objectively identical circumstances, which can result in two completely different subjective experiences. One victim of childhood abuse becomes an abuser, another becomes a healer. What is the difference? Narrative – the story we tell ourselves, and the lessons we thus choose to accept.\n\n“I finally got the nerve to quit my job today and I’m so excited to start doing what I really want to do,” is identical to “I finally lost it and quit, and now I have a disaster to deal with,” at least on the outside. One reaction spirals up into joy and success, the other spirals down into depression and failure. “The economy is in shambles,” you’re told, and instantly you’re fearful and depressed. It doesn’t matter that you may have the best job, and the best income you’ve ever had – YOUR economy is great, but ‘the economy’ is in shambles! \n\nThe skeptic calls foul – “You’re just kidding yourself!” Really? Why is the negative response the default sensible one? Watch for those who seek to distort our narrative, denigrate our personal story, eat our joy. The truth is, all the real battles, both internal and in the world, are all about narrative. And truth is the biggest casualty in these battles.\n\nSociety tells us the narrative we are permitted to have. Much of it is prepackaged. Your outer narrative is all about whether you vote red or blue, worship this ancient teacher or that one, rich, poor, the right color, the wrong color, the right school, the wrong school. Here is a book, there is a teacher, they know all the answers so pay close attention. Not one fucking time does anyone ask you what you think, where your values lie, or what is your passion. That matters not one whit. And should you stray from the acceptable, society is very, very good at putting you back in line. Your friends and family are well indoctrinated, and a team of professionals is standing by to help.\n\nOn top of that, all the stories we’ve been told are designed to keep us there. And that’s the thing, isn’t it. It’s all about the stories. The path to happiness is here, only nutcases and losers go there. Watch any disaster or horror movie – they start by singling out some people trying to have a little fun, and then visit upon them the most gruesome fate imaginable. Serves them right. Little Red Riding Hood strayed from the path. Jack & Jill went up the hill. Good girls don’t do this. Real men don’t do that.\n\nThe reality is that once you latch onto the realization that it’s YOUR story, not theirs, you discover that this is a story you can own. Suddenly, that boring, inevitable story line that has trapped you into a world of misery with an inevitable ending has zero relevance to you. You are the hero, the wizard, the brave genius who saves the world! You are whatever you want to be, and knowing this, you become this. There are no traps – only lies. There are no losers, only heroes who have momentarily lost their way. The ‘real world’ is in reality a fascinating world of exciting possibilities that is waiting for you to step into your unique, priceless contribution. You are, in fact, the author of your life.       "body": "Every spiritual practice is necessarily a personal spiritual practice – it’s impossible to remove yourself from the process. However, it IS possible to have a greater or lesser awareness of what’s going on. My own belief system has shifted greatly over my lifetime, and I'm confident it will continue to shift. Stasis is death, after all, and besides that, it’s boring. The following are my own Guides for a Personal Spiritual Practice, arranged in order of what does not, and then what does work for me.\n\n1.\tHate. The universe is love, we come from love, we are love, all is love. I don’t care about the justifications, lame-ass excuses, or tortured distortions from ancient tomes. Hate, including bigotry, intolerance, oppression – all its forms – are the opposite of a spiritual practice. They are a descent into the ego. Our society is seeing a resurgence of hate, or perhaps merely pulling back the curtain at what was already there. In any case, it is truly awful to behold. Using hate in a spiritual practice cancels out its entire purpose – connection to the divine. We don’t get to connect to divinity through hate, and the killing it inspires unmasks its true aspect – a celebration of death.\n2.\tFear. If your spirituality requires fear as fuel, then it is bankrupt. The extremes that some go to in order to manufacture fear is astonishing – fear of eternal punishment after you die, fear of the spiteful wrath of a loving deity, fear of humanity itself unless it is reined in by fear…there seem to be no limits on what we must fear in order to be “worthy”. And therein lies the greatest lie – fear that we are somehow not “good enough” for the presence of divinity. We, who come from divinity, hold divinity in us continually, share divinity with all others, in fact literally cannot escape divinity if we wanted to, are somehow “unworthy” of divinity unless we jump through the necessary hoops assigned by others. Ultimately, it is our own power, our own connection to divinity, to each other, to ALL, that we are taught to fear. Fuck that.\n3.