| body | A conservative wrote in local newspaper today the following - " it’s the handouts that destroy one’s incentive to work that’s bad.". I disagree with that statement. Handouts do not destroy one's incentive to work. They help us sustain us through the most difficult times. I have been unemployed for long periods of time due to the result of my own actions. Yet, things like Medical, Obamacare, and unemployment insurance have been a big help. They have helped me through the difficult times without resorting to drain through my precious savings too much. They have preserved the incentive to work by waiting for the right job to come and provide additional resources while working part-time to get through a rough patch. The concept that handouts are a disincentive to work is crazy. It is what gets us through the hard times. |

| body | Fenatyl is the bain of addiction. It is word that you do not hear a lot of meetings that I go to. But I attend primarily AA meetings and the one NA meeting that I go to consistently is where people do not share about Fenatyl regularly. It is not a drug that here about the rooms, but outside of the rooms, it is a huge problem. I mean a huge problem. Fentayl is scourge in the midwest and the West. If I did not have my treasurer committment and my commute was not as extreme, I would go down to more meetings at the Costa Mesa Alano Club. At the Costa Mesa Club, there are stories of the horrors of fenatyl. It is used to be that fenatyl was not the primary drug of choice for these addicts. Since there is a high concentration of rehab centers down there, you get people that come into those meetings that tell about their stories with fenatyl. The stories about fenatyl are worse than heroin. I mean it is worth than heroin. Like 50 times worse. Good old smack might result in an occasional overdose but a junkie with low-grade heroin can survive for some time as long he does not inject high doses and the means to pay for his/her addiction. But this smack (the fenatyl) is the literal devil. One shot of that stuff just to get your normal fix is a death sentence. Why do you have to the devil of a drug? While not have a good old smack like the good old days? Is not the purpose of dealing dope is the get the junkie as long as possible so you paying customer hooked to your stuff? Not to killing your customer but giving that person the goods so they can keep on buying to either they get arrested or work the steps and leave the lifestyle for good. But the dealers of fenatyl do not even care. They are care about dispensing this drug of death for a fee as cheap possible and dispense of drug that kills people. I do not anybody personally died of fenatyl overdose but still the death toll is staggering and insurmountable. I personally do not know how to solve this problem except for the program but the 12 steps is not for everybody and that program does not get everybody clean. I know that programs works for me but my beliefs which is hybrid of Christianity and secular humanism allows me to thrive in the program because I have no problem with a concept of a higher power even there is no God. But some people will always struggle with that concept because of prior life experience that the program cannot change or mental health conditions that the program cannot deal with. They deserve the chances to recover and survive and not die of these disease. Is legalized weed is the answer? I do not know. This is a question for the treatment community and not for me. I work in the defense industry and probably will be stuck in the defense industry until I retire because I know the rules like an encyclopedia. But Fenatyl is the devil and President Trump is not going to solve this. We need to wait until we get somebody in there like Elizabeth Warren who probably has much more measured method to deal with this and the problem will significantly decrease over a period of several years and not at once. |

