| body | Hi @akshaybaba94 and Everyone, Our team, @EOS9CAT came with a very short explanation and hope it would be helpful for everyone here. **Distributed means** not all the processing of the transactions are done in the same place. This does not mean that those distributed processors aren't under the control of a single entity. (Think of gas stations, there are Shell stations all over yet all are Shell) **Decentralized means** that not one single entity has control over all the processing. By nature, this implies that it is distributed among various parties. | title | Top 5 safe cryptocurrencies to invest in during this dip |
| body | Number 5 : Bitcoin Why is bitcoin not number one on this list? For starters, its market dominance has been at its lowest and it is only going lower. It is clunky and slow and the fees even though diminishing as of late is still high. Scaling solution doesn’t directly solve this problem either. Lightning network, segwit and atomic swaps are far from truly being implemented. The community is divided and it is difficult to gain immediate consensus since the development is so decentralized. All that being said, you won’t find another Bitcoin fork on our list. This is because Bitcoin is popular not just because new investors think of it as a store of value but because institutional investors, crypto whales and day traders all use BTC as a standard denomination for cryptocurrency trading. For any cryptocurrency emphasis on currency to replace it and create a flippening it would first need to be used as a trading pair for by exchanges exclusively while offering more trading pairs in BTC. Despite there being many good currencies in the crypto space such as Nano and Litecoin it will take some time before another coin takes over the king. So why is Bitcoin on this list at all then? Bitcoin has been around for 9 years right now and that time it survived one of the most catastrophic mismanagement of funds since Charles Ponzi in the form of Mount gox. It survived hard forks, FUD attempts, market manipulation, government regulation and if you believe the media bitcoin dies about twice a week. It’s also the only cryptocurrency that most regular people outside of crypto know about. Be honest with yourself before you took an interest in cryptocurrencies did you know about any other crypto outside of bitcoin, maybe Ethereum or dogecoin but for most people, they have no idea what nano or Litecoin or many other cryptocurrencies are. Media blitzkrieg and first mover advantage means new money will always be pouring into bitcoin as long as cryptocurrency is seen as a viable investment, additionally, no other cryptocurrencies have futures contracts, bitcoins long-term gameplan might look bleak when faced with competition from its younger shinier and sexier competitors. However, 2018 is not going to be the year it dies. No one knows whether it will be pumped to $100.000 or $1.000.000 in the future but bitcoin still has a lot of life left in it. Your bitcoins might not double in value but expect stable organic growth in 2018 for the time being Bitcoin is here to stay. Number 4 : Omisego Next, up on our list, we have Omisego, the Omisego platform is just getting started and it still has a long way to go but right now is one of the most interesting cryptocurrencies. They don’t just have a great business bottle they also have a great vision for the future of payments, we love the fact that they’re targeting southeast-Asia’s financial system which is practically screaming out for a better solution. When you factor in the McDonalds partnerships, their four years of proven experience in the payment industry, their solid developing team and marketing skills this feels like a crypto to hold in 2018. That being said Omisego is a sleeping giant in some respects so it may take some time before it truly takes off and it’ll just have some slow organic go through 2018 but it is not a bad thing, in fact, it is a great time. Number 3 : Waltonchain At number three on our list we have Waltonchain, Waltonchain just won the 2018 outstanding blockchain award at the first summit forum of blockchain in southeast Asia they just had an event where they signed 8 strategic partnerships and they are also revealing details related to rebranding. In time they will announce their blockchain release as well as details on rewards for master nodes which we believe will be around 20% given that it takes 5000 WTC (Waltonchain) to run a master node you’re effectively receiving nearly $40k in Walton through dividends at today’s prices and prices we think will go up this year so it even gets better. Walton is spending a lot of time in 2018 building up partnerships and working on their tech. It’ll be a slow growth year with a couple breakouts here and there. But essentially based on their roadmap 2019 will be an explosive year for Walton as they start to roll out their RFID solution. With their announced partnership with China, mobile Walton chain is entangled in the middle of a network of world-leading IOT corporations and endless Opportunites for adoption globally in countless different industries. Waltonchain is positioning themselves to be the single connector of the entire internet of things initiative put forward by the china mobile iot alliance for many many different reasons Waltonchain is one of our favorite coins to be held in 2018 