Strategy games have been a staple since the beginning of PC gaming, along with FPS and RPGs. Even though the real-time strategy games usually saw the most attention from gamers, turn-based games always managed to hold their space and one of the biggest franchises that have been consistently doing that is the Civilization series.\r\n\r\nCivilization games have always held a special place in my heart. Be it seeing your country rise through centuries or different victory conditions, it always has been one of the most addicting experiences. The doom of \"Just one more turn\" extended a 2-hour gaming session into an 8-hour one and it never comes close to being boring. The latest addition to the series, <a href=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/games-like-civilization/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Civilization 6</a> did just that, but of course, not without its flaws. But luckily, with the Australian Summer update, the game's modding tools and Steam Workshop support was finally given to us and we are starting to see the fruits of this.\r\n<h2><center><strong><em>13 Best Civ 6 Rise &amp; Fall Mods</em></strong></center></h2>\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>1. Production Queue</em></strong></h3>\r\n<center><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4760\" src=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Production-Queue.jpg\" alt=\"Best Civilization 6 mods\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" /></center><br/> This simple mod adds production queues to cities and to production menus on the upper-left screen. You can easily add something to the top or the bottom of the queue by clicking on and you can easily rearrange the queue by dragging and dropping.\r\n\r\nDownload <a href=\"https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095404815\">here.</a>\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>2. Yet (not) Another Maps Pack</em></strong></h3>\r\n<center><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4761\" src=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Yet-not-Another-Maps-Pack.jpg\" alt=\"Best Civilization 6 mods\" width=\"800\" height=\"451\" /></center><br/> As you can (not) understand from its name, this mod adds a bunch of new maps to the game. It features a lot of different maps such as variations of Europe and maps from other mods and also lets you start a game with a lot more Civilizations and adds true starting locations for the Real World maps.\r\n\r\nDownload <a href=\"https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=871861883\">here.</a>\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>3. Anno Domini</em></strong></h3>\r\n<center><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4762\" src=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Anno-Domini.jpg\" alt=\"Best Civilization 6 mods\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" /></center><br/> This total conversion mod covers ages from the Dawn of Time to the fall of the Roman Empire and you can play as one of the seventeen ancient world civilizations that are created specifically for this mod. If you want to play the game during ancient times, this is a great mod to do so.\r\n\r\nDownload <a href=\"http://www.annodomini.org.uk/\">here</a>.\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>4. Improved Water Yields</em></strong></h3>\r\n<center><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4763\" src=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Improved-Water-Yields.jpg\" alt=\"Best Civilization 6 mods\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" /></center><br/> This simple tweak makes island and port cities much more viable by adding more bonuses to different Harbor buildings and grants +2 food and +1 gold for adjacent City Center. But the last 2 entries were exceptionally good, those being the Original Sin and <a href=\"https://divinity.game/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Original Sin 2</a>. The latest addition, OS 2 is a masterpiece in almost every perspective and pays a great homage to the good old RPG games. It is deep, massive, story-driven, versatile and fun, but this does not mean that there are not any flaws or areas that can be improved. This is where the modding community came in. They range from simple quality of life changes to completely new classes, races, and overhauls. If you are overwhelmed by the hundreds of mods this game has, fear no more for we have come forth and made a list of the best Divinity: Original Sin 2 mods out there.\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>1. Hybrid Skills Expanded</em></strong></h3>\r\n<center><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4726\" src=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Hybrid-Skills-Expanded.jpg\" alt=\"Best Divinity 2 mods\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" /></center><br/> One of the cool features of Divinity 2 is that it lets you combine different skill books to create new ones. The problem is, the number of combination in the base game is not that high and not every combo you think that would work works. This is a mod that almost doubles the number of craftable skillbooks, by adding new hybrid spells with skill combinations that are not in the base game. This mod adds a completely new class that is focused on using spears and also adds new spear based skills, changes all spears to do piercing damage instead of phsyical and makes spears a little more common. These conversations are usually sources to many different jokes and quests. So you would be doing yourself a great disservice by not picking it. But such a great feature costs a skill point and this mod fixes that. This mod grants every party member the Pet Pal talent for free after character creation. Of course, since Divinity 2 is not originally designed that way, this causes some minor UI and dialogue errors but nothing major. Combat is also easier since you have %50 more people in your team so choosing a higher difficulty is advised.\r\n\r\nDownload <a href=\"https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1137971468\">here.</a>\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>6. Your characters will die, a lot. In the native game, you need to revive your team mates with Resurrection scrolls which are one-use items. This can quickly get frustrating since these scrolls are not that cheap and you have to run from vendor to vendor to get them. You won't probably notice it while adventuring 7/24, but after trying this mod, you will never play the game without it. This mod creates a timer which keeps track of the time of day and adds a day-night cycle. You can conjure weapons and explosions using your own blood and damage your enemies with Lacerated status which pierces armor.