They keep our phones vibrating to lure us back into apps we don't really need to be in.\n\nVisit Settings > Notifications and turn off all notifications, banners, and badges, except from apps where real people want your attention; for me it's message, calls, messenger, whatsapp.\n\n## Delete social media apps ##\n\nThis one is tough, but effective! If you really want to use your phone less, remove all the major social media apps from your phone. It’s the easiest way to cut back, as these apps can easily gobble up so much of our time. Train yourself to use them from your computer only, or go one step further and delete your accounts. I've done it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.\n\nBy the way, try deleting your news apps. Certains peuvent le penser, mais je ressens une étrange satisfaction, un accomplissement, à regarder autour de moi et à voir une maison sans aucun désordre.\n\nCela calme, et  me libère, et c’est simplement agréable.\n\n![minimalist_kitchen-maisonminimaliste_1024x1024.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmW48V3kVAsbzm71t4aGS4FMTWhZj3PKHCFDegeyR4evyF/minimalist_kitchen-maisonminimaliste_1024x1024.jpg)\n\n\n## Bénéfices d’une maison minimaliste\n\n\nJe pourrai probablement partir longtemps sur ce sujet, mais laissez-moi juste lister quelques bénéfices clés :\n\n1.Moins stressant. Le désordre est une forme de distraction visuelle, et tout ce qui est dans notre champ de vision attire notre attention au moins un petit peu. Le moins désordonné il est, le moins de stress visuel nous avons. Une maison minimaliste est relaxante.\n\n2.Plus séduisant. Pensez aux photos des maisons qui sont encombrées, et aux photos de maisons minimalistes. Celles avec presque rien à l’intérieur excepté quelques beaux meubles, quelques belles oeuvres d’art, et quelques rares belles décorations, sont celles qui nous séduisent le plus. Vous pouvez rendre votre maison plus séduisante en la faisant plus minimaliste.\n\n3.Plus facile à nettoyer.  Il est difficile de nettoyer un vrai paquet d’objets, ou de balayer ou de passer l’aspirateur autour d’une grappe de meubles. Plus vous avez de choses, plus vous devez les nettoyer, et plus il est compliqué de nettoyer autour de ces choses. Imaginez à quel point il est plus facile de nettoyer une pièce vide comparé à une autre avec 50 objets dedans. C’est un exemple extrême, bien sûr, parce que je ne recommanderai que vous ayez une pièce vide, mais c’est juste pour illustrer la différence.\n\n## A quoi ressemble une maison Minimaliste ?\n\nCela peut varier, bien sûr, en fonction de vos goûts et à quel point vous voulez être minimaliste. Je suis un minimaliste, mais absolument pas au point d’en être extrémiste. Mais voici quelques caractéristiques d’une maison minimale :\n\n• Mobilier minimal. Une pièce minimaliste ne contiendrait que quelques pièces essentielles de mobilier. Un salon, par exemple, pourrait n’avoir qu’un canapé, une chaise ou une causeuse, une table basse, un meuble de télévision minimaliste (pas un énorme avec un tas d’étagères), une télévision, et une paire de lampes. Il pourrait même en contenir moins (canapé, chaises, et table basse par exemple). Une chambre pourrait avoir un simple lit (ou même un simple matelas), une commode, et peut-être une table de nuit ou un rayonnage de livres.\n\n• Des surfaces claires. Dans une maison minimaliste, les surfaces planes sont vides, à l’exception d’une ou deux décorations (voir le point suivant). Il n’a pas un grand tas de babioles, et sûrement pas des piles de livres ou de papiers ou d’autres choses.\n\n• Des décorations percutantes. Une maison complètement dépouillée pourrait être un peu ennuyeuse, tout de même. Donc au lieu d’avoir une table basse complètement vide de tout objet, vous pourriez y placer un vase simple avec quelques fleurs, par exemple. Ou un bureau vide pourrait avoir juste une photo de famille. Un mur qui serait autrement vide peut recevoir une oeuvre d’art de bon ton (j’utilise les oeuvres de mon père, car c’est un grand artiste).