\tDogma. The idea that someone has to come along and supply us with the Accepted Eternal Truths is repulsive. I love-love-love learning about new ideas, insights, and truths. Comparing these gems of knowledge and truth to my own, subjecting them for review by my own inner knowing, sitting with them and feeling their relevance to MY life, MY existence, MY values, is essential to the process of learning. One betrayal I can never make is to assign my truth to another. It’s easy to spot those who do so – when confronted with differing beliefs, they respond with hate and fear. There is no security, no peace, and no real growth in giving over your accountability for your own truth.\n4.\tArrogance. Leave your arrogance at the door – it has no place in a respectful discussion. Your truths are yours – you don’t get to inflict them on me. I love a lively discussion, and a chance to go deep into differing beliefs and philosophies – if I’m lucky, I’ll learn something and change my own. At the least, I’ll get greater clarity on my own beliefs. As soon as you bring in arrogance, you attempt to claim sovereignty over me, my beliefs, and my life experience. That never goes well.\n\nThe flip side of the coin is my playground. Show up with Love – the real stuff – and I’m with you. Choose into Joy rather than Hate, and you’re speaking my language. Love and Joy are my essence, and they are yours as well, whether you are tapped into that or not. Dogma shuts down genuine inquiry, so step into life with the irrepressible curiosity of the child, and let’s play together. Life is endlessly interesting - fascinating really - and ultimately unknowable, so we get to have a lifetime of endless exploring together, knowing the well will never run dry. Living in a place of constant learning and growth, we will never have room for arrogance – how can we, when we know that tomorrow may upend everything we thought we knew today!\n\nLet your spiritual practice free you.       "body": "It was a beautiful day for the parade. A sea of people lined the road for miles. Food vendors hawked their wares from their gaily-decorated carts, and everyone wore their favorite outfits, combining into a shimmery kaleidoscopic panorama for the eyes. Music was playing, and while this was an important parade, it was a day of celebration and socializing as well, and it would last well into the night.\n\nReflecting on this, I worried that maybe we were getting too caught up in the fun, forgetting the importance of the occasion. My thoughts were interrupted by a half-naked dynamo smashing into my lower extremities. \n\n“Derek!” I mock scolded, “you nearly knocked me over!”\n“Sorry mom,” he grinned. “I had a question for you.”\n\n Glancing over at my partner, I saw he was deep into conversation with a neighborhood friend, so I squatted so I could look Derek in the eye.\n\n“What is it, my handsome boy?” I asked.\n\n“Momma, I want to head over to Jared’s house, but his mom won’t let me. She says we have to stay for the parade!” he said indignantly.\n\n“She’s right,” I soothed, letting him feel his frustration. “It’s ok to be impatient, but this is an important day. It’s the day we remember some very important things.”\n\nRolling his eyes in aggravation he groused, “Well, I hope we’re done soon! Jared says the peaches are ripe, and I want some!”\n\nOur conversation was suddenly interrupted by the low growl of distant, ancient machinery. Even though they were just starting them up in the staging area we could hear them over a kilometer away. Silence descended over the crowd. Even the children sensed something, and quieted in their play, looking around with concern at the suddenly serious faces of the adults. Chilled, I moved next to Paul so I could feel his arm around me, Derek’s hand in mine. We listened as the engines rumbled, growing closer, seemingly putting a pall even over the sun.\n\nSuddenly, far down the road, I saw the dark shapes turn the corner. Paul picked up Derek so he could see over the crowd, and I reached up rubbing his back to calm his nervousness as he stared at the distant, advancing vehicles. First up, as always, were the missiles. Monstrous, sleek, deadly, these uniquely hellish darts of horror always lead the parade. They once held the innocuous sounding name of ICBM, and two missiles with the markings of two former world-threatening enemies rode side-by-side. Even stripped of their dangerous mechanisms and fuels, I could barely repress a shudder at the sight. I remembered the fears, threats and insanities these represented, experienced when I was a young teen, many decades ago.\n\nNext up were the massive tanks. The operators made a good show of swinging the turrets around and revving the engines loudly, and people couldn't help but flinch as the barrels pointed their way. Derek shook like a leaf and moaned, covering his eyes.\n\n“It’s ok, sweetheart,” I said, rubbing his back.\n\nThe tanks spread trepidation, surging in their choking toxic clouds, and a palpable nervousness filled the air. Nodding to myself, I was reminded that the impact of this parade is always more powerful than I remember. Mere words, nor memory can scarcely impress as well as the actuality of the death machines marching implacably on.\n\nA column of mock soldiers followed, sweating in their drab uniforms, every nationality represented holding every style of handheld tool of death imaginable. These tools were deactivated, but they would be holding live demonstrations later. It’s hard to describe the destructive power of these small devices once cultivated and valued, but the demonstrations were effective.