      "body": "To begin an article let us ask the obvious question: Why trading cryptocurrency, why not just invest and hold? The answer is very simple: Much better risk control. \n\nPrinciple of this strategy is to use continuation structures of technical analysis and use them as entry triggers on the crypto currency that trader picks as tradeable. A currency or token can be added into \"watchlist\" if it meets the required charasteristics where we as investor assume that there is a potential in such instrument. Adding currency or token into watchlist and possible play is only step one, the next key step is not to invest yet, but to wait for adequate technical setup to appear and then enter in long trade, using tight stop loss. Using such approach allows trader/investor to have much more flexible and improved RR (risk to reward ratio) on trade compared to default invest and hold method. \nThis strategy can be used on margin or non margin trades in cryptos. \n\nThe key aspect is to focus on clean symmetric structures which are following strong up trend. If there is a strong up trend, often there is a good reason for it, and therefore we have fundamental reason for why to be involved in such asset. \n\n# Research\n\nPersonally i do research in ERC20 token space every week for about 1-2 hours to see if there is any new and exciting project with solid potential on horizon, and if there is such token i add it to watchlist. Once the asset is on watchlist (could be piece of paper, or notepad file or marked/flagged in trading software), i will start to track it on m15-h1 charts if there are any continuation structural setups along the trend. Usually looking for structures with 3 highs and lows that are tightening towards right side and potentially squeezing after breakout. \n\n# Watchlist\nCurrent watchlist on my side currently consists of this assets:\n-Augur\n-Ethereum\n-TenX\n-SNGLS\n-Musiccoin\n-Stellar\n-BTC\n\nDoing quallity research can make a huge difference, however it is rather hard to teach someone how exactly to do proper research on coin becouse it touches so many different areas from understanding the technology, to market cap, to projects development team and other factors. \n\n# Factors to consider adding token on watchlist\n\nMain three factors to consider adding token on watchlist as tradeable asset, those factors are required to be understood:\n-understanding technology, understanding the potential of use\n-market capitalization\n-development team (best reliability with proven experianced team, less reliable simply by judging developers as capable).\n\nThe key part of using technical structure for entry is that investor has less risk if one does not properly judge the project/token based just on the 3 factors described above. Using only the factors above would fit the strategy into \"invest and hold\" type of strategy, however as soon as one adds technical structure as execution of entry then the strategy quallity improves, simply becouse the room for error is narrowed down on risk side (as long as trader uses stop loss and controls the risk of course). \nUnderstanding the technology is usually not a very hard part, especially since we live in era where new technologies keep coming out every week, especialy younger generations have no problem quickly adopting to new tech. In most cases when it comes to solid tokens sadly that is not enough, just becouse token or technology looks good on whitepaper it does not mean that such token will be successful. \nThe next key aspect is understanding the market capitalization and the overall supply. A very simple way to explaining it would be to simply look for tokens that have low supply (eg bellow 100 million tokens) and have also market capitalization that is bellow 10 million USD. It is in fact possible to have edge on finding the bottoms and tops in markets, however it does require thousands of hours in front of charts in order to spot the patterns. My aim in this article is for reader to learn those patterns without spending such required time. \nStrongest bottoming attempts will usually come from condensed price structures with a lot of activity and liquidity in them, best thing for a trader when it comes to finding bottoms is to not focus on double bottom pattern, but rather look for more complex and larger structures. The pattern which is my prefference when it comes to trading the rotations and bottoms is clearout. The name comes from the process that happens in such structure, beginning with few or several highs/lows that are made within structure, a liquid strong drop which clears all the stop loses from the participants in structure and following with strong bullish push above key highs in the structure. Basically a 3 step process that generally confirms such pattern is taking a place. In most cases if squeeze and bottoming process is taking place the price will hold the flipped supply and keep moving upwards, leaving trader with a choice to use very tight stop loss. \n\nTrading rotations could be difficult to some traders at beginning since it requires different mentality that most traders have when it comes to trading, meaning that most traders will think to short instrument once the price is trading around the previous highs and thinking of long if asset is trading around the lows, eg- buy low sell high. Rotation trading is completly oposite, it is waiting for highs to be broken to establish the strenght on buyers, and then buying price around and above the nearby highs. In most cases shorts will get squeezed out of the participants who were short in such structures. \n\nWhen it comes to searching of bottoming clearout patterns, it is best to stick to assets that have down trend since it is more likely that bottom will be formed on such asset, rather than seeking them on up trending assets and looking to find pattern in retracement legs. \n\nThose patterns are persistent and appear in all markets including forex, equities, bonds, cryptocurrencies and others. \nThe only difference is the time frame that one can trade depending on market, in forex markets any time frame can be traded since markets are liquid and fees are low, however cryptocurrencies for example have to be traded on charts 15 minute and above in order to have enough liquidity to enter and exit position quickly and to cover the fees on most exchanges. \n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNbAeyHmG1oTaAZW7mtBfn8e3u6CugQUro9TjJ2o9Qu2N/image.png)\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXVbBXDqqkz4rUzrXbPdXvtwM8HHHkvEkRL1b8QeTrYCc/image.png)",

