Others have opined that the concept of equality is something that is impracticable hence the agitation for Gender equality.\n   However, whether the agitation seems to be for equal opportunities which is gender equality or agitation for fairness which is gender equity, opportunities in politics seems to be the major focus of these agitations. The rationale for this seems to be that politics rules practically every sphere of life. \n![images 5.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/bongee/4EYNdWox-images205.jpeg)https://images.app.goo.gl/ba6ws91wyZ4UCiSq7\n\n\n In traditional African societies, participation of women in politics was at a very minimal level, however African societies are advancing and thus with the realities of time, women participation have increased although at a very slow pace.\n  It is important to state that Gender shouldn't be a factor in whether or not a person can be a great leader, a person's leadership abilities should depend on their individual strengths and personality traits.\nHowever women most of the times do not get the same encouragement as their male counterparts, not withstanding a lot of women have risen above these constraints and are doing exceptionally well in politics.\n These women have to keep their heads high even in the face of patriarchy, stigmatization, religious and cultural barriers. A woman is naturally endowed with certain qualities such as organisation, multitasking, the ability to carry everyone along, managing and producing results, all these qualities are needed in politics, which makes women outstanding candidates for political positions. A typical example are countries where they have women leaders who have managed this COVID-19 pandemic excellently, the first female president of Taiwan Tsai-ing-wen, was able to control the pandemic and currently Taiwan has no new recorded domestic case. \n![images 6.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/bongee/9VULtqvt-images206.jpeg)https://images.app.goo.gl/KR64YsGRqjokVAFg6\n\n\n By way of encouraging more participation in politics, women must build capacity like their counterparts by being a part of the process and learning the tenents of politics, political parties must offer equal opportunities for women with capacity to deliver sensitization programs to encourage women in politics, establishment of legal funds to assist women politicians to challange electoral malpractices, enabling a condusive environment to encourage healthy competition of women and their male counterparts.\n  Conclusively, every society whether advanced or developing must offer opportunities to everyone irrespective of gender. Nothing sounds much better than this. Football fans all over the world on the 17th of June, 2020, witnessed the return of the world's most watched football league competition back on the screens after a 100-day hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world. \nOn the 11th of March, 2020, hours before the game between the Manchester City versus Arsenal game at the Etihad, the match was postponed till the 4th of April, 2020 as a precautionary measure after it emerged that the coach of the visiting team, Arsenal had contracted the coronavirus likely from a meeting with owner of the Greek champions, Olympiacos who were in London for a Europa League tie which Olympiacos won. The Premier League was heavily criticized for planning to go ahead with the aforementioned game as leagues around Europe had been stopped due to the rising cases all across Europe which was becoming the epicenter of the virus.\nSporting activities worldwide were postponed till a latter period, notably the Tokyo Olympics and Euros which were scheduled to hold this summer but have now been moved to 2021. Nobody, even the top dogs such as FIFA and UEFA were in a quagmire as to the next step to be taken.\nWeeks in, week out, different solutions were being proffered such as nulling and voiding the season, ending the season as it stood based on current table places and the points-per-game system, amongst other. The Project Restart was thankfully, accepted and ratified by the Parliamentary as the country took baby steps to the return of normality and sporting activities. The Premier League was earmarked to restart on the 17th of June 2020, beginning with two of the outstanding fixtures to begin with, Aston Villa at home to Sheffield United and the Manchester City versus Arsenal game. Three phases were to be passed through and adhered to by all EPL clubs, beginning with non-contacts in line with physical distancing guidelines, regular testing, no spitting, etc. However, a lot of players expressed their discontent at the Project Restart citing safety fears of their family, personal background, contract disputes and financial interests, notably in the guise of Watford captain, Troy Deeney, Chelsea midfielder N'golo Kante and Aston Villa defender, Tyronne Mings. \nFollowing series and weeks of training sessions, friendly games between teams in the same county and a massive windfall of tests with a total of 7,487 tests and only 14 players and staff testing positive across all 20 EPL clubs, the season was well