I like how diverse learning material there is: videos, text, test, labs, forum discussions. There are courses with labs where your work is graded by other students and you have to grade work of others. It is very educational to see how others solved same problem. If you don’t care about certificate all is free and quite a lot beginners courses.",

We can see that the people in the world are different to each other in religious aspect. They have different belief and faith. However, as I saw in the news recently, religious tensions have emerged throughout the world either it is in the form of discrimination, destruction, or violence. This makes me think about how people behave in their religious life.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Some people might think that religious difference is a problem especially if they are the majority of religion folks. Discrimination has a chance to appear. Seriously, violence and destruction can also be carried out because they don’t agree with what other people believe and do. If a person from different religion expressed a thing that is offensive to them, a conflict might happen.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I would say that a person living a religious life doesn’t mean he has a good morality, ethic, and attitude. If he always wears a religious cloth, that also doesn’t mean he is a person with good morality.</p>\n<p>All people, of course, want to have a peaceful life. But they are still carried by their ego. They struggle only for their benefits, not for others. They don’t care the suffering of others. Intolerance is growing inside of them. The virus that can cease the tolerance of someone is <strong>fanaticism</strong>.</p>\n<p>Fanaticism is an uncritical thinking that one would retain his thought without ever considering other thoughts. A fanatic religious folk tends to “<em>live for religion</em>” instead of “<em>religion for living</em>”. He would kill for religion. He would destroy for religion. He would do anything for sake of his religion. He could not differentiate again whether this thing is good or bad. This is a dangerous thinking and wrong view.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I just want to say that <strong>tolerance is the only way to live religious life peacefully</strong>. In the context of religion, <strong>tolerance is the act of allowing people to do what you don’t agree.</strong> But that doesn’t mean you accept that thing. Tolerance is only allowing. I can see that tolerance is the root of peace. When you live in a high diversity area, tolerance is the core to prevent any religious conflicts. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>We can live a religious life but don’t forget the essence of humanity. Humanity makes you more religious. In my opinion, <strong>the person that always cultivate good deeds, help people, reduce the suffering of others is more “</strong><em><strong>religious</strong></em><strong>”</strong>. Think that every human is the same under The Supreme One. Tolerance and humanity are the keys to make you a good being.</p>\n<p>I really like this Dalai Lama’s quote and it is expected to make people realize that every human is the same as others.</p>\n<blockquote><em>I’m Tibetan, I’m Buddhist and I’m the Dalai Lama, but if I emphasize these differences it sets me apart and raises barriers with other people. What we need to do is to pay more attention to the ways in which we are the same as other&nbsp;people.</em>&nbsp;</blockquote>\n<p>For me, fanaticism is bad. How about you? At least you try to get less offended if someone expressed bad thing about your religion even you are a sensitive person. <strong>Saying this is true and that is false are creating conflict</strong>.&nbsp;</p>\n<blockquote><em>A good person is a person who has right view, do good deeds, and ignore bad&nbsp;deeds.</em></blockquote>\n<p><strong>Just practice more and more tolerance</strong>. Make your religious life aligned with humanity. Religion should make people better, not worse. The religion is not wrong but ourselves.&nbsp;</p>\n</html>",

