I hope you enjoy.\n\n![008.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQma47b9KyHki5T6KXFKsFi8JYSCgfZecith87PXPLY2iZZ/008.jpg)\n\n#1\n\nI wake up in the ER waiting\nIV hooked up, waiting for the nurse.\nLooking around, that harsh white light\nMixing with the smell of bleach\nDizzies my senses.\nI lay in the hospital bed waiting for food,\nWaiting to pee, waiting for clarity.\nScenes from the night before\nJump out at me like gremlins \nSneering at me as I sit;\nStripped of dignity in the lime green\nHospital gown.\nI sit waiting for an answer,\nStarring forward looking at the other\nPatients thinking that I don’t belong here.\nA scene kicks back of me licking my shoes,\nOf another catheter as it sucks up\nLike toothpaste out of a tube.\nI sit waiting here, unable to move without permission,\nThe security guard deems me a threat and the straps\nAre put back on. I sit waiting\nReading magazines from months before.\nI wait, sleep, watch and listen until\nFinally they transfer me to a psych ward.\nI wait for the ambulance,\nThey strap me in,\nShuttle me out.\nI wait as we drive.\nUpon arriving at the new hospital\nI lay out on the stretcher, strapped in and wrapped up\nLike a mummy waiting for admission,\nThey admit me,\nWeigh me,\nDraw some blood,\nThen I walk over to the day room\nSit and wait until dinner.\nAnother four days I wait in the psych ward,\nGet diagnosed with manic depression\nAnd wait to be discharged.\nThey discharge me.\nI leave, walk to buy cigarettes\nThen wait for the train,\nThe train comes.\nI wait in line at Marshalls to buy some new wool socks,\nThey’re warm on my bare feet.\nThen I walk to bored the Megabus,\nWait, and then bored.\nNow I sit on the bus\nWaiting to smoke to break up\nThe time I will wait to get home.\nI wait to wait\nUntil evening beckons,\nTill sleep overcomes\nAnd I begin to wait\nFor night time to come again.\n…",

One song left. Only here for three of them, \nCalled ‘Don’t be so sure’.\nThat intensifying dissonance,\nTwinkling aftermath,\nA man talking to himself,\nAn alien abduction,\nThe setting of the sun,\nJust keys,\nThe granite orange,\nThe purple orchid,\nThe pink linen,\nThe half circles across the ocean.\nThere’s five of us on the beach, a fire next to us, not needed for its heat. The rising moon, not crescent, but pregnant with love, with guidance, with hands that softly touch lighting the water, shining diamonds across the sea, the fish light up, the bioluminescent bay. Another concluding day wrapped so nicely, one of those magical days where tomorrow is not a problem and yesterday far. The five of us, the chorus of the gods, their last song.\nThe crowd slowly stretches and yawns,\nThe spell broken,\nBundling, jackets on,\nThe chatter builds,\nClanging of dishes,\nHectic explorative jazz over the speakers,\nStep, step, step, spin, the 1920’s alive through the static,\nFlapper girls and the such,\nA spell for three songs,\nNow broken,\nLike coming too,\nFor a brief moment I wasn’t in control,\nNow, time to finish my tea and head home.\nA cigarette rolled,\nBrace for the cold.\n\nThank you for reading! At times burning like a forest fire passing over a small village or coming softly and nigh but imperceptibly as a small stream drifting lazily over rock and stone. My search has been endless, my appetite voracious, but my teachers have been wisest. At different times I sought love, truth, passion and friendship, scavenging about me for crumbs of these eternal entities, salivating before beauty like some caged and emaciated animal. I ripped and shred about me all manner of matter, careless, thoughtless, but all the while those few bore me gently onward after my raging fits subsided. Each is so beautiful a thousand pages in a thousand books could not do justice, their keen eyes piercing through like strips of lighting jolting my heart back into rhythm. So many teachings come flooding to me as I continue onward, resolutely defiant to all the chatter that surrounds me, but following those simple and unassuming guideposts that were written in a language that you taught me to read.\n...\n\nThank you for reading! Just a bit of words on some of the amazing women in my life who without which i would not be around today.