and truly ready to get underway, the Premier League restarted with two fixtures which were not short of controversies. Sheffield United and Aston Villa played out a goalless draw with Sheffield United having scored a goal after a goal line scramble but the Goal Line Technology (Hawk Eye) failing to detect it, and post-game apologizing and citing the camera being obstructed by players, its first ever error in over 1,000 plus games in the Premier League. Later that evening, Manchester City defeated Arsenal with an emphatic 3-0 win, in a game which brought a lot of scrutiny on David Luiz, the Brazilian who came on midway in the first for his injured compatriot, Pablo Mari as he made an error leading to the opener by Raheem Sterling and fouling Riyad Mahrez in the second half in the penalty area and getting red carded in the process. The Premier League also stood behind global calls for the elimination of racism in the game and the world at large, after the death of American George Floyd murdered by a white police officer in Minneapolis, with a nice touch of making clubs print the words 'Black Lives Matter' on players' shirts and going one knee before kick-off of matches to be done by both players and officials alike.\n![IMG_20200619_172526_203.JPG](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/bongee/jaNOIorA-IMG_20200619_172526_203.JPG)\nhttps://images.app.goo.gl/SMXZGYo77cedjpWH6\n\nThe Premier League is back but with some significant changes in respect to the pandemic, with socially distanced subs, no pre-match handshakes, no sharing of water bottles, five substitutions at three instalments so as to cope with injuries, etc. The return  of the Premier League, undoubtedly is a welcome development and signifies baby steps to the return of normality in the world. The Premier League has begun and a bumper weekend of games await from 19-22 June with a lot at stake as the battles for the top 4 and relegation heat up with Manchester United, Chelsea, Wolves, Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich all up for a one of a kind season. Let's not waste time bickering.\nThere is nothing a woman can do or wear that should make it right. Absolutely nothing!\nEven if you know she likes you, it doesn't mean she wants to have sex with you at that moment in time. Maybe not yet.\nThe moment you sense a little resistance from any willing female, then it is time to quit. That argument reduces you to a thoughtless beast.\nWhat I'm trying to say is that sex is a thing of the mind. If your mind is absent, you cannot engage in sex. You cannot even have an erection talkless of an ejaculation. Sex is 100% in the mind. The body only tags along.\nSo when you blame the woman's fashion or behavior for her being raped, you are making the case that you have literally lost your mind and your free agency. You are an animal and should be treated like one.\n\nThere are primitive African cultures where fully breasted women walk around their  communities 90% unclad. I mean NUDE. And yet there are no instances of rape because It is alien to their culture.\nDoes that mean the men in that community have no sexual appetite? No. It's in their mind.\nTheir mind has been trained since when they were young boys to view women's body with some respect rather than as sex objects. This training is not conscious. It is ingrained in the culture. Nobody takes them to class and starts teaching them. No. That's not how it works. In pop culture women are sexually objectified and most urban men were exposed to this objectification right from the age of puberty so that the sight of the full breast of a mature woman triggers a chemical reaction in the man's brain. It is a culture of oversexualization. Sadly, women too promote this culture.\n\nThis is where I agree with those who caution women to be careful too.\nAccording to the law of cause and effect, every thing that occurs must have a cause of its occurrence. That means that women must not only understand the over-sexualized pop culture in which their men have been raised, they must seek to know the cause.\n They must begin to teach their sons about mental discipline; how to treat a woman who dresses provocatively.\n![IMG_20200605_174717_040.JPG](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/bongee/FpIpyyVo-IMG_20200605_174717_040.JPG)\n\n\nMy fear is that most women are not equipped to instil such values in their own sons because most of them actually slut-shame women too.\nYes, there are women who still make the same arguments men make above. Women who ask rape victims what she was wearing at the time and why?\nSo as you can see, it is not just a man-problem. It is a pop cultural problem because some women believe that women trigger men into raping them.\nWhy would you dress like a slut and not expect to be raped? They'd query.\nWhy would you go there at such ungodly hour and not expect to be raped? They'd ask.\nTrust me, many women think that way too.\nIf you understand that fact, you'd be less critical of the men. It is a pop culture problem. But in all.. whoever forces a woman's emotions can sniff life out of her and that person's life should be raped out of him.