and we really think you should give this on a look over. Number 2 : NEO Next up we have NEO, so the world is changing, cryptocurrencies are no longer just currencies but something smarter and the Chinese Ethereum is one of the most undervalued products in the market right now. Right from its inception as Antshares NEO was hailed as the next big dApp and sparked contracts platform it’s tech is already being used and neo is gaining weight as a major industry player, the fact that they have Chinese government partnerships as well as major business partnerships is what will keep it growing in 2018 you’ll find exchanges, especially Asian ones such as Binance and Kucoin, start to list neo as a major trading pair fully expect the volume price and use of the neo token to go up. The fact is China is one of the leaders in cryptocurrency in innovation and in investment so it makes sense neo will be used to prop up the smart contract tech that most new coins will be built on as for these reasons we dont believe china is going to ban cryptocurrencies because china is not going to shoot themselves in the foot. They are going to enforce and regulate but they’re not going to ban it is how things are done in China. Look at how they enforced the internet, the great chinese firewall. They didn’t ban the internet they’ve just done things their way, so we fully anticipate that this is going to continue with cryptocurrencies this trend. Number 1 : Ethereum All hail the king, one might make the argument that Ethereum has changed cryptocurrency more in three years than bitcoin has done in 9. Since its launch, Vitalik Butarin has managed to drive the Ethereum project to second place on the global market cap with the Ethereum enterpise alliance. There’s a really good chance if bitcoin falls from its number-one spot it will be replaced by Ethereum. Holding Ethereum is like holding the ultimate blue chip stock, it is a big project run by extremely talented developers who have delivered a product that is already changing the world. Most new coins that are coming out today are ERC20 tokens running of the Ethereums blockchain. The Ethereum network currently processes more than one million transactions per day which are larger than every other cryptocurrency combined. There is network congestion and fees have been slowly rising but the length and breadth of applications for this blockchain are immense. From crypto kitties to decentralized exchanges to insurance contracts. Ethereum enables it all. Ethereum is a long-term hold, the dividends will really start to pay off when sharding is implemented which is purported to be sometime in early 2018. Coins like bitcoin and ripple have a limited use case when compared to Ethereum which is poised to become the backbone of every smart contract transaction in the world. Once that happens Ethereum has won the cryptocurrency game for the foreseeable future. That was our list, some may wonder why we haven’t included and privacy or exchange coins. These are great coins don’t get me wrong at all. However, we don’t feel comfortable recommending as completely bulletproof gainers given these are coins that all takes is one critical flaw for them to be completely eviscerated. The privacy coin and the exchange space are incredibly competitive. If a privacy coin is found to be hackable or not truly sending anonymous transactions. Or if an exchange gets hacked like mt. Gox that could be the end of them and suddenly you’re out of a lot of money. So that’s why we stuck to currencies, utility coins and platforms for this article. |

| title | Confused about XRP vs RippleNet |
| body | I have a small bone to pick with every display of information or communication (including Ripple’s PR team) that refers to ‘XRP’ as ‘Ripple’. If I’m honest, its more of a tiny stone in a shoe but I think the potential misconceptions of what Ripple does as an organisation and ‘Ripple (XRP)’ the cryptocurrency may be leading some of us mildly astray — or at least we could use some clarification so we’re all a little bit more informed. As you’re here I assume you know what a blockchain is and some basics around cryptocurrency (their concept as a digital asset; what they are and how they are exchanged on blockchains). If you’re looking for an XRP price prediction, you might find one in one of Ripple Ripple is an organisation — https://ripple.com RippleNet Ripple’s solution to a singular experience to send money globally. Its an ecosystem currently made up of xCurrent; xRapid and xVia — https://ripple.com/solutions/ Interledger Protocol (ILP) Invented by Ripple, developed by the Interledger W3C Community Group, it is xCurrent Ripple’s bank-to-bank cross-border (international) settlement solution. Its Ripple’s pièce de résistance and could be seen as a potential replacement to SWIFT — https://ripple.com/solutions/process-payments/ xRapid (X-R-P-d…) Ripple’s liquidity (cold hard FIAT exchanges— $ USD; £ GBP; € EUR; ¥ YEN etc) solution for payment providers; other financial institutions and RippleNet exchanging in XRP— https://ripple.com/solutions/source-liquidity/ XRP The digital asset required for conducting xRapid transactions. xVia Ripple’s standardised ‘I want to send a payment’ component for RippleNet — Removing the stone When an institution using RippleNet (this is more than a bank, we’re talking payment processors and what not as well) require liquidity, they’ll hopefully use xRapid (and need XRP when they do). Institutions on RippleNet could in theory not use xRapid for liquidity and stick to their traditional legacy means if they feel like it… but in my view they are demotivated to do so because xRapid is likely to be quicker or cheaper once they have implemented it (and everyone likes a frictionless ecosystem). When institutions sign up to RippleNet and want to use xRapid, they will probably buy XRP from Ripple. If they do buy XRP instead of simply receive some, it is highly unlikely they will buy at prevailing public market rate — |

