| title | The Politics of Crypto |
| body | One thing that frustrates me about CryptoTwitter and Crypto, in general, is the politics. On the other hand, it's also one of the things that excites me, and other freedom-minded individuals. I feel like some people know a lot about Economics and sound financial policy, but don't know much about Crypto (Peter Schiff comes to mind), while others are very techy but don't know much about why Crypto is valuable and what the financial use cases are (small blockers come to mind). So many people have blind spots, and can be prone to being easily influenced by censored platforms that give you only one narrative. **Another thing that comes to mind is that politics and politics related to economics is a big reason why many of us first got into Bitcoin.** The first time I distinctly remember reading about it was approx. Fall 2012 on some minarchist/anarchist/libertarian blog or webpage. I had some vague recollection of maybe hearing it a few times before that, but only briefly or in passing. This was the first time I read an entire article on it, and I was fascinated. _It's not surprising that most of the early Crypto OG's shared this political philosophy. You could just call it Freedom for short._ **With how small the Crypto space still is, it can be a little frustrating with everyone fighting for clout/recognition/market-share/etc.** That being said, I think it's really important to call out people that are ill-informed or are intentionally misleading people. I can sometimes be hesitant to criticize others since there's already so much negativity in the space. But when someone needs to be called out, I also think that's important. One thing that happens in crypto is people tend to get into groupthink, and they also tend to heavily believe in a project if they have a moonbag of it, and can potentially make serious Satoshis if the project goes parabolic. I plan to expand on this topic in an upcoming episode of my podcast **Darkside of the HODL Moon**. Please feel free to check out my previous post that gives a synopsis on the first few episodes. |

| title | My New Crypto Podcast: Darkside of the HODL Moon |
| body | **Darkside of the HODL Moon** (photo credit: BlocKade's friend, saw a HODL Moon in Providence) BlocKade is back with an immutably new Crypto podcast and videocast. He's now joined by his co-host Josh, a Cryptonaut from the [UK]( https://www.google.com/maps/place/United+Kingdom/@54.2308315,-13.4380293,5z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x25a3b1142c791a9:0xc4f8a0433288257a!8m2!3d55.378051!4d-3.435973?hl=en&authuser=0 ) . We've recorded 6 episodes and the first 4 are already out. I'd love to get feedback from the Steemit Community. We have a Youtube channel, a [Twitter](https://twitter.com/darksideoftheh3), and an immutably expanding influence in the Crypto Space. HODL onto your moonbags, you're now orbiting around the #darksideofthehodlmoon In Episode One, we cover Libra and what it means for the Crypto Space. The go-to episode for all things Libra. [Darkside of the HODL Moon: Libra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI3dVCys554) In Episode Two, we cover everything a Crypto Newbie needs to know: [Darkside of the HODL Moon: Crypto Basics](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Srejuf9BAdQ) Episode Three is probably the best one we've put out so far. We make Crypto predictions that are blockchain certified. The most interesting and most entertaining of the currently released episodes. Start here if you're not a beginner. [Darkside of the HODL Moon: Cryptographic Predictions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cx71Z_h01M) Episode Four is our monthly current events show. On this episode we cover Crypto events in China, Japan, and Iran. We also touch on Crypto-enabled Smart Cities. [Darkside of the HODL Moon: CryptoCurrently](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHYPFU4lVMo) I'll be putting all the episodes here on Steemit as well. I look forward to your views, comments, ideas, feedback, and subscriptions to all #darksideofthehodlmoon and BlocKade social media: [BlocKade Insta](https://www.instagram.com/block.kade/) [BlocKade Twitter](https://twitter.com/KadeBlock) [Darkside of the HODL Moon website, in beta] (https://www.darksideofthehodlmoon.com/) |

| title | **BTC-Miami 2019 Day 2 Highlights** |