\n\nThen there were the wheeled machinery of all types, including artillery pieces, anti-aircraft guns, various missile launchers, all old, but some very old. Ancient cannon that could have defended an ancient fort rolled alongside cruise missiles that once could have carried nuclear bombs. They were in various states of repair, some rusty, some shiny and refurbished. \n\nI wondered to myself at the passion some had in restoring these museum pieces, but I was glad that someone did it, because there was no denying the effect this parade was having. All sense of festivities had fled completely, and the contrast of the parade of drab metal death to the colorful costumes made for a dramatic effect. It would be many hours of sober discussion and reflection before the celebrations would be able to resume.\n\nThen the flag draped coffins appeared. Rows and rows of coffins, with the flags of all nations represented - symbolic, of course, but a reminder of the astonishing numbers of people killed by a world gone mad. Hats were removed and heads bowed as we reflected on the insanity and the horror that humans could inflict, and on what scale. I felt the chill of the ghosts marching alongside the coffins – lives cut short, senselessly, ruthlessly, efficiently.\n\nAs the last of the coffins passed by, a long quiet held the crowd. No one spoke, no one moved. We just stared at the empty street and reflected on what had just passed, and what that meant. Gradually, though, and lead by the ever-resilient, irrepressible children, life returned to the crowd, and people began heading over to their campsites and picnic spreads. The parade always left me with a sense that “If we can survive that, we can do anything.” Walking next to my lover, and with my son’s warm hand in mine, I smiled.  \n\nDia de Locura. Day of Madness.       "body": "Much has been made over the years of the decline of western civilization. In the past, armchair theoreticians, dry academic articles, and the occasional ominous news stories have highlighted declining birth rates, environmental concerns, and even the shaky dollar as evidence.\n\nWe no longer need rely on theory. We are seeing it daily in the news, with politicians who openly make name-calling tweets and give barely literate speeches. We see it in open high tech warfare against distant countries with barely a nod to any believable reason for the mass killings and destruction. Corporations and wealthy individuals openly bribe our politicians and call it “lobbying,” and there are no longer any legitimate parties representing actual voters in the US.\n\nThis is slow motion collapse, right before our eyes, and attempting to deny it is just sad. You can continue to participate in the partisan rock-throwing, which is slowly shifting to bullet throwing (how long until gun-toting Nazi’s and gun-toting Antifas start actually shooting at each other?), or you can acknowledge the truth that the existing system is done. In a system where money translates directly into power, the battles being fought over control of the system have nothing to do with you, and don’t matter, anyway. The person who gets to be at the wheel of the vehicle plunging off the mountain road has no ultimate advantage.\n\nOk, so it’s hopeless, right? Only if you choose to keep dining on the fare the system is feeding you. There is an open secret, and it’s only a secret because the approved media is invested in the old frame. The new frame is opening right before our eyes, and is even covered by the media, but through intention or ignorance (it’s not important which) it is never placed in perspective.\n\nSo here’s some perspective. There is a birthing of a new society, and it’s happening now, it’s unfolding rapidly, and it could give a shit about the old order. The new society has the following flavors:\n\nIt honors the feminine, and places women equally beside men. The “#metoo movement” has been portrayed in many ways - as a one-off aberrant happening, doomed to be forgotten, or even overwhelmed by an inevitable backlash; as a mistake, an over-reach, or worse; as angry women over-reacting - as women grasping at “significance.” Forget all this, because the #metoo movement isn’t a movement. It’s just one of the early and most visible manifestations of the new society, and it is an incredibly powerful one at that. Powerful, wealthy, and completely invulnerable men (as per the old order) were steam-rolled over with impunity. Forget about courts and trials and weak, pathetic convictions after dragging the victims through a whole new level of victimization. These men got to suffer real consequences, and where it really counted. They were reviled, their businesses shut down, their influence stomped in the mud, and no place to hide, no appeals to corrupt courts with highly paid attorneys, and no way to turn it all back onto the victims.\n\nIf this bothers you, if you want to talk about “due process”, if you are afraid, it’s because you are still living in the old frame – a frame where “due process” means ignoring, or worse, heaping abuse on victims seeking justice. A frame where men can safely and casually dish out massive amounts of abuse KNOWING they are completely safe.\n\nThe defining mechanism for change with the new society is that there is no change. Trying to “change” the old system is playing by the old rules, and MUST fail. That’s how the game is rigged. The new society chooses, instead, to create something brand new and simply bypass, and even ignore the old. Relevance shifts in a sort of radical bypass of the old.