| title | Welcome (Again)! |
| body | Hello everyone, I know that it's been a while, but I wanted to check in with you all. I've been busy, but in a good way. I'm hoping that all my effort(s) will help certain things come into fruition. As the year progresses (I can't believe we're in August already), I hope everything I am doing makes sense. I've been laser like focused with certain goals. Almost as focused as Kobe Bryant when Chris Rock tried to talk to him. https://thumbs.gfycat.com/IgnorantForcefulJay-size_restricted.gif In this post, I want to highlight one of the things that I've been doing. Earlier this summer, I started a Youtube Channel called "HoopLifeTv". It is a channel that I've been planning since Steph Curry did Burger King commercials with his dad Well, maybe not that long. Let's say I've wanted to do this channel for 2 years just to be safe. But seriously, I've wanted to do this channel for 2.5 years. I started another Youtube channel prior to this, but it focused specifically on the Cleveland Cavaliers. I wanted to do my HoopLife channel before that one, but I figured I would start off "easier". Then, I would work my way up to my original plan. HoopLifeTv is a channel dedicated to everything basketball. It does not only cover the NBA. It will also cover things such as the WNBA, the Big 3 League, the NBA 2K League, the G-League, and so on. In fact, I'm working with a minor basketball league called the American Basketball Exposure League that I will do videos for. I want this channel to be a haven for super fans of the game. I currently have 18 videos on my channel, so I'm still getting accustomed to it. Most of my videos are audio, but once I get more experience, comfort, and better equipment, I will start implementing video. This is a fun opportunity to be more relaxed, but also professional. My Steemit articles are a bit more relaxed and conversational than my other articles would be, which is the way I like it. I like that I can use this platform to inject humor(although i'm not funny :P) ,conversation, and more while still honing my craft. My HoopLifeTV channel will do the same. It would be greatly appreciated if all of you check it out. I'm not a YouTube expert, so i'll still make "rookie" mistakes, but I embrace them. I ask that you are patient with me and stay tuned as I start what will be a great journey. Without further ado, here is a link to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZTd2wIOr9_JsS81toUSATQ I hope you enjoy watching as much as I do creating! Thank you. |

| title | Warriors Take A 2-0 Lead Over the Cavaliers |
| body | The Warriors are playing like the champions they are. They beat the Cavaliers by 19 points to take a commanding 2-0. They beat the Cavs 122-103. The NBA Finals started on Thursday. The Cleveland Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference after a 7-Game series against the Boston Celtics. The Cavs were on the verge of elimination, but they prevailed. In order for the Cavs to advance to the NBA Finals, they had to beat the Boston Celtics in Boston. The Celtics were previously 10-0 at home before their Game 7 loss. They had a chance to get to the NBA Finals, but for the second straight year, the Cavs beat them in the Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors were in a similar position. They were fresh off of a 7-Game series against the Houston Rockets. The Rockets were arguably the favorites in this series, but they showed their playoff inexperience. The Warriors are the defending champs, and have won NBA championships in the last 2 out of 3 years. The Rockets had a better regular season, but the Warriors still managed to beat them. But, the Rockets were also shorthanded. They played the final two games without their star point guard in Chris Paul. Paul suffered a strained right hamstring in Game 5. Despite around the clock treatment, his injury did not heal in time for Game 7. His presence and contribution could have changed the dynamic of the final two games against the Warriors. However, the Warriors won the series and advanced to the NBA Finals. In the first game, the Warriors won in overtime. Game 1 was admittedly one of the weirdest games I have seen in a long time. The calls by the referees, J.R Smith's blunder at the end of regulation, and the small scuffle at the end made this game weird. If you didn't watch the game, you may not have seen J.R Smith's crucial mistake at the end of the game. J.R Smith gained possession of the ball and ran behind the three-point line. But, rather than take a shot or pass, he held onto the ball and let the clock run out. The game was tied, and a shot or pass could have gave the Cavs the lead. LeBron James demanded the ball, but J.R Smith did not pay attention. Smith thought the Cavs had the lead, but they didn't. His mistake caused the game to go into overtime, where the Warriors went on a run against the Cavaliers. J.R Smith's mistake has been the topic of (Sports) social media all weekend. Smith even received cheers and MVP chants from the Warrior fans, since the Warriors benefited from his mistake. J.R Smith messed up, but he still has all series to redeem himself. In tonight's game, the Warriors took charge. Steph Curry led the Warriors with 33 points. Curry shot 9-of-17 from three-point range. He made 9 three-pointers, and broke a finals record. Curry became the player with the most made three-pointers in a single NBA Finals game. The record was previously held by former NBA star and three-point specialist Ray Allen. Curry also is on the verge of another record, which is the most three-pointers made in the playoffs. Ray Allen has the most three-pointers in the playoffs with 385. Steph Curry is 16 three's away from breaking that record. It is likely that he will break it in this series. The other Warriors also had great games. Kevin Durant had 26 points after a rough Game 1. Klay Thompson had 20 points. JaVale Mcgee had 12 points shot 6-of-6 from the field. Shaun Livingston scored 10 points off the bench. The series continues on Wednesday. The series will resume, but this time in Cleveland. The Cavs will be back on their homecourt, where they play best. The Cavs were down 0-2 against the Celtics, but once they came home, they tied the series. This series could have a similar outcome. The Cavaliers are down but not out. If they tie the series, we will have a competitive series on our hands. As a basketball fan, I want this series to go to Game 6 or 7. In order for that to happen, the Cavs must win in Cleveland. The fate of this series lies in their hands. |

