      "body": "I \nMiss\nYou\nByt i understand that is more for me than it could ever be for you.\n\nNotes/caption\n\nWanting doesn't always mean wanted.\nNor does my missing you mean that you miss me. I understand this.\n\nI have often heard people say things like \"I miss you so much it hurts\" and I used to relate to that until I came to an understanding that the act of missing someone alone doesn't hurt. It is wishing for those feelings to be reciprocated and being met with a closed heart that hurts. Often when we miss someone the first thing we think to do is text or call to let them know that we are thinking about them. It is when you don't get a response that missing someone starts to hurt and that hurts because in a way they have silently given you an answer you don't want to hear \"thank you but I don't miss you nor am I thinking of you\"\n\nSo at most when I miss someone, especially the people I want who have never really wanted me back (because those are sadly the ones we miss most) I keep it to myself. I skip the texting and calling part. I sit myself down instead and ask this question; \"what is it in me that is dysfunctional because this person is not here.       "body": "Hello Steemians\n\nNot exactly my first post but it could very well be. I am Portia from South Africa, a traveler and writer. I also sing apparently :) and that's how i got here. My friend Rob aka @songsmiths told me about the cool community of steemians and insisted i join and so here i am. Rob and I met sometime last year when i wanted to do a video of one of my songs - see link below :) \nthat was my first ever video and my shyness crept all over it. My partner and I were on a two week vacation there and it was on the third day, a morning drive up the mountains, where we discovered that kids here walk a near 10KMs to school everyday. We gave a ride to the first 9 kids we met on the road and more just kept coming so we had to do a total 4 trips that morning. The gratitude in their little faces at the end of it all made our entire vacation",
