| body | Nice and neat rundown. The exchanges you mentioned are very reputable, and even in the event that a hack would happen, it is very likely that these companies would handle it in a way that minimizes customer loss. I wouldn't recommend these for more frequent trades that don't involve fiat money simply because the fees are just not the best. Personally I almost exclusively go to [Switchain](https://www.switchain.com) since it gives you a comparison of different exchanges for each trading pair and shows you the best deal for free. |

| title | How I Make Sure I Always Get The Best Price When Trading Crypto |
| body | I'll keep this short and focused. With the insane amount of interest and traffic surrounding crypto market, we're hit with hundreds of offers and services on daily basis. Traders and investors are trying to get the best deal possible and it's getting harder to sift through all the options. When exchanging currencies, obviously the first concern is safety. Common sense and a decent online research should be enough. Following common practices, such as preferring non-custodial exchanges (the ones that don't hold onto your assets) and keeping your assets in cold or offline storage should keep you safe. The other big thing is obviously getting the best rate possible. This is exactly what I wanted to talk about... I use [Switchain](https://www.switchain.com) for most of my transactions. This is what the first step of the way looks like: So, as you can see, you're prompted to choose which currency you want to exchange and which you want to exchange it into. You will get a list of exchanges sorted by rates, so that the best deals show first. In addition to super user-friendly interface and always ensuring you get the best deal, it is free to use, it is a non-custodial exchange (no third parties hold onto your assets) and has a solid user base of satisfied customers. I hope you get value out of this service. I wanted to share my positive experience since it might make someone else's life a little easier. Best of luck! |

| body | It is very peculiar to me why people still use exchanges that require accounts, personal information and are holding people's assets. There are so many exchanges that don't need any of that. I almost exclusively use [Switchain](https://www.switchain.com) since it spits out a comparison of rates from a few exchanges all of which are anonymous and don't include an exchange holding onto your assets. |

| body | Great article! I would add one more important difference. Traders and investors enter the market in a different way. While investors typically get involved in ICOs, traders are more likely to use exchanges. ICOs are often discussed on Reddit and similar forums, while exchanges are judged on their reliability and transaction fees. So it's not unusual to use something like [Switchain](https://www.switchain.com) to compare rates between different exchanges before they make a trade. |

My assumption is that's because it somehow feels more legitimate to go to a big company rather than to an independent website. | body | Very valid points brought up. I would add just a couple of things: 1. **A tip regarding choosing the exchange**. It was mentioned here that they all establish their own fees. The fees are different not only between exchanges but sometimes between different trading pairs on the same exchange. Use a free service like [Switchain](https://www.switchain.com) to compare rates between a few different exchanges for each individual transaction. 2. There are **custodial and non-custodial exchanges**. Put simply, the first ones hold onto your assets that you leave with them which is what makes it vulnerable. Once it's hacked there's nothing you can do but watch. Non-custodial ones only hold your assets for the time necessary to complete the exchange. |

| title | What is DAI and How to Buy It |
| body | DAI is “a collateral-backed cryptocurrency whose value is stable relative to the US Dollar”. Basically, 1DAI = $1 so it’s a great asset if you want to protect yourself from price fluctuations. If you are curious about how it works, have a look at [this article]. (https://medium.com/cryptolinks/maker-for-dummies-a-plain-english-explanation-of-the-dai-stablecoin-e4481d79b90) TL;DR there is a pretty solid idea of how to stabilize a cryptocurrency. Since this currency is still gaining momentum, there are questions popping up about how to got. I will write a step-by-step guide on how I do it. Step 1: I personally usually start with [Switchain] (https://www.switchain.com) so in this case I will be exchanging 0.5 ETH for DAI. Here's where it starts. Step 2: Since the service compares a few exchanges, I click Exchange on the most favorable rate. Step 3: You are then prompted to input a DAI wallet address and ETH wallet address (in case the transaction fails and ETH needs to be refunded). Personally, I use [Coinfy] (https://coinfy.com), but you're welcome to use any other ERC20 wallet. Step 4: After you send the correct amount of ETH (the one you defined in Step 1) to the displayed address (see image below for reference), your DAI will shortly be deposited to your wallet. That's it! After a few minutes you'll see the confirmation screen and your DAI will be in your wallet. It's pretty straight forward. Good luck trading and hopefully you'll explore these new tokens that help defy one of crypto's worst traits - volatility. |

Basically, 1DAI = $1 so it’s a great asset if you want to protect yourself from price fluctuations. If you are curious about how it works, have a look at [this article]. (https://medium.com/cryptolinks/maker-for-dummies-a-plain-english-explanation-of-the-dai-stablecoin-e4481d79b90) TL;DR there is a pretty solid idea of how to stabilize a cryptocurrency.\n\nSince this currency is still gaining momentum, there are questions popping up about how to got. I will write a step-by-step guide on how I do it.\n\nStep 1:\n\nI personally usually start with [Switchain] (https://www.switchain.com) so in this case I will be exchanging 0.5 ETH for DAI. Here's where it starts.\n\n \n\nStep 2:\n\nSince the service compares a few exchanges, I click Exchange on the most favorable rate. \n\n\n\nStep 3:\n\nYou are then prompted to input a DAI wallet address and ETH wallet address (in case the transaction fails and ETH needs to be refunded). Personally, I use [Coinfy] (https://coinfy.com), but you're welcome to use any other ERC20 wallet. \n\n\n\nStep 4:\n\nAfter you send the correct amount of ETH (the one you defined in Step 1) to the displayed address (see image below for reference), your DAI will shortly be deposited to your wallet.\n\n\n\nThat's it! After a few minutes you'll see the confirmation screen and your DAI will be in your wallet. It's pretty straight forward. \n\n\n\nGood luck trading and hopefully you'll explore these new tokens that help defy one of crypto's worst traits - volatility.",