| title | Boston Celtics Advance To Conference Finals |
| body | Hello, Hola, Bonjour. I know it's been a while since I've written, but I still have been keeping up with the playoffs. In fact, I watched an exciting game that came down to the wire. Last night, the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 114-112. This game literally came down the last possession. The 76ers had the opportunity to tie, but Ben Simmons throw a long pass that ultimately ended up being caught by the Celtics. Simmons was trying to throw the ball further down the court, in hopes that one of his teammates would catch it and make a shot. The Sixers had 0 timeouts, which meant they had no time to draw up a play. Ben Simmons improvised in a way most players do in that predicament. Ultimately, the Sixers stayed in this game, but their lack of experience costed them. Jayson Tatum scored 25 points. The rookie stepped up big for the Celtics. On a team without their two star players, Tatum is one of the young players that stepped up for the Celtics. Jaylen Brown scored 24 points. Terry Rozier scored 17 points. Al Horford scored 15 points. Horford, the veteran, gives the Celtics leadership and experience. Marcus Smart scored 14 points and Aron Baynes scored 13 points. The Celtics had contributions from several players. The Celtics will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Conference finals. The Cavs swept the Toronto Raptors, who were the first seed of the Eastern Conference. The Cavs embarrassed the Raptors after a tough series in the first round. The Pacers challenged the Cavs more than the Raptors. Now, the Celtics have the chance to beat the Cavs. Personally, I am not that they will, but they could force the Cavs into a Game 7. The Eastern Conference Finals start on Sunday. The Celtics are the higher seed and will start the series in Boston.I am looking forward to a potentially good series. The Celtics have played well since the start of the playoffs. They could potentially dethrone the current Eastern Conference champions in the Cavaliers. Regardless, May the best team win. |

| title | Pacers Force A Game 7 |
| body | On Friday, the Indiana Pacers did the unexpected. They forced a Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pacers thrashed the Cavaliers in a 121-87 win. The Pacers looked nearly unstoppable last night. They looked like a better team than the Cavaliers. The Pacers had 7 players in double figures. Victor Olapido tallied a triple-double with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Domantas Sabonis scored 19 points off the bench. Darren Collison scored 15 points. Lance Stephenson and Myles Turner both scored 12 points each. Thaddeus Young and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 10 points each. The Cavaliers numbers were less spectacular. At one point, the Cleveland Cavaliers were down by 36 points. LeBron James had 22 points. It is odd when 22 points is a good game for most people, but 22 for LeBron is abnormal or a "less than stellar" game. Jeff Green had 13 points. Rodney Hood scored 12 points. Besides those three, no other Cavalier scored in double figures. After a close, but unbelievable finish in Game 5, the Cavs were lacklaster. In Game 5, LeBron James hit a clutch three-pointer to win the Game. The Cavs were a completely different team on Friday. The series continues tomorrow. Game 7 will be in Cleveland. This is the final chance the Cavaliers have to advance to the second round. They can either win, or the Pacers will advance. Both teams are capable of winning, and I expect to see a great game tomorrow. May the best team win |

