Join us for a evening stroll to see the caves. Dinosaur Caves Park is just a beautiful gem worth visiting if you are visiting Pismo Beach. Named after 50-foot metal and concrete brontosaurus that was constructed as a tourist attraction in the 1940s (during that time, visitors were able to enter into the dinosaur and go through the tunnel in the tail that lead to an underground sea cavern. Unfortunately the dinosaur burned in a fire in the 1960's and the cave collapsed). This park is very dog and kid friendly that has beautiful views of the ocean. Park amenities include a wedding location overlooking the ocean, as well as a grassy reception area, and an amphitheater for entertainment events. These features are available for rent on an hourly basis. A restroom and off-street parking are also offered. Additionally, a large unique play area is found in the park and includes a gentle dinosaur, two concrete dolphins, three beautiful dinosaur eggs, three playful seals, a tire swing, tot swing, and The USS IMAGINATION. There is a paved trail that is perfect for walkers, pets and runners that overlook the Pacific Ocean. There are picnic tables, plenty of grassy areas for pets to sniff and play and relieve themselves. Please note that there are also restrooms available here that are clean and well kept. Ostrichland in Buellton is a wild Central Coast landmark, and my favorite stop when traveling North. They have 100+ ostriches and emus and you feed them for an upclose encounter with the largest land bird in the world. They are also the fastest running at speeds of 45 mph. You can think of OstrichLand like a zoo. The Ostriches and Emus are here for your enjoyment. Visitors are invited to feed the animals, or just stand back and enjoy the interactions and antics of these unbelievably large birds. Feeding Ostriches at OstrichLand You’ll find our Ostriches and Emus have been raised to be fed by the visitors and are trained to eat out of a bowl. We even have two female Ostriches who were hand-raised in the store (until they grew too big, of course!) They now have babies! They have been hatching birds and will possibly have babies for public viewing. The babies are not for sale. They are fun to see. The best time for viewing ostrich chicks is during the summer months. They grow quickly and will be juveniles by the time winter arrives. Emu chicks typically hatch in late-winter and early-spring. Next time you’re traveling through California, be sure to allow time for a stop at OstrichLand USA. It is a most friendly place and dogs are allowed. ------------------- ---------------------- --------------------------- ------------------- Thank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. I continually love to challenge people and in this video I challenge my wife to figure out what people do in an alley in San Luis Obispo and right off the bat she found the right concept but could not figure out the mystery item. Can you? https://youtu.be/qieEUydEjmQ #### About San Luis Obispo. ##### Halfway between San Francisco and L.A., San Luis Obispo can be a relaxing getaway or a buzz of activity. For serenity, pack a lunch and head to one of dozens of wineries or take a drive to the beach for a leisurely swim. For a dose of history, visit the heart of the city at the beautiful Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. Kids will love the Children’s Museum or Skate Park. Be sure to stroll along the creek downtown, where there are breweries, wine bars, restaurants and shopping for all tastes. ##### Thank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. Knott's Berry Farm is an excellent display of old west history, some real and some pretend. But everything there is fun and educational. Come see Ghost Town with Lou and Roadside Rick. Knott's Berry Farm is a 57-acre theme park located in Buena Park, California, owned and operated by Cedar Fair. In 2018, it was the twelfth-most-visited theme park in North America and averages approximately 4 million visitors per year. The park features 40 rides including roller coasters, family rides, dark rides and water rides. America's 1st Theme Park, California's Best Theme Park, The Friendliest Place in the West The Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in Orange County, California, originated from a berry farm owned by Walter Knott (1889–1981). In the 1920s, Knott and his wife, Cordelia, sold berries, berry preserves and pies from a roadside stand beside State Route 39, near the small town of Buena Park. In 1932, on a visit to Rudolph Boysen's farm in nearby Anaheim, Walter Knott was introduced to a new hybrid berry of a blackberry, a red raspberry, and a loganberry cross-bred by Boysen, who gave Walter his last six wilted berry-hybrid plants. Walter planted and cultivated them, then the family sold the