      "body": "Markets tend to move in drastic ways day in and day out, some days are more volatile and some are less, some price moves are slow but persistent and some are quick and agressive. Generally the strongest moves come from the situation where many market participants are condensed and positioned on one side of trade which gets squeezed and liquidated/rotated. Short squeeze is well known pattern in equity markets, however it does also appear in most other liquid markets such as forex. \n\nMy trading of short squeeze is mainly focused on low cap equities that are trading between 1-5 USD per share price, those are usually stocks that are heavily shorted due to bad fundamentals that company is projecting (large debt, overall weak balance sheet of  company) which leads to concentrated short positions, especially if price over long period of time does not move far to the downside (for example price trading around same USD price level for several months). \nBest way on trading the short squeeze is to focous on down-trending stocks that have slow peaced down trend on daily chart. Then the key trigger for entry is either a news catalyst (little positive news for company) or my preffered way which is technical bottom where price breaks all the key supply levels and then creates the squeeze where shorts start to cover their positions. \n\nExample of short squeeze on GLBS.\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYLkDT6VcBJzYm2wV3XAPn2v4P5CtftN2Y4aw5wKbk49D/image.png)\n\nNotice few key characteristics that project a likely squeeze on GLBS:\n\n-price of equity under 5 USD\n-slow long standing down trend\n-price breaks all key supply (highs) levels on strong momentum\n\n\nOnce short squeeze.....always short squeeze. Instrument that has history of short squeeze spikes, is very likely to have same pattern repeated somewhen in the future. This means that short squeeze can be traded in both ways, going long and going short as long as trader has good timing. Buying the bottoming process once the supply is taken out, and shorting the top of the spike once bearish rejection begins (usually wait for strong red candle on h1 chart).",

Generally traders will approach with anything new with fear and overblown spreading of false information, and when it comes to binary options its nothing different. Binary options shouldnt be feared simply becouse they do have certain advantages over other insturments, however at the same time they do carry large negative aspects which are simply not as exagurated in other instruments. Generally my suggestion would be to trade binary options after one has made some decent experiance with trading of either equities or FX, it is important to completly understand the patter that one trades before doing any binary options trading, since there is little room for trading patterns that have low statistical edge. \n\nHere is short list of characteristics that binary options provide.\n# Pros:\n-very liquid market, ability to trade on high frequency time frames (5,10,30 second charts), providing plenty oportunities each day.\n-no calculations needed in regards to margin use of account, much more straightforward capital allocation on trade compared to equities or regular FX.\n\n\n# Cons:\n-low quallity over risk control and reward ration on position. Generally options pay 80-90% on the investment of position, which means that even with cutting the positions (closing option before expiration) it is hard to get good RR on trade, since small volatile move is enough to render option ins 30-40% loss. \n-requires very good quallity of technical/fundamental pattern with statistical performance over 60%. If pattern that one trades performs only 50-50 (every other time price does not do what trader expects) it is very hard or almost impossible to make profits. Requires better understanding of market than some other trading instruments. \n\n\nThe broker that i use to trade is IQ option, which in my opinion and experiance is probably the best broker out there. Their platform is outstanding (with little technical hitch here and there) it is very robust and easy to use with minimal UI which is always great to see. Support is also very helpful and usually pretty fast. There are many binary options brokers out there, but by far the largest advantage that IQ option has over many others is the ability to use candlestick detailed charts in their software, it is quite shocking that most binary brokers use line charts for data feed.",

It is simply impossible to condense the reasons and factors into single article, let alone single sentence since the number of variables at play is very high. In order to approach it correctly the situation has to be enlightened from correct angles, and every reason has to be further tied with another sets of reasons that are playing behind the scenes and pushing the trader in consistent red number returns. \n\nSince it is not realistic to put single reason on top priority as main set for failure, i will be laying down the reasons without numbering them, in reality it depends a lot on specific person for which reason/variable is really setting them behind the most. \n\n# Wrong expectations \n![wrong-expectations.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYnvfGM89PvNrGn9ZyJBP9VTnGUFLnE7YDAr89dhaGVSb/wrong-expectations.jpg)\n\nHaving wrong set of expectations is one major issue that is shared across nearly all beginner and even experianced traders that are still not consistently profitable. Creating trading strategy that does not acknowledge the statistical performance of whatever the trader is trading is going to set for false expectations where trader will be setting him/herself for expectations of market behaviour that most of the time dont happen. \n\nExpectations of trader are formed from many different approaches of how one judges and forms strategy based on the actions taken on market behaviour research. If certain market pattern is researched with wrong tactic, the conclusion that trader will take out of will result in badly formed strategy. End point, this is something that is shared across thousands and thousands of traders, as well as teachers and contributors of theoretical information about technical and fundamental analysis. Over my several years of trading experiance this isnt just something present in beginner traders, its even heavily present in those who teach other traders either trough books, DVDs, or any kind of other lessons. A lesson structured wrongly, will result in creating false expectations for trader who is learning, and the fact is that it is very easy to create such situation .