\n\n• La qualité prime sur la quantité. Au lieu d’avoir beaucoup de choses dans votre maison, un minimaliste choisirait juste quelques choses vraiment excellentes qu’il aime et utilise souvent. Une table très belle, par exemple, est mieux que 5 pièces de mobilier en bois aggloméré.\n\n## Comment créer une Maison Minimaliste ?\n\n\nIl n’y a actuellement pas d’étapes définies pour transformer votre maison en maison minimaliste, à part de changer votre philosophie et de trouver ce qui vous correspond dans la section précédente. Mais voici quelques astuces que j’aimerai offrir à quiconque s’essaie au minimalisme :\n\n1.Une pièce à la fois. À moins que vous ne soyez en train de déménager dans un nouvel endroit, il est difficile de simplifier une maison entière en une fois. Focalisez-vous sur une pièce, et faites-en le centre de votre calme. Utilisez-la pour vous inspirer pour simplifier la prochaine pièce, et la suivante. Ensuite, faites pareil à l’extérieur !\n\n2.Commencez par le mobilier. Les plus grandes choses dans chaque pièce sont les meubles, donc vous devriez toujours commencer la simplification d’une pièce en examinant les meubles. Le moins il y a de pièces de mobilier, le mieux c’est (avec des raisons valables bien sûr). Pensez à quels meubles peuvent être éliminés sans sacrifier au confort et à l’habitabilité. Partez sur quelques meubles simples et purs (exemple d’une table basse minimaliste) avec des couleurs unies et discrètes.\n\n3.Seulement l’essentiel. Que ce soit en regardant votre mobilier ou quoi que ce soit d’autre dans la pièce, demandez-vous si cet élément est vraiment essentiel. Si vous pouvez vivre sans lui, jetez-le. Essayez de réduire les pièces à l’essentiel – vous pourrez toujours ajouter quelques objets choisis au-delà de l’essentiel plus tard.\n\n4.Nettoyez les sols. À part pour le mobilier, vos sols devraient être complètement dépouillés. Rien ne doit encombrer vos sols, rien ne doit y être empilé, rien ne doit être entreposé sur le sol. Une fois que vous aurez réduit votre mobilier au strict minimum, nettoyez tout le reste sur vos sols – donnez-le, jetez-le, ou trouvez une place pour lui hors de portée du regard.\n\n5.Nettoyez les surfaces. C’est pareil avec les surfaces planes. Ne laissez rien sur elles, excepté une ou deux décorations simples (voir l’astuce 9 plus bas). Donnez, jetez, ou trouvez une place  hors de portée du regard pour tout le reste. Cela donnera à tout un aspect bien, bien plus minimaliste.\n\n6.Nettoyez les murs. Quelques personnes accrochent toute sorte de choses sur leurs murs. Ce que l’on ne peut faire dans une maison minimaliste. Nettoyez vos murs excepté une ou deux belles et simples oeuvres d’art (voir l’astuce 8 ci-dessous).\n\n7.Rangez les choses à l’abri du regard. Cela a été mentionné dans les astuces précédentes, mais vous devriez ranger toutes les choses dont vous avez besoin en dehors de votre vue, dans des commodes ou des armoires. Les bibliothèques peuvent être utilisées pour ranger des livres ou des DVDs ou des CDs, mais ne devraient rien avoir de plus excepté quelques décorations simples (pas une collection complète de choses).\n\n8.Rangez le bazar. Si vous nettoyez les surfaces planes et le sol, et que vous rangez des objets dans des commodes et des armoires, vous voudrez probablement ranger vos endroits de rangement aussi. Vous pourrez faire cela dans une étape ultérieure si vous le voulez.\n\n9.Des oeuvres d’art simples. Pour empêcher votre pièce d’être ennuyeuse, vous pouvez y placer une peinture simple, un dessin ou une photo, encadré une couleur discrète, sur chaque mur si vous le voulez. Laissez quelques murs nus si possible.\n\n10.Des décorations simples. Comme il est mentionné dans les astuces précédentes, une ou deux décorations simples peuvent servir à accentuer une pièce minimaliste. Des fleurs dans un vase ou une petite plante dans un pot sont deux exemples classiques. Si le reste de votre pièce a des couleurs discrètes, vos accentuations peuvent utiliser des couleurs vives (comme le rouge, ou le jaune) pour attirer l’oeil et éclabousser  la pièce entière d’énergie.