      "body": "There's something exciting about writing a blog on a platform that automates all of the revenue issues for you. Steemit has changed blogging forever, and there are certainly more blockchain blogging platforms to come. Can we start calling those BLOGchain startups? I feel like that should be a thing. If you're reading this, help me make it a thing! Start using it as a category for anything that is blog related. I will do the same.\n \n<h2>Anyway...</h2>\nBack to your regularly scheduled programming.\n \n \n \nAs I said in my first post, I'm ditching normal society, and moving into a life of freedom...online. This means that I have to find ways to make a living on the internet, that don't require me to be in one place all the time. For years I've discussed building online businesses, and told people they should do it...all the while not actually making any progress myself. For the first time ever, I've dug in my heels, and am moving toward my goal.\n \nFor better...or worse...I will be living off of my online income by January 1st, 2018. This leaves right around 6 months to make things happen.\n \n<h2>How am I Going to do it?</h2>\n \nIn all areas of life, I try to mix different ideas together as much as possible. When it comes to online income, this means taking new school ideas of doing business exclusively online, and finding ways to blend that with real life interactions, and applications.\n \nThis way of thinking led me to build my first business website in 2016. It's called jobsNWA, and it is a simple job board for he area in which I live. NWA stands for Northwest Arkansas, and what a hidden gem of a place it is! Until recently, nobody even knew we existed. Now, more than 30 people move here EVERY SINGLE DAY. The economy is booming, and filling newly created jobs is a constant need. At that number, I would be able to live comfortably off the profits, as well as employ one other person to take over the day-to-day work. It's not that I dislike working hard, it's just that I want the stuff I am giving my time to..to matter. Freedom from menial tasks the goal. Freedom of movement, and time.       "body": "Hello Steemit! \n\nMy name is John, and this introductory post is meant to give you a little background on me, as well as how I came to be on Steemit. It may have taken me a long time to get on board, but I have finally come to understand just what the blockchain revolution means for the world. \n\nI first heard about blockchain technology in 2014. Bitcoin had made its splash in the news, and people were ranting and raving about this new technology poised to change the world. I didn't understand the implications of it at the time, but my curiosity was piqued. There was a tangible edginess to the community surrounding Bitcoin that was exciting. So many people genuinely believed that it was the next technological revolution that would change everything. Unfortunately, I wasn't interested enough to actually do my research and understand the thing. Instead, I happily went on my way, not knowing that  was allowing the investment opportunity of a lifetime to pass me by. \n\nFast forward to 2017, and my how I have changed my tune. I recently convinced my father to purchase 1 Bitcoin valued at approximately $2,700. Had I done the same for him in 2014, he would have roughly 10x'd his investment. Seeing that really woke me up. I don't want to be looking back in 2020 wishing that I had jumped on the bandwagon 2017. I'm jumping on the bandwagon. And Steemit is a big part of that journey. \n\n<h3> So Who Am I? </h3>\n\nMy parents are missionaries, a necessary piece of information to understand my perspective on the world. Growing up in an American home in a foreign land leaves you constantly learning to bounce between cultures, and languages. I don't think there's anything that could be better for the development of a child. It teaches you how to communicate well at an early age. The emphasis on communication skills in \"international\" communities astounds me to this day. \n\nGrowing up in this environment, normal becomes a very broad term. Whereas people who live in one place all their lives have a very narrow definition of what is normal from day to day, a missionary kids life lends itself to...diversity. Our house was a hub for all sorts of things. It was rare to not have guests, and oftentimes those guests would stay for extended periods of time.\n\nIt's hard to imagine a greater childhood. \n\nI lived in the states for many of my teen years, and continued to bounce back and forth between Panama and Arkansas until I was 21. At that point I had broken off a 5 year relationship, and was looking for what to do next. So I moved back to Panama,  and met some of the greatest people I've ever known. We spent two years hanging out, and sharing our lives. They changed me more in that short period of time than anyone else has in my 25 years on this planet. They made me a better person, and I'll always be thankful for their influence. \n\n<h3>Snap Back to Reality</h3> \n\nSo that gets us to the present day. What's my plan going forward, you might ask? \n\nI am currently living in Arkansas. I have a boring day job, and dreams about the life that I want to be living. And for the first time, possibly ever, I have an actual plan for how to escape and live those dreams. \n\nThe plan includes a site I am building here in Northwest Arkansas called jobsNWA (http://www.jobsnwa.com). It's just a job board for my local area meant to replace Craigslist jobs. \n\nThat site is step one. I will be documenting my dive into this new life here on Steemit, and on all my social media channels. I want to benefit by riding the wave of the blockchain revolution, and switching my source of income to being exclusively online. \n\nI guess we'll see what happens! \n\nThanks for taking the time to read this post, and I hope you'll subscribe to follow along on my journey!",

      "body": "At the beginning of any journey, be it physical or philosophical, it is appropriate to commemorate the moment with reflection, and celebration.\n\nThis will be more reflection than celebration. But rest assured, the celebration is coming!\n\nMy situation is as follows: I am unhappy with my life the way it currently sits. For the first time, I am concerned that if I don’t do something BIG soon, I will be a loser…forever.\n\nHave you ever sat down, reflected on your life, and worried that you’ll never be the things that you wish to be? That happened to me the other day. I was sitting in my bed reading, when it struck me that I am 25. I’m 25. I’m most likely a third OR MORE of the way through my life. I probably have LESS THAN 50 years left on this planet. Judging by how quickly the first 25 went by, I need to get a move on if I want my life to matter at all.\n\nI was suddenly terrified that I would be one of those people always talking about what they would do \"someday\".\n\nMaybe that sounds like an overreaction, but it’s the truth. Most people I’ve met have a lackadaisical approach to life. Everyone, and I’m including myself here, talks about the things they “want to do someday”. The sad truth is that someday never comes. We never wake up having suddenly completed all of the menial tasks necessary to become the version of ourselves that we see in the future. It never happens on its own. We must create the lives we want.\n\nFor years now, I have watched YouTube videos by a guy named Casey Neistat. He started making a video about his life EVERY SINGLE DAY, and I watched EVERY SINGLE ONE. Thinking back on the amount of time I spent watching this other person’s life makes me wonder what I am doing with my own. But that’s not the point right now. The point is that he made this poster on day. On the left side of the poster it said the word “YOU”. On the right side of the poster it said “WHATEVER YOU WANT”. In the middle of the poster was a dotted line with the word “WORK” written on top of it.\n\nIt is the simplest idea, and yet profound in its implications.\n\nOur ability to reach a desired outcome is determined, almost exclusively, by our willingness to do the work. God-given ability, and inborn talent have little to do with it. The only thing you can control is your work ethic. You can decide to put in the hours. Everything else is outside your control, and worrying about it is absolutely pointless.\n\nWhy bring that up?\n\nBecause I’ve not done what I just described. I’ve talked about. I’ve thought about it. I’ve written about it AD NAUSEUM. But I will be the first to admit that I have not actually DONE it.\n\nI have been waiting around. For what, you ask? I have no idea. I genuinely do not understand my own lazy approach to “creating” the life I want. I’ve just been sitting around thinking about how to go out and live my life, trying to find the secret sauce. Waiting for God to drop a note from heaven that has the EXACT course of my life written on it. Waiting. Sitting. Listening. DOING NOTHING.\n\n But that ends now. The buck stops here. \n\nMy website, intercontimental.com is going to be ground zero for exploring perspectives outside of the norm.
