I left a corporate career after 12 years in advertising and marketing. I changed cities once and homes no fewer than four times. I remarried and was blessed with another healthy baby. I lost my mom to ALS, which launched me on a voracious path of spirituality.\n\nI've become brave enough to share my writing with the world, which is a cathartic and healing process for me. I've devoted my life to yoga, which brings me great joy, health and happiness. I'm about to open my own yoga studio. I have a rewarding travel schedule that allows me to connect with souls near and far.\n\nNone of this has been handed to me. I've endured rejection, judgment, doubt, fear, and a serious lack of resources. Through it all, passion has burned within me and driven me for the sake of a few simple objectives: manifesting the divine, connecting with others, creating mass healing and leaving a trail of infinite and certain joy.\n\nOne of the greatest take-aways from this specific path to date, one that has come up recently in talks with loved ones repeatedly, which is how I know it's time to share it broadly goes like this:\n\nNo one else but you can make you happy.\n\nWhen it comes to your happiness, your joy, your inherent bliss, no one else is going to understand what lights you up but you. This is part of the great human experience. When you consider that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, this takes on another level of resonance.\n\nPut another way, you and I might be sitting at the same dinner table, in the same restaurant with the same tablemates eating the exact same meal. And yet, we would have a different experience of that meal. We might enjoy entirely separate flavors, colors, sounds, sights.\n\nWhy? Because that's our purpose, to learn and enjoy our own preferences, to honor those preferences by speaking them clearly and living them boldly with clarity and without apology, with grace. There's so much wisdom in understanding that you have the freedom to enjoy whatever it is that pleases you, and that you don't have to explain it to anyone else.\n\nIf you can accept that others simply may not understand your choices, your preferences, your desires, you are free to enjoy whatever is to your liking. Then you can stop trying to justify it and start living a life you love.\n\nReclaim your self worth. Stop placing your self worth in the hands of another.",

This is especially true if you haven’t already built up a large following. In order to attract views and upvotes you have to get to know these topics and the types of readers found in each mini-community.\n\nBy and large, the topics are self explanatory. “Libertarian”, “Anarchy”, the general “politics” tag, which seems to have a progressive left lean. “Life”, “food”, “art”, and “health”, are some other popular topics. When you’re selecting your topics both consider your own interests, and also take some time to review past articles that were successful and the overall vibe of the community. By studying past articles, you can see what works. By getting to know the individual community, you’ll have a better idea of how to appeal to and reach out to readers.\n\nIn my experience (and research), two types of articles tend to enjoy the most success. Shorter commentaries on current, breaking events, and longer form intellectual pieces that really dig into a topic or issue, and are generally more “ever green”. To be clear, however, you shouldn’t take this as a hard rule, but as more of a general reflection of one writer. You should do your own research and be willing to experiment as you may uncover your own insights.\n\nIf you go the commentary route, you’re going to stand the highest chance of success if you’re the first one to analyze an issue. The analysis has to be substantive and should make a point or argument. If you just repeat what Reuters is writing on an issue, you won’t be offering as unique of content, and thus may not get as many upvotes even if you get reads.\n\nWith longer form topics you really need to focus on adding value to readers. Write something controversial, or consider an issue from a different lens. Another option is to offer some really stellar and in-depth research. Many of the articles that get to the top of Steemit are longer form, and more in-depth. These critical analysis pieces are both engaging, and offer readers a lot of value.\n\nAs for topics, you have to pursue your own interests. The great thing about Steem is that there are so many different topics, and so many readers interested in these different topics that you can almost certainly find the right topics to write on. Dieting, personal reflection, creative fiction, politics, there are many different options.\n\nWhat’s important is carving out your own niche, and pursuing your passions. Also, spend time trying to create catchy, simple titles that draw readers in. And don’t forget to upload high quality pics. To be honest, Steem is a bit of a hassle when it comes to uploading photos, so some try to skip this step. Big mistake. The extra minute or two you spend uploading a pic can go a long way towards drawing in readers.\n\nBeyond that? Be consistent. Focus on quality. Comment on other people’s posts, and follow them. In turn, they might follow you. Being active in the community will help you build your own name and help you build an audience. Over time, an extensive number of followers will make it easier for you to repeat success.",

These last months the interest has reached a level that is quite amazing.    In one of the last meetings of the algorithmic currency “rocket scientists” group ( a mastermind group), the dozens of people on the call brought in by two Silicon Valley VCs asked quite a number of questions about the details of algorithmic currency mining and the details of mining rigs.   Most of the people on the call have seen specialized ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) Bitcoin Miners.   However, few understood the way Litecoin was mined and what the miners look like.\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUBd3d2GMwdZdFNXLx1SNnpwvD9nq7Sn5eaJ95UfUdXBx/image.png)\n\nAt one point Bitcoin could be profitably mined on a computer’s CPU and later on using the Graphic’s card (GPU) on the computer but the specific way Bitcoin is mined tilted to the development of ASIC designed specifically for Bitcoin mining.  \n\nLitecoin was designed to limit the usefulness of ASICs.  There are a few ways ASICs could increase the productivity of Litecoin mining but there are technical limits.  The creators of Litecoin saw the Bitcoin mining community was in what is called the “arms race” to find faster and faster mining rigs.  This has the prospect of overly centralizing mining and Bitcoin confirmations into a smaller group then the apparent intention of the Bitcoin creators.  Thus Litecoin has tried to address this issue by making the mining of Litecoin profitable enough for smaller operators.  I might add that Bitcoin has once again become very profitable to mine for a smaller operation with the right ASICs as the price reaches above the conversion into $1,000.   Just about all of the algorithmic currencies that are not Bitcoin are based on the Litecoin model. \n\nThe Coins Are In The Scrypt\n\nLitecoin is in the place that Bitcoin was about 14 months ago.  Thus I am not surprised that during the last call with these VCs there was a tremendous amount of questions about exactly Litecoin is mined.  \n\nMost miners work in groups called pools and share the hashing and share the resulting coins that are mined.  It sounds far more complex then it is in practicality as the software and pooled mining sites do most of the work.",
