Je suis traducteur interprète diplômé dans le couple de langue français/anglais, en consécutif et occasionnellement simultané. Je suis traducteur interprète professionnel depuis Septembre 1981.  J’enseigne en anglais à l’université du Havre depuis 18 ans (management international, éthique des affaires, terminologie …).\n\n2) Citez le personnage vivant, historique ou fictif qui est, selon vous, le représentant emblématique de la culture en question ! \n\nWinston Churchill. Un homme complet. Un politicien brillant, un officier qui a servi son pays, un écrivain talentueux, un premier ministre britannique qui a marqué son époque.\n\n3) Y-a-t-il, dans celle-ci, un mot, une expression, une tradition ou un comportement typique qui vous amuse particulièrement ?\n\n« It rains cats and dogs » (Il pleut des cordes) Cette expression populaire illustre bien l’amour des anglais pour leurs  animaux domestiques.\n\n4) En quoi savoir parler cette langue est important, que ce soit scolairement, professionnellement ou d’un point de vue plus personnel ?\n\nL’anglais est devenu le « latin du 21eme siècle » tant dans le domaine scientifique, la plupart des publications des chercheurs sont en anglais, que dans le domaine des affaires sur tous les continents.\n\n5) Quelle est la difficulté principale de cette langue et ce qui peut favoriser son apprentissage ? \nLa grammaire anglaise est faussement facile elle est très différente dans ses structures de celles des langues latines. Il ne faut pas faire l’impasse sur l’apprentissage de la grammaire et des structures. Le fait d’étudier la grammaire anglaise avec un français, qui après plusieurs années d’étude la maitrise relativement bien, permet d’en comprendre les subtilités.\nJ’explique plus facilement la grammaire anglaise à mes compatriotes que la grammaire française à des étrangers. Je n’ai pas été confronté aux mêmes difficultés étant donné que le français est ma langue maternelle.\n\n6) Une anecdote en rapport avec votre métier ou votre scolarité à nous raconter ?\n\n\nLors de missions d’interprétation (anglais/français) plusieurs de mes clients francophones ou anglophones insistaient pour que je traduise leurs traits d’humour ou leurs  bonnes blagues. L’humour est quelque chose qui est typiquement associé à la langue et à la culture et n’est pas toujours transposable. La meilleure traduction possible ne restituera pas toujours l’effet humoristique obtenu dans la langue originale quand il s’agit de la transposer.\n\n7) Aidez-nous à vous connaître un peu mieux en évoquant vos différents voyages.\n\nDans ma carrière j’ai accompagné des clients anglophones ou francophones dans plusieurs pays. J’ai adoré à chaque fois découvrir de nouvelles cultures et permettre à mes clients de faire l’interface entre les langues et les cultures en présence. L’image qui symbolise le mieux ma vocation est celle du pont «  a bridge between cultures and languages » (un pont entre les cultures et les langues.\nJ’ai aussi dispensé de la formation à des cadres malgaches en visioconférence en utilisant le français et l’anglais. C’est fascinant de pouvoir former des gens à distance  en temps réel, qui sont dans l’autre hémisphère.\n\n8) Qu’est-ce qui fait de vous un Superprof, en + de cette capacité à s’exprimer en plusieurs langues ?\n\nJe sais écouter mes élèves. J’enseigne en anglais à l’université du Havre depuis 18 ans (management international, éthique des affaires, terminologie …).\\n\\n2) Citez le personnage vivant, historique ou fictif qui est, selon vous, le représentant emblématique de la culture en question ! \\n\\nWinston Churchill. Un homme complet. Un politicien brillant, un officier qui a servi son pays, un écrivain talentueux, un premier ministre britannique qui a marqué son époque.\\n\\n3) Y-a-t-il, dans celle-ci, un mot, une expression, une tradition ou un comportement typique qui vous amuse particulièrement ?\\n\\n« It rains cats and dogs » (Il pleut des cordes) Cette expression populaire illustre bien l’amour des anglais pour leurs  animaux domestiques.\\n\\n4) En quoi savoir parler cette langue est important, que ce soit scolairement, professionnellement ou d’un point de vue plus personnel ?\\n\\nL’anglais est devenu le « latin du 21eme siècle » tant dans le domaine scientifique, la plupart des publications des chercheurs sont en anglais, que dans le domaine des affaires sur tous les continents.\\n\\n5) Quelle est la difficulté principale de cette langue et ce qui peut favoriser son apprentissage ? \\nLa grammaire anglaise est faussement facile elle est très différente dans ses structures de celles des langues latines. Il ne faut pas faire l’impasse sur l’apprentissage de la grammaire et des structures. Le fait d’étudier la grammaire anglaise avec un français, qui après plusieurs années d’étude la maitrise relativement bien, permet d’en comprendre les subtilités.\\nJ’explique plus facilement la grammaire anglaise à mes compatriotes que la grammaire française à des étrangers. Je n’ai pas été confronté aux mêmes difficultés étant donné que le français est ma langue maternelle.\\n\\n6) Une anecdote en rapport avec votre métier ou votre scolarité à nous raconter ?\\n\\n\\nLors de missions d’interprétation (anglais/français) plusieurs de mes clients francophones ou anglophones insistaient pour que je traduise leurs traits d’humour ou leurs  bonnes blagues. L’humour est quelque chose qui est typiquement associé à la langue et à la culture et n’est pas toujours transposable. La meilleure traduction possible ne restituera pas toujours l’effet humoristique obtenu dans la langue originale quand il s’agit de la transposer.\\n\\n7) Aidez-nous à vous connaître un peu mieux en évoquant vos différents voyages.\\n\\nDans ma carrière j’ai accompagné des clients anglophones ou francophones dans plusieurs pays. J’ai adoré à chaque fois découvrir de nouvelles cultures et permettre à mes clients de faire l’interface entre les langues et les cultures en présence. L’image qui symbolise le mieux ma vocation est celle du pont «  a bridge between cultures and languages » (un pont entre les cultures et les langues.\\nJ’ai aussi dispensé de la formation à des cadres malgaches en visioconférence en utilisant le français et l’anglais. C’est fascinant de pouvoir former des gens à distance  en temps réel, qui sont dans l’autre hémisphère.\\n\\n8) Qu’est-ce qui fait de vous un Superprof, en + de cette capacité à s’exprimer en plusieurs langues ?\\n\\nJe sais écouter mes élèves.
