Salió en caravana desde el aeropuerto internacional Simón Bolívar de Catia La Mar vía la autopista, rumbo a la capital venezolana. El hijo de inmigrantes italianos se convirtió en figura internacional en 1975 cuando era un desconocido y compitió en las 200 millas de Daytona, una carrera de motos de gran prestigio. Salió desde el último lugar en la parrilla de largada y fue pasando uno a uno a sus rivales finalizando de tercero, por encima de quien fuera en ese entonces, el quince veces campeón del mundo, el italiano Giácomo Agostini.\nYa conocido por su sobresaliente actuación en Daytona, el joven de 19 años nacido en Caracas fue a competir en la magna competencia del globo terráqueo y continuó impresionando a los entendidos al obtener la victoria en el Gran Premio de Francia tanto en la categoría de 250cc y 350cc, esta última división en la que culminó su intervención ese año de 1975 conquistando el título mundial que sumó tres años después, luego de repetir la corona máxima, pero en la categoría de 750cc.</p></div>\n<center>\n\n![JohnnyCecotto016_600.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdegiBkdF6EZa9hhbAiGLNYp1A8HTeFXqU1CjSyrTWajY/JohnnyCecotto016_600.jpg)\n<center>\n\n<center><a href=\"http://motores.com.ve/motoresven/hace-40-anos-johnny-cecotto-revoluciono-el-motociclismo-mundial/\"><strong>Fuente</strong></a></center>\n\n<div class=\"text-justify\"><p>A comienzos de la década de los años 80 el venezolano se retiró del motociclismo e incursionó en el automovilismo compitiendo en el campeonato de Fórmula 2 en la que llegó a ganar tres pruebas durante 1982, temporada en la que culminó en el segundo lugar. Luego de sanar de sus fracturas retornó a las pistas para actuar en la categoría Turismo consiguiendo el triunfo en el campeonato italiano del año 1989. También corrió el torneo alemán de Superturismo sumando par de campeonatos durante las temporada de 1994 y 1998.</p></div>\n<center>\n\n<div class=\"text-justify\"><p>Hoy día Johnny Cecotto se dedica a manejar la carrera de sus dos hijos, quienes decidieron, al igual que él, incursionar en automovilismo, deporte en el que sobresalió en parte de su transitar por los trazados del mundo. Johnny Amadeus, el mayor de sus vastagos ha estado presente en varias categorías incluyendo a la GP2, considerada por mucho tiempo como la antesala de la Fórmula 1.       "body": "<div class=\"text-justify\"><p>El 26 de marzo de 1974 tuve que cubrir para el Diario El Mundo (Un importante diario venezolano para esa época)  el combate por el título mundial de los pesos Pesados entre el titular George Foreman y el retador Ken Norton.