| body | Hi everyone! This will be a brief post, but I wanted to share something that I've done for the past few weeks. A little over a month ago, I started a YouTube channel. I don't have much experience with YouTube, but I decided to give it a shot. I figured what do I have to lose. The channel is basketball themed and discusses a certain team. That's right! My channel is about the Cleveland Cavaliers. .gif) I am an Ohio native, and I’ve been a Cavs fan for nearly all my life. My interest in basketball started because of the Cavaliers. A YouTube channel is something I’ve pondered, but never had the confidence to try. Now, I am in a different mind state. I want to do one that is general basketball, but I figured doing one about my favorite team is a good way to start. My channel consist of recaps, NBA 2K18 gameplay, and a series called "Where are they now?". The series features former Cavalier players, and what they've done since their time with the Cavaliers. For example, the first video is of Damon Jones, who is now an assistant coach for the Cavaliers. My channel is still a work in progress. I have a lot of things to learn. However, the more comfortable I am, the more content I will do. I will also start my general basketball channel. For now, if you would be so kind and check out my channel. I'd hate to sound like a guy trying to sell you something, but I'm excited about my channel. So if you can, I thank you in advance. .gif) Here is the link to my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChuE00VxeQtfNAD5LPtKEJQ |

| title | Sixers Win 16 Straight to Finish the Season |
| body | https://steemitimages.com/DQmeMHE3ErnrKiPe5BhJBMHoDSKsf1ZipTGs9FjXhP9w3ix/246x0w.jpg) The NBA regular season is coming to a close tonight. The top teams of each conference are preparing for the NBA playoffs. The playoff seedings are nearly set after weeks of teams battling for playoff spots. One Eastern Conference team fought hard to get the third seed of their conference. They won 16 straight games and even beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to get the spot. The team I am referring to is the Philadelphia 76ers. The Philadelphia 76ers finished their season earlier tonight. The Sixers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 130-95. The Sixers finished their season with style. Ben Simmons, a potential Rookie of the Year candidate, only played 22 minutes. He finished the game with 4 points and 6 rebounds. Justin Anderson was the 76ers' leading scorer with 25 points. Anderson averaged 5.7 points per game and 13.2 minutes per game. In this game, he played 31 minutes. Anderson had an opportunity to showcase his talent. Dario Saric was the second leading scorer with 24 points. The Sixers, the third seed of the East, will likely face the Miami Heat. The Heat are a solid team, but the Sixers are capable of beating them. Although they are missing one of their key players, they can still win. A few weeks ago,Joel Embiid suffered a left orbital fracture. It is unlikely that Embiid will play in the first game of the playoffs. "I don't think I'm ready to play," Embiid said. "It still doesn't feel all the way right." Joel Embiid is a key player for the 76ers. He is arguably the best center in the NBA, and the star player of the Sixers. His charisma alone makes him a star. While there is no time table for his return, the Sixers can advance to the second round of the playoffs without him. Philadelphia is one of the best young teams of the NBA. Their success this season is an example of what a team can do when they rebuild. If a team is patient, and they draft the right pieces, they can become a threat. This is only the start for the Sixers. As they Sixers mantra/saying goes, "Trust the Process". |

