The Mauryan Empire was founded by Chandragupta Maurya in 322 BCE and lasted until 185 BCE. It was one of the largest empires in the world at the time and encompassed much of modern-day India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and parts of Afghanistan.\n\nThe Mauryan Empire was known for its strong centralized government, efficient administration, and vast network of roads and highways.
