      "body": "We all have reasons for everything we tend to  do; whether the reasons are justifiable or not, one thing is sure, we all have reasons for every action or behaviour.\n\nPersonally and sincerely speaking, I gave up religion eight years ago given the fact that I have come to the realization that the development of any nation, is not a function of religion,religious belives or practicies. religion does not affect or transform the mind to think logically and objectively; rather, we are made to belief in superstitions and live in fear with the hell fire, brimstone message.\n\nwell,\n\n you might want to argue with me as some would say or used to say that region( be it christianity, islam or whatever) is a way of life, trying to imply that it is different from religion;for me, I totally will not be in agreement with that! *I still maintain my stand on the fact that the development any nation is never a function of religion*\n\nOk, let me assume that developed or developing nations like Britain, The USA, China, The Netherlands, Germany, Japan etc developed or are developing with religion playing a major part, the question then is *how come or why is it that we tend not to have any developed or developing society in AFRICA?* given that in Africa, we tend to value religion/traditions more than **education** as education is central for the development of any nation be it in any form. as it is through education, there can be **science** **technology** which are key factors that determine the level of development of any society.\n\nNow,looking at the african situation,using Nigeria as a case study. christainity and Islam are the two most dominant believes. christainity is mostly dominant in the southern & eastern regions while islam is dominant in the northern/western regions.![images(50).jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmardJqaZgrxDPiogNm2XX7VVqg3ZWVK52WuoEDu2ko57Z/images(50).jpg) it is in nigeria you have the largest auditorium(place of worship) such as the mosqu![images(59).jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmThnsbvCnRpoDz7CRD1gG5jnsPMTtoxuy6QzJLypRpYvt/images(59).jpg) and church![images(60).jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSEjieP9Smp9e5jvooKvMw3Z3r2hqsKVfgpDgkyDjirND/images(60).jpg) where billions is being spent to raise edifice and decoration of places of worship while the worshipers wallow in penury! with a false belief of being rewarded when they die in some abstract places.\n\nin as much as I dont believe or practice any religion, it does not mean I dont believe there is a God.
