It is everywhere, from your phone, TV, radio, newspaper, and even word of mouth. News is everywhere. But what exactly is the news, and what’s the purpose of it? News is information about the current events happening in the world. Often, the news will take in some bias, be it political or ideological. Before the public sees the news, it has gone through various actors that have manipulated the news to make you comply with an agenda to buy goods or services, vote for a particular party or politician, or simply distort your perspective. With the development of social media, news has been much more accessible and abundant than ever before. In the past, news was distributed via newspapers, postal, broadcasting, blogs, or radio; however, news is everywhere with the advent of social media. Nowadays, corporations have the power to sway the public’s opinions and thoughts in whatever way they wish. This authority given to corporations does not often hold their interest in mind and affects us more than ever before.\n\n<b>So what makes us believe in the news?</b>\n\nAs mentioned earlier, before the public sees the news, it is often manipulated with and changed to the desires of the news outlet. So why do they believe in news if it has been changed so many times before they see it? This taps into human psychology and their unconscious desires. From an article by the <a href=\"https://www.worldgovernmentsummit.org/\">World Government Summit</a>, the author mentioned that their “unconscious motives drive the belief formation process”; hence the news they see is only appealing to us because it responds to their beliefs and desires (<a href=\"https://www.worldgovernmentsummit.org/\">World Government Summit</a>). Their preconceived perception towards the world has been forming ever since they were born. The external and internal influences around us all make us believe things in a certain way. The forming of this perception is strongly tied to the news and information they receive daily. News sources are the main antagonists for this as they are run by corrupt publishers who only have personalized interests in mind. News publishers not only affect us but also those around us. The media has substantial influence over what the general public thinks and can easily sway their beliefs in one way or the other with a simple article. Hence, it is best to think twice before believing what you see, as many of these so-called news outlets may not have your interest in mind.\n\n<b>What is trust?</b>\n\nTrust is fundamental to humans. It is a central part of theirrelationships, including their romantic relationships, family life, business, politics, and more. But how big of a role does it play? Trust is crucial to their everyday life. It is what allows us to have faith and belief in other people and corporations. There are many definitions of what trust is, but it often comes down to the idea of having confidence in something that causes you to think or behave in a certain way.\n\n<b>Trust in Media Today</b>\n\nWhen it comes to news and the information their receive daily, they often only trust sources that they have seen before or believe have a good reputation. However, trust in news has been on a constant downfall after the coronavirus hit the global economy. A recent study on trust found that only six countries have more than 50% trust levels. Most countries are well below 50%, and people believe that the news they receive is not trustworthy. The general sentiment towards the media today is that it is not reliable. Media plays a significant factor in their society today, and having the fundamental right to trust it has been more critical than ever. From instances in the past where big social media corporations can change/influence what they see online, it is crucial that the power of what they see and hear lies with the people.\n\n<b>So why should I trust this article that I am reading now?</b>\n\nYou don’t have to believe in us or what you are reading here. They are not trying to make you think one way or the other. The session’s specifics are listed below.\n\n\n<h2>Attendees</h2>\n\n\nThe AMA session was packed with the key members of the BlockX/Tokenizer team, among those who were present are Manindra, the CEO of BlockX/Tokenizer, <a href=\"https://www.blockxnet.com/about\">Benjamin Pacheco</a>\n — head of the blockchain at BlockX, and <a href=\"https://www.blockxnet.com/about\">Seth Keller</a>\n — the Director of Investment at BlockX/Tokenizer. The session was the second in the series of BlockX AMAs. The session was anchored by Davide.\n\nNotably, the session covered different points of discussion about the <a href=\"https://www.blockxnet.com/\">BlockX network</a>\n and the <a href=\"https://www.tokenizer.cc/\">Tokenizer platform</a>\n and how both work hand-in-hand to create a robust ecosystem for individual and corporate users.