titleCore Strength Exercises for Weightlifters
bodyExercises are the best way to increase your metabolism, tone your muscles, and build strength. These exercises can also improve your sleeping pattern, digestion, circulation, and balance your hormones. They will improve your mental health as well as the functioning of your immune system. Below are ten exercises you can do that will make you look better, feel better, and live longer. https://radicalstrength.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/active-activity-effort-2011384.jpg [source](https://radicalstrength.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/active-activity-effort-2011384.jpg) The plank exercise can help strengthen your back and abdominal muscles. You can do this by starting with a chair or table and sitting in a starting position, then resting in a starting position. You can do 12 reps of each of the plank exercises or floor press. You can change the starting position to a computer keyboard if you want. Do this exercise between exercise sets or at least every other day. There are several core strength exercises that will help you build your endurance and agility training. These exercises include push ups and crunches. You should alternate these exercises. Start with push ups and then add crunches later. Do these exercises at least three times per week or as often as you are able to do them. You should focus on complete 3 sets of each of exercises above. To get started, you should place a barbell on the ground under your chest and then perform push ups until the barbell reaches your collarbone. Then, you should hold the barbell in a complete overhead position. Next, you should move your arms from your shoulders to your hands and perform one of the following exercises: lateral pull down, one arm dumbbell curl, one arm triceps extension, one arm flex, and one arm curl. You should do an alternating circular movement with your right and left leg. Start the exercise by standing in front of a chair and holding a dumbbell in each hand. As you are rotating in a circular motion, you should tighten your ab muscles. When you are in the starting position, you should lift the dumbbells to your shoulders while also pushing your knees up to your chest. Then, you should rotate your body as you raise the weights to your chest and contract your ab muscles. After the rotation, you should slowly lower the weights back to the starting position. You can also perform these exercises while lying on a flat surface, on your side, or with your back bent. For the last exercise, you should raise the dumbbells and contract your ab muscles so that you perform a lifting movement similar to a lunge. https://images.huffingtonpost.com/2016-01-19-1453204252-379007-Ifitdoesntburnyourenotdoingitright000062700166_Medium.jpg [source](https://images.huffingtonpost.com/2016-01-19-1453204252-379007-Ifitdoesntburnyourenotdoingitright000062700166_Medium.jpg) All of these exercises are designed to increase your overall body strength. However, it is important that you keep in mind that this increase in your core strength is going to take some time. Therefore, if you are not patient, you should not expect great results from your exercise classes. You should know that this is an ongoing process and that you will be consistently working to improve your core strength. Physical activity provides many benefits including improving health, improving your mental state, and burning calories. These exercises are very beneficial to the body. In fact, it is one of the best ways to improve your overall physical health. Aerobic exercise is very helpful in improving your immune system, thus decreasing the chances of getting sick. It can also help you lose weight and get rid of excess fat that you have gained throughout the years. Many people may think that doing exercises such as jogging, walking, or biking are considered aerobic activities. While these exercises can be very beneficial, they are not considered anaerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercises are ones that work on increasing your ability to do quick, intense physical movements. As previously mentioned, anaerobic exercise provide a greater amount of calories and can burn more fat than aerobic exercises do. Some examples of anaerobic exercises include sprinting, weightlifting, and rowing. When you participate in these activities, you are increasing your ability to both move quickly and effectively, as well as to lift weights and exert yourself physically. For anyone who wants to achieve core strength, they should consider completing three sets of twenty-five reps. For the next set, you should do another twenty-five reps. For the last set, you should complete three sets of fifteen reps. These are all good exercises for increasing your core strength and developing the strong core muscles that are necessary for performing a number of other activities. You should always start with the dumbbells held in either the neutral or starting position. Let your arms hang by your sides. With each movement, use your legs to lift the dumbbells until your arms are fully extended. This will ensure that you are working all the muscles in your body with each movement. As you become used to holding the dumbbells in the starting position, you will be able to add your hands a bit further forward. Always work the muscles that you want to develop in the order they are listed above.

