Why isn’t data security prioritized?</strong> </p> <p>Security and Integrity pose as essential aspects within any organization, they hold as a backbone. Everything from client information, transactions, employee info, financial data, personal files, payment information, all these pose a huge disaster if not securely protected. Any mishap could result in greater consequences. </p> <p><strong>Let’s do baby steps</strong> </p> <p>If you, who’s reading the blog is anything like me. You’re an employee within a medium sized company- who’s working as a full-time employee. You’ll have processes and systems to follow and monitor, hierarchy to oblige to and work 40 hours a week and do an incredible job to get noticed or grow within the organization. Well, all that is good and fine. </p> <p>Can you imagine yourself working within a small team of 5 to 7? Here, you’ve got to collaborate, delegate, use words like teamwork, sharing, building, innovation, ideas, etc. I usually work on resources for the sales and marketing purpose. Building content, writing proposals, RFPs, web content, social media, blogs, writing emails to the customer, negotiations, calls, newsletters, e-mail campaigns, I hope you know the drill. </p> <p><strong>Here’s the problem area</strong></p> <p><em><strong>Scenario 1</strong></em> </p> <p>Unlike the others in the organization, my work revolves around my team. I’ve to collaborate. I write my content or emails, or make changes in the proposals with the instant suggestions and notifications I keep getting from my teammates. </p> <p>That’s right. It is hectic to keep a track of all that information and stay updated all the time. For instance, it serves as a disaster for me to miss out on the updated price card, while sending the proposal drafts to the customers. It will be correct in a perfect world, if my colleague sends me an email about it, we usually ping each other and get the information. </p> <p>Also, why to wait for an email of the update after the email is sent, when you can get notified instantly and stay above things, right? </p> <p>In this case, where should I save this information. How should I not miss out on adding it in my content? </p> <p><em><strong>Scenario 2</strong></em> </p> <p>There are other instances, which are quite frustrating for me. We’ve team huddles every day, every week, every month, every quarter. Ideas and topics are discussed along with the reports and work we do. Hey, I’m not the boss of me or, the others. I can’t be reluctant. </p> <p>Like anybody else within the corporate world, I’ve to suck it up. I often chat with my colleagues and team mates and discuss stuff, which is very good for my work and that talking often leads to good ideas. These ideas float around during team calls or meetings from someone else, I can’t be the whiner in the meeting claiming the ideas are mine, or the thought was initiated by me. </p> <p>It passes on and the other person who is the big stealer, gets to even steal the show. That’s unfair. Again, very prevalent in every organization. It is essential to be concerned and stay speculative about your online security, stay on top of things and protect your digital space and assets. Data breech is still not a thing in the past. It is often prevalent and quite destructive. </p>\n<p><strong>Crisis are escalating when it comes to cyber-attacks, data breeches, hacking incidents, scammers, etc. To offer a strong network security, it seems unattainable. </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Why do companies wait for a security mishap? Why isn’t data security prioritized?</strong> </p>\n<p>Security and Integrity pose as essential aspects within any organization, they hold as a backbone. Everything from client information, transactions, employee info, financial data, personal files, payment information, all these pose a huge disaster if not securely protected. Any mishap could result in greater consequences. </p>\n<p><strong>Let’s do baby steps</strong> </p>\n<p>If you, who’s reading the blog is anything like me. You’re an employee within a medium sized company- who’s working as a full-time employee. You’ll have processes and systems to follow and monitor, hierarchy to oblige to and work 40 hours a week and do an incredible job to get noticed or grow within the organization. Well, all that is good and fine. </p>\n<p>Can you imagine yourself working within a small team of 5 to 7? Here, you’ve got to collaborate, delegate, use words like teamwork, sharing, building, innovation, ideas, etc. I usually work on resources for the sales and marketing purpose. Building content, writing proposals, RFPs, web content, social media, blogs, writing emails to the customer, negotiations, calls, newsletters, e-mail campaigns, I hope you know the drill. </p>\n<p><strong>Here’s the problem area</strong></p>\n<p><em><strong>Scenario 1</strong></em> </p>\n<p>Unlike the others in the organization, my work revolves around my team. I’ve to collaborate. I write my content or emails, or make changes in the proposals with the instant suggestions and notifications I keep getting from my teammates. </p>\n<p>That’s right. It is hectic to keep a track of all that information and stay updated all the time. For instance, it serves as a disaster for me to miss out on the updated price card, while sending the proposal drafts to the customers. It will be correct in a perfect world, if my colleague sends me an email about it, we usually ping each other and get the information. </p>\n<p>Also, why to wait for an email of the update after the email is sent, when you can get notified instantly and stay above things, right? </p>\n<p>In this case, where should I save this information. How should I not miss out on adding it in my content? </p>\n<p><em><strong>Scenario 