Sin embargo, esa calificación que la mayoría de los amantes del cine defienden es, tal vez, un cuchillo para sus propias gargantas. Un cuchillo que en manos de algunos críticos de cine puede ser muy peligroso. \nDesde la existencia del cine se han producido un sinnúmero de películas en todo el mundo pero comparativamente un número muy reducido son realmente consideradas obras de arte. Octavio Getino, realizador de cine y televisión, expresó: «Convengamos que el cine es, antes que nada, un poderoso medio de comunicación social, aunque por sus características peculiares, puede también convertirse, aunque sólo a veces, en medio de expresión artística, según los valores estéticos que aparezcan en algunas de sus realizaciones. En este sentido, la calificación generalizada que se le ha otorgado como “séptimo arte” al cine en general, reviste un tono más presuntuoso y “marketinero” que real». En tal sentido, veo como un error que algunos críticos de cine actúen como críticos de arte porque no todas las películas son obras de arte. \nPareciera que algunos  ̶  repito: algunos  ̶  de los llamados críticos de cine van a ver una película esperando encontrar el primer plano fallido para relatar la crónica policial de un crimen cuya víctima es el filme. Víctima que tiene dolientes y que solo fue al encuentro amistoso con el público. \nPienso que el crítico tiene un compromiso con el desarrollo de la cultura cinematográfica y lejos está de cumplir una función educativa si actúa con prejuicio, sesgo y apasionamiento. Se convierte, en ese caso, en lo que catalogaron al mismísimo Truffaut  en su momento, un «sepulturero del cine». \nCada película se produce dentro de un entorno muy particular que la hace única. Es un esfuerzo colectivo que con mucho o poco talento, con muchos o pocos recursos, trata de darle forma a una historia en imágenes y sonido. Por lo tanto, un crítico no solo debería ver lo que se proyecta en pantalla sino lo que está detrás de ella. Una buena crítica, creo, debería indagar en el filme y ofrecerle al espectador las directrices para evaluarlo en su justa medida. Debe darle la oportunidad al público de apreciar una película en todo su contexto. A fin de cuentas, el espectador es el único con derecho a decir me gusta o no me gusta. \nAdemás, el cine engloba toda la actividad cinematográfica y una película es solo el resultado de esa actividad. Conocer cómo se desarrolla esa actividad permitirá comprender el resultado, porque si no estaríamos hablando de «críticos de películas», de los cuales hay montones en Internet. \nFinalmente, y como dice Carlos Zahumenszky, editor de gizmodo: «El cine es una cuestión de expectativas, y las críticas de cine son la mejor manera de destrozarlas».\nAutor:\nGuillermo Chávez",

En cambio, hacen un uso a mi parecer excesivo de los planos cortos; por ejemplo, si en una escena un personaje abre una puerta es casi obligatorio el plano detalle de la mano girando la manilla, sin que esto tenga un significado especial. Le temen al ritmo lento y constantemente pisan el acelerador corte tras corte. Se olvidan que parte del lenguaje audiovisual lo conforma el sonido y con el cual podemos también establecer un ritmo determinado independientemente de la banda de imágenes. \nTodo lo anterior es una apreciación muy particular. Se convierte, en ese caso, en lo que catalogaron al mismísimo Truffaut  en su momento, un «sepulturero del cine». \nCada película se produce dentro de un entorno muy particular que la hace única. Es un esfuerzo colectivo que con mucho o poco talento, con muchos o pocos recursos, trata de darle forma a una historia en imágenes y sonido. Por lo tanto, un crítico no solo debería ver lo que se proyecta en pantalla sino lo que está detrás de ella. Una buena crítica, creo, debería indagar en el filme y ofrecerle al espectador las directrices para evaluarlo en su justa medida. Debe darle la oportunidad al público de apreciar una película en todo su contexto. A fin de cuentas, el espectador es el único con derecho a decir me gusta o no me gusta. \nAdemás, el cine engloba toda la actividad cinematográfica y una película es solo el resultado de esa actividad. Es un esfuerzo colectivo que con mucho o poco talento, con muchos o pocos recursos, trata de darle forma a una historia en imágenes y sonido. Por lo tanto, un crítico no solo debería ver lo que se proyecta en pantalla sino lo que está detrás de ella. Una buena crítica, creo, debería indagar en el filme y ofrecerle al espectador las directrices para evaluarlo en su justa medida. Debe darle la oportunidad al público de apreciar una película en todo su contexto. A fin de cuentas, el espectador es el único con derecho a decir me gusta o no me gusta. \nAdemás, el cine engloba toda la actividad cinematográfica y una película es solo el resultado de esa actividad.