These exercises can also improve your sleeping pattern, digestion, circulation, and balance your hormones. They will improve your mental health as well as the functioning of your immune system. Below are ten exercises you can do that will make you look better, feel better, and live longer.\n\nhttps://radicalstrength.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/active-activity-effort-2011384.jpg\n[source](https://radicalstrength.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/active-activity-effort-2011384.jpg)\n\nThe plank exercise can help strengthen your back and abdominal muscles. You can do this by starting with a chair or table and sitting in a starting position, then resting in a starting position. You can do 12 reps of each of the plank exercises or floor press. You can change the starting position to a computer keyboard if you want. Do this exercise between exercise sets or at least every other day.\n\nThere are several core strength exercises that will help you build your endurance and agility training. These exercises include push ups and crunches. You should alternate these exercises. Start with push ups and then add crunches later. Do these exercises at least three times per week or as often as you are able to do them.\n\nYou should focus on complete 3 sets of each of exercises above. To get started, you should place a barbell on the ground under your chest and then perform push ups until the barbell reaches your collarbone. Then, you should hold the barbell in a complete overhead position. Next, you should move your arms from your shoulders to your hands and perform one of the following exercises: lateral pull down, one arm dumbbell curl, one arm triceps extension, one arm flex, and one arm curl.\n\nYou should do an alternating circular movement with your right and left leg. Start the exercise by standing in front of a chair and holding a dumbbell in each hand. As you are rotating in a circular motion, you should tighten your ab muscles. When you are in the starting position, you should lift the dumbbells to your shoulders while also pushing your knees up to your chest.\n\nThen, you should rotate your body as you raise the weights to your chest and contract your ab muscles. titleExercises For Developing Strong Abdominals
bodyExercises are a form of activity that we engage in to enhance our lifestyle. Exercise is any physical activity that improves or upholds general health and well being and physical fitness. This activity is also known as recreation or leisure activity. There are different types of exercises like aerobics, cardiovascular exercises, strength training and stretching. We can do exercises for building strong muscles and bones, reducing weight and getting slim. The most common exercise among all these is the bench press where we have to raise the dumbbell over our heads with bent arms and gradually press the dumbbell up to our chest level. The dumbbell exercises help us in building our muscular mass and obtaining good muscular definition. This can be done by inclining our knees and gradually raising the dumbbell over our head. We can also perform chin ups and forearms presses where we have to raise our upper arms over our heads. https://static.onecms.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/35/2018/04/03195054/reasons-to-build-strong-core-abs-muscles.jpg [source](https://static.onecms.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/35/2018/04/03195054/reasons-to-build-strong-core-abs-muscles.jpg) Another popular exercise is the deadlift which is also known as the full body exercise where we have to bring the weight directly on the floor and then lower it slowly while engaging our core muscles. The main advantage of doing this exercise is that it develops our core muscles and strengthens our back and abdominal organs. Another good option is doing the inclined dumbbell fly where we have to lie face down on a dumbbell and lift the dumbbells over our head. This is an advanced level of exercise that can be very challenging but can give us good results. Experts say that aerobic exercises are the best option for burning calories and keeping fit and muscular. These exercises help us in achieving a fit and muscular body. They are designed to improve cardiovascular health, increase lung and heart strength, burn calories and reduce fat in our body. The most common exercises performed by the fitness enthusiasts are running, cycling, swimming, rowing, mountain climbing and aerobic dancing. Those who want to lose weight need to perform weight loss exercises that train specific muscle groups in order to burn calories more effectively. The common exercises that are used in such programs are running, walking, cycling, swimming and rowing. Those who want to build muscle mass should perform weight lifting exercises that target major muscle groups. There are different types of weight lifting exercises that are used by experts to strengthen and build the muscles of individuals. For example, if we want to develop our leg strength so that we can run faster, we can use squats and leg presses. However, the experts says that it is not necessary for us to perform exercises such as dead lifts, sit-ups and rowing in order to develop strong muscles. Instead of doing these exercises, we can engage in sports such as swimming, cycling, running, aerobics and playing sports that involve throwing and catching. All these activities help in burning calories and building muscle strength. As for those who want to reduce their fat percentage or even get rid of extra fat in their bodies, they can perform exercises such as running, walking, cycling and swimming. These activities help us burn calories fast and do away with unnecessary fats. So according to the experts, the most effective way of developing strong abdominals is through performing exercises that strengthen core muscles of the lower and middle back. This includes crunches and lunges. Furthermore, a well rounded program of exercises that train the entire abdominals should also be conducted. If we want to achieve stronger knees, we can combine abdominal exercises with knee training in the same program. Now according to the experts, the best type of workout to develop strong shoulders is through shoulder weight training. We can perform shoulder weight training by starting from our shoulders and moving our arms in a slow but steady motion. At the same time, we can also start from our hips and move our legs in a circular motion. This is a complete 3 sets exercise that will develop our shoulders. In addition, it will help us develop strong upper arms, narrow chest and narrow ribcage.

