Elle est en réalité la formulation la plus exacte de ce qui se passe.  \n**La synthèse : le moteur d'Alcubierre**  \nEn 1994, le physicien mexicain Miguel Alcubierre a publié dans Classical and Quantum Gravity une solution des équations de la relativité générale qui combine exactement ces trois intuitions.  \nLe vaisseau reste immobile dans une bulle d'espace-temps plat — c'est notre sur-place. Devant cette bulle, l'espace-temps se contracte intensément. Derrière elle, il se dilate symétriquement — c'est notre turboréacteur, transposé de la mécanique des fluides à la géométrie de l'espace-temps.