| body | After intaking lots of crypto-knowledge and alcohol during the first two days, it was time to sit down for the final day. Most of my highlights from day two deal with crypto-politics/freedom, but I’ll mention a few projects and trends down below as well. **Lyn Ulbricht** started the day with the “Free Ross” campaign and backstory. For crypto-newbies, Ross Ulbricht is a big reason why BTC first took off. He created Silk Road which accepted BTC for payment. Our psychopathic government gave him a double-life sentence, far more than actual drug-dealers on the site got. **#FREEROSS** (https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYJzF8t4qnwEgNPV6w2oJKUzRuqnwLXS8AAQi5zxsb4xW/20190118_100613.jpg) **Craig Sellars talked about BlockV, which is doing interesting things when it comes to rewards/advertising/non-fungible tokens(NFTs).** They have vAtoms, which are unique, and built on the BlockV protocol. I installed the app and was able to grab a “Coke” and a “picture of Dave” vAtoms upon returning to my domicile. The app is easy to install and great for Crypto-Beginners. You just need an e-mail or phone number. After that, you can “pick” up vAtoms on the included map (if nearby). You can also drop the vAtoms on the map or share them with friends in your contacts. Most of the vAtoms seem to be clustered in big cities (like NYC), but I found mine while traveling through Newport, RI. This could be huge if enough people/companies get involved. **Think of it like Pokemon Go, except the Pokemon are vAtoms which are NFTs and can be exchanged for prizes, gifts, and discounts.** (full disclosure: I’ve never actually played Pokemon Go) **Ben Swann gave an inspiring speech about creating an independent news platform called Isegoria.** It’s in its initial stages but I believe he’s supported by the DASH community so he’s already off to a good start. He said that the current media doesn’t have a “left/right bias” but a bias towards a “shaped narrative.” He went on to say that it’s “liberty/freedom vs. oppression.” If you haven’t looked into his work, check it out. I wish him well on his project. **Crypto isn’t just about HODLing for massive gains. We be spreadin’ some knowledge on the no-coiners too.** **Nick Spanos could have given the most entertaining and energizing speech of the conference.** He basically spent the whole time talking about freedom and those who want to take his freedom. Here are some quotes for your enjoyment. **“Why should anyone buy our shitcoin?” “Finally, I have a weapon against my owners.” “They can’t do shit to us.” “We gotta piss on those people.”** That’s why this guy is a legend. **Jeremy Gardner** didn’t give the type of speech I was expecting, but it was one of the highlights of Day 2. Instead of taking about technical stuff or his companies, he talked about creating a culture and narrative around Crypto that would make it cool, interesting, and mainstream. For those who don’t know, **Jeremy lived in the original “Crypto Castle” with Vitalik and other big players in the space in San Fran.** He has a new “Crypto Castle-Miami” and talked about how important culture is when it comes to making Blockchain go mainstream. He talked about how the house creates a narrative vs. the narrative created by the jealous haters. This is a critical, but often overlooked thing about Crypto. **Without the social cachet, interest, and excitement, crypto won’t see the sort of adoption we all want it to see.** **“We’re too far ahead of the world we live in today.” -J.G.** The last speaker was **Jeff Berwick, a.k.a., the Dollar Vigilante.** Rivaling Nick Spano’s speech, it was full of interesting tid-bits, quotes, and a little review on the history of crypto-prices for the newbies. I loved how he talked about the “mindless zombies” out in the world. He seems to think Crypto is due for a big bull run somewhere in the future. **He said if 1% of institutional money comes in, it’ll go parabolic (BTC).** He also mentioned that as fiat currencies collapse, it’ll go parabolic(nice visual for the HODLers). We already see fiat imploding in some places like Venezuela, and now they’re using BCH and DASH. **He sees the dollar collapsing, so at the very least, having crypto is a good idea as a hedge/insurance policy against this happening.** He was a great speaker to close the conference with and I hope to make it to Anarchapulco someday (maybe 2020). During the closing remarks, an odd thing happened. **Jeremy Gardner was banned from ever giving a speech again.** During his keynote, he showed a short video of the Crypto-Castle and his friends on a yacht drinking, dancing, and partying. I’m not sure how this got him banned but it did. Was it that fact that the girls were in swimsuits? I have no clue but whoever complained really needs to go back to the convent or psych. ward that they came from. If more than a handful of the 1,500 attendees complained, I’d be shocked. **#Don’tMakeTheUglyGirlsAngry**(video can be seen down below…) **Overall, I thought the conference went great.** Good parties, delicious catering, great swag, and great speakers. **One big trend I noticed is that many people there thought Security Tokens would be huge in 2019 and beyond.** It also seemed like voting on the Blockchain (Voatz/Votem/etc) is actually going to happen sooner rather than later. There have already been some trial runs and some tests with non-binding referendums so that looks promising and a great way to cut down on voter fraud, especially in Banana Republics. See you at BTC-Miami 2020. **And remember to HODL for: Jesse James’ custom rides, and Jesse James’ custom 1911’s with custom engraved slides.** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX8HhCq84NY https://youtu.be/vDJCf0boUQU |