| title | Should Jimmy Butler Come Back? |
| body | In February, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jimmy Butler meniscus tear in his right knee. In the February game against the Rockets, Butler drove to the basket for a short jumper. When he missed the shot, he went up for his own rebound. After grabbing the rebound, Butler landed awkwardly, and feel to the ground and held his knee. Butler couldn't put weight on his leg, and had to be helped off the court by his teammates. On Saturday, Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau annouced that Jimmy Butler has been cleared for contact. Butler has missed the last 15 games for the Timberwolves. He averaged 22.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.9 steals per game before his injury. His contribution to the Timberwolves helped the Timberwolves become a playoff contender. Sam Amick, of USA Today Sports, reported on Monday that Butler took part in five-on-five action for the first time since suffering his injury. According to Amick, the session went well and Butler remains on track to return before the end of the regular season, but it remains unclear precisely when that might be. Butler also participated in today's practice. The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently 7th in the Western Conference with a record of 44-34. They have a 1.5 game lead on the New Orleans Pelicans, who are 8th in the conference with a record of 43-34. The Timberwolves dropped from 4th to 7th while Jimmy Butler was injured. In the Western Conference, teams cannot afford to lose. If a team loses two straight games, they can drop a seed, or even be knocked out of playoff contention. The Western Conference is a tough, competitive conference where anything is possible. If Jimmy Butler returns, the Timberwolves can make the playoffs, and get to a higher seed. If Butler doesn't return, the Timberwolves will likely stay in 7th place or miss the playoffs. Butler's return in the regular sesaon is a risk. Do the Timberwolves risk missing the playoffs by not playing Butler? Or, do the Timberwolves rest Butler until the playoffs, and he plays in the first round? The Timberwolves are in a tougher situation than they realize. However, Jimmy Butler is anxious to return. If Butler feels he is ready, and the Timberwolves agree, they have to take the chance. |

| title | Who is this year's MVP? |
| body | The end of the regular season is quickly approaching. The playoffs are nearly two weeks away. In the past, the regular season awards were given throughout the playoffs. However, the NBA decided to shake things up. Last year, the NBA held their first annual NBA awards. The awards ceremony took place after the playoffs ended. The ceremony featured awards such as the Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year award, Sixth Man of the Year award, and the Most Valuable Player award. Russell Westbrook was the recipient of the Most Valuable Player award. Westbrook had a historic season where he tallied 42 triple-doubles. He broke NBA legend Oscar Robertson’s record for most triple-doubles in a single season. Westbrook also averaged a triple-double with 31.6 points per game, 10.7 rebounds per game, and 10.4 assists per game. This year, Russell Westbrook is averaging 25.4 points per game, 10.2 assists per game, and 9.7 rebounds per game. He is on the verge of averaging a triple-double for two consecutive seasons. Westbrook’s 2017-2018 stats are arguable MVP caliber numbers. However, his chances of getting the MVP award are slim. The MVP race is tougher this season. Houston Rockets guard James Harden is a potential candidate for MVP. Harden is averaging 30.7 points per game, 8.7 assists per game, and 5.4 rebounds per game. The Houston Rockets also have the best record in the NBA with 61 wins and 14 losses. James Harden has a legitimate chance of winning the MVP award, but there is another candidate. LeBron James is another potential MVP candidate. James averages 27.4 points, 9.1 assists and 8.6 rebounds on 55 percent shooting. Last night, he had 41 points, had 10 rebounds and 8 assists against the Charlotte Hornets. LeBron James has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for four weeks this season. His most recent Player of the Week was his second consecutive Player of the Week award. James praised his fellow MVP candidates, but he has a different pick for MVP. “I would vote for me,” James told The Associated Press. “The body of work, how I’m doing it, what’s been happening with our team all year long, how we’ve got so many injuries and things of that nature, guys in and out, to be able to still keep this thing afloat, I definitely would vote me.” The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a season full of highs and lows. They are currently third in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs have gone through chemistry issues, trades, and injuries. Despite their setbacks, LeBron James has played through it all. He even considers it his best season. “I’ve said it,” James said. “Obviously, I’ve had some unbelievable seasons before, but I’ve said it: This is the best I can go, just from a complete basketball player standpoint.” The MVP race is an exciting one. The award is up for grabs. Each player has a legitimate chance at the MVP award. I didn’t even include New Orleans Pelicans Forward Anthony Davis, who has helped the Pelicans turn their season around. Davis should also be considered for the MVP award. At this point, I would give the award to James Harden. But then again…. I could change my mind within the next week. |