"title": "Exercises For Developing Strong Abdominals",
"body": "Exercises are a form of activity that we engage in to enhance our lifestyle. Exercise is any physical activity that improves or upholds general health and well being and physical fitness. This activity is also known as recreation or leisure activity. There are different types of exercises like aerobics, cardiovascular exercises, strength training and stretching.\n\nWe can do exercises for building strong muscles and bones, reducing weight and getting slim. We can also perform chin ups and forearms presses where we have to raise our upper arms over our heads.\n\nhttps://static.onecms.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/35/2018/04/03195054/reasons-to-build-strong-core-abs-muscles.jpg\n[source](https://static.onecms.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/35/2018/04/03195054/reasons-to-build-strong-core-abs-muscles.jpg)\n\nAnother popular exercise is the deadlift which is also known as the full body exercise where we have to bring the weight directly on the floor and then lower it slowly while engaging our core muscles. The main advantage of doing this exercise is that it develops our core muscles and strengthens our back and abdominal organs. Another good option is doing the inclined dumbbell fly where we have to lie face down on a dumbbell and lift the dumbbells over our head. This is an advanced level of exercise that can be very challenging but can give us good results.\n\nExperts say that aerobic exercises are the best option for burning calories and keeping fit and muscular. These exercises help us in achieving a fit and muscular body. They are designed to improve cardiovascular health, increase lung and heart strength, burn calories and reduce fat in our body. The most common exercises performed by the fitness enthusiasts are running, cycling, swimming, rowing, mountain climbing and aerobic dancing.\n\nThose who want to lose weight need to perform weight loss exercises that train specific muscle groups in order to burn calories more effectively. The common exercises that are used in such programs are running, walking, cycling, swimming and rowing. Those who want to build muscle mass should perform weight lifting exercises that target major muscle groups. There are different types of weight lifting exercises that are used by experts to strengthen and build the muscles of individuals. For example, if we want to develop our leg strength so that we can run faster, we can use squats and leg presses.\n\nHowever, the experts says that it is not necessary for us to perform exercises such as dead lifts, sit-ups and rowing in order to develop strong muscles. These activities help us burn calories fast and do away with unnecessary fats.\n\nSo according to the experts, the most effective way of developing strong abdominals is through performing exercises that strengthen core muscles of the lower and middle back. This includes crunches and lunges. Furthermore, a well rounded program of exercises that train the entire abdominals should also be conducted. If we want to achieve stronger knees, we can combine abdominal exercises with knee training in the same program.\n\nNow according to the experts, the best type of workout to develop strong shoulders is through shoulder weight training. We can perform shoulder weight training by starting from our shoulders and moving our arms in a slow but steady motion. At the same time, we can also start from our hips and move our legs in a circular motion. This is a complete 3 sets exercise that will develop our shoulders. In addition, it will help us develop strong upper arms, narrow chest and narrow ribcage.",

titleZuccini Noodles with Watercress Pesto
bodyWhen it comes to pasta, sometimes I’m in the mood for red sauce and other times I’m in the mood for green sauce, i.e. pesto. The other night I was in a green sauce mood, and as I’m known to do, tried to think of a twist on the classic ingredients: olive oil, basil, pine nuts, garlic and parmesan cheese. I decided on what I believe is an under-appreciated green: watercress. Watercress is very pepper-y, even more so than arugula. To keep it from being too strong and overpowering, I included some basil. I also substituted almonds for pine nuts, to keep with the “twist on a classic” theme and because they’re less expensive and easier to find. The best way to make pesto is with a food processor, especially a mini one (my favorite kitchen tool!), but a blender will do if it’s all you have. I put this pesto over zucchini noodles, aka “zoodles”, to spare some calories. You’ll need a spiralizer to make them, a tool which has become mighty popular lately. There are huge fancy ones out there, but the small Veggetti works just fine for me. I’m not going to say zoodles taste just like pasta and you won’t know the difference, because that would be a lie, but they are delicious. I prefer blanching them for a couple of minutes in boiling water, but they can also be eaten raw. ![zoodles1.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZkfpK9v4NAvvh1pMZdDPCoBCg3v5Atqji4sGBaGFyfr8/zoodles1.jpg) Pesto is also great on sandwiches, pizza or as a dip. This recipe makes one serving of zoodles and will leave you with plenty of leftover pesto, which freezes beautifully. And if you omit the parmesan cheese, it’s 100% vegan! Zuccini Noodles with Watercress Pesto ![zoodles2.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPjsvgTfAshDyo4RpvTsm9NAhBhUAaRaPbr5DScMaUDEp/zoodles2.jpg) ### INGREDIENTS 1 cup watercress leaves 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves 3 garlic cloves 1/4 cup sliced almonds 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil Salt and pepper 1 large zucchini ![zoodles3.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcvP6Cy9yy4VZfsVp4ZV1j2VF7P1CX1DyTym1Xk44tQDT/zoodles3.jpg) ### INSTRUCTIONS Get a pot of salted water boiling for the zoodles. Spiralize the zucchini and set aside. To make the pesto, place the watercress, basil, garlic cloves, almonds, 1/4 cup parmesan and olive oil in your food processor. Blend until smooth. titleBook Review: "Assassin's Apprentice"
