      "body": "Blackman and Slater have created a fantastic superhero series. I'm not a comic book, DC or Marvel universe viewer typically, but I have watched both films and series of the genre so I do have something to compare to. I was hooked and binged this season in one day. This series has excellent direction, writing, special effects, cinematography, soundtrack and acting. All the actors involved deliver top notch performances so for once I won't single anyone out in particular. The plot revolves around a dysfunctional family of superheroes brought back together by their father's death. Some in the family believe his death was not natural and that's where the mystery begins. We learn how the family was formed, we learn about their mother who actually named them, we're introduced to their advisor of sorts who is a chimpanzee, we meet a detective and most importantly we learn about each character's power and flawed past. All the characters are different in their own ways but compliment eachother perfectly. While this is happening one of the superheroes who had been missing for sixteen years returns through a time portal and is being hunted by two mysterious killers hell bent on taking him down and the others as collateral damage. The superhero who returns has aged mentally but physically appears as he did when he disappeared. His power to jump through time has shown him an apocalyptic future amongst other things. His goal is to change the future and save all of humanity including his family. There is some examination of the definition of family and loyalty. I could also scrutinize good versus evil, but I simply enjoy these types of series / films for entertainment purposes only. So for this viewer the series unreservedly delivers. The plot is unique, clever, dark, funny, action packed, violent, gritty, quirky and duplicitous. This is a captivating and mesmerizing series.       "body": "Damp, clumsy and too twisted for the viewer to lose any interest in the plot. The only thing that works in this pseudo spy-thriller is the expressions of Jennifer Lawrence. The climax was nice.       "body": "What an debut by India with it very own Netflix series.Very well written, directed and well shoot. Use of Mumbai is brilliant the story narrative has its own pace and is not rushed into but it holds the audience attention throughout the story.\n\nEach character even it's has a screen space of few minutes leaves and impact.       "body": "Hostages is a crime-drama Hotstar web series based on an Israeli series with the same name. Even though the plot looked superb in the trailers, the direction left a lot to desire thanks to lots of gaping holes. The Doctor herself became an investigator - breaking windows to enter homes and doing everything possible except being a surgeon! \n\nThe biggest shocker is that it was never explained properly why the plotters wanted to kill the CM! Alex wolff is stunning as Peter the eldest brother. His character is the one which we can relate to more. Just like him we are not aware of whats going on.Gabriel byrne as the father is the only one in the family with a little bit of conscience.His characters makes you root for him...he is the one who is really going through a conflict. Ari aster has made sure that every character has a layer to justify themselves this is what makes the film more and more enjoyable. \nThe movie takes you to hell of a roller-coaster ride which will make you sick to your stomach. The music by colin stetson really sets the mood of the film. Mind you the last 20 minutes of the film is really a sight to behold and the background scores makes it even more disturbing to watch. There is one Dinner scene where Annie and peter have a fight is undoubtedly one of the best scenes ever made in cinema.....I can understand why not everyone liked this film,see nowadays we are so accustomed to see jump scares and monsters that we have forgotten what real horror is .