"title": "**BTC-Miami 2019 Day 2 Highlights**",
"body": "\n\n\n\nAfter intaking lots of crypto-knowledge and alcohol during the first two days, it was time to sit down for the final day. Most of my highlights from day two deal with crypto-politics/freedom, but I’ll mention a few projects and trends down below as well.\n\n**Lyn Ulbricht** started the day with the “Free Ross” campaign and backstory. For crypto-newbies, Ross Ulbricht is a big reason why BTC first took off. He created Silk Road which accepted BTC for payment. Our psychopathic government gave him a double-life sentence, far more than actual drug-dealers on the site got. **#FREEROSS**\n\n(https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYJzF8t4qnwEgNPV6w2oJKUzRuqnwLXS8AAQi5zxsb4xW/20190118_100613.jpg)\n\n**Craig Sellars talked about BlockV, which is doing interesting things when it comes to rewards/advertising/non-fungible tokens(NFTs).** They have vAtoms, which are unique, and built on the BlockV protocol. \nMost of the vAtoms seem to be clustered in big cities (like NYC), but I found mine while traveling through Newport, RI. This could be huge if enough people/companies get involved. **Think of it like Pokemon Go, except the Pokemon are vAtoms which are NFTs and can be exchanged for prizes, gifts, and discounts.** (full disclosure: I’ve never actually played Pokemon Go)\n\n\n\n\n**Ben Swann gave an inspiring speech about creating an independent news platform called Isegoria.** It’s in its initial stages but I believe he’s supported by the DASH community so he’s already off to a good start. We be spreadin’ some knowledge on the no-coiners too.**\n\n\n\n**Nick Spanos could have given the most entertaining and energizing speech of the conference.** He basically spent the whole time talking about freedom and those who want to take his freedom. Here are some quotes for your enjoyment.\n\n**“Why should anyone buy our shitcoin?”\n“Finally, I have a weapon against my owners.”\n“They can’t do shit to us.”\n“We gotta piss on those people.”**\n\nThat’s why this guy is a legend.\n\n\n\n**Jeremy Gardner** didn’t give the type of speech I was expecting, but it was one of the highlights of Day 2. Instead of taking about technical stuff or his companies, he talked about creating a culture and narrative around Crypto that would make it cool, interesting, and mainstream. For those who don’t know, **Jeremy lived in the original “Crypto Castle” with Vitalik and other big players in the space in San Fran.** \nHe has a new “Crypto Castle-Miami” and talked about how important culture is when it comes to making Blockchain go mainstream. He talked about how the house creates a narrative vs. the narrative created by the jealous haters. This is a critical, but often overlooked thing about Crypto. **Without the social cachet, interest, and excitement, crypto won’t see the sort of adoption we all want it to see.** \n\n**“We’re too far ahead of the world we live in today.” -J.G.**\n\n\n\nThe last speaker was **Jeff Berwick, a.k.a., the Dollar Vigilante.** Rivaling Nick Spano’s speech, it was full of interesting tid-bits, quotes, and a little review on the history of crypto-prices for the newbies. I loved how he talked about the “mindless zombies” out in the world. He seems to think Crypto is due for a big bull run somewhere in the future.\n**He said if 1% of institutional money comes in, it’ll go parabolic (BTC).** He also mentioned that as fiat currencies collapse, it’ll go parabolic(nice visual for the HODLers). \n\n\nDuring the closing remarks, an odd thing happened. **#Don’tMakeTheUglyGirlsAngry**(video can be seen down below…)\n\n**Overall, I thought the conference went great.** Good parties, delicious catering, great swag, and great speakers. See you at BTC-Miami 2020.\n\n\n\n**And remember to HODL for:\n Jesse James’ custom rides, and Jesse James’ custom 1911’s with custom engraved slides.**\n\n\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX8HhCq84NY\n\n\nhttps://youtu.be/vDJCf0boUQU",

| title | BTC-Miami 2019 Day 1 Highlights (Elixxir/SALT/ANCHOR) |