bodyI found this novel when browsing through my local library, the title caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a good novel making me desire to read *Royal Assassin* which happens to be the next in the series. Robin Hobb has a good style, very easy to read. I like his voice and the plot is outstanding and full of intrigue, and action. ![](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91GWKIu0UjL.jpg) [source](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91GWKIu0UjL.jpg) Fitz is the bastard to prince in waiting Chivalry in a land where a prince/king/princess/queen's name reflects the defining feature of their character and Chivalry having a bastard surprises all who know him. Fitz's Mother's father drops him at the palace when his is four or five and his adventures begin. Chivalry abdicates the throne and his right hand man must raise the boy in the palace away from his father. No one let's Fitz forget what he is, and many hate him because he represent's the fall of his father. He also shows a magical talent called Wit, talking to animals, and his raiser believes this to be evil, so Fitz is not allowed to use the skill. He does use it some and is punished for it. Fitz finally comes to the attention of the king, who orders him to be trained in sword, and letters, but he had only worked as a stable hand before. He is also secretly trained to be an assassin, though only the king and the trainer know this, so he becomes the king's assassin, but no one else must know this. He hates the taking of human life, but he has pledged himself a king's man and his honor requires he do as the king bids. Often he must lie to his friends so they will not find out his secrets, for he has more than one. Assassin's must have privacy, so Chade the trainer tells him. (whom ironically is his only real friend) Also a threat has come to the shores of the great kingdom, the shore is raided and anyone captured is robbed of their heart so that they become human animals that care not for their kin or any one else of humanity, they care only obtained the things they want from other people (food, horses, clothing, etc.,) and will kill and maim to get it. And Fitz is in the middle of the intrigue that goes on court between the remaining Princes in line for the throne and the alliances that will bring strength to the kingdom so that they can fight the raiders. He has a hand in eliminating inside threats to the kingdom. *Assassin's Apprentice* is a very good novel, with great characters. Its a page turner, if you like fantasy.

titleHow to Make Snakeskin Plant Pots
bodyI would like to share with you a quick DIY project using Duck Tape. **Snakeskin Duck Tape, to be exact.** ![1-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmdqoZ3UDjthktVbawX7Hbvy2TWhjquf3vuW7rhUzReU6k/1-snakeskin.jpg) I started off with this bright jade plant in a plain plastic pot. I wanted to jazz up the pot without using paint and thought that snakeskin duct tape would be the way to go. ![3-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYeQqBotu6foozC7zFhTKzETNzAUM6CXEB4KAkn598N8b/3-snakeskin.jpg) I ended up going to seven different stores in search of the elusive snakeskin. Who knew that Duck Tape came in so many different styles? I saw everything from jaunty mustaches to One Direction designs. (Tempting, but I really wanted to find the snakeskin.) Finally, at Target I found one. ![2-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmNzeMMQrcoWaqfFzCfr4HT6CN3GJs8E9iAHvDMFoYK5yo/2-snakeskin.jpg) **The creepy snakeskin design!** I simply wrapped the tape around the plastic pot. I created folds in the tape to give it more texture, but then realized that real snakes have smooth skin without any wrinkles. Oh, well. It still looks positively slithery. ![4-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmcrm8quj4roQaDsjCB8YoHvmsjYQfZdRY6kC7B4Gy2VGK/4-snakeskin.jpg) I had plenty of tape left (still do!), so I was looking for another application. ## Creative Snakeskin Duct Tape Projects I happened to have a heavy-duty cardboard gift box lid lolling about that I spray painted spring green a couple years ago, but even a shoebox lid would work great. ![IMG_4104-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmbuwdyYB2T643joLKhoXw2xaZc8UXuPVbyGZYPcvkbay5/IMG_4104-1024x768.jpg) I got to work covering the lid, and the process was incredibly simple. My one tip would be to use scissors, instead of ripping the duct tape, to keep the edges neat. Once I was done, I attached four self-adhesive felt pads to the bottom. (Which isn’t really necessary since there’s no risk of this tray scratching anything, but it seemed to elevate it slightly and give it more polish.) ![IMG_4105-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYGMGbdt5LsD1YRtnCAJu4jQNYoS46LoQAAhvTmbPFZZK/IMG_4105-1024x768.jpg) Here it is after some initial styling on the coffee table: ![IMG_4109-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmNMdYfh3Vemnu2wfZdaCDXR7Pxjj55GQfCHuTTQSyfUs3/IMG_4109-1024x768.jpg) ![IMG_4107-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmQdmi4LDsLVsBF9Mc8KuwJT1raPV1YWKzPH8YC6v8wekA/IMG_4107-1024x768.jpg) The last picture serves as a good reminder that if you’re going to be using your tray on a mirror or any reflective surface, be sure to wrap the tape onto the underside enough so that the original finish doesn’t show. I had still plenty of tape left. This little candle was a perfect victim. ![IMG_4113-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmSeWtEgi9QDfRzhgqp18se8iKvtdaUdzEXChVaPNu54Tr/IMG_4113-1024x768.jpg) Originally, it was black glass with black wax, so it was just crying out for some embellishment. This taping didn’t go flawlessly however. The candle appeared to be a perfect cylinder, but from my experience making lampshades, I should know better than to make any geometrical assumptions. So, the tape didn’t go on without a few creases and lumps. Plus, I should have cut a section for the bottom, instead of having the two pieces of tape overlap so much (to keep the pattern clearer). But it’s not bad for about 35 seconds of work. Last, but not least, I’ll go ahead and make this a hat trick by showing you one more little snakeskin project! ![IMG_4114-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmSHkAn6osMXreaQeGcWvGimVZkxmB2LWJGGFr8f6EPxtp/IMG_4114-1024x768.jpg) I hope this was inspiring! If snakeskin isn’t your thing, there are SO many other patters to choose from. Ikat, leopard print, zebra, damask etc. The possibilities are endless!