\n\nWe see this in the shifting around race relations. Police brutality and racism is not a new thing. It didn’t just start last year. African Americans have existed in this oppressive environment for generations…when I was born, they were still hanging “negroes” from telephone poles in the south! The difference is that social tolerance for ongoing racism has dissolved, almost overnight. Daily there are new articles and viral shares of people who call the cops because a black person is in a tour group, a college dorm, or in a neighborhood. The fact that many have long believed that blacks “don’t belong here” is now out in the open, and it is being dealt with directly. The people who show up this way, the police departments, even the colleges are being called to account, not by the politicians, administrators or “leaders” who supposedly are in charge. Their strange silence is actually nothing new, but consequences are happening regardless, directly and publicly. Shit really is “getting real.”\n\nPerhaps the most fundamental reality shift is in one place that has always been impervious to bottom up solutions - currency. Bitcoin started it, and the underlying blockchain technology of Bitcoin is creating a true wild-west environment, a massive swirling potentiality that few, if any, can fully comprehend. It has already, in its birth, created a powerful analog to currency and the stock market, and massive wealth has been generated, stolen, lost and sold to herald it’s birth pains. Don’t look at this as tech. Tech is to bitcoin like water is to a fish – necessary for its existence, but having little to do with where it evolves, what it eats, and how it grows. And importantly, it perfectly fits the pattern of the emerging new society – something new that will not overthrow the old – simply bypass it.\n\nThe old world is dead, and when you see the insane clown reality stars on the news, suddenly everything makes sense – this is the old world death rattle. What is emerging is still unclear, still evolving, and we are left with many, many questions on what this new dimension, this new society will look like. The good news is, it isn’t too late to make your mark on what it will look like. It’s like the early pioneer settlers to America – so much promise, so much potential, and no clear answers.       "body": "*(Or, since when did mutual annihilation become a virtue?)*\n\nWhile we fight amongst ourselves, the fox is stealing the eggs.\n\nWhile we dehumanize and demean each other over every difference in opinion and departure from the “party line,” the party is having a party, with our money. They spend outrageous amounts on wars in distant lands, promoting hate, arming terrorists and literally dropping 10’s of thousands of bombs yearly. They pass legislation supporting the desires of big businesses and wealthy individuals and pretend it has nothing to do with the bribes (“lobbying”) dispensed. They sit quietly “helpless” while our children mow each other down in their schools, our police shoot unarmed people with impunity, and civil liberties disappear down a seemingly endlessly ravenous drain, and we can’t even fucking discuss possible solutions!\n\nThe dominant theme for social discourse right now is force-based. \n\n“My thugs are in office now, and they are going to force you to do it my way…” \n\nOr, “Your thugs will soon be voted out, and then our team will force you to do it our way.”\n\nWhat’s really wrong with this picture is how much of an oddball I am for bringing this up! We are a nation with no solutions for some very serious problems: our broken healthcare system, children dying in the “security” of their schools, world-record-breaking amounts of incarceration, terror threats and seemingly endless warfare, and we are completely incapable of talking about it. Civil discourse, the necessity of getting together and finding solutions from a place of common ground, and treating each other with respect…who else is saying this? Our politicians? Our media? Our leaders?\n\nAll of these problems - every one – have a solution, but you won’t find it in your institutions. The NRA will not join with anti-gun groups and work together, not even to protect children. The republicans and the democrats won’t create a bipartisan solution to runaway healthcare costs. They won’t do this, because their very existence is predicated on creating polarity and maintaining it. There are zero incentives to solve problems – solutions are a no-win for them.\n\nFor these ego-based institutions, to cooperate is to die. They will not consent to their own deaths.\n\nWe must take this into our own hands, bottom up, bypassing the decrepit system. \nWe must create working systems with built-in systems that create harmony and solutions rather than polarity. \nWe must do this if WE want to survive.\n\nAnd it must start with the way we talk to each other. The ever-present “Trolls” in public discourse, as annoying as they can be, are just the extreme edge of what is considered acceptable behavior in our interactions. We even look for opportunities to attack our allies, if we detect that, somehow, they are departing from “acceptable” thinking. What a way to ensure failure!\n\nThere are some promising “bottom-up” movements showing up to create change, but they are attempting to do so in this toxic polarity field. We are caught in a negative feedback loop, where positive social change, spontaneously created, is doomed to fail until we let go of the paradigm of polarization.