| title | 10 Startups Leveraging Blockchain Technology in India |
| body | The concept of blockchain technology was formulated in 2008. However it is safe to say that it remained as an area of interest only for virtual currency enthusiasts until recently. 2016 became the year when it became a buzzword. At present, several large technology and financial corporates have ventured into R&D of the tech that mostly startups saw an opportunity in. Before we jump to the list of Indian companies who are finding their own ways to innovate in this area, let’s take a quick look at what blockchain actually is. What is Blockchain Technology? A blockchain can be described as a share, secure ledger of records, that are arranged in batches called blocks. These blocks exist as a continuously-growing list, and cannot be altered. Each block references and identifies the previous block, thus creating an unbroken chain. In simple terms, think of a database that automatically updates itself whenever a change is made. And this database is distributed over a network of individual systems called nodes. Each node maintains a copy of the block. Hence in case of updating, retrieving or validating any data, all of its past records could be obtained easily. Below is an image by Blockgeeks describing how it works Blockchain Technology India As also shown in the image above, blockchain technology is mostly being used in virtual currency transactions. Virtual currencies, such as bitcoins, don’t quite have defined legal guidelines or regulations governing their exchange. And since have gained substantial popularity, blockchain technology is the best available way to ensure transactions happen securely in a completely anti-fraudulent manner. Now since no block can be altered, the transaction trail cannot be erased. Because of this reason, the technology is finding use cases in several other areas as well, including financial services, retail, trading, legal, healthcare, and pretty much any business that involves record keeping. The video by BBC given below, shows how some of the companies are trying to utilise the technology. Startups Working on Blockchain Technology in India Coinsecure Coinsecure calls itself ‘India’s Bitcoin Exchange’. It’s a real time trading platform for bitcoins, and offers a wallet to store the same. It offers blockchain API to developers, and had partnered with global blockchain money transfer network, OKLink, earlier this year, to bring blockchain driven remittances in India. Founders: Mohit Kalra, Benson Samuel Founding Year: 2014 Headquarters: Delhi EzyRemit EzyRemit is working on building various enterprise products using blockchain as the backbone. Its solutions portfolio include cross border remittance, Digital identity on blockchain, Gift cards wallet on blockchain and Digital certificate on blockchain. Founder: Vishal Anand Founding Year: 2015 Headquarters: Bangalore Hashcove Hashcove is the blockchain arm of 5 year old FinTech firm uTrade Solutions. Founders: Ravi Jagannathan, Karthik Balasubramanian Founding Year: 2016 Headquarters: Bangalore Primechain Technologies Primechain is one a mission of “building blockchains for a better world”. It has 3 products in its portfolio, including – D.A.V.E or Data Authentication and Verification Engine, a private-blockchain powered technology platform for authentication, verification and storage of electronic records etc. Founder: Shinam Arora Founding Year: 2016 Headquarters: Pune Psi Phi Global Psi Phi Global aims to revolutionise the digital economy with blockchain technology, and is primarily focusing on three sectors – healthcare, telecom and supply chain. It offers one product at the moment, a Cryptolocker to Store and Share documents on blockchain using a set of APIs. It is working on Digi Rail – A Multi-party shared database to optimise supply-chain data flow. Founders: Gaurav Kumar, Harsh Pokharna and Aditya Prasad Founding Year: 2016 Headquarters: Faridabad RecordsKeeper RecordsKeeper is a decentralized, incorruptible and unchangeable storage facility for digital documents built on Blockchain for record keeping. The startup aims to replace the cloud storage technologies like Dropbox or Google Drive. It offers a SaaS version for enterprises as well. Founder: Toshendra Sharma Founding Year: 2015 Headquarters: Gurgaon Signzy Signzy is leveraging blockchain technology to build APIs for multiple use cases. It offers facilities like document storage, signing, validation etc., all using the same tech. It offers a digital on-boarding solution for banks, NBFCs and other financial institutions. Founders: Ankit Ratan, Arpit Ratan and Ankur Pandey Founding Year: 2015 Headquarters: Bangalore Trestor Trestor is a technology startup involved in multiple different projects, one of