| title | How to master your day and become a leader at your game |
| body | What do successful leaders like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey, and Richard Branson all have in common? They all have morning routines. This makes sense: If your mornings are chaotic, always seeming to end with you running out the door, the rest of your day will feel just as hectic. But what if you begin each day in a manner that leaves you calm, focused, and mentally and physically primed for the day? You’d likely feel much more purpose-driven and productive. What’s more, routines can give you enough energy and stamina to make it through the day. They can encourage you to keep moving forward, regardless of how you feel. They can also help you become more resilient and relaxed. But what’s the most effective morning routine? Well, there’s one set of guidelines guaranteed to set you up for success. Wake up earlier. Leaders like Tim Cook and Richard Branson are known for waking up incredibly early — “before the sun rises” early. This isn’t some strange badge of honor, either. A 2008 study published in The Journal of General Psychology found that early risers procrastinate less than night owls. If you’re more of a night owl, however, this may actually be counterproductive. Instead of fighting your circadian rhythm, align your sleep schedule with your body’s natural cycle. If Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg can sleep in until 7 or 8 a.m., I think you’ll be just fine. Whether you rise at 4 a.m. or 8 a.m., I suggest you at least start waking up before everyone else in your home. Personally, this gives me some quiet time before my children clamor for my attention. If you’re dreading waking up earlier, gradually work your way up instead of jumping into it. Start by getting up 15 minutes earlier every day for a week; then, wake up 30 minutes earlier the next. Keep doing this until you wake up at your new desired time. (Of course, this means you should start going to bed a little earlier as well.) Banish the snooze button. Both Arianna Huffington and Oprah Winfrey avoid using alarm clocks. Instead, they wake up naturally. The reason, as Renzo Costarella explains, is that “when you rise in the morning you want to be ready and energized to tackle the mission ahead.” Hitting the snooze button is really just wasting time. Besides, because it takes around 90 minutes to get into “good sleep,” dozing off for another 10 or 20 minutes isn’t beneficial. “In fact, it’s often detrimental as it will throw off the rhythm for your entire workday,” Costarella says. Additionally, if you use your phone as an alarm clock, this prevents you from checking your phone as soon as you wake up. Jari Roomer points out in a Medium post that that’s a good thing — it decreases stress and anxiety and prevents your time from being hijacked. Most importantly, if you kick off the day by getting distracted, you’ll be primed for distractions the rest of the day. Get into a positive mindset. Imagine having a hectic and stressful morning, like oversleeping and then stepping on a toy. You didn’t start the day on the right foot — literally — so how do you think the rest of your day will be? You’re likely to see everything through a dark lens. You can set the tone for your day by using your mornings to get into a positive mindset. You can achieve this through meditation, journaling, and practicing gratitude. You could also use self-affirmations, which have been found to improve decision-making and reduce stress. Also, take a minute to think about something you’re looking forward to today. In studies, people have actually reported more intense emotions during anticipation than during retrospection. Exercise and eat a real breakfast. “Researchers at the University of Bristol found that people who exercise during the workday have more energy and a more positive outlook, which are both critical to getting things done,” writes Dr. Travis Bradberry. “Getting your body moving for as little as 10 minutes releases GABA, a neurotransmitter that makes your brain feel soothed and keeps you in control of your impulses.” Exercising first thing in the morning means you’ll have the time for it, no questions asked. It will also give you an energy boost to start the day. If you don’t have time to hit the gym, even a quick cardio workout, like a brisk walk, is enough to get endorphins flowing. Also, don’t forget to refuel by eating a nutritious breakfast. To avoid the temptation of grabbing a doughnut or greasy breakfast sandwich on the way to work, prep the night before. Having yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, or hard-boiled eggs handy will keep you energized without wasting time. If you’re not a breakfast person, at least hydrate yourself with water, lemon, and hot tea, like green, chai, or ginger. A cup of coffee probably wouldn’t hurt, either. Schedule your to-do list. While things are still quiet and you’re in the right mindset, focus on what needs to get done today. Jot everything down, prioritize your to-do list, and then schedule the high-priority tasks on your calendar. “Scheduling forces you to confront the reality of how much time you actually have and how long things will take,” Cal Newport, author of Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World, said. “Now that you look at the whole picture you’re able to get something productive out of every free hour you have in your workday. You not only squeeze more work in but you’re able to put work into places where you can do it best.” If there’s one thing that could help you become more successful, it’s implementing a morning routine. Of course, don’t expect to do this overnight (no pun intended). Tweak things a bit until you find the routine that works best for you — and be consistent until it becomes automatic. Before long, you’ll be fueled every day to make great decisions for both you and your company. John Hall John Hall is the co-founder and president of Calendar, a scheduling and time management app. I thought this would help someone. I am Ezesinachi Bernice, your favourite content creator. A 2008 study published in The Journal of General Psychology found that early risers procrastinate less than night owls. \n\nIf you’re more of a night owl, however, this may actually be counterproductive. Instead of fighting your circadian rhythm, align your sleep schedule with your body’s natural cycle. If Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg can sleep in until 7 or 8 a.m., I think you’ll be just fine.