      "body": "Growing up i had my fare share of roller coaster rides.  There is a lot that went wrong...things that could go right, never did.  My parents divorced when i was still pretty young. That was one of the hardest things for me. Everyone has their own battles they face on a daily basis. \nDetails are not clear...i however do remember that it happend during a 6 week period while my dad went away for a training course.  He came back and was told by my mom that she wanted a divorce... it happened so fast! \n\nWith the divorce came a lot of extra baggage... and the new guy, well i never took a liking in him at all.  Your gut just tells you when there is a snake in the grass!  We lived with my mom after the divorce...moved to a different town even. Thats when it started... late night visits, candy to keep one quiet.  If mom went to the store and you stayed behind, you knew what was about to happen. \"Mom, please can i go with you...No, i will be quick!\" Watching television even had its down side...mom will get up to fetch a drink, then comes the quick slip of the hand down the shirt or pants.  Being terrified to go to bed simply because you knew you'd have to be tucked in and...\n\nI thought i was the only one going through this, until i confided in my sister one day. She told me the same has been happening to her. I was sad for her, but relieved to know i am not alone in this no more. I remember it like it was the other day, we had chicken pox and he offered to put balm on it. Every day the same routine, for a week. Of course mom had no idea... it was always a quick slip of the finger here and hands down the shirt there. This went on for about a year. \n\n School was out and we went to visit daddy for the holidays. He was seeing someone at that time...what a sweet lady she was.  One week into our vacation is when it came out. My sister was taking a bath and happened to mention it to my cousin.  Whom went straight to my grandmother and told her the whole story. My dad was making his bed in the other room...she walked in and said: \"there is something you need to know thats been going on!\"  I remember being soo mad at my sister for telling. Filled with fear of what would happen... all i could hear was his voice in my head saying \"if you tell anyone it'll be your last\". \n\nWe never went back.  Child services went there and he denied everything...he made us out to be liars. Said: \"what do they know, they're just kids looking for attention!\". Mom even took his side, blindly...regretting it to this day.  Surprisingly they got married right after we moved out.  My dad fought for custody, which went on for over a year. As we were not allowed back at moms house we had to live with our grandparents. Finally after a long battle and getting custody we went to live with dad.  Things took a while to get back on track...living with a single dad was hard. It taught us to cook, clean and be responsible at a very young age.  My dad remarried after a few years, to his lovely wife to this day.\n\nWe never really had someone professional to talk too. I still have memories playing back in my head. \nI like to sit and reflect back on my life...to see how far I've come. Wondering what would've been if nothing was said all those years ago? Today i am in a very good and happy place. Blessed to have a loving husband and my sweet little terror...       "body": "Being away feom home... i tend to be missing out on a llot.  Two weeks ago my older sister got married. Unfortunatley i could not be there, so i decided to write her an open letter. \n\n\"A sister is not like the average best friend. You fight a little more, but with this you love a little more too.\"\n\nHey sis... \n\nThis is sooo hard...it kills me to be over a thousand miles away on this Big day where I should be standing by your side...! We have been through sooo much together... we've laughed, cried, fought even pull each other's hair ... we had our ups and we definitely had our downs... So, I thought with not being here today... I'd send you this little something special...to leave my mark and to show my love and support on this big and special day! I wish that I could've been there...  to see you transitioning into the next big chapter of your life. I am so excited to become a part of a bigger family... whom I can't wait to meet!  \n\nI always knew this day would come, the day when you proclaim your love to Brendan.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of us, but I could not be more excited to see my Big sister find someone who is good to her and who will continue to treat her well for years to come. \n\nBefore you embark on this new and exciting journey with the love of your life, there are some things I want you to remember as you start your new and exciting lives together. \n\nYou'll both have to make sacrifices.       "body": "Hey, I'm Dominique Graaff...29 year old born and raised in South Africa.  I came to America in 2011 \"after a bad breakup\" as a Au Pair...for those who don't know, It's like a live in Nanny.   