In brief, Proof of Stake is an algorithm that achieves consensus by requiring users to stake a number of their tokens in order to be considered to validate blocks of transactions, and earn rewarding fees. Its aim is provide distributed consensus for the network participants and build a secure system where its users are incentivized to validate other peoples' transactions via fees while guaranteeing that the network will not be compromised by malicious attackers and is immune to hackers.\nThe selection process of a validator is determined in a two steps. First, the algorithm considers the user's stake, e.g. the amount of currency the user is staking. Currently centralized exchanges are offering way more features than decentralized exchanges as well as liquidity, something crucial if you are a trader. The only real downside to centralized exchanges is the vulnerability to hacks and that they are controlled by a central authority. \n\nDecentralized exchanges are a solution to those problems but they lack one very important feature, liquidity, there is almost no volume on decentralized exchanges which make it really hard if not impossible to trade, sometimes you can’t even find buy or sell orders. Clearly decentralized exchanges have to solve this somehow and that’s when L2 Exchange comes into play. \n\nLevel 2 Exchange will solve the problem of liquidity by offering a few benefits to market markers and institutional investors which in return will help with the liquidity.       "body": "When you think about trading you might picture in your head those old movies about wall street, guys yelling their orders from across the room, manually trading. The market has evolved, especially in the last few years. The need for advanced trading tools has increased and it's extremely hard for a lonely trader to compete with banks, hedge funds or market makers.\n\nThat's when trading bots come into play but even those might not be enough. The need for high speed exchanges is increasing. The crypto market is even worse, the high volatility makes it really hard to trade unless you have good speed but there is another concern, security. Centralized exchanges are known for being vulnerable to attacks. Millions have been lost in the crypto market due to exchange hacks. Decentralized exchanges started to make an appearance but they are not enough. DEX's are certainly more secure than CEX's, however, they lack important features like trading tools but also liquidity. \n\nL2 Exchange plans to solve all these issues by combining the benefits of a DEX with a CEX. Users will be using a decentralized deposit system while benefiting from all the advanced and professional trading tools l2 exchange offers. Level 2 will also enable margin trading and margin funding as well as derivatives. \n\nMost importantly, the Level 2 exchange will enable trading speeds similar or better than top exchanges.