They can easily judge that Buddhists kneeling in front of Buddha statue were worshipping.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>However, there are also misunderstandings among Buddhists about Buddhism. They might consider the statue of Buddha as an object of requesting.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>So, there are 2 causes of why some people said Buddhists are idol worshippers. One is they haven’t learned Buddhism accurately. The other one is some Buddhists admitted that they do worshipping Buddha statue which is a misconception in Buddhism.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Recently, I have browsed through a nice Youtube video contains an Indonesian Buddhist monk preaching about why Buddhism is his choice (he is not a Buddhist before). One part of his discourse that attracted me is about Buddha statue worshipping.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>He said that the statue of Buddha is not an object/place of asking for something. If it is, when there is an earthquake rocking a temple, the statue will jump and run to save itself. Yeah, it is funny but it makes sense.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If someone can ask for money to the statue, then he won’t go to work again. His daily work is only kneeling and worshipping in front of the statue and the money will appear by itself in front of them. But that never happened and won’t happen.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If someone can ask for healing to the statue, then it is useless for others to become a doctor or medical officer. They will lose their job because everyone can be healed by only worshipping the statue. The other funny part of the video is, if that happened, the monk said that the statue has taken a medical major in university. Again, that never happened and won’t happened.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If the statue can give you healing, money, fortune, or everything you want, this world will be a heaven. No more work and no more sweat. And that doesn’t make sense and is impossible.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>So, what is the Buddha statue for? The Buddhist monk said that <strong>the Buddha statue is a sign or symbol of struggling</strong>. In life and to have a good life, everybody definitely has an ambition and life goals. In order to achieve them, he/she must work hard.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The same as Siddharta Gautama who was willing to leave the castle and give up luxury. He worked hard to seek for solution to cure suffering, aging, illness, and death. He struggled (<em>the scripture states that he has ever closed to death</em>) until he got enlightened and became a Buddha.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The hardworking of Buddha that resulting in a path called Noble Eightfold Path should motivate others to work hard and achieve their ambition.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>So, it is clear that Buddhists are <strong>NOT</strong> idol worshippers. If they are, they have misconception about Buddhism and they should be informed about the right teaching of Buddha. Clearly, Buddhists that are kneeling in front of Buddha statue are not worshipping. Same as Indonesia, The Founding Fathers of the country wanted to build a country on a “land” that will guide the folks through the nation’s life.</p>\n<p>That “land” is called <em>Pancasila</em>. It is the ideology, the guide, and the view of life of Indonesian people. It will guide the nation to achieve the goal, that is, to protect the whole nation and all areas of Indonesia and advance public welfare, educate nation’s life, and join to perform world’s orderliness that are based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice.</p>\n<p>Pancasila is a set of 5 principles that every folks in Indonesia, either government or citizen, must do in daily life. The process of finalization of Pancasila took a 3-month long. The first set of principles were offered by Soekarno, country’s first President on June 1st, 1945, which is now the day to commemorate the born day of <em>Pancasila</em>. Soekarno’s first set of principles are: Nationalism, Internationalism, Democracy, Social Welfare, and Cultured Godliness.</p>\n<p>The process then continues on June 22th, 1945 which Soekarno’s set was changed to be perfected. On August 18, 1945, the final set of <em>Pancasila</em> was rolled out with a little changed to the set approved on June 22th. So, the finalization took 3 moments to be completely agreed.</p>\n<p>The following are the final 5 principles of <em>Pancasila</em>.</p>\n<h2>The Supreme One Godliness</h2>\n<p>This principle indicates that every folk must believe in God, in Supreme One, according to each religion’s (Islam, Christianity, Catholic, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confuciusnism are religions admitted by the country) Godliness concept.</p>\n<p>Every person has freedom to worship the God and practice the moral value according to his/her religion. Tolerance must be highly carried in one’s life in order to create peace among folks with different beliefs.</p>\n<h2>Fair and Civilized Humanity</h2>\n<p>Humanity and internationalism are the keys to this principle. Every folk should respect human rights. My nation is responsible in making an effort to create harmony among other nations and put them in a good family.</p>\n<p>To cultivate good deeds and eliminate bad deeds is the most important task of a human. To determine that one has a sense of humanity is by watching his/her deeds.</p>\n<h2>The Unity of Indonesia</h2>\n<p>Diversity in Indonesia is not a disaster and it must be that forever. My nation slogan is “<strong>Unity in Diversity</strong>”. My country is filled with people from different backgrounds, from different ethnics, religions, races, and skin colours. That’s a blessing or tidy-packed gift from the Supreme One.</p>\n<p>What actually makes my country magnificent is diversity, like a rainbow. Plus, if tolerance among religious folks is highly carried, my country will be much more beautiful. Diversity will create a unity regardless the background of every person.</p>\n<h2>Democracy Led by Wisdom of Policy Under Representative</h2>\n<p>This principle emphasizes that no one has the right to take other’s right. This is the spirit of democracy. Everyone has the right to deliver their opinion. Everyone is treated the same as others.</p>\n<p>When the nation encounters a problem, every person has the right to use his/her wisdom to join into a discussion to achieve an agreement through representative institution.</p>\n<h2>Social Justice For All Indonesia’s Folks</h2>\n<p>Social justice is a problem for all nations, not only for Indonesia. In my nation, there are still poor people and the government is struggling to eliminate poverty and create welfare for all folks.</p>\n<p>Poverty is our enemy. To create a stable and fair economy for all the folks in a country should be the main task of every nation.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>So, these principles are what we, as Indonesian people, called as the base, the ideology, and the view of life of our country. Fully struggling for these principles will make Indonesia a good country with good people inside, no discrimination in case of politics and economy, and the spirit of democracry.&nbsp;</p>\n</html>",

Berdasarkan pengamatan saya, mungkin orang menganggap titip absen itu adalah hal yang biasa atau hal yang benar. Padahal, titip absen merupakan perilaku yang koruptif, salah satu bibit korupsi. Perlu kita ketahui bahwa korupsi bisa bermula dari hal yang paling kecil. Jika hal yg kecil tersebut terus dilakukan, tidak menutup kemungkinan ke depannya akan memunculkan dampak yang besar. Miris sekali jika ada orang yang sering meminta untuk di-absen-kan. Dari situlah, timbul di benak saya, kuliah pun titip absen, mau dibawa ke mana bangsa ini?</p>\n<p>Berbagai macam alasan digelontorkan untuk titip absen. Sebut saja, sakit, ada acara lain, susah bangun di pagi hari, dll. Tentu ada alasan yang masih bisa diterima dan tidak bisa diterima. Akan tetapi, dalam kondisi apapun, seorang mahasiswa yang berintegritas tidak boleh titip absen. Jika kita lagi sakit atau berhalangan untuk kuliah, kita bisa izin kepada dosen. Jika kita memang lagi malas atau susah bangun di pagi hari, kita harus rela tidak dinyatakan hadir.</p>\n<p>Sebagai mahasiswa, integritas adalah salah satu elemen penting yang harus ditanamkan ke diri kita. Integritas adalah mutu, sifat, atau keadaan yang menunjukkan kesatuan yang utuh sehingga memiliki potensi dan kemampuan yang memancarkan kewibawaan; kejujuran. Maka dari itu, kejujuran harus dijunjung tinggi. Jika kita terus-terusan titip absen dan tidak jujur, bagaimana nanti kita ke depannya? Bagaimana sewaktu kita menjadi penjabat, PNS, atau kerja di perusahaan orang?&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Memang kebiasaan kita titip absen belum berdampak saat ini. Akan tetapi, coba kita bayangkan 10 atau 20 tahun ke depan dimana kita sudah bekerja dan terjun ke masyarakat. Apa kita tidak merasa bersalah seandainya kita dipecat dari tempat kerja gara-gara melakukan praktik korupsi? Apa kita tidak merasa malu seandainya kita dikenakan rompi oranye dengan status sebagai pejabat negara gara-gara ketahuan korupsi? Mau dibawa ke mana bangsa ini?</p>\n<p>Jadi, mulailah untuk membuka pikiran dan jangan melakukan hal-hal yang tidak benar apalagi membenarkan hal-hal yang salah.