\n\nWe don’t have to interact this way. It isn’t natural. It isn’t human. We’ve just been carefully socialized to believe so.\n\nWe can continue to insist that the attached meme is rational, sane, a way to win. Or we can accept that the most likely result is that both end up losing.\n\nLet go. Listen. Learn. You won’t die – you will, rather, promote life.       "body": "The #metoo movement sprung up, seemingly overnight, spurred by revelations surrounding Harvey Weinstein’s sexual harassment of women. The true surprise isn’t the depraved behavior and abuse of power he exhibited. The real surprise is that it mattered, and that there were real world consequences. The #metoo movement combined with an awakening sense of feminine empowerment created something brand new in the world, and it didn't stop with Weinstein. Actors such as Kevin Spacey, Politicians on both sides of the aisle, news personalities, CEOs…the ripple expanded to surprising areas. The #metoo movement was the leading edge of this ripple, and it has made many people very uncomfortable. Naturally there has been a pushback, an attempt to swing the pendulum back. This pushback includes the following:\n\n1 - “The #metoo movement is focused on wallowing in victimhood. Women should keep quiet, move past their abuse, and find their peace.”\n\nThis is an astonishing thing to say. The #metoo movement did the impossible. It unseated these men, and others, wrecked their careers, and destroyed the companies that were complicit in their abuse. Weinstein’s excesses came to light, and because women everywhere stepped up and made it clear that this is a huge problem in our society, the repercussions were earth-shaking. To try and frame this as a weakness by women who should crawl back into their holes requires a high commitment to denying the reality of their results.\n\n2 - “The #metoo movement does not adequately address [fill in the blank for another societal ill] and is thus fatally flawed.”\n\nI’ve seen this argument used against many efforts to create change in the world, and this movement is no exception. The assumption is that the person speaking can do it better. They are holding that a movement that has actually created amazing, real-world results should stand down so that this all-knowing person can do it right. The only real answer to that is to shut up and either create something better, or dive in and create change within the movement. Throwing rocks from the sidelines is small and petty.\n\n3 - “The #metoo movement bypasses due process, and is a frightening departure from the rule of law.”\n\nNo, what is frightening is how completely bankrupt the “rule of law” has been. This movement bypassed the existing, completely ineffective criminal justice system with an exhibition of the power of vulnerability. Vulnerability took down men who were literally invulnerable, and as a result changed the world. Vulnerable shares absorbed the patriarchal power because the reality is that it is more powerful. It sidestepped all the existing systems, including a corrupt, inept and ineffectual legal system, and did what was literally considered impossible. This is a paradigm shift right before our eyes. The solution is not to shut down the #metoo movement – it is to fix the fundamentally flawed and useless system that shames and blames women who attempt to use it, in behalf of the male abusers.\n\n4 - “These women are just self-serving liars.”\n\nAs if that’s a thing. As if there are big bucks to be made by coming out and publicly accusing a former employer. As if book deals and movie deals and employment offers flow to all these women. This sort of accusation is a clear attempt to shame, one of the most commonly used techniques in trying to shut down uncomfortable accusations.\n\n5 - “The #metoo movement is being abused to attack innocent people.”\n\nWhile there IS a potential for abuse, perpetuating actual abuse in the name of preventing future possible abuse is a weak move. The lid got blown off a dirty, nasty system, and there is plenty of ugliness coming to light as a result. The movement was aided by some of the best journalism of the decade, and even included The Washington Post catching pranksters trying to fake an accusation so they could discredit the movement. The potential for abuse exists, though, and this movement must evolve accordingly. This argument points back to point #2, and tossing the entire movement rather than harnessing the power to create much needed change is a cop-out. There is LOTS of room for discussion around this issue, and for creating something better.\n\nMen such as Weinstein and Spacey existed in a paradigm where they were literally all-powerful, able to manipulate and use those around them, treating others as objects, with no possible consequences. They were impregnable to the criminal justice system, popular media, their peers, and most especially, the women and children they victimized. There are so many things that seem to never change in our world, so when we see something that is actually creating real, no shit, results, maybe we don’t quite know how to respond. It’s time we lowered the barriers to change, stop resisting good things when they happen, and begin working with positive forces rather than against them in order to put the stamp of our genius, our passion, our creativity on the future we leave for our children.",
