      "body": "There is a bill that failed to pass in NM Sate congress. It would have been an expansion to an existing state law that sends a murderer of a child ages 0 - 11 years to prison for life. The expansion would have sent murders of youth ages 0 - 18 years to prison for life. The state of New Mexico did away with the death penalty in 2009. The highest punishment in the state is life without parole. \n\nWhy is it that it isn’t an automatic life sentence when a murder kills? Shouldn’t be life for a life? What makes some lives more special than others? I think it shouldn’t matter what age a person was when they were murdered. If you take a life you should go away for life. I have to go to the storage room to get the items I need which in itself isn’t too difficult. Cases of product can weigh between 25-75 pounds wich I can lift easily. I usually have to make 3-4 trips to the storage room, this is because the shift before mine rarely brings merchandise into the store to maintain stock levels. One thing that kind of makes the job harder is that I have to use a shopping cart to bring merchandise into the store. (We don’t have an L cart which would make the task more efficient). One thing that I have learned from working is that graveyard shift will always be blamed for work that does not get done, even if the incomplete tasks where supposed to be done by the first two shifts. Another thing that I have learned is that people don’t hold themselves accountable and will just complain about tasks being unfinished, even though they are more than perfectly capable of doing said tasks. All in all, working at a gas station is just a stepping stone for me. It is not what I want to do as a career.       "body": "I have been working at a gas station/convenience store for a year and a half. I work there as a store clerk. My duties are to run the cash register, clean, and stock the store. I work on the graveyard shift 10pm to 6am. I meet a lot of weird and interesting people working nights. There’s the crazy guy that comes in and buys his liquor, cigarettes, and lotto scratchers. He sometimes buys lotto tickets for whomever is working on shift when he stops by. There’s the regular customers that stop buy and always buy the same things, it sometimes surprises them when you already have the items they buy prepared for them to purchase. Most of my customers that stop at my store are just getting off work and want something to help them relax, they will purchase things like alcohol and tobacco. It is a good place to work for, I am close to moving up into lower level management. I have fun working there because my coworkers are fun people to work with.",