"body": "I would like to share with you a quick DIY project using Duck Tape. \n \n**Snakeskin Duck Tape, to be exact.** \n \n \n![1-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmdqoZ3UDjthktVbawX7Hbvy2TWhjquf3vuW7rhUzReU6k/1-snakeskin.jpg) \n \nI started off with this bright jade plant in a plain plastic pot. \n \nI wanted to jazz up the pot without using paint and thought that snakeskin duct tape would be the way to go. \n \n \n![3-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYeQqBotu6foozC7zFhTKzETNzAUM6CXEB4KAkn598N8b/3-snakeskin.jpg) \n \nI ended up going to seven different stores in search of the elusive snakeskin. Who knew that Duck Tape came in so many different styles? I saw everything from jaunty mustaches to One Direction designs. (Tempting, but I really wanted to find the snakeskin.) Finally, at Target I found one. \n \n \n![2-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmNzeMMQrcoWaqfFzCfr4HT6CN3GJs8E9iAHvDMFoYK5yo/2-snakeskin.jpg) \n \n \n**The creepy snakeskin design!** \n \nI simply wrapped the tape around the plastic pot. I created folds in the tape to give it more texture, but then realized that real snakes have smooth skin without any wrinkles. Oh, well. \n \nIt still looks positively slithery. \n \n \n![4-snakeskin.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmcrm8quj4roQaDsjCB8YoHvmsjYQfZdRY6kC7B4Gy2VGK/4-snakeskin.jpg) \n \nI had plenty of tape left (still do!), so I was looking for another application. \n \n \n## Creative Snakeskin Duct Tape Projects \n \nI happened to have a heavy-duty cardboard gift box lid lolling about that I spray painted spring green a couple years ago, but even a shoebox lid would work great. \n \n \n![IMG_4104-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmbuwdyYB2T643joLKhoXw2xaZc8UXuPVbyGZYPcvkbay5/IMG_4104-1024x768.jpg) \n \nI got to work covering the lid, and the process was incredibly simple. My one tip would be to use scissors, instead of ripping the duct tape, to keep the edges neat. Once I was done, I attached four self-adhesive felt pads to the bottom. (Which isn’t really necessary since there’s no risk of this tray scratching anything, but it seemed to elevate it slightly and give it more polish.) \n \n \n![IMG_4105-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYGMGbdt5LsD1YRtnCAJu4jQNYoS46LoQAAhvTmbPFZZK/IMG_4105-1024x768.jpg) \n \nHere it is after some initial styling on the coffee table: \n \n \n![IMG_4109-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmNMdYfh3Vemnu2wfZdaCDXR7Pxjj55GQfCHuTTQSyfUs3/IMG_4109-1024x768.jpg) \n \n \n![IMG_4107-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmQdmi4LDsLVsBF9Mc8KuwJT1raPV1YWKzPH8YC6v8wekA/IMG_4107-1024x768.jpg) \n \nThe last picture serves as a good reminder that if you’re going to be using your tray on a mirror or any reflective surface, be sure to wrap the tape onto the underside enough so that the original finish doesn’t show. \n \nI had still plenty of tape left. This little candle was a perfect victim. \n \n \n![IMG_4113-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmSeWtEgi9QDfRzhgqp18se8iKvtdaUdzEXChVaPNu54Tr/IMG_4113-1024x768.jpg) \n \nOriginally, it was black glass with black wax, so it was just crying out for some embellishment. \n \nLast, but not least, I’ll go ahead and make this a hat trick by showing you one more little snakeskin project! \n \n \n![IMG_4114-1024x768.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmSHkAn6osMXreaQeGcWvGimVZkxmB2LWJGGFr8f6EPxtp/IMG_4114-1024x768.jpg) \n \nI hope this was inspiring! body![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/RlF8pVdj-image.png) ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/DirLjH3o-image.png) A while back, I was happy to give this lone glove a home. it belonged to a friend who was throwing it out. And yesterday I happened to find this colorful pair of children's gloves at an op shop. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/NgZHt7mS-image.png) I was inspired by a drawing that I saw on Pinterest. I made another drawing of it; it's the one on the left. But my gloves have the thumbs set over the first finger. So I had to rethink the animal parts. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/GiFsZ35G-image.png) Wherever you left it, what you have is one glove with no match. Woo-hoo! I smell a crafting opportunity! I used the thumb as the tail. Because I left the legs long, I had to use a bit of the cuff to make the ears. Because the legs were so long, I folded them up and tacked them so my animal could sit. By the time I had made the head, I could see this little critter was becoming a little mouse. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/VPHwVDu1-image.png) The colorful children's gloves were a little more difficult. The weave was a bit larger while the actual glove pieces were smaller. The tail was not exactly in the middle of the back. The head piece was rather narrow. No worries! I used some fingers from the second glove and made it a dragon! Then I added some buttons and a bit of embroidery floss whiskers for the mouse and now I have 2 little glove animals. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/aboUBBBZ-image.png) My advice is to just cut and sew, turn right sides out, stuff, and then see what your pieces suggest to you. Make handfuls of stocking stuffers! :) Just a little crafting humor there. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/RlF8pVdj-image.png) The dragon ended up having different patterns on the face because of the knitting on the glove. I LOVE it! ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/5wRqNRyd-image.png) ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/XEa0wShq-image.png) This is me and the little mouse watching Pollyanna while I sew. I have discovered loads of full movies on You Tube and I don't have a TV. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/ruNLxrPU-image.png)