\n\n# Both ends of equation\n\nLet me tie this to previous point about expectations, and let me give practical example how someone could be setting beginner trader for false expectations on market behaviour and trading performance which is even more important. \n\n**Theoretical approach to flag pattern trading**\nI could have used hundreds of book and video and forum examples, but let me spare on mistakes of those posters and the readers time, and let me present essentially what it is all about:\n![Screenshot_757.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVSto5CyrtLwwcpSTxZhejD4eoQnPqbwXRh825Fzm8SC1/Screenshot_757.jpg)\n\nNow a trader reading the strategy only from judgment of this picture or from number of few pictures of trades that were all profitable (becouse author perhaps wants to highlight only positive aspect of strategy) is going to result in completly wrong expectations, which will cause trader to :\n\n-not cut loss often becouse one has expectations that most patterns traded should work\n-scaling positions often too high becouse trader expects most patterns to actually work in his favour\n\nWhich in efficiency turns into what happens to most traders, they simply turn into corner start forming conspirancy theories about how all markets are manipulated, brokers are following them on every step, trying to trip them over, technical patterns dont work becouse somebody else is already taking advantage of it. \nBasically all those theories are very common in  free trading forms, and all a result of bad expectations of what and how actually technical chart patterns behave in reality. \nTo put it straightforward, in reality the technical patterns behave much less sucessfully than most traders are setting their expectations with. However that does not mean that one cannot trade them profitably. \n\n\n**Realistic both ends explanation of flag pattern trading to set correct expectation to trader**\n\nThe realistic approach to set trader for correct way is to present not single, nor 5 or 10 winning examples of patterns with X strategy, but to set 100s, or 1000s of examples both of winning and loosing trades. This is absolutely needed so that trader really sets correct tone in mindset of what to expect.This will then eliminate all irrational concepts that trader is forming due to false approach. \n\n\nBellow are two examples of trades and patterns, one was simply winning and the other was losing. \n![Screenshot_758.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZuDiGdvKBbtZZgwW5HpQsxXd1yEMYq8NKkhPvtJQQaPD/Screenshot_758.jpg)\n\n![Screenshot_759.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQvrKS9FvgFEvqjF8HEZytZbbE5d81wLDYCKcnzZNUmfa/Screenshot_759.jpg)\n\nNow take this approach and multiply the amount of examples by 100 and then one is really setting trader for much better expectation of strategy and market behaviour, with my trading strategy i win on avarage 40-50% of trades only, simply becouse that is what real behaviour of technical pattern really is, however the strategy is shaped correctly to still come on top consistently profitable even due to that factor. For anyone who wants to really understand the functionality of technical patterns, simply dont take a book in your hands, take a paper, a pencil, open charts and start doing statistical count of how many of X patterns are behaving along the rules of your strategy. This will break illusion of expectations and set one for realistic tone, afterwards come the next task of adjusting the variables in strategy to come on top green, considering the performance factor of X pattern. \n\n# Common behaviour patterns in profitable traders\n\n![Successful-Forex-Traders.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYa9tf1GtZ6CPHehRRaPNjMkw8Jc5NujwCymyxMz3kSJs/Successful-Forex-Traders.png)\n\nThat is correct, profitable traders do share certain set of decisions in strategy that are common to majority of them, which most of losing traders do exactly the oposite. Not a bit different, but exactly the oposite the polar difference if you will. \nAll those observations were based from my few years of tracking both groups of traders. \n\n**1.Cutting loses fast**\nMost profitable traders cut loses within very small distance of movement. Most beginner and/or losing traders preffer to use large price distances for stop loses in order to give price \"breathing room\", or to have lesser statistical chance of being \"wrong\". \n\n**2.Threating individual position with emotional attachment**\nMost profitable traders have no attachment to position, becouse they know that each entry is just a play, it might or might not work, and there is no real grounding in knowing really for each specific position if it might work with extremely high statistical guarantee. Very common pattern in losing traders is being in position where they \"know\" price will go in X direction becouse they know very well the asset, or they did very good research, or the structural pattern is very symmetrical. This then leads often to catastrophic position scaling issues and blowing up. \n\n**3. Being risk focused instead of profit focused**\nFocusing on risk first is the priority of every trader, configuring strategy to acknowledge that is important which comes to position scaling and consistency of risk per trade in terms of % of capital. Not understanding this point by default make anyone trading a very dynamic risk based strategy where there will be traders where account is exposed by X amount and other trades where it will be exposed by 5X or 10X. Consistency of risk is needed, otherwise its likely that trader will have emotional attachment to position. Pretty much all consistent traders with expection of 1 that i know of use fixed % of risk, and focus on setting first stop loss and figuring how much they are willing to risk, before they even bother to think about profit taking or figuring where the price might go. \nMajority of losing traders do it the other way around, see the structure, and trying to predict the potential profits as they main priority. \n\nThere are far more things to list which i will do over more series of post, the main takeaway for anyone trying to be profitable trader is , that all of the listed weaknesses can be fixed if addressed properly.",