\n\n\nWhether you rise at 4 a.m. or 8 a.m., I suggest you at least start waking up before everyone else in your home. Personally, this gives me some quiet time before my children clamor for my attention. \n\nIf you’re dreading waking up earlier, gradually work your way up instead of jumping into it. Start by getting up 15 minutes earlier every day for a week; then, wake up 30 minutes earlier the next. Keep doing this until you wake up at your new desired time. (Of course, this means you should start going to bed a little earlier as well.)\n\n\nBanish the snooze button. \n\nBoth Arianna Huffington and Oprah Winfrey avoid using alarm clocks. Instead, they wake up naturally. The reason, as Renzo Costarella explains, is that “when you rise in the morning you want to be ready and energized to tackle the mission ahead.” Hitting the snooze button is really just wasting time. \n\nBesides, because it takes around 90 minutes to get into “good sleep,” dozing off for another 10 or 20 minutes isn’t beneficial. “In fact, it’s often detrimental as it will throw off the rhythm for your entire workday,” Costarella says.\n\n\nAdditionally, if you use your phone as an alarm clock, this prevents you from checking your phone as soon as you wake up. Jari Roomer points out in a Medium post that that’s a good thing — it decreases stress and anxiety and prevents your time from being hijacked. Most importantly, if you kick off the day by getting distracted, you’ll be primed for distractions the rest of the day. \n\nGet into a positive mindset. \n\n\nImagine having a hectic and stressful morning, like oversleeping and then stepping on a toy. You didn’t start the day on the right foot — literally — so how do you think the rest of your day will be? You’re likely to see everything through a dark lens.\n\nYou can set the tone for your day by using your mornings to get into a positive mindset. You can achieve this through meditation, journaling, and practicing gratitude. You could also use self-affirmations, which have been found to improve decision-making and reduce stress. \n\nAlso, take a minute to think about something you’re looking forward to today. In studies, people have actually reported more intense emotions during anticipation than during retrospection. \n\n\nExercise and eat a real breakfast. \n\n“Researchers at the University of Bristol found that people who exercise during the workday have more energy and a more positive outlook, which are both critical to getting things done,” writes Dr. Travis Bradberry. “Getting your body moving for as little as 10 minutes releases GABA, a neurotransmitter that makes your brain feel soothed and keeps you in control of your impulses.” \n\nExercising first thing in the morning means you’ll have the time for it, no questions asked. It will also give you an energy boost to start the day. If you don’t have time to hit the gym, even a quick cardio workout, like a brisk walk, is enough to get endorphins flowing. \n\nAlso, don’t forget to refuel by eating a nutritious breakfast. To avoid the temptation of grabbing a doughnut or greasy breakfast sandwich on the way to work, prep the night before. Having yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, or hard-boiled eggs handy will keep you energized without wasting time.\n\nIf you’re not a breakfast person, at least hydrate yourself with water, lemon, and hot tea, like green, chai, or ginger. A cup of coffee probably wouldn’t hurt, either.\n\nSchedule your to-do list. \n\n\nWhile things are still quiet and you’re in the right mindset, focus on what needs to get done today. Jot everything down, prioritize your to-do list, and then schedule the high-priority tasks on your calendar. \n\n“Scheduling forces you to confront the reality of how much time you actually have and how long things will take,” Cal Newport, author of Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World, said. “Now that you look at the whole picture you’re able to get something productive out of every free hour you have in your workday. You not only squeeze more work in but you’re able to put work into places where you can do it best.”\n\nIf there’s one thing that could help you become more successful, it’s implementing a morning routine. Of course, don’t expect to do this overnight (no pun intended). Tweak things a bit until you find the routine that works best for you — and be consistent until it becomes automatic. Before long, you’ll be fueled every day to make great decisions for both you and your company.\n\n\nJohn Hall\nJohn Hall is the co-founder and president of Calendar, a scheduling and time management app. \n\nI thought this would help someone.\nI am Ezesinachi Bernice, your favourite content creator.\n\nPhoto Credit: Google",

| title | Life's Colours |