berries at their roadside stand. When people asked what kind they were, he called them "boysenberries". In 1934, to make ends meet, Knott's wife Cordelia (1890–1974) reluctantly began serving fried chicken dinners on their wedding china. For dessert, Knott's signature Boysenberry Pie was also served to guests dining in the small tea room. As Southern California developed, Highway 39 became the major north-south connection between Los Angeles County and the beaches of Orange County, and the restaurant's location was a popular stopping point for drivers making the two-hour trip in those days before freeways. Until Interstate 605 and State Route 57 were built in the late 1960s, Highway 39 (now known in Orange County as Beach Boulevard) continued to carry the bulk of the traffic between eastern Los Angeles and Orange County. Great location and good value were the restaurant's conditions of success which attracted long lines of diners. Thank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. In 2018, it was the twelfth-most-visited theme park in North America and averages approximately 4 million visitors per year. The park features 40 rides including roller coasters, family rides, dark rides and water rides. America's 1st Theme Park, California's Best Theme Park, The Friendliest Place in the West\\n\\nThe Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in Orange County, California, originated from a berry farm owned by Walter Knott (1889–1981). In the 1920s, Knott and his wife, Cordelia, sold berries, berry preserves and pies from a roadside stand beside State Route 39, near the small town of Buena Park.\\n\\nIn 1932, on a visit to Rudolph Boysen's farm in nearby Anaheim, Walter Knott was introduced to a new hybrid berry of a blackberry, a red raspberry, and a loganberry cross-bred by Boysen, who gave Walter his last six wilted berry-hybrid plants. Walter planted and cultivated them, then the family sold the berries at their roadside stand. When people asked what kind they were, he called them \\\"boysenberries\\\".\\n\\nIn 1934, to make ends meet, Knott's wife Cordelia (1890–1974) reluctantly began serving fried chicken dinners on their wedding china. For dessert, Knott's signature Boysenberry Pie was also served to guests dining in the small tea room. \\n\\nAs Southern California developed, Highway 39 became the major north-south connection between Los Angeles County and the beaches of Orange County, and the restaurant's location was a popular stopping point for drivers making the two-hour trip in those days before freeways. Until Interstate 605 and State Route 57 were built in the late 1960s, Highway 39 (now known in Orange County as Beach Boulevard) continued to carry the bulk of the traffic between eastern Los Angeles and Orange County. Great location and good value were the restaurant's conditions of success which attracted long lines of diners.\\n\\nThank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. Are you hungry yet? You will be by the end of this video. Have food near you when watching or hop in the car and go. This, as usual, was an excellent chicken dinner from the restaurant that sells more chicken than any other in the world. Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Knott's Berry Farm is a 57-acre theme park located in Buena Park, California, owned and operated by Cedar Fair. You get to ride POV through the water troughs through the mountain and saw mill. Due to COVID-19 Knott's Berry Farm Amusement Park is closed and the park is silent. Knott's Market Place is open daily and the Chicken Dinner Restaurant has outdoor seating! The Timber Mountain Log Ride is a themed log flume water dark ride at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, United States. The ride is themed after the Knott's Calico Ghost Town. The ride is one of the oldest log flumes in the United States and is the most popular ride at Knott's Berry Farm Timber Mountain Log Ride opened on July 11, 1969 with John Wayne on its inaugural ride. At the age of ten, I rode the mountain the year it opened 1969. It was the most revolutionary ride I had been on and it still pleases me every time I ride it. On July 11, 2019, Knott's Berry Farm celebrated the 50th anniversary of the park's most popular ride: the Timber Mountain Log Ride. As part of the 50th anniversary, Knott's added 2 new audio anamontronics designed by Garner Holt. All 36 logs were retrofitted with individual seats (similar to Splash Mountain) as opposed to the lap sitting seat design. Most of the logs feature 3 or 4 individual seats. Another major improvement made to the ride was the addition of a soundtrack. An exclusive soundtrack was developed for the ride by Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies. The ride now features a soundtrack exclusively about the log