| body | An Unofficial Guide to Using AWS Well Architect Framework For GDPR As Cloud computing maturity adoption matures more and more businesses small, medium, large and enterprise are pushing the envelope to take advantage of it. The promise of one click button solutions seems to be on everyone mind and honestly the idea is not far fetch. Cloud computing was born with the idea of getting to market quickly, in AWS you are able to build complex infrastructures in hours not days using the Infrastructure as Code. There are so many tools to automate infrastructure creation such as Cloudformation, Terraform and AWS CLI just to name a few. However, this powerful ability of speed creates additional challenges when not properly implemented. In some cases, the proper planning of Security, Compliance, Security and Cost Optimization is an afterthought. Although this is Security and Cost Optimization is one of the five pillars in AWS Well Architect Framework. |

I have read so much about affiliate niche website and there was a time i was at a point of starting one but ended up procrastinating until i didn't have to venture into that again. Clinkbank? I know of that and did signed up a affiliate account in 2015 but JVZOO; only heard of it but haven't check the platform. Thanks for your contribution and participation. I appreciate a lot and hope you get a lot of upvotes on your entry |

| body | I have committed to writing a free ebook on Cryptocurrency for those who want a simple understanding to Cryptocurrency. I will be posted snippets of content here on stemmit please feel free to add additional content if what I am saying is not clear enough for the newbs. With that being said let's get started ... ## Revolution Time – An Introduction Online Digital Cash You have probably heard someone talking about Bitcoin, Digital Currency or maybe even BlockChain. You might have heard that this is new money and you should be investing in it or from a negative side that it is just something that will pass and don’t pay it any attention “Normally you will hear this from someone who doesn't understand it” or someone who fears this technology because they don’t want you to invest in it for reason that may financial hurt their business model. Remember that in most cases when people don’t understand something they will talk negatively about things that they don’t understand. In this post, I am going to help you navigate the waters in simple and clear terms once you are done with this mini-course you will have a full understanding of what is Cryptocurrency and why you should be investing in it. It is my mission to educate as many people on the potential of this new form of money. **Word of warning: Dismiss this information at your own risk.** ### What Is Cryptocurrency? This is one of the most frequently asked questions out there. What is cryptocurrency? I would like you to think of a very simple concept, think digital cash. Cryptocurrency is another form digital or basically alternate currency that don’t have a physical form nor is it controlled by any government it’s value is solely determined by the market supply and demand. It uses something called Cryptography to ensure that your transaction is secure. Most people today you are using some form of digital currency although it is backed by a piece of paper and it is controlled by the government and central institution called banks … Think Debit Card. Ok, you are probably thinking so why should you care? Well, Cryptocurrency is just the beginning it is just an application built to run on something called BlockChain technology. The first successful cryptocurrency emerged from the application called Bitcoin, by an anonymous founder called Satoshi Nakamoto. He realized there was a problem with commerce on the internet, in his paper he writes about the issue with relying on financial institutions serving as trusted third parties to process electronic payments (Digital Cash). Bitcoin started out very slow in August of 2013 the price of a Bitcoin started at $.06 BitCoin for one bitcoin at the time of writing this post Bitcoin price is $4300 it is down from its record-breaking price of $5,000 across all markets. Just think if you had purchased just $100 dollars’ worth of Bitcoin when it first got started. Bitcoin was then followed by the birth of other types of cryptocurrencies some competing against Bitcoin. I would like to make it clear Bitcoin was not created by the creator for the purpose of investment it was created to solve the 3rd party trust issue when doing transactions online. **Here is an excerpt of his whitepaper** >Commerce on the Internet has come to rely almost exclusively on financial institutions serving as trusted third parties to process electronic payments. While the system works well enough for most transactions, it still suffers from the inherent weaknesses of the trust based model. Completely non-reversible transactions are not really possible since financial institutions cannot avoid mediating disputes. The cost of mediation increases transaction costs, limiting the minimum practical transaction size and cutting off the possibility for small casual transactions, and there is a broader cost in the loss of ability to make non-reversible payments for nonreversible services. With the possibility of reversal, the need for trust spreads. Merchants must be wary of their customers, hassling them for more information than they would otherwise need. A certain percentage of fraud is accepted as unavoidable. These costs and payment uncertainties can be avoided in person by using physical currency, but no mechanism exists to make payments over a communications channel without a trusted party I don't want to overwhelm you at this point look for my next post **Understanding how Cryptocurrencies work** |

| body | Wow ... I must say this is a great post. Okay how have I made money online. That is a great questions ... 1. Lead Generation - Started out doing MLM and realize I could not find enough leads so I found a course that showed me how to generate leads online. This was way before FB once I learned how to generate leads I started marketing my services to other MLM. In turn, I took my knowledge of leads generation and create an info-product to sell to other networkers. I still build niche websites and create money not a lot but it brings in some money the problem is I keep getting blind sighted by shiny objects. And the next big thing to bill someone hourly for doing ... If I stay the path I can easily find a niche and put some affiliate products on it and make money. Check out Clickbank, JVZOO or once you pick a sub-niche then go a goggle search for "Affiliate Programs" for example if you have a blog about bitcoin you can do a google search for BitCoin Affilate products. |