\n\n\n<h2>Full AMA Recap</h2>\n\n\nOn the description of the full functionalities of the BlockX, Benjamin Pacheco gave a detailed walkthrough. He explained the full range of features covering Digital identity, digital wallet, smart chain compliance, the elaborate marketplace, and asset tokenization.\n\nAccording to Pacheco “The BlockX network can hold the digital identities of investors. This is useful for KYC and it holds the identities of not just individuals but also corporate entities.As a result, they can store the status of blacklisting or whitelisting in the Blockchain. For example, if you are a service provider and want to know the status of a company before investing, you can look it up.\n\nHe further detailed that “you need to have a digital wallet to store your assets. Their on-chain digital wallet is already integrated into the BlockX chain. It helps us offer more options and services to their users”.\n\nPacheco’s explanation also demonstrated that BlockX’s Smart chain compliance is related to digital identity because it aids in the incorporation of business rules into the smart contracts of any chain listed on BlockX. Furthermore, BlockX has its own marketplace, and it intends to provide a place for platform users to access personalized services, similar to the NFT or trading marketplace. Because BlockX has its own established blockchain and ecosystem, it is only natural that it establishes and powers its own trading system.\n\nFor asset tokenization, BlockX powers the Tokenizer platform, which helps with the tokenization of assets of value so that they can be easily traded. You can easily transfer ownership as opposed to having to sign documents and pieces of paper, which is cumbersome when it involves transfers to hundreds of people. BlockX is powering an easy and liquid securities system.\n\n<b>When asked on who the Primary Customer targets are, Pacheco responded;</b>\n\n“Their targets are not just investors and regular users. They want to partner with organizations, financial institutions that will provide digital banking to their users as well. They are connecting decentralized finance with centralized finance. That is why it is important to us to have KYC and compliance services because they will offer centralized finance services in the BlockX network as well”.\n\n<b>During the course of the AMA session, questions were raised about the essence of the Tokenizer platform and what its mission is?</b>\n\nIn response, Seth Keller, the head of investment at Tokenizer gave a robust explanation. He explained that Tokenizer is the infrastructure of the emerging tokenized asset ecosystem. There is a new wave of tokenization, and it is basically bridging private market securities and making them more available to everyday investors and making them more liquid. <a href=\"https://www.tokenizer.cc/\">Tokenizer</a>  is tackling the core issue in the private market now which is the lack of liquidity.\n\nIf you have security tokens of private assets, they will be tradable on the Tokenizer exchange. Essentially, Tokenizer will take the issuance of a fund. This ranges from real estate, venture capital, to hedge funds. Tokenizer raises capital from investors and other individuals and those investors receive security tokens that will represent their ownership interest in that fund with the tokens directly backed by real assets. Once obtained, security tokens are tradable on secondary exchanges.\n\nOn Tokenizer Offerings, there is currently a long list of offerings on the Tokenizer platform. They include a few hedge funds, venture capital, buffer note, and real estate offerings. Asset tokenization will become a more accepted term in the near future — over the next five years. Tokenization will become a much more accepted term just like blockchain and cryptocurrency.\n\n\nMoving to BlockX and how it ties to Tokenizer, panellists generally agreed that there is no chain right now that is focused on security token offering and digital asset security. This is the main advantage with BlockX as it is the primary focus of the BlockX chain.\n\n\n“The overall vision is to create a platform where you can just log in and see your securities portfolio and trade all in one platform. That is the vision down the road — to have a diverse tradable security token offering platform”.\n\n\n<b>How does the BCX token interact with the Tokenizer system?</b>\n\nThis is in relation to the scalability and cost-benefit efficiency of BlockX. BlockX is an ecosystem in itself; It is a layer 1 protocol. The advantage over ethereum is that it is cheaper and the cost of tokens is cheap as well. The gas fee is cheaper as it is paid in BCX. It is also faster than ethereum. BlockX is a collection of different chains, with each being a smart chain on its own. It will eventually host bridges for users to transfer their tokens from one chain to another.\n\nAlong with the structured questions raised during the AMA, listeners also asked questions. They have to test a lot of things like the number of people and transactions the platform can hold. But they are looking to the first quarter of 2022 to launch. There are no hard deadlines here.
