In 2014, following the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, the movement gained national recognition, expanding from a twitter hashtag into 30 local chapters nationwide. Most recently, after the death of George Floyd, BLM has soared to public prominence and gained widespread attention. However, BLM has gained significantly more notoriety than fame, as they were the cause of numerous riots over the summer and fall of 2020. From May 26 to June 8, 2020, a total of 1-2 billion dollars worth of damage, as calculated by insurance claims, was brought about in 20 states. Violence against public and private property was especially severe in cities like New York and Los Angeles. In NYC, a BLM activist demanded the major and governor speak to a crowd of BLM supporters gathered at the Barclays Center, claiming "...if they don't, the next stop is the Diamond District." Additionally, BLM protests that devolved into riots led to some of the worst looting and rioting NYC had seen in many years. Lower Manhattan looked like a "...war zone..." after numerous stores were broken into, looted, and destroyed. Los Angeles experienced its own BLM-related disruption as protesters blocked traffic on the Pasadena Freeway, looted stores, shot fireworks at buildings, and attacked LAPD officers. This is unacceptable. BLM had a noble message, which was to bring attention to the downtrodden state of many in the black American community. But eventually the actions went too far, hurt too many innocent civilians, and took credibility away from the movement. BLM also took many social and political stances that were counter to the prosperity of black Americans, such as abolishing the police, eliminating the nuclear family, and adopting intersectional identity politics. Furthermore, the financial activities of the organization have recently come under scrutiny as Patrisse Cullors, a founder of BLM, purchased several plots of real estate totaling 3.2 million dollars. In totality, BLM has become suspiciously close to resembling a racket and engaging in racketeering. This cannot be allowed to continue. As a response to the damage caused by the riots in 2020, all states that suffered should bring law suits against the organization. The evidence in such cases would be overwhelming. Simply search youtube for any video from any news source covering any bit of the summer-fall period of 2020. There must be decisive action against BLM the organization. We are, after all, a country of laws. |

| body | https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4d/Border_barrier_near_IBM_9.JPG/2560px-Border_barrier_near_IBM_9.JPG (picture is US-Mexico border in New Mexico; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico%E2%80%93United_States_border) Illegal immigration has always been a hot topic every 4 years in the United States during presidential elections. According to estimates from Brookings, there are about 10 million illegal immigrants in the US, with ~50% originating from Mexico. So what do we do? During the 2020 presidential debates, Joe Biden stated that he would pursue a path to citizenship for all illegal immigrants. Since inauguration, the Biden administration has halted the border wall started under previous President Trump, and there has been a surge in illegal immigration at the southern border of the US. According to the Pew Research Center, about 3/4 of US citizens believe that illegal immigrants should be given a legal path to remain in the country. But what's the path? I propose this course of action. First, immediately halt all illegal immigration, with a policy that any person found to illegally enter the US after such date will be deported, no excuses. Second, allow all illegal immigrants currently in the country to become citizens the old fashion way, by passing the citizenship exam. No one will be subjected to deportation, however no illegal immigrant will have the rights of an American citizen until they pass the citizenship exam, which must be given in english. This proposal allows for forgiveness and empathy. We are not so stonehearted as to forcibly deport people who have children and families, even if they did enter illegally. Additionally, we are still a country of laws and justice. It would not be just to all the people who arrived legally and to all the people waiting to immigrate legally to the United States to simply grant 10 million illegal immigrants citizenship. |

| body | It's always been strange to me that we have something called Drag Queen Storytime. Drag Queen Storytime is a event where drag queens read stories to little children, frequently taking place in libraries, and less frequently in schools. Drag queens are males who use makeup and clothing to exaggerate a female appearance. This is done for entertainment purposes. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c3/RuPaul_by_David_Shankbone_cropped.jpg The reason given for instituting Drag Queen Storytime is to habituate young children to the LGBTQ community, so that children can be taught to see members of the community as normal. Forgetting all the religious/social/cultural concerns, let's assume that this is desirable. I never understood why Drag queens were the model to use for this. Why not just politely ask any willing gay, or lesbian, or transgender person to lead a storytime with children? Why look for Drag queens? As I understand it, people in the LGBTQ community just want to blend into society and not be looked at differently from anyone else. Drag queens seem the opposite of that. I would dare say that 99% of gays and lesbians just look like regular people, anyone on the street. If we are to introduce children to that community, why not start with them? |

