In the unlikely event that you're interested I explain here - https://steemit.com/steemit/@develophper/what-happened-to-my-post\n\nBut now you're probably wondering what the hell this picture is.\n\nImam Tawhidi seems to be a bit controversial in the muslim world. Well he certainly gets a lot of criticism from seemingly muslim people. The most tame way of putting it is that it's generally along the lines that he's not a proper Imam or muslim cos he discredits some teachings or understanding of certain aspects of Islam, the kind of stuff west associates with fundamentalist Islam, whatever that means but just to clarify not extremists! I know we've got Christian fundamentalists but the truth is they're just proper Christians, the rest (such as my parents) just enjoy the social club and consequential supportive feeling you get from being around people that you get to know when they're on their best behaviour which everyone is when they go to church. Anyway now we're verging into a story on my view of religion which isn't the point.\n\nBasically my take on Imam Tawhidi is that he's a decent, independent-thinking and caring guy. His parents moved to Austrailia when he was either very young or not born and I think they're from Iran but I could be wrong on that. My point is, if ever the whole world caliphate thing was realistically possible it would be through more of these guys than the nutjobs blowing shit up.\n\nHe is music to the weary ears of many Australians who  feel that very little is being done to curb extremism and I imagine he is popular with a lot of muslims because the only people who could take a dislike to this guy at least without knowing him personally would need to have some very peculiar views on the world. But even more than that, he comes across as having more integrity than any of the leaders of government funded religious bodies that don't even want to discuss some of the more troubling aspects of the religion.\n\nHis ideological arch nemesis, just trying spice up the language a bit, is the girl in the picture, Yassmin Abdel-Magied. I don't mean cos she's an extremist muslim or something cos she's not particularly offensive by the definition of what's deemed an acceptable level of disdain for western (I think we can refer to Australia as a western country but if not insert Europeanesque) culture and method of governance today. She does sometimes spout nonsense about wanting Sharia Law but I don't take anyone serious if they're saying that whilst looking as glamorous as she does. To be fair, in my opinion she is quite hot. But not just that she wears make up, she's got one of those slightly more stylish hair coverings which don't go down all the way behind the neck. Her clothes are clearly well thought out in terms of achieving a certain style. \n\nNow before you tell me I'm ignorant of long standing fashions that exist in some oppressed culture my white head is just ignorant of - SHUT UP. She's a pretty woman with a clear idea of how to look nice. This is not how they roll in any country ruled by a quasi Sharia style legal system so again, Shut up. In a non-overtly-sexual western style respect for women of the you-are-my-equal-in-worthiness-to-pursue-all-opportunities-that-interest-you persuasion, I can quietly and non-predatorily appreciate the aesthetics. \n\nThis isn't news to her either. You know when you look in the mirror if you're looking good bad or indifferent.\n\nWhich makes it such a shame in her case is that she dribbles the oral diarrhea in the form of west bashing that she does. It is inconceivable that she would have the platform that she does in an Islamic country. I'm not saying this makes us better than Islamic countries, just different. In fact for any Jorden Peterson fans he suggested a possible reason for some people, women in particular, taking the side of Islamic countries and having a double standard when comparing the ethics of behaviour between Islamic countries and western ones as being down to an innate attraction to subjugation. More specifically (my interpretation and I was paraphrasing) women naturally try to push men around and demand unreasonable things (my wife does this all the time and I still love her) as a way to test how strong you are. Bringing it back to psychoanalysis speak, how likely you are to rise up the \"dominance hierarchy\". Which when you compare the typical egalitarian, social justice focused and overall quite soft men of today to the self righteous, traditionally masculine men of the middle east there is a joke to be had there somewhere.  Before I'm accused of misrepresenting Jorden Peterson, he doesn't stand by this as fact but came up with it as a potential explanation when asked about the subject in Q&A session.\n\nI've banged on enough already and I don't want to insult her too much so I'll finish on this. She may well just be navigating the world in the way she understands it. Hopefully she's just misguided and scripting off some ideas that have been drilled into her that she has a responsibility to promote these ideas as supreme to all other ideas. But as normal citizens who want to do our bit in the fight against extremism in all it's forms we should show appreciation for the Imam Tawhidi's of the world. Whether he is right or wrong about his religion, I don't know, but he promoting western values as compatible with his religious ones without any attempt to cut at the edges.",