Africa had nothing left to offer me...other than its beauty and my friends and family...it felt like the right time to move on.  \n\"So,  My now hubby told me about this new website, so I am still trying to figure out this seemit.com ...please be patient -_- LOL!\"\nThe Plane ride was something else... 18 hours of no sleep, checking the map...Watching 4-5 different movies. Now, you can imagine the emotions I felt prior to arriving here in the United states... Not sure what to expect.  I only knew what I've seen on television and movies.  New York City... concrete jungle, the city that never sleeps, the Big Apple and sex and the City.  I was amazed!!!  It was snowing the time we arrived here.  By we, I'm referring to the group of girls that came over for the Au Pair in America program.   Everything about New York City took my breath away... I even did a snow angel on the side walk of NYC,  being my first time seeing snow and all!  Everything being more advanced... cars zooming by, bumper to bumper yellow cabs...Time Square, OMG!   Orientation, one week of training was a priority before we all went our separate ways... starting our new adventures with our new families.  The train ride to New Jersey right before meeting the family was nerve wrecking...not knowing what to expect, if they will take a liking in me or not...if we will get along?  It took me about 4-6 months to truly find my feet... getting used to the new surroundings. Being Jetlagged, culture shock...seeing residential homes with no high walls...some leaving their homes  and cars unlocked.  I mean where I grew up,  we could never do that without having your home broken in to or your car/personal belongings stolen.  The hardest I thought would be the driving, steering being on the opposite side of the vehicle and also driving on the opposite side of the road.  But, surprisingly I fell right into it with no problem at all... \nI met my now husband in 2012 through Facebook (thank you Mark Zuckerberg). Through one post and some mutual friends, I was able to see the post and liked it.  He friend requested me, and we started messaging.  It all snowballed from there... in a good way :)  We got our little fur baby from a Amish family in Christiana, Pennsylvania...Yes, he is the one in the profile picture.  Jack Russell terrier...my little terror.  Currently I am going through the green card and residency process... what a headache!  All in the name of Love...       "body": "Hey, I'm Dominique Graaff...29 year old born and raised in South Africa.  I came to America in 2011 \"after a bad breakup\" as a Au Pair...for those who don't know, It's like a live in Nanny.   Africa had nothing left to offer me...other than its beauty and my friends and family...it felt like the right time to move on.  \n\"So,  My now hubby told me about this new website, so I am still trying to figure out this seemit.com ...please be patient -_- LOL!\"\nThe Plane ride was something else... 18 hours of no sleep, checking the map...Watching 4-5 different movies. Now, you can imagine the emotions I felt prior to arriving here in the United states... Not sure what to expect.  I only knew what I've seen on television and movies.  New York City... concrete jungle, the city that never sleeps, the Big Apple and sex and the City.  I was amazed!!!  It was snowing the time we arrived here.  By we, I'm referring to the group of girls that came over for the Au Pair in America program.   Everything about New York City took my breath away... I even did a snow angel on the side walk of NYC,  being my first time seeing snow and all!  Everything being more advanced... cars zooming by, bumper to bumper yellow cabs...Time Square, OMG!   Orientation, one week of training was a priority before we all went our separate ways... starting our new adventures with our new families.  The train ride to New Jersey right before meeting the family was nerve wrecking...not knowing what to expect, if they will take a liking in me or not...if we will get along?  It took me about 4-6 months to truly find my feet... getting used to the new surroundings. Being Jetlagged, culture shock...seeing residential homes with no high walls...some leaving their homes  and cars unlocked.  I mean where I grew up,  we could never do that without having your home broken in to or your car/personal belongings stolen.  The hardest I thought would be the driving, steering being on the opposite side of the vehicle and also driving on the opposite side of the road.  But, surprisingly I fell right into it with no problem at all... \nI met my now husband in 2012 through Facebook (thank you Mark Zuckerberg). Through one post and some mutual friends, I was able to see the post and liked it.  He friend requested me, and we started messaging.  It all snowballed from there... in a good way :)  We got our little fur baby from a Amish family in Christiana, Pennsylvania...Yes, he is the one in the profile picture.  Jack Russell terrier...my little terror.  Currently I am going through the green card and residency process... what a headache!  All in the name of Love...