| body | Today marked the date that Jesus Garza, aka "The Chemical Vampire" was buried. It was odd to see a former friend now a corpse. You could see the weight of sadness on his sister and his wife. His friend Peter dealt with bouts of sorrow and despair. Death is not a pretty thing. It brings grief which can be emotionally exhausting and challenging feeling to process. Some people never recover grief successfully and eventually end up engaging in destructive behavior. Excessive drinking, suicide, and even murder happen as a result of not coping with grief adequately. However, I think everybody today will remember who what Jesus was, a kind and caring people. Jesus himself could not correctly handle the death of his mom. The powerful effects of devasting grief enveloped his soul and took him to dark places. Dark places that eventually resulted in quick death. How do I deal with grief? Grief for me is express through loneliness and reminiscing about the person. Grief is expressed through subconscious dreams. Concerning expressing sorrow, I have flatline emotions instead of a face full of tears and pain. No emotional sadness just a sense of that something was gone or taken for this world. I think the same thing will happen with mom except for the intensity of loneliness will be a lot worse than Jesus Garza's death. It will be flatline emotion with a sense of Anhedonia for an extended period. That will be the feeling. It will mean daily attendance to meetings, avoiding the bars, going to detox and panels, and just staying the program until the Anhedonia o. I could see myself not going to Burning Man events for an extended period as I deal with the trauma of my mom's death Jesus Garza chooses death over dealing with grief. His frail body could not handle pain. That is not a tragedy, but instead, he decides to go. He had a symbiotic relationship with his mother, and he wanted to be with her in eternity (in the Christian heaven). I have no concept of an afterlife, and all this of life is what he had. If there is an afterlife, it is probably is a heaven for the faithful and a shadowy Hades for everybody else. (My spiritual beliefs are heavily infused with evangelical Christianity which I have not entirely shaken off yet). |

| body | Yeah, it is that time of year. The time of year before Burning Man. For me, this time is hard because everybody that you enjoy going is hyping and enjoying the Burn. The missing out depression is beginning to get home. But when you work for small business, taking a whole week off work to attend Burning Man is a hard thing. You know never know when something pops that your boss needs your immediate attention. Also, it was extremely hot at Burning Man and I remember that everybody, I mean everybody was bitching about it. When it came to ticket day, those two things were on my mind. And I got in the line for the tickets but I did not go to any lengths to get tickets that day. Staying home just to get tickets was probably that I should have done. But I did not and did not And tickets for premium. I mean real premium. So I never tried to get one. I just did want to deal with the heat and more importantly the anxiety of me being gone from my job for a week. I overthink things a lot and I mean a lot. I take great care in making decisions because I do not want to deal with the extreme overthinking that goes in my head. So with that decisions comes this time of year. And comes that feelings of sadness of not sharing in that collective memory called Burning Man. But I am somebody who takes adulting very serious. I do need the vacation time to do adult things that I need to get done like go to the DMV to get my driver's license (which can be an all day affair), get a physical, or go to the dentist. Plus I have other weekend trips that come in the fall, winter, and spring. In reality, mid to late August is probably my least favorite time of year. It is hot and all of your friends are partying in the desert and you are not. I am actually looking forward to the post-burn season for things like Youtopia, Venice/LA Decom, Thanksgiving, Christmas (12 days of NA), I want to Arizona and spend Thanksgiving with my Uncle Mike/Sandy. My parents are going being home more which I spend more time with the dog. And of course, it is not too damn hot. And course there is football on all of the time. And baseball gets good as well because it is close to the World Series (sad that the Angels are not contention, that would be good thing). It is just dealing with rotten feelings during a time of a year that I dislike the most. Yeah, and feelings know how to mess with you |

| body | Unbearable heat makes today a dreary day. Instead of doing the books and recording journal entries, I spent the day of misery at home. If you came out of the room, you felt like you were in a blast furnace. My roommate had to work on the roof of an unknown commercial facility. He came home in a brow of sweat. A brow of sweat. He was that hot. For me, I just spent the day inside. I did have a productive day: applied for a job closer to home and went to get my disability ID card at the OCTA. I went into an air-conditioned courtroom that I should have been in. I call 95 degrees even 100 bearable, but 109 no way jose. If you live in Phoenix, you would call me a coward indeed. But I am not used to such misery, and the heat is out to get me. The dreariness carries into tomorrow, but hopefully, by Sunday, it will be cooler |

