Bahkan, Evan Blass yang kerap membocorkan spesifikasi dan fitur terbaru mengungkapkan Google akan meluncurkan Android P versi Preview pada pertengahan Maret ini.\n\n“Android P Developer Preview 1 akan hadir pada pertengahan bulan ini,” tulis Blass di akun Twitter-nya @evleaks.\n\nGoogle belum mengungkapkan nama Android P tetapi sesuai tradisinya Google akan menamakan Android P sesuai dengan nama kue atau camilan. Saat ini ada beberapa nama makanan yang diawali huruf ‘P’ dan menjadi kandidat kuat Android P seperti Pie, Pi, atau Pistachio Ice Cream.\n\nLantas apa yang baru atau fitur terbaru Android P. Berikut ulasannya seperti dikutip @engadget:\n\n1. Android P akan memiliki sistem keamanan terbaru yang mampu mencegah aplikasi mencurigakan untuk mengakses kamera dan mikrofon smartphone, menyusul saat ini beredar malware yang bisa merekam suara latar atau mengambil foto tanpa sepengetahuan pemiliknya.\n\n2. Android P akan mendukung tren notch (tonjolan) smartphone dan fitur multiple screen yang membuat pengguna bisa melakukan lebih dari satu aktivitas pada layar yang sama. Namun, fitur mode malam (dark mode) yang banyak dinantikan, kabarnya belum akan tersedia pada versi ini.\n\n3. Android P juga akan mendukung layanan profil bluetooth HID yang dapat menyulap perangkat menjadi keyboard QWERTY atau mouse berbasis bluetooth. Fitur itu telah muncul pada 2014, saat anggota forum CodeAurora dari Qualcomm mendaftarkan patch untuk bluetooth HID.\n\n4. Android P juga akan memiliki tampilan antarmuka (UI, User Interface) yang baru dan menyenangkan. Bloomberg melaporankan antarmuka Android P dirancang sedemikian rupa seperti iOS untuk “menggoda” pengguna iPhone berpaling ke perangkat Android.\n\n“Salah satu fokus utama pembaruan Android P tahun ini adalah ingin mengajak lebih banyak pengguna iPhone untuk berganti perangkat ke Android. Upaya tersebut dilakukan dengan peningkatan tampilan antarmuka software,” tulis laporan tersebut.\n\n5 . Google akan meningkatkan kemampuan Google Assistant pada Android P.\n\n6 . Menurut XDA Developers, Android 9.0 P akan hadir dengan opsi yang lebih canggih untuk memblokir phone scam (penipuan lewat panggilan telepon).\n\nAndroid Oreo membuat pengguna bisa memblokir nomor tertentu dengan memasukkannya dalam daftar. Nantinya, Android P memungkinkan pengguna bisa langsung memblokir telepon dari semua nomor tak dikenal, nomor pribadi, telepon umum, atau nomor yang tidak ada dalam daftar kontak Anda.\n\n7 . Merekam pembicaraan telepon\n\nFitur ini sangat penting para jurnalis. Android P bisa merekam pembicaraan telepon tanpa adanya aplikasi khusus. Fitur yang muncul dalam Android Open Source Project (AOSP) ini akan mengeluarkan bunyi yang berulang setiap 15 detik jika pembicaraan telepon itu direkam.
