      "body": "<html>\n<p>&nbsp;Us, Liverpool fans, have been saying this for a long time (over 25 years), but this might just be our year. Scored 4+ goals in 5 games out of 11, with 10 different players on the score-sheet, compared to the Suarez-Sturridge-Gerrard-Skrtel quartet who claimed goals at this point of the 13/14 season. You start to feel somewhat similar excitement every time we attack as 3 years ago, but now it’s a completely new team with a completely new manager. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>http://footyroom.com/matches/79922198/liverpool-vs-watford/review</p>\n<p>I always told my dad: “Rodgers is actually a great manager, he just got very unlucky THAT year.” However, his response was always very rational and harsh, perhaps emotionally hard to accept. “If he was a great coach, he would have managed a friendly 0-0 against Chelsea at Anfield”, exactly what an experienced ‘super coach’ would have done. Which we have now. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>Klopp led his Dortmund side to a Champions League final with a team so balanced, that even Csollany Szilveszter - Hungarian Olympic champion in gymnastics - would be jealous of. The set-up of the team is quite similar today. Reliable, ball-playing centre halves who are good in the air and does not look like drunk teenagers on the streets of Brighton while controlling the ball – sorry Sakho. The wing backs are pushed up high, giving width to the team and more space in central areas for the creative players, of which we have an abundance of. Henderson and Emre Can provides the engine and physical presence in the middle of the park, while the former starts to get into the habit of hitting 50 yard diagonals that my hero, Stevie G, would be proud of too. In order for the system to be fluid, Klopp demands his right-winger to stay out wide and make runs in behind. This used to be Blaschikovski (or whoever) for Dortmund, nowadays its the impressive Sadio Mane. The Gotze-Reus duo is now replaced with the Coutinho-Firmino partnership, which is where Klopp adapted to his players, using Bobby (Firmino) as a False 9, due to the scarcity of someone like Robert Lewandowski. You could argue that Daniel Sturridge has the potential for somewhat similar success as his Polish colleague, but he is not quite a Klopp player, whereas a fellow Englishman fits the bill quite exquisitely.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I never thought I would say this, but Adam Lallana is actually a crucial part of the Gegenpressing style, who provides the perfect combination of creativity and hard work, giving the whole team more balance. During the Watford game, it was great to see how many times we won the ball on the opposition half, and I swear, half the time it was the Brit, collecting second balls and reading passes to the deep-lying midfielder. In this case, the victim was Valon Behrami who actually got substituted during the second half as he was mentally destroyed by the Englishman. &nbsp;So we know that we go ‘all in’ in the first 25 minutes of each game – just like 3 seasons ago – and that we usually score 1-2 in that period. However, there is a concern, which is the relaxed, chilled, nearly blasé attitude after going 2-0 up. Once we do that, the team seems to be unable to keep a clean sheet, which has been a problem for a long time – perhaps after Carra retired, apart from that epic 7-8 game run under the Rodgers era when we went for 3 at the back in 2014/15. The Lovren-Matip partnership seems to be improving, so as the form of Karius, but they all need to maintain their concentration levels for 90 minutes if we are to go for the league. &nbsp;<em>When you think about players that you can imagine in a title winning side, here is my evaluation of today’s Liverpool team.</em>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Karius – Not quite there yet, but if he keeps a few clean sheets and gets his confidence on point, he will be a great asset. Plus he is German. &nbsp;Needs improvement.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Clyne &amp; Miler – Both very reliable and rather average on the ball, but as long as they keep their consistency, I wouldn’t mind having them in my title winning side. &nbsp;Yes.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Lovren – He has this outrageous trademark sliding tackle that stops the opposition in counter attack and gets ‘Pool on the front foot, but he does have a few shakey moments. Cut them out, and he could be one of the best CBs in the league, alongside Alderweireld (Tottenham) and Koscielny (Arsenal). &nbsp;Needs improvement.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Matip – Very calm and collected, no wonder that Klopp prefers him to Sakho. The German is quiet, but does not lose the ball, he always picks the safe option and dangerous at set pieces. In contrast, the French was passionate and the fans’ favourite, but me and many fellow Reds were on the verge of a heart attack every time he had the ball as a last man (especially when the only player behind him was Simon Mignolet). 8 years ago I would have said that Matip and Lovren are not title winning players, but now the standards are lower in my opinion, compared to the times of Terry, Ferdinand, Carra, Vidic and so on... &nbsp;Yes.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Henderson – El Capetano, the leader, the engine. He is not the Guardiola type of deep lying playmaker that just quietly controls the game, making 3 metres passes; neither he is the Patrick Viera kind of DM that the opposition fears to face. He works hard, does his own thing, and brings the best out of his teammates. His current form is excellent, you can’t really see him give the ball away and there are not many better DMs around in the league. &nbsp;Yes.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Emre Can – Personally, I think he is the top 3 PL players when you consider 1 on 1 situations. Tottenham’s Dembele and Chelsea’s Kante is outrageous when it comes to these, but he is not far off, plus he has a better haircut. Be calmer, give less balls away, and you too can be on the list. &nbsp;Needs improvement.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Lallana – Already mentioned this, but great asset for Gegenpressing, and during his Southampton days he was named in the Team of the Year by the FA. Why not have him in your title winning side? I wanna see him maintaining his goal and assist record and assuming no injuries, we are in for a rough ride. Needs maintenance. Mane – Yes.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Coutinho &amp; Firmino – Great to see the duo establishing a special partnership, sometimes you can catch them doing somewhat similar things together as the Messi-Suarez-Neymar trio for Barca. They trust each other so much that it does not matter if one another is marked, they still make the pass. Great stuff, Coutinho is arguably the second best ‘Shadow Forward’ in PL after Hazard; and Firmino improves game after game, he is instinctive, plus his ‘bent runs’ often force the opposition to give the ball away. &nbsp;Yes&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I am getting very excited.