| body | An alcoholic said today - "Funny how people consider addicts to be weak considering how difficult it is living as one. Waking up everyday with a pounding headache with a feeling of a baby elephant sitting on your chest, anxiety so bad it feels like a vice grip is lodged in your gut, getting outta bed despite all this and going to work where you're forced to deal with the world while being barely functional. Dragging yourself to the liquor store no matter how shit you feel, doing chores and errands when all you wanna do is crawl in a hole and die peacefully. Having family and friends leave you alone with your demons. The isolation and turmoil we carry every day, and despite all this we keep moving forward. I'm proud of you guys, this shit isn't easy" Shit, I am on the other side of that. The other side of the light shines over me and bless me with good luck. I no longer have to deal with that bondage because it is wretched. Purely wretched. And yet I spared the pain of that ugly misery called alcoholism for another day. And many days hopefully in the future |

| body | Today I went to a picnic today that had over 200 people at it. 200 people. That is a lot of people. I mean a lot. 200 people for me is a dizzying amount of people. Trying to interact and learn 200 people names, hobbies, and interest makes it a severe problem. As usual, I went to up to people and just said "Hi," "How are you doing," or "What is going in your life?" I wanted to keep conversation superficial at best, so I can avoid trying to steer conservation with a person who also has to cope with 200 people. The other person feels just overwhelmed as I do, but they have probably do have coping mechanisms which allow them to process two hundred people and prioritize which people to speak with at the event. I just become overwhelmed with the number of people, and as time passed, my ability to cognitively handle the conversation declined. The superficial conversation helped me cope with my poor ability to learn how to capture people's attention with stimulating conversation and also the ability to draw their attention away from the potential of having a conservation with one of the other two hundred people there. Learning that takes a considerable amount of skill and challenge. It would mean that I am willing to exert myself to best of my ability to achieve the meaningful moment with somebody that I do not know. As a person who has mild autism, I shy away from that. The more natural path is to accept my limitations and go to the event. I know there are people out there who you want to exert yourself to the limits socially. They want to become a master extrovert. But for me, this is not the crowd to become the master extrovert especially with the number of people to deal with and the audience that I am dealing with at the event. I find that meaningful conservations come best in a smaller crowd and with people with like minds and intellects. I need to stop to think that I need to be some great extrovert because I am not. |

| body | Lack of social contact is an issue. For me, it is something that I face on daily basis. There are days where I get plenty of meaningful social contact. There are others days where social contact is lacking. And it feels lonely. I read someplace where 50% of people feel that they are not getting social contact with other people. 50% is a very high number. When you count social contact with roommates, I would say that almost every day has some meaningful social contact in my life. I work in a very small office where me and my boss are super-focused on work. There is little time for banter between us. We share very few things in common except for working styles which we do very well at. But there is little social interaction there. I spent a huge part of my day which is about 4.5 hours when you count it. All of that is spent alone on a digital device or in a book. No social interaction is there. It is very difficult in a culture where everybody so busy and trying to get by to have a simple conversation with a stranger. It is a not typical social custom where I live to engage people on the train. Proper manners is to keep to yourself which is fine by me (because I am introvert at heart). To me, to have that social interaction on the train requires a huge act of courage and me willing to take a chance that the stranger on the train wants to have a conservation instead of napping. In conclusion, the amount of social contact that I get is adequate but it is not as nearly as I desire. However, when it comes to a support system to lean upon in a times of trouble, that is not the problem. It is just those day to day desires. As I discover right now, writing is a great way to cope with loneliness because you are putting words and thoughts to a digital medium to get your feelings out and that is therapy. |

| body | Wow,his was a good read, as it hit home for me. Its not fair for these laws to be passed and not support the young mothers bring up their children e.g free health care, more food stamps and all. But since the state has failed in that sense, i would suggest more on education of prevention of unwanted pregnancies. Eg 1) educate the masses on birth control and safe sex options. 2)make the options very cheap, if possible free. For example if they encourage the use of condoms, they should have free supply of condoms in public places , so that people dont have lame excuses of "oh, it was too late to get on a condom". That and many more preventive measures can be carried out. After all, prevention is always better. |