\r\n\r\nDownload <a href=\"https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1208854368\">here.</a>\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n\r\n<h3><strong><em>10. Its base form is a balanced melee fighter. But as you can understand from its name, this class can turn into a freaking dragon that can breathe fire, spit fireballs, fly, stomp enemies, stomp and terrify enemies. Crowley's Supernaturals</em></strong></h3>\r\n<center><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4737\" src=\"https://www.lyncconf.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Crowleys-Supernaturals.png\" alt=\"Best Divinity 2 mods\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" /></center><br/> If you tried every base race in the game or simply want more options when starting out, Crowley's Supernaturals mod adds 5 new supernatural races to the game, those being Fae, Nephilim, Source Witch, Vampire, Werewolf and Niffin. However, the problem is you have to manually use this skill every time you want to converse with spirits and the range is not that big and the duration is not long. So it is really easy to skip entire areas without using it, missing dialogues and quests. If you can interact with it in any way, be it picking it up, moving it, or searching its contents, you can now see what it is. Is that long, thick cord that looks like a rope, <em>really</em> a rope? And if you want the smoothest game play, run Minecraft on its own. Close all other apps, including your browser.<strong>Here are 10 kid-friendly Minecraft mods I think are pretty great, from both a design and learning perspective</strong>. The list includes sciency mods focused on geology or forestry, and mods that will amplify your child’s engineering, coding, and building super powers. Each of the sciency mods tackles scientific concepts in cool and accessible ways.I’ve also included a couple of mods that bring new kinds of creatures into the game, including Pokémon and sharks. Another populates Minecraft with scientifically accurate models of dinosaurs. All will offer your child new ways of interacting with a world they love — Minecraft.</p>\n<h3>PaleoCraft</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Dinosaurs</h3>\n<p>Minecraft with dinosaurs is pretty rad. This mod replaces all the animal life in vanilla Minecraft with the reptilian variety of creature, including giant prehistoric sharks. The mod’s claim to fame is its scientific accuracy. Dinosaurs come in all sizes and demeanor. Log into Minecraft, collect the materials you need to build a rocket ship and blast through the Earth’s atmosphere. Once in outer space you can travel to a bunch of different planets, build a station station, and drive around on the Moon. This mod brings space exploration to Minecraft, giving players a taste of just how hard it is to survive outside of Earth. <a href=\"https://micdoodle8.com/mods/galacticraft/downloads\">Download the Galacticraft mod here.</a></p>\n<h3>ComputerCraftEDU</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Computer programming</h3>\n<p>Learning to code in Minecraft sounds like a dream come true for many 10–13 year olds. ComputerCraftEDU makes this dream a reality by giving kids the tools to build in-game computers and turtle robots. Using a drag and drop interface they can create programs to automate their machines using the Lua programming language. The mod is easy to install and use and is accessible to kids who’ve never programmed before. We use it in <a href=\"https://connectedcamps.com/summer-camp\">our online coding camps</a>and recommend it to any parent whose child expresses an interest in learning to code</p>\n<h3>Mo’ Creatures Mod</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Animals</h3>\n<p>This mod populates Minecraft with a multitude of new species and creature types, making the world feel more vibrant and realistic. Early versions of Minecraft had only a few stock animals. While more have been added since, the game lacks real variety when it comes to its creatures. The Mo’ Creatures Mod remedies this, giving players the chance to ride, ranch, pet, and manage foxes, scorpions, jellyfish, goats, boars, komodo dragons, and more.</p>\n<h3>Redpower 2</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Circuitry</h3>\n<p>If your child has played around with redstone and is itching for more, Redpower 2 is a mod worth a look. The mod expands and improves on the functionality of redstone in Minecraft, allowing for more complex and compact circuit designs. You will be amazed at what can be created! The mod has its own power system and introduces multiple machines with functions as diverse as sorting items, breaking blocks, and detecting state changes.</p>\n<h3>BetterGeo</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Geology</h3>\n<p>BetterGeo is all about rocks, minerals and metal. A group from <a href=\"http://www.sgu.se/en/geology-of-sweden/bettergeo-minecraft-with-more-geology/\">the Geological Survey of Sweden</a> developed the mod, which adds both common and rare earth elements to the list of materials to be mined. There are new items you can craft (including rechargeable batteries!) and you can build display cases to show off the rare specimens you mine.</p>\n<h3>Buildcraft 3</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Mechanics</h3>\n<p>If your child loves to build complex machinery or is interested in what goes on “under the hood” then this is the mod to choose. BuildCraft 3 lets players experiment with a system of powered machines, pumps and tools. It also includes machines for automating tasks, and pipes for transportation of items, liquids, and energy.</p>\n<h3>Forestry</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Forestry and sustainability</h3>\n<p>Forestry is a mod all about farming and renewable energy production that also let’s you breed trees, bees, and butterflies. How cool is that? It is a large mod that introduces a lot of new items, machines, and ores into the game so there is a lot to explore.</p>\n<h3>Pixelmon Mod</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Pokémon</h3>\n<p>This is probably the cutest and most ambitious mod on the list. Pixelmon Mod turns Minecraft into a Pokémon adventure, complete with Pokémon battling, trading, and breeding. In order to battle players must purchase or craft Pokéballs, which can then be thrown at enemies. Kids literate in the world of Pokémon will take to this mod like fish to water.</p>\n<h3>Geostrata</h3>\n<h3>Focus: Geology</h3>\n<p>GeoStrata is another geology mod with a super science focus. If focuses on letting players create underground worlds, making mining and caves more interesting. The mod generates all of the rocks to be mined at realistic depths, in realistic biomes.