| body | When the riots over the death of George Floyd broke out the summer of 2020, I was worried of my safety. I live in a major city, and from the news I could see cars being set on fire, police officers being attacked, stores being looted, and entire buildings being burned down. But something was wrong. The news from CNN, MSNBC, and other major network news stations seemed almost dismissive of the chaos that was happening. A reporter from MSNBC said on live TV: "I want to be clear on how I characterize this. This is a--mostly a protest. It is not--It is not generally speaking unruly." A building was on fire behind the reporter. CNN commentator Chris Cuomo went so far as to say that setting buildings on fire and rioting in the streets is expected behavior, because how else are people supposed to protest? Protests, according to Chris Cuomo, are meant to make us feel uncomfortable. Trevor Noah from the Daily Show said that the rioters, who were mostly black Americans, should loot and burn and destroy, because their ancestors were slaves and the country was built on their backs. I wonder if Trevor Noah would have the same reaction if the rioters set the Daily Show building on fire. Or went to his almost $30 million home and razed the place. Would he still believe that looting and damaging public and private property is justified if it were his car that was destroyed, or his family that was accosted in the safety of their homes. Would Chris Cuomo still think that rioting is okay because it is meant to make us uncomfortable if people marched into his neighborhood banging drums, destroying cars, and setting trash cans on fire. These news reporters and social commentators are not dumb. They all probably have IQs near 130, and they all likely graduated from a top 50 university. Surely they would understand that vandalism and rioting, and threatening the property and body of American citizens is not okay. But why would they then say these things on live television? I realized that they did know that rioting is unacceptable, and that defending the rioters is unjustifiable. They were lying to us. They were looking into the camera and into the homes of millions of Americans and lying straight to our faces. In fact, they were trying to convince us that what we were seeing with our own eyes was wrong. That our feelings were not to be trusted. They would use incredibly moving imagery and stories of past injustices done to black Americans to convince us that rioting is actually good. (I of course don't deny that black Americans have suffered in the past and that they were treated unfairly for most of America's history.) But rioting and unbridled public destruction is wrong, and there are no excuses. We all know this. But their words were so enticing. The pictures they painted to legitimize the violence in all major cities were so captivating. And then it hit me. We have a word to describe this. Who is known for deception? For trickery and emotional manipulation? Who is the prince of lies? Who will try to convince you that right is wrong and wrong is right. Satan. What the main stream media was doing was satanic. This was a moment of clarity. There was no frustration anymore. There was no anger at the commentators who were trying to turn rioting into a social good. You do not get upset at a viper for biting you, or a scorpion for stinging you. That is their nature. The devil will lie to you and try to corrupt you. That is his nature. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/022_devil_representation.JPG |

| body | One thing people in urban areas don't understand, and also people in rural areas, is that the other side has a different world view. Forget about all the political posturing and platitudes about Trump for a minute and think about why people in different areas resonate more with one or another politician. Who speaks for the rural people? Who speaks for the coal miner? The factory worker? The people who work work in manufacturing? Of course they lean more toward the right, because the left has been ignoring them and their needs. |