| body | This Winter has been quite chilly, so I decided to warm myself up by attending BTC-Miami. This Crypto-Winter has been cold as hell too, so I needed a little pick me up to rationalize my obsession with HODLing. Brief Thoughts/Takeaways: -Charlie Shrem said some interesting things and was one of the few people there hot on EOS. I’m HODLing EOS myself so that was great to hear. **-“A bear market is when the best things are built.” -Brock Pierce** I tend to agree with this and the attendance this year was about a third of what it was at BTC-Miami 2018. Investing-wise, it hasn’t been a great year to HODL. However, it was nice to be at a conference where everyone was hyped on Blockchain/Crypto and there for the right reasons. **“You can’t have a free society w/ a central point of failure.” -Jeffrey Tucker** I agree with this (in this case, he was talking about the financial system). It was nice to see one of my personal heroes give a speech on the history of money/gold-backed currency/freedom/etc. It was just the boost I needed in the current zeitgeist of pathologically altruistic socialism and confiscation. He’s a great writer, thinker, and dancer. Do not challenge him to a dance-off. You will lose. **You can quote me on that and make it immutable by putting it on the Blockchain.** .jpg) Top 3 Projects/Speeches of Day 1 BTC-Miami2019: **Elixxir:** This is a project that burst onto the scene in late 2018. **They are led by David Chaum, an OG in the Crypto space, and widely considered the inventor of digital cash.** Their payment and messaging Alpha-Net is up and running, and their Beta-Net is scheduled to launch Q2 of 2019. Elixxir will be fast. They are saying it will have 10 second messaging and payments, from initiation to completion. It uses hash-based ownership which is faster than the digital signature method used in most blockchains. In addition, all per-transaction public key operations are pre-computed; only the hash functions are used in real time. This should take less than 1/20th the time of existing blockchains. They also will be doing concurrent cascading precomputations to increase speed. While only one block will be produced at a time, precomputations for the following 3-4 blocks have already started. This increases speed and allows them to scale as well. Elixxir will be secure. Nodes are selected to work together using a decentralized randomized algorithm. Multiple nodes work as team, per block, in order to provide privacy. These teams are changed every block. There are several systems in place to punish dishonest nodes (including the loss of a node’s stake) and their robust security is immune to several of the most well-known attacks. Their consensus properties can handle a dishonest node, or even a majority of dishonest nodes. This, combined with the random team node mixing, makes this one of the safest blockchains I’ve researched. **Elixxir will give you transactional and communication privacy.** They do this using an advanced mix network protocol called cMix. This also lowers real time cryptographic latency. I’m hot on any privacy focused project these days, and this is one of the best ones coming down the pipeline. .jpg) **SALT:** I’ve been hot on SALT for a while, but Caleb Slade’s speech really re-ignited my interest in the project. You can now collateralize 5 different cryptos and they’re now operational in 45 states and 9 countries. They’ve given out over $50 million in loans and they are one of the more stable companies out there. They have locations in Denver, The Philippines, and Mauritius. They have Cyber/Criminal Insurance and **they don’t practice fractional-reserve banking. As a crypto-warrior, that last one is huge.** Salt’s Blockchain-based loans provide flexibility and service that many traditional brick-and-mortar banks don’t. There is no income verification, no credit check, and no origination fees. In addition, it’s very customizable. This is huge, especially for some of the emerging markets they operate in like Brazil. They also provide tech solutions for businesses including Wallet Management, Lending Technology, and the Monitoring of digital assets. I also believe they debuted Meerkat at BTC-Miami2019. With **Meerkat, you simply type in your public address and your email and you can have your public address (BTC/LTC/ETH/DOGE) monitored for activity.** I think this is a nice little service (provided for free) and a good way to give back to the Crypto Community. I expect more good things to come out of SALT in 2019 and beyond. The SALT BAE be sprinklin’ Crypto loans on you in the current year. **ANCHOR:** This is a new stable-coin. **I usually don’t write/talk/research stable-coins, but this project at the conference really caught my Blockchain.** As you may know, there are now several fiat-collateralized/gold-collateralized/crypto-collateralized/non-collateralized crypto coins. Anchor is none of these. Anchor is pegged to the MMU (monetary measurement unit), an averaging of the GDP of the 190 largest countries’ economies. They plan to purchase sovereign debt to collateralize the project. This is one of the safest investments and usually guarantees returns of 3-4%. They seem to be serious about being a trustworthy project. They’ll have 20 large players as a board of validators. Their whitepaper was one of the best I’ve ever read-it’s clarity/detail/transparency is of a quality not seen that often. It looks like something BlocKade would have written or done a white-paper review consultation on. The mathematical formulae really provide a level of transparency rarely seen in the space. The most unique thing about the project though is this MMU. They want it to be stable as a unit of purchasing power. This goes above and beyond being stable when compared to the $$$ or some other fiat currency. So, in actuality, **the Anchor Coin could turn out to be deflationary. Quite the stable place to store your assets if you’re a HODL Warrior like myself.