It is a very traditional soup similar to the bitterleaf soup but cooked with Ora leaves. Ora (Oha) Soup is special because the tender ora leaves used in preparing this soup recipe are seasonal unlike their bitterleaf counterpart which can be found all year round.\n\n![ora-soup.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRD8VzK2PR5zMpcqyF4A7EszNyziLQZ28RTZKoaWoypSQ/ora-soup.jpg)\n\nHow to Cook Ora Soup with Cocoyam Flour.\n\nThough it is only the vegetable that distinguishes the Ora Soup and the Bitterleaf Soup, they taste so different that it is hard to believe the difference just one ingredient can make in a recipe.\n\nRecipes for Ora (Oha) Soup.\n\nVegetable: Ora leaves\n8 small corms cocoyam\n3 cooking spoons Red Palm Oil\nAssorted Beef: Includes best cut, shaki (cow tripe)\nAssorted Fish: Dry Fish and Stock Fish\nChilli pepper, salt and crayfish (to taste)\n2 Stock cubes\n1 teaspoon Ogiri Igbo\n\nNotes on the ingredients:\nOra (Oha) is a unique vegetable hence does not have a good alternative.\nIf you cannot buy cocoyam corms where you live, you can use cocoyam flour. An alternative to cocoyam flour is potato flour. See how to prepare the cocoyam flour or potato flour before adding it to your soup.\nOgiri Igbo is optional, it gives Ora Soup a traditional taste.\n\nBefore you cook the Nigerian Ora Soup.\n\nGrind the crayfish and pepper and set aside.\npound cocoyam\nWash and boil the cocoyam corms till soft. Remove the peels and use a mortar and pestle to pound the corms to a smooth paste.\nUsing your fingers, cut the Ora (Oha) leaves into tiny pieces. This technique is to prevent the vegetable from becoming darker in colour. This happens when you cut the ora leaves with a knife.\n\nCooking Directions.\n\nBoil the shaki (cow tripe), stock fish and dry fish in 1 litre of water till they are well done. First sign of a done shaki is that the cuts will start curling on itself.\nWash the beef and add to the pot of shaki etc. and continue cooking. When the meat is done, add 2 stock cubes and cook for 5 minutes.\nAdd the pepper, ogiri Igbo and ground crayfish and cook for 10 minutes. Add the cocoyam paste in small lumps and then the palm oil.\nCover the pot and leave to cook on high heat till all the cocoyam lumps have dissolved. Following three successful years for the Bombay university in the\nRohinton Baria Trophy, he made the Bombay\nRanji team in 1975–76. After being on and off the team for three seasons, he played his first major innings against Delhi in the 1979 semifinal. Going in at No.6 after Bombay lost the first four wickets for 72, Patil hit 145 in 276 minutes with 18 fours and a six, none of his partners made more than 25. It was a complete chaotic situation.\nHis family sent his kit to the airport and the aircraft waited for Sandeep to arrive, taking off only in the late afternoon.\nLuckily for India, rain delayed play till 50 minutes before tea. When the toss was done, Sandeep was still in the air.\nThe Indian captain, Kapil Dev won the toss and chose to bat.