| body | English philosopher and theologian G.K. Chesterton is attributed the quote "When a man stops believing in God, he doesn't then believe in nothing, but in anything." https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/79/G._K._Chesterton_at_work.jpg/440px-G._K._Chesterton_at_work.jpg Many of us would paint ourselves as secular, as unaffiliated with a major world religion (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), or any other religion (perhaps Buddhism or Shintoism?). We believe in science. We believe that society has developed to the extent that the scientific developments of the previous 300 years have forever cast off the hold religion once had on us. We are not so gullible to believe in a floating man in the sky, watching and judging us. But are we really as secular and free from religious tendencies as we proclaim? How many of you have ever knocked on wood to ward off bad luck? This is said to originate from Germanic folklore, in which benevolent and evil spirits live in wood. Our knocks are meant to call the attention of the benevolent ones and distract the evil ones. How many of you read astrology signs or knows someone else who does? Spilled any salt recently? Or broken any glass? Or went out of your way to avoid walking under a ladder? How many of you have ever stubbed your toes on furniture, and immediately felt a sense of rage at the couch or chair? As if the couch or chair intentionally placed themselves there just to trip you? As if there were spirits, good or bad, in these pieces of furniture? We are not so secular as we seem. "body": "English philosopher and theologian G.K. Chesterton is attributed the quote \"When a man stops believing in God, he doesn't then believe in nothing, but in anything.\" \n\nhttps://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/79/G._K._Chesterton_at_work.jpg/440px-G._K._Chesterton_at_work.jpg\n\nMany of us would paint ourselves as secular, as unaffiliated with a major world religion (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), or any other religion (perhaps Buddhism or Shintoism?). We believe in science. We believe that society has developed to the extent that the scientific developments of the previous 300 years have forever cast off the hold religion once had on us. We are not so gullible to believe in a floating man in the sky, watching and judging us. But are we really as secular and free from religious tendencies as we proclaim?\n\nHow many of you have ever knocked on wood to ward off bad luck? This is said to originate from Germanic folklore, in which benevolent and evil spirits live in wood. Our knocks are meant to call the attention of the benevolent ones and distract the evil ones. How many of you read astrology signs or knows someone else who does? Spilled any salt recently? Or broken any glass? Or went out of your way to avoid walking under a ladder? How many of you have ever stubbed your toes on furniture, and immediately felt a sense of rage at the couch or chair? As if the couch or chair intentionally placed themselves there just to trip you? As if there were spirits, good or bad, in these pieces of furniture?\n\nWe are not so secular as we seem. | body | Matt Walsh has posted that someone from AOC's family has refused to accept the donation, therefore they will have to be returned to all donors. The end game here was clear from the beginning. Accept or reject, AOC suffers a loss. If she accepted, then she will have admitted that her political opponents are better than her at taking care of her family. She will be unable to complain in the future about anyone's living conditions because she will have shown that all she does is talk and no action. If she rejected, then she will have admitted that she would rather her grandmother live in squalor than accept help. She will have admitted that she doesn't really care about her grandmother's well-being. This was all a political game. Conservatives should learn from Matt's chess move. In the future, whenever progressives use their family members to complain about how the government isn't helping, start a gofundme. Do they truly care about their family? Or is it political game? Call their bluff. |