** The Anchor Coin is matched to the MMU using a hybrid token economy. The Anchor Coin is the intended currency and payment unit, and the Dock Token is used as a corrective. When Anchor Coin < MMU, the system contracts using the Dock Token. When Anchor Coin > MMU, the system expands using the Dock Token to issue new Anchor Coins. I thought this was a really great way to solve the stability issue while at the same time having a stable asset/coin that battles inflation. Once they reach their first two funding rounds, the remaining rounds will be used exclusively to buy sovereign debt to back the ambitious project. I wish they would have been a little clearer on what the stability fee was, but if they have low overhead the interest accrued on the debt should cover a large portion of this and other operational costs. Look for big things from Anchor in 2019. **HODL for AMG Project Ones and Aston Martin Valkyries.** (This article was not investment advice. "title": "BTC-Miami 2019 Day 1 Highlights (Elixxir/SALT/ANCHOR)",
"body": "\n\nThis Winter has been quite chilly, so I decided to warm myself up by attending BTC-Miami. This Crypto-Winter has been cold as hell too, so I needed a little pick me up to rationalize my obsession with HODLing. \n\nBrief Thoughts/Takeaways:\n\n-Charlie Shrem said some interesting things and was one of the few people there hot on EOS. I’m HODLing EOS myself so that was great to hear. \n\n**-“A bear market is when the best things are built.” -Brock Pierce** \n \nI tend to agree with this and the attendance this year was about a third of what it was at BTC-Miami 2018. Investing-wise, it hasn’t been a great year to HODL. However, it was nice to be at a conference where everyone was hyped on Blockchain/Crypto and there for the right reasons.\n\n**“You can’t have a free society w/ a central point of failure.” -Jeffrey Tucker**\n\nI agree with this (in this case, he was talking about the financial system). **You can quote me on that and make it immutable by putting it on the Blockchain.**\n\n.jpg)\n\nTop 3 Projects/Speeches of Day 1 BTC-Miami2019:\n\n**Elixxir:**\n\nThis is a project that burst onto the scene in late 2018. **They are led by David Chaum, an OG in the Crypto space, and widely considered the inventor of digital cash.** Their payment and messaging Alpha-Net is up and running, and their Beta-Net is scheduled to launch Q2 of 2019. \n\nElixxir will be fast. \n\nElixxir will be secure. \n\n**Elixxir will give you transactional and communication privacy.** They do this using an advanced mix network protocol called cMix. This also lowers real time cryptographic latency. I’m hot on any privacy focused project these days, and this is one of the best ones coming down the pipeline.\n\n.jpg)\n\n**SALT:**\n\nI’ve been hot on SALT for a while, but Caleb Slade’s speech really re-ignited my interest in the project. As a crypto-warrior, that last one is huge.**\n\nSalt’s Blockchain-based loans provide flexibility and service that many traditional brick-and-mortar banks don’t. There is no income verification, no credit check, and no origination fees. In addition, it’s very customizable. This is huge, especially for some of the emerging markets they operate in like Brazil.\n\nThey also provide tech solutions for businesses including Wallet Management, Lending Technology, and the Monitoring of digital assets.\n\nI also believe they debuted Meerkat at BTC-Miami2019. \n\n\n\n**ANCHOR:**\n\nThis is a new stable-coin. **I usually don’t write/talk/research stable-coins, but this project at the conference really caught my Blockchain.** As you may know, there are now several fiat-collateralized/gold-collateralized/crypto-collateralized/non-collateralized crypto coins. Anchor is none of these. \n\nAnchor is pegged to the MMU (monetary measurement unit), an averaging of the GDP of the 190 largest countries’ economies. The mathematical formulae really provide a level of transparency rarely seen in the space.\n\nThe most unique thing about the project though is this MMU. They want it to be stable as a unit of purchasing power. This goes above and beyond being stable when compared to the $$$ or some other fiat currency. So, in actuality, **the Anchor Coin could turn out to be deflationary. Quite the stable place to store your assets if you’re a HODL Warrior like myself.