Make handfuls of stocking stuffers! :) Just a little crafting humor there. \n \n![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/RlF8pVdj-image.png) \n \nThe dragon ended up having different patterns on the face because of the knitting on the glove. I LOVE it! \n \n![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/5wRqNRyd-image.png) \n \n![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/XEa0wShq-image.png) \n \nThis is me and the little mouse watching Pollyanna while I sew. I have discovered loads of full movies on You Tube and I don't have a TV. \n \n![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/diana8/ruNLxrPU-image.png)",

titleProduct Review (Part 1): ZA Dramatic Eye Colour in Silver & Violet
bodyHi everyone, This will be a 2 part review of the ZA products. It took me sometime to finally get down to it, I thought of using it for a few days, before giving my comments, but the colors I got aren't ones which I would use everyday in my morning routine... so I had to apply the colors on my eyes today, and hopefully share with you what I think about them. Click here to read about my 'haul' entry on these products, because I did mention how the eyeshadow palettes were developed, as the target market/ consumers (mainly in Japan) like to use mascara and eyeshadows as part of their makeup routine. According to the product information which came with the products: 1. the eyeshadows come in a combination of 4 gradation shades to achieve big, defined and bold eyes, effortlessly. 2. the poreless powder covers uneven areas (creases) around the eye to create a smooth finish. 3. contains Vitamin E to nourish skin around the eyes 4. smooth texture allows powder to glide on easily 5. wrapped in a new look -- chic pink packaging In my opinion, I have a feeling that these products appeal to consumers who are looking for an affordable and easy to use options when it comes to makeup. You don't need to figure out colour combinations, as all the colours which you need in the eye makeup look is all in one neat palette. And also, the shimmery shades of these eyeshadows also probably appeal to the younger segment of the market (late teens, to early 20s?). Well, before I ramble on, let's see some swatches - you might also want to click on Kas' blog entry for her swatches of the eyeshadows. Also, do take note that I did not read all her entries on the ZA cosmetics so that I can give the most objective review and comments about the products.
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYXEdd8ch6o2iJinz8TCUYeXoCYxSjpDo7objBxntAdCD/image.png)

![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVXc1pwud6sEPEWtmuzgMZ12XAPwvA97iQAEWjD4KwZj1/image.png)
I swatched the colors using the sponge tip applicator that comes with each palette. Next, I also use the same applicators to apply the colors, obeying the instructions that came with the products on how the 4 shades work together, and how to achieve the look that 'creates bigger, brighter and defined eyes effortlessly'. Reason I did not want to use my own makeup brushes is because I want to put myself in the position of a regular customer who may not own a lot of makeup brushes and might be actually using these sponge tip applicators to apply the products. Personally, I find that there is nothing wrong with using sponge tip applicators for eyeshadows... just that they are usually too tiny for my hands to handle, and many of the eyeshadows I bought and use comes without the applicators, so I tend to reach for brushes most of the time. From the swatches, I find that only the lightest and darkest shades are different, while the middle shades aren't too different in terms of tone. Here are the instructions for application:
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUg5kGuvw8vQfkkAV1V4yuUvfGptJtHMRPqhG465VLmLh/image.png)

![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWAzvWR343LJjKB67FyBNyc9Sak6Ujq7u79YXawav9jom/image.png)
**And this is what I came up with** -- I also used the same MAC Bare Canvas paint on my eyes. I did not use a colored base, because I did not want to change the color and texture of the eyeshadows. I just needed something neutral which will grab on to the eyeshadows. I also use the ZA Wide Eyed Mascara. This picture, we have the Silver palette, which looks like the typical colors you would use in a smokey eye look, the silvery black type of smokey eyes.