which is in blockchain technology. Trestor offers users to make transaction using its own virtual currency called ‘Trests’. It transfers the Trests through its owb blockchain and decentralised network of nodes. Founder: Kunal Dixit Founding Year: 2015 Headquarters: Chandigarh XS GetXS is building a way to protect one’s digital identity by creating a unique identifier for each user on public blockchain infrastructure. The firm aims to eliminate the need of users to remember multiple passwords by giving them a unique digital key, that can be used at every platform. Founder: Hitesh Malviya Founding Year: 2016 Headquarters: Mumbai We haven’t included startups specifically focussed on bitcoin handling and trading, even though they might be using the same tech too. Also, there are a few service firms which offer assistance to startups and enterprises building products based on blockchain technology such as MindDeft and Auxesis. If there is any firm which we missed, please share in the comments below, we’ll update the list. https://youtu.be/2ky3mDUoh74 |

| title | Blockchain -The idea of decentralization |
| body | By design, the blockchain is a decentralized technology. Anything that happens on it is a function of the network as a whole. Some important implications stem from this. By creating a new way to verify transactions aspects of traditional commerce could become unnecessary. Stock market trades become almost simultaneous on the blockchain, for instance — or it could make types of record keeping, like a land registry, fully public. And decentralization is already a reality. A global network of computers uses blockchain technology to jointly manage the database that records Bitcoin transactions. That is, Bitcoin is managed by its network, and not any one central authority. Decentralization means the network operates on a user-to-user (or peer-to-peer) basis. The forms of mass collaboration this makes possible are just beginning to be investigated. | body | The blockchain network lives in a state of consensus, one that automatically checks in with itself every ten minutes. A kind of self-auditing ecosystem of a digital value, the network reconciles every transaction that happens in ten-minute intervals. Each group of these transactions is referred to as a “block”. Two important properties result from this: Transparency data is embedded within the network as a whole, by definition it is public. It cannot be corrupted altering any unit of information on the blockchain would mean using a huge amount of computing power to override the entire network. In theory, this could be possible. In practice, it’s unlikely to happen. Taking control of the system to capture Bitcoins, for instance, would also have the effect of destroying their value. Vitalik Buterin, inventor of Ethereum “Blockchain solves the problem of manipulation. When I speak about it in the West, people say they trust Google, Facebook, or their banks. But the rest of the world doesn’t trust organizations and corporations that much — I mean Africa, India, the Eastern Europe, or Russia. It’s not about the places where people are really rich. Blockchain’s opportunities are the highest in the countries that haven’t reached that level yet.” Vitalik Buterin, inventor of Ethereum |

Taking control of the system to capture Bitcoins, for instance, would also have the effect of destroying their value.\n\nVitalik Buterin, inventor of Ethereum\n\n“Blockchain solves the problem of manipulation. When I speak about it in the West, people say they trust Google, Facebook, or their banks. But the rest of the world doesn’t trust organizations and corporations that much — I mean Africa, India, the Eastern Europe, or Russia. It’s not about the places where people are really rich. Blockchain’s opportunities are the highest in the countries that haven’t reached that level yet.”\nVitalik Buterin, inventor of Ethereum",

| title | Blockchain Durability and robustness |
| body | Blockchain technology is like the internet in that it has a built-in robustness. By storing blocks of information that are identical across its network, the blockchain cannot: Be controlled by any single entity. Has no single point of failure. Bitcoin was invented in 2008. Since that time, the Bitcoin blockchain has operated without significant disruption. (To date, any of problems associated with Bitcoin have been due to hacking or mismanagement. In other words, these problems come from bad intention and human error, not flaws in the underlying concepts.) The internet itself has proven to be durable for almost 30 years. It’s a track record that bodes well for blockchain technology as it continues to be developed. Ian Khan, TEDx Speaker “As revolutionary as it sounds, Blockchain truly is a mechanism to bring everyone to the highest degree of accountability. No more missed transactions, human or machine errors, or even an exchange that was not done with the consent of the parties involved. Above anything else, the most critical area where Blockchain helps is to guarantee the validity of a transaction by recording it not only on a main register but a connected distributed system of registers, all of which are connected through a secure validation mechanism.” |