2</strong></em> </p>\n<p>There are other instances, which are quite frustrating for me. We’ve team huddles every day, every week, every month, every quarter. Ideas and topics are discussed along with the reports and work we do. Hey, I’m not the boss of me or, the others. I can’t be reluctant. </p>\n<p>Like anybody else within the corporate world, I’ve to suck it up. I often chat with my colleagues and team mates and discuss stuff, which is very good for my work and that talking often leads to good ideas. These ideas float around during team calls or meetings from someone else, I can’t be the whiner in the meeting claiming the ideas are mine, or the thought was initiated by me. </p>\n<p>It passes on and the other person who is the big stealer, gets to even steal the show. Log your individual billable hours. It seems like such an easy and small thing to do. </p> <p>Make a note of what you’re working on at the end of the day and save it. Like I said, he is troublesome. Perhaps, just lazy like everyone else is. <strong>After a day’s work you get reluctant to type and save about what you’ve worked on. </strong></p> <p>What does he do? Procrastination. I’ve until Friday to fill my time sheet, why bother on a Monday, its already a busy day. </p> <p>That said, we have a gruesome time every Friday evening. While I like to start the weekend with some personal time. I’ve him sulking or pacing to remember, what is it that he was working on, on Wednesday afternoon. </p> <p>It would really be easy to note it down, follow emails and recollect. <strong>Still, it’s a time taking task and honestly quite irritating for me. </strong></p> <p>Sometimes, I’ve him remove pieces of paper to see what he had pen down, to try and recollect that day’s work. He often, browses through his emails to remember what was the project, what was the activity, what was the troubleshoot. Or, <strong>find conversations on chat to articulate, from the bits and pieces of information he can find.</strong> </p> <p><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BkX1lHeCcAAKUYb.png" width="600" height="700"/></p> <p>At the end of it, I think it goes for a very inefficient mentioning of the work in the time sheet. Also, it is a waste of a perfect Friday evening. To top of it, <strong>there is so much effort put in for something that is just a task management structure within the organization. </strong></p> <p><strong>Well, this part excites me! MAINFRAME</strong> </p> <p>Mainframe, before I learnt or read more on it. I came across Onyx and its features. It is something like slack, but not sloppy. It has many user-friendly features, it stands apart, it is powered by a fully decentralized, censorship-resistant, and surveillance-resistant Mainframe network </p> <p>Let’s talk about why Mainframe? It is perhaps like any other workplace app, only better. It accomplishes a lot of the things that we’d like to have within our workspace, to simply streamline and help us be more efficient and productive. </p> <p>Unlike my boyfriend, I work within a creative space and I have lesser restrictions or processes to abide by within a structured organization. However, I saw these features and I couldn’t help but talk about it to him. </p> <p><strong>To address the big-time sheet debacle</strong>, here’s what can totally save time. Also, be accurate. Mainframe’s to-do lists, it’s a life saver according to me for two reasons. </p> <ul> <li>For my personal reason, firstly it will help to fill out time sheets by just going through the list and possibly copy pasting it. <strong>The “Action” item within the app, that helps you to translate the messages into actionable items and saves it as a to-do list is awesome!</strong> </li> <li>The second reason being, for someone like me, who works within the sales and marketing team and grills on messages all day. More often than not, I always miss out on things within the chats or conversations. I’m not a robot to remember everything. I’d like a reminder or a notification to reach out to, perhaps during final reviews of my work. Like a check list. <strong>The “Action” item for me serves as a check list, a review mechanism, where I can look at it and confirm, if I’ve instilled all the suggestions and instructions given to me in my work. </strong> </li> </ul> <p>Mainframe messaging app for your workplace, is a solace to your anxiety and helps you manage time indefinitely. <strong>It is excellent for you to improve your confidence on your work and not second guess on the things you remember. </strong></p> <p>Things at work should be easy and simple, clearly, your work is never easy. | body | I strongly believe that Life is uncertain, enigmatic and mostly never a perfect one. Along the way, it gets imperative to keep going and embrace every choice in life. Every step you take defines who you’re. Also, redefines you. As a girl, I embody myself as a dancer. I’m trying each day to find my unique moves to get to the rhythm of life gracefully. However, life is such that a fall is bound to happen. As I grow up, I realize that a fall is inevitable. You’ve got to fall and stumble upon horrible ideas, options, thoughts, people, incidents, etc. It is important to embrace your imperfections and mistakes as your own. You’ve got to own them, as they’re a part of your identity. Instead of hiding the missteps or stopping the dance. All you’ve got to do is get up and dance.  If you fall hard, you stay down longer. It gets harder to regain self-esteem and walk tall. But in life you’ve just got to get up, own it and keep dancing. It also suggests survival of the fittest. A great dancer never leaves the show incomplete. In life, you can’t stop at any point. You can catch a break, but you’ve got to move on and go ahead. |