| body | Life is as beautiful as you colour it. Life could be in several shades but life is loyal. Life commits to helping the diligent. Sometimes life could seem like a bitter pill ready to spit you out on its hard rocks but other times it could as still as the bottom of the ocean. Sometimes it even seems like its unfair but in reality, life has no shade of colour,it adapts to any colour you choose. No matter how we say life is unfair, life has always proven itself to be fair. This may not seem very true but it is. I'll give you an example. Thomas Edison's teachers said he was "too stupid to learn anything." He was fired from his first two jobs for being "non-productive." As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, "How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?" Edison replied, "I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps." Life wasn't fair to Thomas Edison at the beginning, he failed several times but didn't quit. He persisted knowing that he could give life the kind of colour, he decided, it took a while but his dreams became a reality. He learnt from every failure and improved upon himself. He knew that no matter how tough life got, he had to get tougher, stronger and smarter. Life could get so tough that it chews but don't let it spot you out, stay focused, strong, determined and diligent. Focus on your goals and try your best to get them. Because only then will you have given life a colour of fulfilment, triumph and greater achievement. Thanks for reading. I yearn to be the reason people from various nations smile. I want to colour the world with smiles and live a life that inspires people to pursue their dreams. And so I dedicate this to every orphan, widow, homeless, drop-out and those going through tough times. You are not alone, tough times never last but tough people will. Keep smiling, the world is your stage. |

| title | Life's Colours |
| body | Life is as beautiful as you colour it. Keep smiling, the world is your stage. |

| title | She got engaged |
| body | Yesterday seemed a bit like every other day, the only difference was that she didn't hear the whistle of the train and the crow of old Kenny's cock. It had gotten so accustomed to these sounds and silence were like something strange. Had the railway, gone bad? Had the train chosen another route or maybe Kenny's cock was dead? She rowed on her bed, with her eyes gently opening and closing as though it was begging for just a little more sleep. Kendra had overworked herself the previous day but that was no excuse, she had to shake off the sleep cuddling her eyes and get ready for the new day. She got up from her bed, went straight to her bathroom to take a warm awakening shower. Kendra loved the shower experience so much, anytime she goes in there, you can hear her sweet melodious voice. She sang so beautifully and boldly only the shower, but the crowd, she was very shy. Henry knocked slightly on her house door, tried to open it but it was locked, he could hear voice. He smiled so broadly listening to her sing from the bathroom, then bent down, moved the flower vase at the entrance of her house, took the key hidden beneath it and returned the vase to its position. He opened the door and tiptoed to the bathroom. He tried not to make the faintest of sound, just stood by the shower and listened to her sing. Kendra finished her bathroom, tied her bathing room, open the door leading to her room and was astonished to see Henry on the floor with on knee touching and the other positioned as if he was getting getting ready for a race. Before she could say a word, she brought out the ring case from his back pocket, carefully brought out the ring and asked her to marry him. Kendra said without any hesitation. Yesterday wasn't a day like any other, Yesterday was the day, Kendra got engaged. Photos gotten from Pixabay. #EzeBerniceArticles #fortheloveoflove #loveisbeautiful |

| title | The Locker Room (A tale of a black girl) |
| body | I quit, I quit!! Someone shouted in the locker room. Couldn't pick the voice and I wasn't sure who made that comment so I just continued walking by. I QUIT!!!! The voice resounded. Who could that be I thought but this time I had to pause because I could hear the pain in the stranger's voice. This time I stood still to listen in order to know what really was going on. Then I heard sounds like someone hitting metals with bare hands and also the sound of items falling on the floor. This time, I was certain where the noise was coming from. It was the locker room, I rushed there only to see a colleague venting her anger on the locker doors. It was Bisi (a very cheerful and hospitable personality) I was surprised on seeing her there, a moved to her and asked her "Bisi what's the matter" but she didn't respond, she was just so lost in her thoughts and the next word she uttered as though it was in deep soliloquy is: "I'm just so tired, I can't do this anymore. Quitting is the only option for me right now I just can't deceive my self further". I went closer to her, held her hands but she throws my hands off hers and moves backward. Bisi: "I don't care what my friends would say, I also don't care about what my Facebook friends say either, I'm tired so I quit. My family may call me a quitter but that's their own opinion because I have made my decision, I'm leaving". In bewilderment I asked her where she's leaving to but her response amazed me. Bisi:" I'm leaving this God forsaken hell hole na, Me: Is this place now a hell hole, what's wrong with you? Bisi: Yes, in fact of course yes. Me: (her tautology made me pause a bit) but why? I asked, I had never seen someone so frightened, her hands as though she had carried a very hot slice of yam from a boiling pot, I took up her hands and this time I held her very tightly and this made it impossible for her to refrain her hands. Several thoughts fluttered in my mind, had she murdered someone, what could be the reason behind her wanting to quit. What would push Bisi so hard to a point where she breaks down as though she had no bones. (She's still mute, and that deepens my fright) (You know this mind of ours behaves in a very funny way, it became to read into millions in a second trying to find a logical explanation for this dilemma, the more it persevered in trying to figure out the problem, the more my mind imagined the worst of all things). From my