| body | I am no fan of abortion. It is something that I prefer not talking about it. I do not openly support it. But, I do believe in access to abortion as a right of choice. A choice to have control over your body is a critical value to me. I would never, ever under any circumstances would consciously support a woman's right to terminate a baby that I fathered. I would state that the mother that it's her job to pop out of the kid and then I would take a responsibility raising the kid. But it's not my body, and if she decides to abort the child, then it's her decision and her right to do so. This is why this law in Iowa is so concerning Iowa past a new law as reported by the AP that would pass the fetal heartbeat law. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on Friday signed a law banning most abortions if a fetal heartbeat can be detected, or at around six weeks of pregnancy, marking the strictest abortion regulation in the nation — but setting the state up for a lengthy court fight. The Republican governor signed the legislation in her formal office at the state Capitol as protesters gathered outside chanting, “My body, my choice!” Reynolds acknowledged that the new law would likely face litigation, but said: “This is bigger than just a law, this is about life, and I’m not going to back down.” Reynolds has previously said she was “proud to be pro-life.” What concerns is that limits a woman have the freedom of choice to what does she do with her body. And it also is designed to be a test case so that five ultra-conservative Supreme Court justices would state that the law is legal and effectively dealing a Roe Vs Wade as invalid. Than states can start to eliminate abortion on a state by state level. That is what concerns me. The only positive and I mean that the only positive that the blowback on the GOP would be so large that blue wave in 2020 would come in and crush the GOP in a landslide. ANd the negative thing about this law is that these laws do not allow for a signifcant increase in the food stamp, universal daycare, and significantly making progress to cover the gender gap. If a woman is going to force to have a kid that she does now want, than these fools should be required to vastly expand the welfare state and education budgets to deal with the kids. These people make decision based on religious motivations, but then do not foresee the consequences of their decisions. And if they were truely consistent with the biblical message, than they would be ready to expand the social safety net so the consequences of their actions would be properly dealt with in a correct way. To me, it is an act of both sexual repression and inhumane control that these people pass their law. Little thought is given to the consequences of their actions Expanding the social safety and education spending to accommodate the additional kids. Also, increasing the amount of early child and parental classes to assist struggling new mothers handle the burden of being a single mother. Otherwise, you will get a bunch of kids that are unruly, undisciplined. and unwanted. The so-called religious revival that is going to make America have wholesome Christian families is never going to happen. The amount of "righteous Christians" has always been small. The amount of pseudo followers of God that are out there are in the millions. And author of Revelations knew this and he wrote about the seven Churches. Only the Church of Smyrna and Church of Philadelphia were the righetous church. And righteous Christians would properly follow the instructions of God's law and would not engage in behavior that would require an abortion. Abortions are designed for the people who have choosen to follow a non-Christian spiritual path and should have that right of choice. Why would we trust the Christian right who most of their members would be in the members of the other five churches (not Philadelphia or Smyrna) to dictate to the rest of society about freedom of reproductive rights? These are the same people who engage in the same sinful behavior as the Christian conservative preacheers state as the "World" and yet want society to live in some type of twisted version of Ayn Rand Laissez-faire capitalistic society. |

These are the same people who engage in the same sinful behavior as the Christian conservative preacheers state as the \"World\" and yet want society to live in some type of twisted version of Ayn Rand Laissez-faire capitalistic society.",