| body | I must say I am falling in love with Golang this programming language allows me to easily write code or script that I can easily compile and run on any platform and yes I am mean any platform. Here is a short example of a simple piece of code that allowed me to get my real internet IP address. ```go package main import ( "fmt" "io/ioutil" "net/http" "runtime" ) func main() { res, _ := http.Get("https://api.ipify.org") ip, _ := ioutil.ReadAll(res.Body) fmt.Println("My Internet IP:", string(ip)) } ``` Now that was not the real reason that you are reading this post you wanted to see a simple example of using AWS with Go ... I will not go into much detail in this post I will just show you the code ... ``` go package main import ( "flag" "fmt" "io/ioutil" "os" "github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/aws" "github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/aws/awserr" "github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/aws/session" "github.com/aws/aws-sdk-go/service/ec2" ) var ( pairname string region string svc *ec2.EC2 ) func exitErrorf(msg string, args ...interface{}) { fmt.Fprintf(os.Stderr, msg+"\n", args...) os.Exit(1) } func savePem(f string, k string) error { return ioutil.WriteFile(f, []byte(k), 0666) } func main() { pairname := flag.String("k", "", "Keypair Name To Create (Required)") region := flag.String("r", "us-east-1", "Region name") flag.Parse() if *pairname == "" { flag.PrintDefaults() os.Exit(1) } svc = ec2.New(session.New(&aws.Config{Region: aws.String(*region)})) keyresult, err := svc.CreateKeyPair(&ec2.CreateKeyPairInput{ KeyName: aws.String(*pairname), }) if err != nil { if aerr, ok := err.(awserr.Error); ok && aerr.Code() == "InvalidKeyPair.Duplicate" { exitErrorf("Keypair %q already exists.", *pairname) } exitErrorf("Unable to create key pair: %s, %v.", *pairname, err) } savePem(*pairname+".pem", *keyresult.KeyMaterial) fmt.Printf("Created key pair %q %s\n%s\n", *keyresult.KeyName, *keyresult.KeyFingerprint, *keyresult.KeyMaterial) } |

| body | This is the first part of two part post … As a developer in order to implement CI(Continuous Integration) properly one of the first things that you should be implementing Unit test code which goes hand in hand with TDD(Test Driven Development). Basically, there are three types of test that are should be done by the developers of an application. 1. Unit Testing 2. Integration Testing 3. Acceptance Testing Another practice in the Agile movement is BDD(Behavior Driven Development) this is not always implemented in the developers arsenal but if you are doing agile development I think it goes hand in hand with your agile stories. #### Unit Testing #### Unit test focus on a small block of code basically that is one of the reason it is called Unit Testing you are basically testing a function or an object. ##### Python Unit Test ##### Read more of Python Unit Testing http://pymbook.readthedocs.io/en/latest/testing.html ##### Javascript Unit Testing ##### ##### Go Unit Testing ##### Read Alex’s Blog post https://blog.alexellis.io/golang-writing-unit-tests/ #### TDD(Test Driven Development) #### TDD or Test-Driven Development is a process for when you write and run your test this does not happen as much it should because it seems developers sometimes don’t have a clear picture of what they coding, being lazy or basically would like to throw it over the fence to an oncoming developer or even DevOps. If you are not using TDD then that means testing is a second-hand citizen in your environment TDD is simply before you start writing the actual code of the application you will write the test first. I can tell you one the most frustrating thing is to either document someone else’s work or to write the unit test for another developer's code, I have been tasked to do that before and I can tell you that it is a nasty and unthankful job. It means you must read through their code and then write a test for each unit, the problem with this is normally you are not given the premise of what the application actually does. The TDD process consists of the following steps: 1. First write your test remember you should not have written any code. 2. Run your test, your test should fail because all you have is your framework or function definition. 3. Run your test of course your test should fail. 4. Now write the real code to make the test pass. It is really that simple, if more developers start practicing the TDD approach of developing there will be a more test coverage which leads to better code, less bugs and less headaches for the next developer who has to take over their code. #### BDD(Behavior Driven Development) #### Behavior Driven Development primary focus should relate to the business behavior of the developer’s code. This is key to quality code as the Business Owner or Product Owner works with the developer in order to create the application to correct way the first time around or at least the second time. This is real agile at work now all of the above processes still need to be done but in a nut shell, the PO and when I say PO I say it in the sense of the person who would be the user of the system, not just the coined PO because this person has great knowledge of the technology. ###### Watered Down Steps To BDD: ###### The business person specifies behaviors they want to see in the system. The developer asks questions based on their understanding of the system, while also writing down additional behaviors needed from a development perspective. I know at this point you are probably saying OMG … I thought this was post was about Ansible Behavior Driven Testing. It is but I wanted to give some a simple foundation for Operation, SysAdmins and Security Automation Specialist as the majority of DevOps seemed to think mostly about Devs with the NoOps attitude. But I digress as that is a full post in itself … In the beginning of this post, I talked about testing and how it relates to developers but we have not touched on the idea of Infrastructure-As-Code which is normally done by Operations, SysAdmin, Security Admins. The nature of automation has now deemed that you become a developer if you want to stay in this industry. So I needed to go over development practices as you are now writing code … Is that not what a developer do? In the next post if you are using Ansible you will learn how to test your Ansible Playbooks in BDD style. Additionally I will touch on some of the other tools like Chef, ServerSpec, Vagrant, and Docker. |