experience I have come to understand the power in a hug, so I grabbed Bisi and hugged her tightly, that even air would find it difficult passing through our embrace. Suddenly I felt something on my right shoulder, where Bisi's head had been leaning on, a drop of tear, so hot like water that had been over boiled. I could tell that the hug had worked to an extent, now it appeared as though Bisi was going to bulge out the reason for her pain, this she did not express in words but by further letting out more tears. Her tears made me feel weak inside, I almost wanted to tell her I knew what she was going through because my life had been one hell of a crazy ride but the way she cried, made me feel like I didn't know even a pinch of what she was going through. I had never seen someone as depressed and shattered as Bisi. Her tears could be likened to a metaphor of a fallen world or a world conquered with earthquake which would be far from my actual reality. What could have been her story and so called hidden reality. The only words I remember uttering at that time was, "its okay Bisi, stop crying the world hasn't ended". I guess those words were just to make her feel better but it wasn't working, she cried her heart and livers out. A part of me felt like leaving her in that room to continue her tears since my persuasions and talks for several minutes had yielded no results but I didn't move an inch from her, I stayed by her side. That's what neighbours do and that's exactly what I did, stay put still she's ready to talk. Bisi, you are paid well right? you have everything you need here, so why quit? I asked but no response came forth. She (Bisi) doesn't utter a word and so I'm yet to get the answer to my question. Only God knows what's on Bisi's mind. I'll try to find out her reason for wanting to leave and I'll get back to you Watch out for the next episode. Note: Don't be the reason why anyone quits. When people give up on themselves, don't give up on them and never call them names. The fact that they failed doesn't mean their failures. You owe everyone a duty of care, care for your friends, colleagues and even your enemies. Your care may go a long way in helping someone come out a depression or recession. I'm Eze Bernice and I care a lot about you. Stay blessed. Please feel free to share your story on the comment box ,your story can save a girl out there, I love you to comment, resteem until every girl girl gets to know Bisi's story. Pictures gotten from Google, story written by me. |

| body | I hate to narrate my story but I will do it, for you my friends not to make the same mistake i made some years ago. My name is Corazon, friends call me Cory-Belle. I'm a lady with a dark skin that glows under the sunlight and that's the reason the name Belle was attached to my nickname. Now let me retell my story. (My mum forewarned but I didn't listen and so the calamity that befell me was solely my doing.) My only crime was love, i was so madly in love with a man. His charisma and charm swept me totally off my feet, i could only see my self gaining balance in his heart. I was so in love, the kind you called blind. This guy had every quality a man could have from sweet talking skills to a promising career and overloads of cash in his bank account. Friends what else could a girl ask for. I called him my Prince Charming and i saw him as a demi god. My mum told me to let him be,that he wasn't the one for me but i didn't want to hear anything contrary to what i felt. She told me that the love that was intoxicating me wouldn't last and she hoped that the scale will fall off my eyes quickly. Gozie told me he loved me, i didn't care to know the extent of his love for me, i felt it didn't matter even if he loved me a little bit or just said it, i was satisfied but i was sure i loved him more and i could do anything for that love. Want to know the full story, then please kindly resteem, show this girl some love by upvoting and expect the full story on my next article. Don't forget to resteem. Thanks. | title | Business Growth, Practical Tips in Bits |
| body | Did you know that the bible offers standard and practical business tips, which brings about great yields both in your finances and managerial control. I guess you didn't, but it does. This isn't any kind of tip, or the try your luck kind but something workable and it a message on the usual seed sowing that we know, its something way different, cool and practical. MacDonald's did it, and so many profound companies have applied this principles, they may not have taken it from the bible but the principle is in the bible, just that so many persons haven't noticed it or carefully taken their tine to understand and digest it. So here it goes, a tip taken from Late Dr. Myles Munroe, a man of Wisdom in all seasons. #First, you Produce #Then you reproduce #Next you Distribute #Finally you Control the market. Note: Every idea is brought about by creativity and lack of creativity brings about poverty. MacDonalds produced one hamburger and saw it was good, maybe after several trials to make theirs standout, they didn't stop there, they forged ahead. They produce another and yet another, meaning they reproduced. Yes production brought income, reproduction also brought more income but the only way they could reach out more effectively was to distribute and they did, having different outlets and furthermore for more customers and maintenance of previous customer relationship. They needed to have a strong market control, they didn't rest when they had several branches of their own, they made sure there was uniformity in production, taste, distribution and services, by so doing they are in charge of the market. Hope you learnt something today. This tip is gotten from the book of Genesis 1:28. #Be fruitful # Multiply #Replenish #Subdue Have a beautiful day ahead and don't forget to upvote, share and resteem. |