| body | What is Blockchain Technology? Is blockchain technology the new internet? The blockchain is an undeniably ingenious invention – the brainchild of a person or group of people known by the pseudonym, Satoshi Nakamoto. But since then, it has evolved into something greater, and the main question every single person is asking is: What is Blockchain? By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied, blockchain technology created the backbone of a new type of internet. Originally devised for the digital currency, Bitcoin, (Buy Bitcoin) the tech community is now finding other potential uses for the technology. Bitcoin has been called “digital gold,” and for a good reason. To date, the total value of the currency is close to $9 billion US. And blockchains can make other types of digital value. Like the internet (or your car), you don’t need to know how the blockchain works to use it. However, having a basic knowledge of this new technology shows why it’s considered revolutionary. So, we hope you enjoy this, what is Blockchain guide. |

| body | 1. IS-95 reverse link frequency band is 824-849MHz and forward link frequency band is 869-894MHz. 2. A PCS version of IS-95 has designed for international use in the 1800-2000MHz band 3. A forward and reverse channel pair is separated by 45MHz for cellular band operation. Many users share a common channel for transmission. The maximum user data rate is 9.6kbps.User data in IS-95 is spread to a channel chip rate of 1.2288Mcps using a combination of techniques. This spreading process is dierent for forward and reverse links. 4. On the forward link the user data stream is encoded using a rate ½ Convolutional code, interleaved and spread by one of 64 orthogonal spreading sequences. Each mobile in a given cell is assigned a dierent spreading sequence providing a perfect separation among the signals from the dierent users. To reduce interference between the mobiles that use the same spreading sequence in dierent cells all signals in a particular cell are scrambled using a pseudorandom sequence. 5. Orthogonally among all forward channel users within a cell is preserved because their signals are scrambled synchronously. A pilot channel is provided on the forward link so that each subscriber within the cell can determine and react to the channel characteristics. 6. On the reverse link a dierent spreading strategy is used since each received signal arrives at base station via dierent propagation path. The reverse channel user data stream is first convolutionally encoded with a rate 1/3 code. Aer interleaving each block of 6 encoded symbols is mapped to one of the 64 orthogonal Walsh functions providing 64-ary orthogonal signalling. A final fourfold spreading giving a rate of 1.2288Mcps is achieved by spreading the resulting 307.2kcps stream by user specific and base station specific codes. 7. The rate of 1/3 coding and mapping onto Walsh functions result in a greater tolerance for interference. This added robustness is important on the reverse link due to the non-coherent and the in-cell interference received at the base station. 8. Another essential element of reverse link is tight control of each subscriber’s transmitter power to avoid the near-far problem that arises from varying received power of the users. Open and close loop power control is used to adjust transmitted power. Power controls are sent at a rate of 800 bps. 9. At both base station and subscriber RAKE receivers are used to resolve and combine the multipath component thus reducing the degree of fading. |

On the forward link the user data stream is encoded using a rate ½ Convolutional code, interleaved and spread by one of 64 orthogonal spreading sequences.\nEach mobile in a given cell is assigned a dierent spreading sequence providing a perfect separation among the signals from the dierent users. To reduce\ninterference between the mobiles that use the same spreading sequence in dierent cells all signals in a particular cell are scrambled using a pseudorandom\nsequence.\n5. Orthogonally among all forward channel users within a cell is preserved because their signals are scrambled synchronously. A pilot channel is provided on the\nforward link so that each subscriber within the cell can determine and react to the channel characteristics.\n6. On the reverse link a dierent spreading strategy is used since each received signal arrives at base station via dierent propagation path. The reverse channel\nuser data stream is first convolutionally encoded with a rate 1/3 code. Aer interleaving each block of 6 encoded symbols is mapped to one of the 64 orthogonal\nWalsh functions providing 64-ary orthogonal signalling. A final fourfold spreading giving a rate of 1.2288Mcps is achieved by spreading the resulting 307.2kcps\nstream by user specific and base station specific codes.\n7. The rate of 1/3 coding and mapping onto Walsh functions result in a greater tolerance for interference. This added robustness is important on the reverse link\ndue to the non-coherent and the in-cell interference received at the base station.\n8. Another essential element of reverse link is tight control of each subscriber’s transmitter power to avoid the near-far problem that arises from varying received\npower of the users. Open and close loop power control is used to adjust transmitted power. Power controls are sent at a rate of 800 bps.\n9. At both base station and subscriber RAKE receivers are used to resolve and combine the multipath component thus reducing the degree of fading.",