| body | I realize this sounds scandalous. You would never consider it. Am I bigoted? Am I a horrible person? Of course not. There actually is a case for pay discrimination, and I think you might agree with me if you give it some consideration. We always hear stories of women being paid less for the same work as men. The gender pay gap is approximately 80 cents in the US, according to unofficial and official sources. Certainly the gap is there, but the underlying insinuation is that the difference is a result of sexism and bigotry. Of course I dispute this claim. My main reason is that employers and business are all profit seeking. If it were possible to pay women, who are equally competent and perform the same work as men, less than men, the male unemployment rate would be astronomical. Why would an employer pay a man more money to do the same amount of work? The business would certainly gain more profits by hiring all women. But better explains the gap is lifestyle choices, but that's another story. I am here to make the case that pay discrimination is actually desirable. Let me explain why. Assume there is an employer who is the incarnation of all the worst assumptions from generally the political left. He is bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobic, and he dislikes apple pie (how dare he). We'll call him Bob. Bob will pay men more than women, straight people more than gay people, white people more than black people, and tall people more than short people. Regardless of competence and work efficiency, certain groups of people will receive more pay. Now Bob runs a business, and his business has competitors in the same town. To satisfy his bigotry, Bob pays his male employees $20/h and his female employees $15/h, even though his female employees are just as good as his male ones. This is unfair to his female employees! Someone should do something! Absolutely. Something has actually been done. Bob is bigoted against women, and he should have to pay for it. He is paying for it. He pays the difference in wages between his male and female employees, multiplied by the number of male employees. That extra $5/h he pays his male employees, he could have kept it as profit for himself. He could have hired more women, or he could have lowered the pay for males down to $15/h, but he chose to be bigoted. In effect, Bob is being taxed for his sexism. Eventually, if Bob does not get rid of his unfair treatment, he will go out of business. Bob's competitors will have no problem hiring more women than men, or paying men than same as women. His competitors will have a lower cost basis and a higher profit than Bob. Ultimately, his competitors will outcompete Bob. Bob must change, or loss his business. "body": "I realize this sounds scandalous. You would never consider it. Am I bigoted? Am I a horrible person? Of course not. There actually is a case for pay discrimination, and I think you might agree with me if you give it some consideration.\n\nWe always hear stories of women being paid less for the same work as men. Let me explain why.\n\nAssume there is an employer who is the incarnation of all the worst assumptions from generally the political left. \n\nNow Bob runs a business, and his business has competitors in the same town. Bigotry is not good business practice, and the free market will work to eliminate it.\n\nSee, wasn't it at least a little interesting? I admit that this concept is not mine. I heard it from a lecture given by Milton Friedman. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/20/Portrait_of_Milton_Friedman.jpg/960px-Portrait_of_Milton_Friedman.jpg\nMilton was a Nobel Prize winning economist from the Chicago school of economics. | body | Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket. This quote is attributed to Eric Hoffer, an American social philosopher. We all recognize that sometimes we need to stand up for what's right, stand up to injustice, and stand up to unfairness. As a result, many activist groups are formed. The most prominent one these days is of course Black Lives Matter (BLM), another is the MeToo movement, but that has lost its steam. Whether you believe in the legitimacy or the justness of the beginnings of such groups, a trend exists among them that puts a bad taste in our mouths. To quote Eric Hoffer, they end up as rackets. Looking at BLM, we can all see the signs of a dishonest group that works to sow strife and division rather than bring healing and peace. Why? Thomas Sowell, a great American philosopher, economist, and freelance photographer provides an answer. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/44/Thomas_Sowell_cropped.jpg/440px-Thomas_Sowell_cropped.jpg We must look at the incentives. What will happen when peace is achieved, when there is no more bitterness between groups? The answer is that groups like BLM become irrelevant. BLM took in over $90 million in 2020. It's leaders, to say the least, are well off. Will they make this much money if all problems are solved? No they will not. Therefore, groups like BLM always end up as rackets because they are incentivized to keep wounds from healing, to keep bringing up new problems, and to never accept nor honestly strive for peace. |

Bigotry is not good business practice, and the free market will work to eliminate it. See, wasn't it at least a little interesting? I admit that this concept is not mine. I heard it from a lecture given by Milton Friedman. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/20/Portrait_of_Milton_Friedman.jpg/960px-Portrait_of_Milton_Friedman.jpg Milton was a Nobel Prize winning economist from the Chicago school of economics. His ideas have brought sense into a sometimes a senseless world. He has inspired many people who later also achieved great acclaim, Thomas Sowell, for example. Another story for another time :) |

Let me explain why.\n\nAssume there is an employer who is the incarnation of all the worst assumptions from generally the political left. \n\nNow Bob runs a business, and his business has competitors in the same town. To satisfy his bigotry, Bob pays his male employees $20/h and his female employees $15/h, even though his female employees are just as good as his male ones. This is unfair to his female employees!