| body | [Huffington Post](https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-cobb-flood-mueller_us_5ae9e922e4b022f71a04650d) has a story about Ty Cobb (the guy with the handlebar mustache) "President Donald Trump plans to replace White House lawyer Ty Cobb with Emmet T. Flood, a lawyer who represented former President Bill Clinton during his late-1990s impeachment hearings. “For several weeks Ty Cobb has been discussing his retirement and last week he let Chief of Staff Kelly know he would retire at the end of the month,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement confirming Cobb’s departure. Flood’s decision to join the White House was confirmed by his law firm, the Washington-D.C.-based Williams & Connolly LLP. “We are disappointed to lose him to the White House, but we fully appreciate Emmet’s strong commitment to public service,” said Williams & Connolly LLP Chairman Dane Butswinkas in a statement. “The White House will be fortunate to have his experienced counsel.” So what is the end of game of this? Yesterday, the goons in the House of Representative as reported by [The Hill](http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/385587-conservative-house-lawmakers-draft-articles-of-impeachment-against) think it is a great idea to draft articles of impeachment. So, I believe the Emmett Flood's job is to find a way to develop a strong legal reasoning from the impeachment articles and use that to fire Mueller or Rosenstein for cause. That is their end game. Otherwise, Trump is going to sink in a millstone of his own creation because he was too dumb to understand what collusion meant or too dumb to understand what obstruction of justice. Does that mean what Trump did was equal to Watergate? No, it was not. Watergate was far worse, but if the GOP impeached Clinton for lying about a sexual act and than Trump can be impeached for low-level felony of obstruction of justice (like something you would to go to prison for a year and a day) or low-level collusion with a foreign government (again something with a sentence less than three years in the federal pentitary). What Trump did does not meet the standard of Watergate (Watergate was far worse if you read about it) or lying about the Iraq War like Bush did or committing war crimes like conspiracy to commit torture like Dick Cheney did (those are far more serious crimes that would have sent Cheney and potentially Bush to the Hague for war crimes trials). He also violate the ennoulments clauses (which is not a felony and is civil offensive) but still could qualify as a impeachable offensive (which is alone far worse than Clinton's famous quote "I did not have sexual relationship with that woman" So Trump goal is to eliminate Mueller so he does not have to go through an impeachment vote in the House and than get acquitted in the Senate. Trump with then be the third President to be impeached and will remain in office. But it still a tar in his record that he probably would want to avoid. The endgame is not to be the third President to be impeached but not removed from office. And that is why he hired Emmet Flood. But if the money laudering stuff is found to be true, than Trump needs to go immediately. You cannot have a sitting President who laundered illegal money from Russian mobsters. That will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and Mr. Flood will also work hard to prevent Mueller to find evidence of that. And that is why Mueller could getting be a pink slip soon. |

| body | <html> <p>I always blame myself for not watching scripted series. Seriously, there is a wealth of TV shows out there, I mean lots of them. I could count the number of shows on Netflix unwatched.</p> <p>I have problem with watching scripted TV shows and it probably has to do with having ADHD. With all of the things that I could be watching, I become overwhelmed in the selection of TV shows out there. </p> <p>The problem about watching scripted TV shows is that I either become bored because I do not find the TV show stimulating enough or more likely, I have to fight my inattention problem to sit down and watch TV show for 60 minutes.</p> <p>It serious takes a lot of mental effort to sit down and watch the show and hold my attention. It is seriously challenging exercise. Ask me to run nine miles and I tell you "Yeah I can do that". Ask me to run payroll for 40 employees without making mistake and I say "Yeah I can do that". Ask me to read 50 pages of political history book of modern history and I would say "Yeah I can do that"</p> <p>Even read a Game of Thrones Novel. "Yeah I can do that".</p> <p>But to watch an eposide of "New Girl" or watch a two hour movie. I would say "No, I could do that"</p> <p>If asked me to watch a movie as a social activtiy with friends, yeah I could do that. For me, it takes making watching a TV a social activity with friends (which I was easier when I was living in sober living or when my friend Seth had move nights at his house). Or date night with TV series- the answer is "Hell Yes".</p> <p>In conclusion, watching a TV is more communal activity than something I do alone. My preference is to be alone and watch my Youtube political videos than to watch scripted series. And also, never is no watercooler talk where I work. I only work with one coworker (which is my boss or her niece). And we do not talk about watercooler stuff because we are small business with a lot of employees to manage and a lot of things to do.</p> <p>And on Metrolink? Forget it. Nobody talks to strangers on the train anymore.<br> </p> </html> |
