bodyIt is not against the Outer Space Treaty to weaponize space. We have already tested ASAT weapons as have the Chinese and Russians, this has been in the news over the past several decades. The OST only bans military bases on the moon and other planets and moons, and deploying nuclear weapons in space. It does not ban any other sort of military activity there. Secondly the Space Liability Convention actually puts a legal burden on the US to exercise lawful jurisdiction over all spacecraft launched from US territory or operated by US agencies or companies. How can you exercise a legal jurisdiction if you cannot place policemen there to enforce that jurisdiction?

bodyAnd no, this is not a reference to the excrable and exploitative "Satoshi is Female" slogan that the SJWs attempting to inroad the blockchain movement wear on t-shirts. Those t-shirts have led quite a few hackers to try to hack the bank accounts of Hal Finney's widow on the flawed logic that she is who those t-shirts are referring to. If anyone in the world does not deserve that sort of treatment, it's Hal's widow. No, she is NOT Satoshi. What I am talking about is the newly released [document] (http://nakamotofamilyfoundation.org/duality.pdf) from a new website titled "[Nakamoto Family Foundation] (http://nakamotofamilyfoundation.org}" that purports to be excerpts of an upcoming book doing a tell-all about bitcoin, Satoshi, and what really went on. I am not going to do any sort of verification or denial of this Satoshi writing. If this is actually Satoshi, he knows how to authenticate his work in incontrovertible ways, and until Satoshi is actually ready to release his actual name, it isn't fair of me to jump the gun. I have enough people asking me who Satoshi is, I am not going to change my answer until Satoshi is good and ready. I can say that the author gets a lot of the facts right about the 2008-2009 period, the bugs in the early versions of the code, and early comments, but all of that is easily found in the Github, on the cypherpunks email list archives, etc. I can also say what his writing seems to exclude. For instance, I know that in 2005, Nick Szabo was finishing his law degree at George Washington University, because he told me so in personal emails. For Satoshi to be working in a university lab in that time period would indicate he was in some STEM discipline and still working on his degree in 2006-2008. So this document would indicate that Nick is not Satoshi. He also says that other than Hal Finney, he worked alone on bitcoin in 2008. I cannot speak to that as I'd gotten away from what we called the Bit Gold discussions in 2006 and went into VR. That he says he started working on bitcoin in 2006 is interesting. Nick stopped writing about Bit Gold in 2006 and a lot of us were getting into virtual world economics at the time since there was a bit of a land rush, figuratively, virtually and literally, in the VR space back then. It seemed like our fantasies of a Snow Crash future were potentially taking hold despite the lack of a First Distributed Republic to create a gold backed cryptocurrency. No, people were building things in the walled gardens of Second Life, Blue Mars, Entropia, and other platforms, and letting the companies controlling those platforms to control the money, the virtual patent office, and peoples virtual identities. By 2010 it had become clear to some of us that the walled garden models were flawed and enabled corporations to turn customers into products. Bitcoin was seen as an option at least to decentralize virtual money. It wasn't yet clear how we could decentralize other parts of the virtual world, but the ideas of building smart contracts into a cryptocurrency had been with us back in the Bit Gold era between 1998 and 2005. Nick had been talking about smart contracts as far back as 1992. I know of a number of individuals who were mining bitcoin back then to buy World of Warcraft gold with it. One friend of mine and his college roommate who bought WoW gold with bitcoin they'd mined calculated in late 2017 that, at November 2017 prices, they'd spent a half a billion dollars of bitcoin on WoW gold between 2010 and 2012. The next week he had posted on Facebook mocking people who spent bitcoin on lamborghinis as if that was a waste of good bitcoin. I had responded, "But J___, Lambos are a MUCH sexier purchase than WoW Gold!" Imagining a means of actually transacting bitcoin for WoW Gold online, via a smart contract that could hold both currencies in escrow, was necessary for uniting all of the walled garden virtual economies. Enabling people to shape shift WoW Gold for Linden Dollars, for Entropia dollars, EVE Online ISK, etc would create a monetary mobility, a fungibility of digital finance that would allow money to flow to where it is valued from where it is not, and encourage platform creators to treat users more fairly in order to avoid users voting with their feet. Why the focus on VR and gaming? Well theres a ton of overlap between VR/Gaming cyberpunks , and cypherpunks. A lot of that overlap is in the transhumanist communities that existed like WTA, Extropy Institute, The Well, and other venues. With the technological singularity, we all see that more and more commerce happens on line, and more real world activities are becoming gamified and have virtual or augmented reality being built into them to varying degrees. Eventually a post-human society will involve a civilization of AI and uploaded personalities interacting in a VR/AR universe. So the shape of that future largely depends on who controls the core services of the economy: money, IP rights, identity, anonymity, etc. These are issues that matter to a lot of people in the "real" world too, but in "real world" applications that can be simulated and tested in VR environments before real world deployment. Anyways, back to the point: is this new website and its document real? They FEEL real to me, but I've read a number of well written fake stories about Satoshi over the years. Until Satoshi tells me personally it's him, I'll wait, and read what is posted. Don't trust. Verify.

