      "body": "I just finished reading @neilstrauss expanded Rolling Stone article on Steem. Elon Musk is a topic worth of a writer like Neil, and he did not disappoint. I'm actually considering a Rolling Stone subscription after this. I've been a fan of his for a while, and covering one of the most important humans in the world right now is a monumental task, Neil did it perfectly.\n\nSo, first of of, thank you @neilstrauss for sharing it with us on this platform. It's exactly the kind of thing that gets me excited about the possibilities of the Steem community.\n\nBelow are some of my 5 favorite parts of the interview:\n\n1. \"He laughs at the expression, and I understand now that Musk didn't have me over to talk about his projects and vision. There's nothing to be gained from talking about the problems of science with someone who doesn't understand them. At the end of the day, he just wants to unwind and laugh about the world he's trying to improve.\"\n Great lesson to be learned from this one: <b>Talk to everyone, but not about everything.</b>\n\n2. “Rule No. 1: Don’t panic.”\nThat one of the most important, thoughtful, innovative people in the world has rules in his family, makes total sense, but that the first rule is \"Don't panic\", is what makes Elon so unique. And that he borrows it from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, makes him relateable. <b>Trust yourself that you will figure it out.</b>\n\n3. \"Then he starts flipping through the pages, each one a parody New York Times Magazine -style cover, and reading them out loud to me. He cracks up for almost five minutes straight, so hysterical that sometimes he’s breathless.\"\n\"This usually involves Musk adding Easter eggs and personal references to the products, such as making the Tesla sound-system volume go to 11 (in homage to Spinal Tap )\"\n  <b>Comedy is an important part of life.</b>\n\n4. \"The woman, it turns out, is Talulah Riley, his second wife. They met in 2008, and Musk proposed after 10 days together.\"\nDespite different background and ages, he fell in love and married Tallulah in 10 days.       "body": "I was wondering what I would write about for my second post, but it became really obvious after waking up this morning and checking the market: Crypto prices.\n\nAs you already know, crypto prices tanked last night. It started with Bitcoin yesterday, and it finally took the rest of coins with it. Is this going to be a short-term correction, or more of a long-term drop towards its actual value?\n\nWhat I mean by actual value is, the value that the coins are actually providing society, not just the potential. The potential value is still there, and has been powering the rise of prices for the past year, but the actual value of what is being created is not nearly 500 billion dollars worth, yet.\n\nI think the main reason that the market is crashing, is that whales cashing out. Whales, the large holders of particular crypto coins, can move the market and manipulate it to their benefit. Instead of malicious manipulation though, I think that some whales are just trying to cash out while the prices have had this incredible rise over the past couple of weeks. If you believe in the potential of the technology of a particular coin, then heck yes, buy away. \n\nBut you have to think about the larger market as well. Whales can, and do drive prices. Additionally, end of year means that people may start doing some cashing out to pay for taxes, now that the IRS is becoming much more interested in this.  So, it's not clear that today is the lowest it will go.\n\nOf course, who actually knows. \n\nWhat about Steem prices?\n\nI'm a believer in Steem and think it is one of the few coins actually adding value to society right now. Many of the other coins are good on an academic level, but steem has an actual community building something. And I think it's building something pretty great.",