** \n\nThe Anchor Coin is matched to the MMU using a hybrid token economy. \nOnce they reach their first two funding rounds, the remaining rounds will be used exclusively to buy sovereign debt to back the ambitious project. I wish they would have been a little clearer on what the stability fee was, but if they have low overhead the interest accrued on the debt should cover a large portion of this and other operational costs. Look for big things from Anchor in 2019.\n\n**HODL for AMG Project Ones and Aston Martin Valkyries.**\n\n(This article was not investment advice. DYOR and HODL for Mars)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n.jpg)\n\n\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ6OdwQ1X18\n\n\nInstagram: block.kade\nTwitter: @KadeBlock\nYoutube: BlocKade Hodlson",

| title | BlocKade: The Art of the HODL |
| body | Today we are going to be talking about how to HODL. As my fans who've been with me since the beginning know, I'm all about Hodling. **"Hodling," or "holding," means not selling.** It comes in many forms and varieties, including but not limited to: the RedCandleHodl, the SuperHodl, the MaybeCarVerticalWillBounceBackHODL, and the MorgueHodl. With the RedCandleHodl, you never sell for fiat or hop into USDT: no matter how many big red consecutive candles you see. Days, Weeks, Months, you don't care! YOU ARE A HODLER. **With the MorgueHodl, you make a promise to the CryptoGods that your coins/tokens will not be moved until you stop moving** (and breathing). Some of you will leave the keys to these coins in a Blockchain certified will. Others choose to hodl their coins into the afterlife (eternity is a long time, good thing the blockchain will keep them there forever) , much like the ancient ones would put (their valued things) ornate jewelry, tools, and mummified pets in their tombs. The choice is yours. **As a HODLER, you never follow your exit points or game plan.** You hit your 5x profit target? Who cares! Hodl for 500x gains or a complete loss. As a Hodler, you care less about money than the Art of the Hodl. You never panic-sell, or profit take (except to go all-in on the newest fad crypto). Sometimes you hodl so hard you forget about funds you had on your 7th exchange (Did you really forget? Or did you lie to yourself so you could hodl without having the temptation to sell?). If you're an expert hodler, this is probably all old news to you. If you're new to the space, I hope you found this information helpful. **In a Bear/Flat Market, we can't really be hodling for Ferrars and Lambos.** Let's hodl for something more realistic in the meantime. I tend to eat healthy and not overindulge, but I do like a good Scotch/Tequila/Whiskey from time to time. So, let's hodl for the chance to imbibe some delicious spirits. **Hodl for top-shelf bottles and top-shelf models.** https://youtu.be/Iqo18DbgBFo |

| body | Lesson 5 is one lesson most people have to learn the hard way, including myself. Doing okay now (made a lot and lost a lot). Sometimes though, you do have to cash out profits. I'm sure many people wish they would of cashed out when it was green candle mania. I've made some 100X gains, but I've also had some 100-1000X losses (CarVertical, anyone?). Long term, though, I think your right. Be optimistic, see the mid-to-long term picture, gain blockchain knowledge, and be patient. |

| title | Digital Peer-to-Peer Currency: BTC, BCH, and the future of Cryptopayment/Hodling |
| body | What up Hodlers. It’s BlocKade, aka Kade Crypto. Today I’m going to talk/write about the original Crypto, the original Blockchain, BTC. If you want to know the history of BTC or the fundamentals of it, check out the [BTC whitepaper](https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf). I’m going to talk about the original purpose of Bitcoin, which was to be a peer-to-peer digital currency. I’m also going to delve into economics and finance and why BTC (or some other Crypto will be a game-changer). [*FYI: This was more of a video rant that I turned into a post, you may want to watch the video in lieu of the written post (written for the hearing impaired). Cheers Hodlers.] **BTC was designed to:** **1) Exchange value** **2) Allow individuals to be in control of their own money** **3) Make banking obsolete** **4) Trade w/ anyone in a permission-less way** **5) Be a stable currency with a fixed supply (not inflationary)** **6) ____ _______ __ _________ _____ _____.