"body": "And no, this is not a reference to the excrable and exploitative \"Satoshi is Female\" slogan that the SJWs attempting to inroad the blockchain movement wear on t-shirts. Those t-shirts have led quite a few hackers to try to hack the bank accounts of Hal Finney's widow on the flawed logic that she is who those t-shirts are referring to. If anyone in the world does not deserve that sort of treatment, it's Hal's widow. No, she is NOT Satoshi.\n\nWhat I am talking about is the newly released [document] (http://nakamotofamilyfoundation.org/duality.pdf) from a new website titled \"[Nakamoto Family Foundation] (http://nakamotofamilyfoundation.org}\" that purports to be excerpts of an upcoming book doing a tell-all about bitcoin, Satoshi, and what really went on.\n\nI am not going to do any sort of verification or denial of this Satoshi writing. If this is actually Satoshi, he knows how to authenticate his work in incontrovertible ways, and until Satoshi is actually ready to release his actual name, it isn't fair of me to jump the gun. I have enough people asking me who Satoshi is, I am not going to change my answer until Satoshi is good and ready.\n\nI can say that the author gets a lot of the facts right about the 2008-2009 period, the bugs in the early versions of the code, and early comments, but all of that is easily found in the Github, on the cypherpunks email list archives, etc.\n\nI can also say what his writing seems to exclude. \n\nHe also says that other than Hal Finney, he worked alone on bitcoin in 2008. body![garden1jpeg-ab6b033ac4266dce.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQ6u8BVVHRPdS3ujFHViDEWoyVFWMT5h7LfiApoTu3TUy/garden1jpeg-ab6b033ac4266dce.jpeg) Going back to the mists of technological prehistory there have been debates over the nature of identity, individuality, and the individuals place in society as well as the origin of their personhood. This includes questions over any attendant rights the individual possesses. Since the Enlightenment it has been an accepted truth that all political rights, power and authority originate in the individual sovereign person. Where the person gets those rights remains an issue of dispute between theists and non-theists, but it remains universally recognized. Government is only legitimate so long as it acts with the consent of the governed, and all government power that exists only exists because the individual citizen has delegated some of their sovereign power to that government by consent. I like to paraphrase Descartes to describe this by saying "I think therefore I own myself." However this universal truth has come under attack since the advent of the 3rd industrial revolution (the computer revolution). Where the law of the land until the 1990's was that the individual did not lose their constitutional, natural rights when in a Company Town (i.e. a community which is owned and built and operated by a sole incorporated entity) as stated in Marsh vs Alabama (SCOTUS 1946), the law of the metaverse since the 90's has been the opposite. Cyberpromotions vs AOL (SCOTUS 1992) declared that an online bulletin board is not enough like a real life community to justify protection of individual rights under Marsh. This court ruling enabled the legal basis for what we call the "Walled Garden Business Model" in which the user is converted from a customer who is a sovereign individual, into a product that is the chattel property of the owner of a given network which owns their identity, data, and property. I would argue that as we've moved beyond a 2d flatland internet to a more fully fledged virtual economy and community in 3d metaverse of games, virtual worlds, virtual and augmented reality, that the virtual environment is a lot more like a real life community than like a bulletin board. However, rather than fighting this out in the courts (ultimately it will wind up there as corporate interests fight back) I would propose that there are technological solutions to this conflict. Blockchain technologies are one of these solutions, which when operated independently of any proprietary corporate network, enables the individual to establish their digital identity on chain in an immutable permanent fashion that only they control the existence of. The individual can associate any accounts they use into proprietary networks with that blockchain identity, so their wallet becomes their passport. The blockchain can then be the repository of not only their identity, but of their money to exchange for proprietary tokens, of their virtual content protected by smart contracts on chain to enable better IP protection than proprietary DRM while allowing users to use content across a wider range of platforms, which disincentivizes the tendency toward piracy by presenting a better value proposition, and creators can lower prices since they can market their content in a wider marketplace. All of these advantages of blockchain based identity would be useless without the users ability to use the blockchain in any platform. There are a number of blockchain projects seeking to enable identity registration on-chain but do not have a service delivery mechanism. There are several approaches to this but primarily there is the browser approach and the HUD approach. The browser approach is to build a next generation browser that goes beyond mere 2 dimensional flatland websites and allows the user to browse any 3D environment: games, virtual worlds, virtual and augmented reality platforms, in a platform agnostic way. Each platform would have a plugin that is essentially an emulator for their game engine, and provide an interface for the user to log in with their relevant credentials registered with their on-chain identity. The emulator not only would handle low latency relaying of rendered 3D content but interfaces between the browser wallet and the platforms wallet for that avatar, shape shifting the blockchains liquidity token into the individual platforms game token upon user demand. The HUD approach is a bit more insurgency oriented. It injects a communications tool into any VR/AR/VW platform that allows user created or third party content that resides on the avatar screen as a Head Up Display to enable the user to communicate with any other avatar on any other platform, and allows the user to give free copies to any other user to create a viral infection of this cross platform communications capacity. Utilizing both the browser and HUD model together will create a system that no walled garden can resist. 