It is also known as wood burning. A wood burning pen is a very simple tool that has a metal end that comes in a variety of different shapes and sizes and is heated using a power supply that enables the user to create patterns and designs on wood, bone and leather.\n\n![IMG_4146.JPG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW5WR7PZuSxcPGo9DoJJChQALcKRK9kBiGvfsHVutQNFC/IMG_4146.JPG)\n\nI have 4 pens that I use, a skew tip that is good for shading, a razor tip that is good for straight or slightly curving lines, a ball tip that is good for any type of line work that goes easily in any direction like lettering and a spoon shader that is great for shading in smooth gradient ares. There several dozen different pen tips available for purchase, as well you can custom make your own tips, however these are the 4 basic tips that can be used to do nearly any type of design your inspired to achieve.\n\nThe pens are connected to a 10 amp power supply via a RCA jack cable from which the pen temperature can be easily controlled providing softer or darker burning.\n\n![IMG_4168.JPG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWhU5rA1mbp3tZT2mL6PGXfYVTeP3HD3e82jVvccZp8nC/IMG_4168.JPG)\n\nFor this design, I am working on a 1/8 inch thick poplar board. Some cameras even offer a feature that allows you to superimpose the rule of thirds grid over the LCD screen, making it even easier to use and visualize the best frame to capture the ideal composition.\n\nI also find that using this technique creates a natural flow to a photo that gently pulls the viewers eye across the image. in an ideal composition, the viewers eye would be pulled in a continuous loop throughout each segment without the need to linger in any one area or stopping all together.\n\nPlacing your main subject off-center, also helps to create a more aesthetic image, although it can leave a void in the scene which can make it feel empty. This is why having some movement to fill this void, like the crashing wave in my “Stormy Lighthouse” photograph, can help to dissolve the empty appearance and enhance the overall mood as well.       "body": "When looking at any good photography our eye should be naturally drawn along \"lines\" that will ideally pull our attention throughout all aspects of the photograph without becoming stalled in any point in the image for too long. By thinking about how you place these leading lines in your composition, you can affect the way the viewer sees your image, pulling them into the photograph; towards the subject, or on a continual journey throughout the scene. There are various different types of line types that can be incorporated in your photography - straight, diagonal, curvy, zigzag, radial etc - each of which can be used to enhance your photographic composition.\n\nTake for example this photograph that I took of the Badlands in Cheltenham, Ontario. As you can see your eye is immediately pulled from the foreground of the image all the way up to the upper third where you find yourself among the trees surrounded by the sky. \n\n![Trybe Photography Tips 1.PNG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSMpLjmXvy7yF4egPpV7Nsi1eRdjY7gP39SYCBtfm74fn/Trybe%20Photography%20Tips%201.PNG)\n\nHere is another example of leading lines in this photograph that I took of a Ladybug on the shoreline of a beach. Your eye is initially drawn into the image by the large white rock in the foreground with a small ladybug on top.
