Tiene una extensión de 400 hectáreas y cuenta con varias facilidades turísticas como áreas de camping y picnic, con espacios específicos para realizar fogatas.\n\nEste espacio fue declarado como área protegida en el 1979 y que desde entonces, cientos de turistas nacionales y extranjeros llegan al lugar.\n\n![IMG_20210731_161444_583.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQma2QaD6fjcH8hNnFJKTY5PHcKXMCgGmAdqFMZpMrfS46i/IMG_20210731_161444_583.jpg\nHace varios años, El Boliche fue parte de una gran Hacienda llamada Romerillos, en la que se sembraron los primeros árboles introducidos, con el fin de recuperar los suelos erosionados. Pero fue en 1928, que Luciano Andrade Marín plantó los primeros pinos, como parte de un experimento de adaptación convirtiendo al Ecuador de esa época en uno de los pioneros en reforestación.\n\nEntre los sitios de mayor interés natural está el sendero Quishuar, que tiene una distancia de 320 metros y en el que se puede identificar claramente la diferencia de vegetación,  pues hay un contraste entre los bosques de pino sembrados hace 86 años y el bosque nativo del páramo andino; recorrerlo toma cerca de 40 minutos.\n\nPero si se quiere descubrir más sobre la flora y fauna nativa lo ideal es visitar el sendero Romerillo que es más extenso, pues tiene 1,3 kilómetros y recorrerlo dura alrededor de una hora y media.\n vengan realicen la caminata más larga (sendero Romerillo), puesto que se puede apreciar más a la naturaleza y sus paisajes».\n\n![IMG_20210731_161449_105.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTR43MaZ9rf4KqRBm7WEh8ukct63S6rBUM3EfuiMHPbST/IMG_20210731_161449_105.jpg)\n\nAsimismo, la diversidad de animales y la vegetación nativa son dos de los principales atractivos turísticos. venado de cola blanca, cervicabra, conejo silvestre,  lobo de páramo, zorrillos, lobos, pumas, perdices y curiquingues; existen también 67 llamas y seis alpacas. En cuanto a la flora existe una variedad de especies como yagual, polilepis, árboles pumaqui, quishuar y sacha capulí; y en el páramo en cambio se puede observar el mortiño, la paja y varios tipos de musgos, helechos, líquenes y hongos.\n\nClima\n\nEl clima es frío alto andino pero varía de acuerdo a la época del año, puede oscilar entre los 0 y 16 grados centígrados, por ello es importante llevar ropa abrigada.",

Los platos típicos incluyen ceviche, camarones en salsa de coco, y camotillo, el pez típico de Manabí. Puerto Cayo cuenta con extensas playas de arena blanca y aguas azules, donde puede practicar un sinnúmero de deportes acuáticos como el #surf y pueden observar a las ballenas.Su clima y la temperatura promedio más alta está entre 24-29 grados.