3D Content for any platform can be registered on the browsers blockchain with a smart contract that is essentially a privatized form of copyright. With upload heuristics that check the contents relevant patterns: mesh node coordinates/relationships, texture byte count and color patterns, animation coordinate sequences, sound note patterns, etc, each registered content item has 'fingerprints' that can be checked against all past content contracts and if they match, provide the uploader the option to pay a royalty to the original creator or decline the upload. This sort of pattern matching heuristic gatekeeper will add a level of IP enforcement that few other DRM schema contain (YouTube has something similar to protect against abuse of copyrighted music). More services can be added to the browser blockchain for virtual governance: dispute resolution due process, insurance, virtual land registration, group registration/incorporation/memberships, events calendars, and community voting. I am currently working on a project/ecosystem building this vision, called [MetaLyfe](http://metalyfe.io). We have the browser developed. We are integrating the crypto wallet for the Lyfe Coin (which can handle any number of other cryptocurrencies) into the browser that browses not only websites and games, but can develop dApps to run in the browser ecosystem. We have developed a virtual smartphone we call the GridFone that your avatar wears as a HUD to communicate cross platform within the immersive environment. With our app store, 3d content store, and blockchain technology, the MetaLyfe ecosystem is designed to tear down the walled gardens, to free each of us from corporate chattellage, and build an Open Metaverse.

bodyA bit about my background: I was once one of the top developers in Second Life, til Linden Lab stole everything, resulting in protracted litigation. Following settlement, I thought the opensim platform simply wasn't ready for prime time and proceeded to work on a better VR/VW platform of my own architecture. That failed to gain investment, so I took a break for a few years, wrote a book, and last year got into OpenSim in the Kitely.com grid, and also started working in venture capital. I have since started a new project, the GridFone, which is intended to be a virtual smartphone for your avatar, on any platform we can provide services, to allow A2A communications between any world, grid, domain, or platform. So, rather than needing a bulky and laggy application like skype, discord, or teamplayer running on your PC as well as your virtual reality/game app, you instead would have a virtual smartphone your avatar would wear as a HUD, enabling you to "call" anybody not just in the platform you are logged into at that time, but any avatar anywhere. I'm keeping this code proprietary. I intend to make a good profit on it. But I also want to use it to enable a truly open metaverse where people can communicate freely. There is currently no such communications solution other than the aforementioned applications that are bulky and lag your processor, taking up large amounts of RAM, which I believe is completely unneeded. SL, and Opensim both use Vivox technology for voice communications, but such calls don't work across the hypergrid, and certainly not between opensim grids and Second Life users. Same goes with text chat. Even the "open"sim grids are pretty walled up due to the very fragile and often breaking linkages of the hypergrid, never mind the opensim grids that are not even hypergridded. So, despite being "open", Opensim isn't very open to user communications. So what is really important here? That users can communicate easily, or that coders have a free opensim app that they can then use to wall customers into their own grid? I think it is more important that users can communicate freely. They say that the fax machine destroyed the Soviet Union. "Samizdat" Networks of political dissidents used them off-hours to transmit the truth about what was going on across their country, and coordinating their activities. I am not a fan of walled gardens any more than I was a fan of the Iron Curtain. Imagine if soviet citizens could have called anyone in the world on the phone without being spied on by the KGB, and find out the truth about what was going on in the world, how their own government really operated? They would have overthrown their own government a lot sooner. That is why China has their "Great Firewall", to block dissidents from communicating effectively with exiles, as well. That is why Cuba put a man in prison who had the chutzpah to set up a few wifi hotspots in Havana. Those seeking to control will always try to restrict people's ability to communicate. Thus, anyone dedicated to the principles of open society should first and foremost embrace opening communications where there are walls and barriers, blockages and constrictions. Information wants to network. The best and most successful ideas are ones that can be shouted from the rooftops without fear of reprisal. "Any place I am standing, is a free speech zone," as the saying goes. At the same time, information wants to be private, because when there are fears of reprisal and restriction for speaking one's mind, secrecy is essential to guarantee the safety of those who dare to speak and spread the truth. Anonymity and pseudonymity are essential rights of privacy. What do you do when the goal of having open software creates such fragmentation in a community that communication becomes impossible?