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmP4ouGbHUJq7zKrKSDVCuidkgNbZYi9z4dCnNAxzFC8R4/image.png)

![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW1fQry1di6gjq2fszaZRUZXAZoajzR1DVVExMyfbVb5q/image.png)
And the Violet palette and Violet mascara : the colors look more vibrant in the swatches than the actual application.
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmY37BcytDyjnJXoK6jRXDHn2DokqtwrieLD21ALBbuCYu/image.png)

![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdtURt4ziDUhXqRXworM2UDXf8w2j27NKQP9u5ACFwUkG/image.png)
**And a close up picture of my eyes with the Black Wide Eyed mascara** -- My sister said my lashes look sooooo pathetic!!! But hey, in my defense, I did not even curl my lashes here.. I think I have forgotten how to curl my lashes too.... I prolly end up pinching my lids instead of curling my lashes.
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYeXFTCeEcjN1EcTq6m2t1zGR3w4XLv7voipLggAvqoaZ/image.png)
My thoughts on these products, in particular, the eyeshadows: The darkest shades in both palettes contains very pretty iridescent shimmers, and I can see that can add a very interesting touch to a smokey eye look. However, in using this shade as a liner, as mentioned in the instructions, it doesn't last long at all. In fact, by the time I am done with one eye, the 'liner' is gone/ faded! So I recommend using this as a outer crease color instead. There is fall out situation going on, especially from the lighter shades. My whole eye area and my nose were covered in a little silvery particles from the eyeshadow. This happened despite the base which I put on. The middle 2 shades are not very defined in terms of color difference. So my lid colors are not very obvious before they fade into the highlighter shade. This is a very small palette, and the colors are very close together, but I think this isn't a problem as long as you are using the sponge tip applicators instead of a brush, which might make the eyeshadows mix together. The texture of the eyeshadows is rather powdery, so using a base is recommended. If you want more vibrant color payoff, use a matching colored base. Personally, I would use each shade individually, instead of as a palette combo. This is because all the shades are shimmery, and I prefer to have a mixture of shimmer and matte shades when I do my eye makeup. The color payoff is not very impressive, because the colors are very pale, and pastel, except for the lightest and darkest shades, which are good as highlight and outer crease colors. These palettes are good for makeup beginners who want to create a simple eyelook with a palette. These palettes are also good for girls who like shimmery eyeshadows, or like to sweep the colors across their lids (ie, not very defined in terms of colors difference, but just a light sweep of color all over the eyes for brightening effect). The packaging is also very cute, with the mirror on the inside and outside of the compact, allowing you to 'close up' on your eyes during the makeup process. I also like how the sponge tip applicators are firm, and apply the colors rather smoothly. The mascara, from my experience with such tooth combed applicators, is very good for separating and lengthening the lashes... not so much for volume. You can see how long my tiny tiny tiny lashes look after 3 or 4 coats of the mascara. I would let my sister use the mascara for one week, and watch out for Part 2 of this review. Because she uses mascara everyday, and she can give a more comprehensive opinion on the mascara. I hope this review has been helpful, and thanks for reading!!!

"title": "Product Review (Part 1): ZA Dramatic Eye Colour in Silver & Violet",
"body": "Hi everyone,\n\nThis will be a 2 part review of the ZA products. It took me sometime to finally get down to it, I thought of using it for a few days, before giving my comments, but the colors I got aren't ones which I would use everyday in my morning routine... so I had to apply the colors on my eyes today, and hopefully share with you what I think about them.\n\nClick here to read about my 'haul' entry on these products, because I did mention how the eyeshadow palettes were developed, as the target market/ consumers (mainly in Japan) like to use mascara and eyeshadows as part of their makeup routine.\n\nAccording to the product information which came with the products:\n\n1. the eyeshadows come in a combination of 4 gradation shades to achieve big, defined and bold eyes, effortlessly.\n2. the poreless powder covers uneven areas (creases) around the eye to create a smooth finish.\n3. contains Vitamin E to nourish skin around the eyes\n4. smooth texture allows powder to glide on easily\n5. wrapped in a new look -- chic pink packaging\n\nIn my opinion, I have a feeling that these products appeal to consumers who are looking for an affordable and easy to use options when it comes to makeup. You don't need to figure out colour combinations, as all the colours which you need in the eye makeup look is all in one neat palette. And also, the shimmery shades of these eyeshadows also probably appeal to the younger segment of the market (late teens, to early 20s?).\n\nWell, before I ramble on, let's see some swatches - you might also want to click on Kas' blog entry for her swatches of the eyeshadows.\n\nAlso, do take note that I did not read all her entries on the ZA cosmetics so that I can give the most objective review and comments about the products.\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYXEdd8ch6o2iJinz8TCUYeXoCYxSjpDo7objBxntAdCD/image.png)