** (List your fav reason Hodler Homie) These days, BTC hasn’t lived up to the whitepaper or what it was designed to do. With long-ass transaction times and monster fees, BTC has found a way to fuck up something that seemed like a sure bet (I’ve paid $30-50 for some transactions). Now, we’ve had the BCH fork, which has been around for about a year, and functions better as a form of payment (as well as the BTC Gold/Classic/Private forks). A peer-to-peer digital currency can be any crypto you want to use as a form of payment: BCH, Dash, Monero, RaiBlocksClassic. I’ll be using BCH for explanatory purposes, but you can substitute whatever one you like in place of BCH. I’m also using it because I hold a decent amount and I’m gonna shill it for you guys. One criticism I hear is that BCH fluctuates. That’s true, but compared to what? The dollar? Sure, but how about compared to the Bolivar? It’s predicted to have [an inflation rate of 1,000,000 percent this year](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-economy/imf-projects-venezuela-inflation-will-hit-1000000-percent-in-2018-idUSKBN1KD2L9). People want to conserve the value of their money. They’re putting it into BTC/BCH/Crypto/Gold. Whether they’re rockin’ $s, Euros, Yen, or Won, people want to conserve the value of their money. I predict in the long-term that BCH, or some other Crypto, will level out and stabilize. It could even be slightly deflationary as it gains prominence as a major medium of exchange and more people value it as a form of payment to be received and spent. Even in the US, inflation can be 2-4% a year. Some even say those numbers aren’t accurate. Even if you buy the official numbers, that amount of inflation sucks and will just eat away at your savings over the long term (10+ years especially). We’re seeing high inflation numbers in Africa too. And in Iran, people evaded capital controls and $2.5 Billion left the country through unstoppable capital flight [by way of Cryptos baby](https://cointelegraph.com/news/report-over-2-million-lost-to-crypto-scams-in-second-quarter-of-2018). Even if you do everything right, sometimes the system is stacked up against you. Now people in Iran and Maduro’s Magical Kingdom have a means to preserve their wealth through Crypto rebellion. BCH is pretty fuckin’ stable compared to the Bolivar. In Venezuela, forget about Hodling for Cherry Red Lambos! You’re not Hodling, your hustlin’ to get a moldy rat meat Reuben with a cockroach side salad drenched in a red wine vinaigrette. In the US, we have scalpers for baseball tickets. In Venezuela, they have scalpers for flour (an ex-pat friend from Venezuela confirmed this). **Crypto is an escape pod on that fiat spaceship.** Another thing I want to point out is that, despite these currencies fluctuating, people are still using them as a form of payment. This could be for financial, or even philosophical reasons. We see heavy BCH use in Japan and some other areas. In the Live-Free-Or-Die state, [Dash and BCH are seeing a lot of growth/use](https://freekeene.com/category/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-cash/). Places on the internet that accept crypto are exploding too. Several people have bought houses with BTC and I wouldn’t be surprised if real estate starts getting purchased with BCH as well. If you’re on Twitter/Youtube/MSM calling crypto a scam, someone’s gonna screencap/record those idiotic mutterings. And in 5, 10, 15 years(more like 3 years probably), you’re gonna look like a complete tool. We’re talking Paul Krugman comparing the internet’s impact to the fax machine levels of idiocy (NYT’s favorite wanna-be economist also thinks BTC is evil. I’d listen to this forecasting genius, for rizzle). BTW, I’m not saying you should go all in on Crypto like BTC-Dad (’m not a financial advisor and this isn’t financial advice. I’m a self-styled financial mfin’ genius, though). Even if you’re not super bullish on Cryptos, you should still have some. Some even predict an impending mega bubble in the US (ZeroHedge, R. Paul, DollarVigilante), one that could be a lot bigger than the 2008 mini-bubble. It’s an investment, but it’s also a hedge/insurance; in case your country’s currency goes 4Loko like Maduro’s Socialist Super-Utopia Paradise. If people are willing to buy/sell with it, and it increases its network effects, **BCH could be the reserve crypto.** It’s not the first mover, but it has early-mover advantages and works better than most of its competitors. Maybe it’ll be a privacy token or even BTC, if it ever stops double-spending itself in the foot. I’m hedging as well; I have both BTC and BCH (and a slew of others too). I’m all about Hodling (especially in this Bear Dip), but if you want to cash out some of your profits: buy precious metals, buy real estate (be cautious, also looks bubbly in the US), buy guns (if legal in your area, MAGAland citizens can legally buy firearms). And buy a boat so you can escape from the horde of socialist zombies and cruise to your Crypto Island with a wallet full of Varyon. And remember to **Hodl for Red Aprilias and Ducatis and Dark Gray Astons and Maseratis.** (Currently rockin' a CBF 300 but I be Hodlin' for that Ducati Panigale!) Feeback, questions, comments, and video ideas are appreciated. Hodl and let the NoCoiners Hate.