ride, giving an much improved ride experience. Thank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. Due to COVID-19 Knott's Berry Farm is closed and the park is silent. So take a ride on the Pony Express as we wait for it to reopen. Knott's Market Place is open daily and the Chicken Dinner Restaurant has outdoor seating! Operated by Central Overland California and Pikes Peak Express Company, the Pony Express was a great financial investment to the U.S. During its 18 months of operation, it reduced the time for messages to travel between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts to about 10 days. Many people used the Pony Express as a communication link. It also encouraged catalogs to be created, allowing people to buy goods and have them brought by horse to the customers. It became the West's most direct means of east-west communication before the transcontinental telegraph was established (October 24, 1861), and was vital for tying the new U.S. state of California with the rest of the United States. Despite a heavy subsidy, the Pony Express was not a financial success and went bankrupt in eighteen months, when faster telegraph service was established. Nevertheless, it demonstrated that a unified transcontinental system of communications could be established and operated year-round. When replaced by the telegraph, the Pony Express quickly became romanticized and became part of the lore of the American West. Its reliance on the ability and endurance of individual young, hardy riders and fast horses was seen as evidence of rugged American individualism of the Frontier times. Today we only focus on his wonderfully tasty Boysenberry. We will see berry s on the vine and talk about the berry farm, and eat some of the tasty Boysenberry delicacies. So join us down on the farm. In the 1920s, Knott was a somewhat unsuccessful farmer whose fortunes changed when he nursed several abandoned berry plants back to health. The hybrid boysenberry, named after its creator, Rudolph Boysen, was a cross between a blackberry, red raspberry and loganberry. The huge berries were a hit, and the Knott family sold berries, preserves and pies from a Buena Park, California roadside stand. In 1934, Knott's wife Cordelia (née Hornaday, January 23, 1890 – April 12, 1974) began serving fried chicken dinners, and within a few years, lines outside the restaurant were often several hours long.[2] To entertain the waiting crowds, Walter built a Ghost Town in 1940, using buildings relocated from Old West towns. In 1940 Walter sent his son Russel to Twentynine Palms, California. Russel was helped by a local resident Daniel F. Leahy who took Russel to the Old Calico Ghost Town in the hills just northeast of Twentynine Palms. "Very soon after this visit Walter purchased a number of Calico's buildings. There were carefully disassembled, trucked, and reassembled in Buena Park." Thank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. Today we only focus on his wonderfully tasty Boysenberry. We will see berry s on the vine and talk about the berry farm, and eat some of the tasty Boysenberry delicacies. So join us down on the farm.\\n\\nIn the 1920s, Knott was a somewhat unsuccessful farmer whose fortunes changed when he nursed several abandoned berry plants back to health. The hybrid boysenberry, named after its creator, Rudolph Boysen, was a cross between a blackberry, red raspberry and loganberry. The huge berries were a hit, and the Knott family sold berries, preserves and pies from a Buena Park, California roadside stand. In 1934, Knott's wife Cordelia (née Hornaday, January 23, 1890 – April 12, 1974) began serving fried chicken dinners, and within a few years, lines outside the restaurant were often several hours long.[2]\\n\\nTo entertain the waiting crowds, Walter built a Ghost Town in 1940, using buildings relocated from Old West towns. In 1940 Walter sent his son Russel to Twentynine Palms, California. Russel was helped by a local resident Daniel F. Leahy who took Russel to the Old Calico Ghost Town in the hills just northeast of Twentynine Palms. \\\"Very soon after this visit Walter purchased a number of Calico's buildings. There were carefully disassembled, trucked, and reassembled in Buena Park.\\\" \\n\\nThank you for watching the Louinator59 channel and joining us for another episode. It had been years since I visited a county fair. I was amazed at the bacon wrapped turkey legs, sausages, frog legs, and fried everything. That's right they fry everything. Shoot you can even get a Crispy Cream triple decker hamburger. The fair is now a food mecca. Live stock, carnival rides, big Ferris wheels and a sky lift to see it all from the air. The Orange County fair is a California event worthy of your visit. What makes it so nice is the cooling ocean breezes.