\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVXc1pwud6sEPEWtmuzgMZ12XAPwvA97iQAEWjD4KwZj1/image.png)\n
\n\nI swatched the colors using the sponge tip applicator that comes with each palette.\n\nNext, I also use the same applicators to apply the colors, obeying the instructions that came with the products on how the 4 shades work together, and how to achieve the look that 'creates bigger, brighter and defined eyes effortlessly'. Reason I did not want to use my own makeup brushes is because I want to put myself in the position of a regular customer who may not own a lot of makeup brushes and might be actually using these sponge tip applicators to apply the products. Personally, I find that there is nothing wrong with using sponge tip applicators for eyeshadows... just that they are usually too tiny for my hands to handle, and many of the eyeshadows I bought and use comes without the applicators, so I tend to reach for brushes most of the time.\n\nFrom the swatches, I find that only the lightest and darkest shades are different, while the middle shades aren't too different in terms of tone.\n\nHere are the instructions for application:\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUg5kGuvw8vQfkkAV1V4yuUvfGptJtHMRPqhG465VLmLh/image.png)
\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWAzvWR343LJjKB67FyBNyc9Sak6Ujq7u79YXawav9jom/image.png)
\n\n**And this is what I came up with** -- I also used the same MAC Bare Canvas paint on my eyes. I did not use a colored base, because I did not want to change the color and texture of the eyeshadows. I just needed something neutral which will grab on to the eyeshadows.\n\nI also use the ZA Wide Eyed Mascara.\n\nThis picture, we have the Silver palette, which looks like the typical colors you would use in a smokey eye look, the silvery black type of smokey eyes.\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmP4ouGbHUJq7zKrKSDVCuidkgNbZYi9z4dCnNAxzFC8R4/image.png)
\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW1fQry1di6gjq2fszaZRUZXAZoajzR1DVVExMyfbVb5q/image.png)
\n\nAnd the Violet palette and Violet mascara : the colors look more vibrant in the swatches than the actual application.\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmY37BcytDyjnJXoK6jRXDHn2DokqtwrieLD21ALBbuCYu/image.png)
\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdtURt4ziDUhXqRXworM2UDXf8w2j27NKQP9u5ACFwUkG/image.png)
\n\n**And a close up picture of my eyes with the Black Wide Eyed mascara** -- My sister said my lashes look sooooo pathetic!!! But hey, in my defense, I did not even curl my lashes here.. I think I have forgotten how to curl my lashes too.... I prolly end up pinching my lids instead of curling my lashes.\n\n\n
![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYeXFTCeEcjN1EcTq6m2t1zGR3w4XLv7voipLggAvqoaZ/image.png)
\n\nMy thoughts on these products, in particular, the eyeshadows:\n\nThe darkest shades in both palettes contains very pretty iridescent shimmers, and I can see that can add a very interesting touch to a smokey eye look. However, in using this shade as a liner, as mentioned in the instructions, it doesn't last long at all. In fact, by the time I am done with one eye, the 'liner' is gone/ faded! So I recommend using this as a outer crease color instead.\n\nThere is fall out situation going on, especially from the lighter shades. My whole eye area and my nose were covered in a little silvery particles from the eyeshadow. This happened despite the base which I put on.\n\nThe middle 2 shades are not very defined in terms of color difference. So my lid colors are not very obvious before they fade into the highlighter shade.\n\nThis is a very small palette, and the colors are very close together, but I think this isn't a problem as long as you are using the sponge tip applicators instead of a brush, which might make the eyeshadows mix together.\n\nThe texture of the eyeshadows is rather powdery, so using a base is recommended. If you want more vibrant color payoff, use a matching colored base.\n\nPersonally, I would use each shade individually, instead of as a palette combo. This is because all the shades are shimmery, and I prefer to have a mixture of shimmer and matte shades when I do my eye makeup.\n\nThe color payoff is not very impressive, because the colors are very pale, and pastel, except for the lightest and darkest shades, which are good as highlight and outer crease colors.\n\nThese palettes are good for makeup beginners who want to create a simple eyelook with a palette.\n\nThese palettes are also good for girls who like shimmery eyeshadows, or like to sweep the colors across their lids (ie, not very defined in terms of colors difference, but just a light sweep of color all over the eyes for brightening effect).\n\nThe packaging is also very cute, with the mirror on the inside and outside of the compact, allowing you to 'close up' on your eyes during the makeup process. I also like how the sponge tip applicators are firm, and apply the colors rather smoothly.\n \n\nThe mascara, from my experience with such tooth combed applicators, is very good for separating and lengthening the lashes... not so much for volume. You can see how long my tiny tiny tiny lashes look after 3 or 4 coats of the mascara.\n\nI would let my sister use the mascara for one week, and watch out for Part 2 of this review. Because she uses mascara everyday, and she can give a more comprehensive opinion on the mascara.\n\nI hope this review has been helpful, and thanks for reading!!!",
