      "body": "![_99711759_closer.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWD3zVMsJaD1fDd82SQFANxeKMkPk67yA24R1YLGZ7dDZ/_99711759_closer.jpg)\nhe mystery of why a handful of cars were abandoned in a derelict car park in Edinburgh may have been solved.\n\nThe £5m Autosafe SkyPark used robots to stack cars and was dubbed the \"car park of the future\" - but went into receivership in 2003.\n\nAfter lying empty for more than a decade, the building in Morrison Street is now being demolished.\n\nAnd the work has uncovered eight cars which were left behind when the doors were closed.\n\nImages of the abandoned vehicles has sparked a number of theories about why they were never removed.\n\nBut a former employee has said they could be old vehicles which were bought by the car park's former operators to test out the robot equipment.\nTurntables and lifts\n\nThe state-of-the-art building was described as Britain's \"most technologically advanced car park\" when it opened its electronically-controlled doors in 2001.\n\nIt was nominated for awards for its innovative ideas in utilising its space for parking.\n\nDrivers would pull into bays and leave their cars to \"robots\", which would then scan the cars and take them to the nearest space via turntables and lifts.\n\nThe building housed 600 spaces and was based on similar technology used in China, Japan and Australia.\nBut it is believed the technology was difficult and expensive to maintain, and in 2003 the company went into receivership.\n\nUrban legend suggests the doors were simply closed one day, leaving several cars trapped inside.\n\nHaving been empty for more than a decade, work started last year to turn the site into a 122,000 sq ft office development by Glasgow-based BAM properties, on behalf of Hermes Investment Management.\n\nAs the demolition unfolded, the car mystery was sparked by a photo posted on sharing site Reddit by a worker in an office building facing the site.\n\nUser ieya404 said: \"I work in an adjacent building - and had no real idea of what it was before.\n\n\"As the outer shell of the building got cut off we could see the metal skeleton of the insides, and only as they've cut most away were the cars revealed.\"\nEarly days\n\nTheories about why the cars were left behind have ranged from people not being able to collect their cars from the closed-down facility, to people having a few drinks and leaving their cars there.\n\nHowever, the most likely explanation came from Ronnie Meredith, a bus driver from Edinburgh.\n\nHe worked in the Autosafe Skypark in 2001.\n\nHe said: \"When it first opened they did buy so many bangers for testing.\n\n\"We had a few scrap cars. I remember one being a Austin Maestro and we also had a Lada and a long wheel base Volvo.\n\n\"On numerous occasions when it broke down we either had to instruct the computer to retrieve a car from its position or physically go inside with what we called a joystick and manually retrieve a car.\"\n\nRonnie said that was why no one claimed the cars\n\n\"I find it funny how people think that these car were abandoned.\n\n\"Even if the place had its doors shut by administrators they would have still legally be entitled to retrieve their own personal vehicle.\n\n\"If anyone looked at the windscreens of these cars they would no doubt have noticed that none of them had a tax disc which was still a legal requirement back then if the car was being used on the road.\"\n\nA spokesperson for Hermes said: \"We can confirm that there are eight cars present at the car park on the Capital Square site, which have been there since the car park closed in 2003.\n\n\"The owners of the cars are unknown and they are now the property of the demolition company who will remove the cars once work begins on the levels on which they are located.\"",

      "body": "African Americans are largely the descendants of slaves. They are people who were brought from their African homelands by force to work in America. They had limited rights, and they were long denied from any progress in the United States. They share a history of enslavement and racial oppression. Therefore, it gives relevance to the initial bond of African heritage. There is an African American culture in America, and this culture is unique one. Culture interprets our surroundings for us and gives them meaning and allows us to express ourselves. Thus, we cannot express ourselves without a way of communication. I think language is the best way of communication. African Americans began to learn English as they born in America. But their English has some unique features from the Standard English according to The Oakland school board, In spite of having its unique systematic rules, African American Vernacular English suffers from stigma due to the history of race in America.\n\tAAVE came from south of America, and shares many features with Southern American English. It is apparent that African American English is closer to southern dialect of American English than other dialects. There are two theories about the linguistic origins of AAVE. These two theories are not fully proved by linguists. These two theories are just hypotheses because the history of the America has blocked the origins of the African dialect completely. Because of historical racism, we are left with hypotheses instead of documentation and proved theories.\n\tThe two hypotheses are Pidgin, and the Dialect Divergence Hypothesis (language in society p.427). The first is that contact between English speakers and among speakers of other languages led to the formation of pidgin language. During the seventeenth and eighteenth century, Africans who spoke by the different language were grouped together to opposes enslavement. In order to communicate, the slaves were agreed to use the one way of language all had access to. This language is English. They make a simple form form of English which is called pidgin .The second hypothesis is dialect of Southern American English which started to diverge in the 1700s and 1800s.The theory suggests that African American English acquired the language when African slaves learned English from their native American masters as a second language. Despite of the basic grammar was learned, many surfaces differences continued, which were appeared in grammar that put up by the children of the slaves, who heard a different form of English from their parents. Logically, if the children grew and speak Standard American English, they will speak the same way of language. On the other hand, if the children have been exposed to speak by southern dialect, the southern dialect will reflect and grew in their speaking because social and racial barriers blacks in America.\n\tThe African American dialect is the dialect spoken by the African American people. However, its speakers are not limited to the African Americans. Not all black Americans speak it. However, there are many non-African Americans speaks African American English. Many of them who speak it are adept at code-switching. They have the ability to switch between African American dialect and any other dialect. Also, it is important to notice that many critics believe that African American English is not spoken the same way everywhere, which I believe is true because of the regional variation in pronunciation. However, other critics oppose this belief. This issue is very complicated.",