\n\n11.Purifier les fenêtres. Les fenêtres nues, ou avec des rideaux simplement colorés ou de simples persiennes en bois sont bien. Trop de choses ornementales autour des fenêtres sont du désordre.\n\n12.Des motifs épurés. Des couleurs unies sont meilleures pour les revêtements de sol (si vous en avez), les meubles, etc. Les motifs complexes, comme des fleurs ou des damiers, sont un désordre visuel.\n\n13.Des couleurs discrètes. Comme mentionné dans l’astuce 9, vous pouvez avoir quelques touches de couleurs éclatantes dans votre pièce, mais la majeure partie de votre pièce doit être composée de couleurs plus discrètes – le blanc est classiquement minimaliste, mais n’importe quelle couleur unie qui ne stresse pas les yeux est bonne (les couleurs de la terre viennent à l’esprit, comme les bleus, les marrons, les couleurs tannées, les verts).\n\n14.Éditez et éliminez. Quand vous aurez simplifié une pièce, vous pourrez probablement en faire plus. Oubliez-la quelques jours, et ensuite regardez tout avec des yeux plus frais. Qu’est-ce qui peut être éliminé ? Rangé à l’abri du regard ? Qu’est-ce qui n’est pas essentiel ? Vous pouvez revenir sur chaque pièce tous les quelques mois, et parfois vous découvrirez des moyens de simplifier encore plus.\n\n15.De la place pour tout. J’ai discuté de cela dans d’autres articles, mais dans une maison minimaliste, il est important que vous trouviez une place pour tout, et de vous souvenir à quelles places elles sont. Où votre mixeur se range-t-il ? Donnez-lui un endroit précis, et tenez-vous-y. Recherchez des endroits logiques qui sont près de l’endroit où la chose est utilisée, pour les rendre plus efficaces, mais le point clé est de définir un endroit.\n\n16.Asseyez-vous, relaxez-vous et profitez. À présent que vous avez simplifié votre pièce, prenez un moment pour y jeter un oeil et en profiter. C’est si apaisant et satisfaisant. C’est la récompense pour votre dur travail. Ahhhh. Parfait !",

An end-to-end encrypted file sync and sharing service.</p>\n<p>I tried SpiderOak but find a bit hard to implement and not really user-friendly.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Tresorit has great applications and is really simple to implement and use.</p>\n<p>I don't miss Dropbox at all with Tresorit:&nbsp;</p>\n<blockquote>Upload your files to tresors, your unbreakable folders in the cloud. Unlike Dropbox, you don't need to change the folder structure you already have on your computer.&nbsp;</blockquote>\n<blockquote>&nbsp;Replace risky email attachments with encrypted links.       "body": "![Notifications.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPJKZE8nEf12UAF4Gm7Kb6kA2u6MayVjH9Cae2SBeqKrE/Notifications.jpg)\n\nLast year, I did some changes on my phone to be less distracted.\nHere some tips I learned during that journey :\n\n1. removing facebook app was one of the greatest thing I could have done.\n1. put safari in private mode, this way, each time you go on social media you need to enter your login/password (providing one more step to step back and do something else)\n2. only put on home screen no-infinite scroll apps and useful one for daily activities ( bye bye all social media apps, email). All others apps are now inside one folder on 2nd screen.\n3.always search your apps by typing the name inside the search bar, this way it also add a step where you ask yourself “is this really what I want to do right now”\n4. Install app like moment to see how much time you are using your phone and on which apps (this one is quite scary at first, you never imagine how much time you really are on you phone everyday)\n5. Turn notifications on only for “people” apps such as messages, calls, messenger. that’s it. no more notifications about emails, social media, sports, news. You should be in charge to see that kind of information when you want to see it, not when they want you to see it.\n\nAfter doing these steps, it was a bit difficult at first because of the envy to check social media and the FOMO.\nBut then it stops, and the limitation of notifications is also a great idea. \nNow I decide when to be notify about something, not my phone.\n\nAnd you, do you have some tips or hacks to get less distracted?",
