Most of the western world would be familiar with the MI MIX "The bezelless Beauty". Yup that's the company with phones with its underrated specs at a very very reasonable price. Just an overview how the device looks:(PICS JUST FOR REFERENCE) The CORE technical Specifications:NETWORK Technology GSM / HSPA / LTE BODY>>>Dimensions 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm (5.94 x 2.99 x 0.33 in) Weight>>>165 g (5.82 oz) SIM>>> Hybrid Dual SIM (Micro-SIM/Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) DISPLAY>>>Type IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen Size>>5.5 inches (~72.7% screen-to-body ratio) Resolution>>>1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density) - MIUI 8.0(Im having MIUI 9 already) Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), upgradable to 7.0 (Nougat) Chipset>>>Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 CPU Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 GPU Adreno 506(If someone is curious) MEMORY up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) Internal 64 GB, 4 GB RAM CAMERA Primary 13 MP, Video 1080p@30fps, 720p@120fps, Secondary 5 MP, 1080p 3.5mm jack Infrared port FEATURES Sensors>>>Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass BATTERY>>>Non-removable 4100 mAh battery Price $200 Now my PERSONAL opinion: 1.First of all the Aluminum unibody design feels so so so satisfying .(Maybe I was using iPhone 4 before thats why): 2.The screen has a size of 5.5 inches and has 1080P resolution(Definitely better than iPhone 4).The phone feels quite slim in my opinion but is hefty due to its metal build. 3.The Snapdragon 625 chipset has better battery efficiency and better performance than Redmi note 3, thanks to a more advanced manufacturing process. 4.I have the 4GB RAM variant with inbuilt 64 GB memory thats more than sufficient considering that I use phone for whatsapp and other small tasks only.(Alarm and maybe camera incase you guys are wondering); 5.The Camera quality is good considering its a 13 MegaPixels and the front is of 5MP which is good.(I will always look bad even if its of 100 MP -Immortal ) (PHOTO JUST FOR REFERENCE) (THIS ONE IS REAL THOUGH) 6.The battery is just phenomenal which almost lasts me for 2 days and even 3 day at times( Sometimes it gets lost somewhere in my bedroom) 7.It has a Fingerprint sensor on the back which is very accurate and makes me feel special.(Just because of my finger though) 8.It supports a hybrid dual SIM card slot ,which means that I can only use 1 SIM if I decide to insert memory card Conclusion: 1. I will still remain Single though I bought a new phone. 2. This is very good Phone with excellent bulid quality and I recommend you to try this cheap piece of machinery. With this I end the review and hope you have great investing returns and a good day as well. My iPhone condition (JUST FOR REFERENCE) |

| body | Since 2008, bitcoin adoption has been influenced by a diverse range of factors that have made it one of the most volatile currencies in the world. Yet, despite such volatility, more than 100,000 bitcoin transactions are taking place per day and the volume continues to grow due to the ‘permissionless innovation’ provided by bitcoin’s underlying technology, the blockchain. As the blockchain matures, bitcoin will increasingly resemble traditional financial services, with functions such as retail banking (Circle), exchanges (Coinbase) and payment processors (bitnet) being created. But how did it all start off, and where will it go next? Here, we take a brief overview of the major milestones in the cryptocurrency’s brief history and look to where it might be headed in the future. August 2008 Three individuals, Neal Kin, Vladimir Oksman, and Charles Bry file an application for an encryption patent application. All three individuals deny having any connection to Satoshi Nakamoto, the alleged originator of the Bitcoin concept. The three also register the site Bitcoin.org in the same month, over on anonymousspeech.com – which allows people to buy domain names anonymously. October 2008 Despite the above, Satoshi Nakamoto releases his white paper, revealing his idea for a purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash to the world. In his vision, he manages to solve the problem of money being copied, providing a vital foundation for Bitcoin to grow legitimately. January 2009 The first block, nicknamed ‘Genesis’ is launched allowing the initial ‘mining’ of Bitcoins to take place. Later that month, the first transaction takes place between Satoshi and Hal Finney, a developer and cryptographic activist. October 2009 Bitcoin receives an equivalent value in traditional currencies. The New Liberty Standard established the value of a Bitcoin at $1 = 1,309 BTC. The equation was derived so as to include the cost of electricity to run the computer that created the Bitcoins in the first place. Hong Kong's First Bitcoin Counter Opens To The Public February 2010 The world’s first Bitcoin market is established by the now defunct dwdollar. May 2010 A programmer living in Florida named Laslo Hanyecz sends 10,000BTC to a volunteer in England, who spent about $25 to order Hanyecz a pizza from Papa John’s. Today that pizza is valued at £1,961,034 and stands as a major milestone in Bitcoin’s history. August 2010 Bitcoin is hacked. A vulnerability in how the system verifies the value of Bitcoin is discovered, leading to the generation of 184 billion Bitcoins. The value of the currency – from a high of $0.80 to $1 in June drops through the floor. October 2010 Bitcoin goes under the spotlight. After the hack in August – and a subsequent discovery of other vulnerabilities in the blockchain in September – an inter-governmental group publishes a report on money laundering using new payment methods. Bitcoin, it suggested could help people finance terrorist groups. November 2010 Bitcoin reaches $1 million. Based on the number of Bitcoins in circulation at the time, the valuation leads to a surge in Bitcoin value to $0.50/BTC. Utah Software Engineer Mints Physical Bitcoins January 2011 The Silk Road, an illicit drugs marketplace is established, using Bitcoin as an untraceable way to buy and sell drugs online. February 2011 Bitcoin reaches parity with the US dollar for the first time. By June each Bitcoin is worth $31 giving the currency a market cap of $206 million. June 2013 The first major theft takes place. Bitcoin Forum founder allinvain reports having 25,000 BTC taken from his digital wallet, which had an equivalent value of $375,000. In the same month, a major breach of security sees the value of the currency go from $17.51 to $0.01 per Bitcoin. March 2013 The US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) issues some of the world’s first bitcoin regulation in the form of a guidance report for persons administering, exchanging or using virtual currency. This marked the beginning of an ongoing debate on how best to regulate bitcoin. March 2013 Bitcoin market capitalisation reaches $1bn. 2120x1192_adafruit_bitcoin_banner-1 August 2013 Federal Judge Mazzant claims: “It is clear that Bitcoin can be used as money” and “It can be used to purchase goods or services” in a case against Trendon Shavers, the so-called ‘Bernie Madoff of bitcoin’. Bloomberg begins testing bitcoin data on its terminal. Although alternative tickers exist, endorsement from Bloomberg gives bitcoin more institutional legitimacy. November 2013 Bitcoin price climbs to $700 in as the US Senate holds its first hearings on the digital currency. The Federal Reserve chairman at the time, Ben Bernanke, gives his blessing to bitcoin. In his letter to the Senate homeland security and government affairs committee, Bernanke states that bitcoin “may hold long-term promise, particularly if the innovations promote a faster, more secure and more efficient payment system”. December 2013 China’s central bank bars financial institutions from handling bitcoin transactions. This ban was issued after the People’s Bank of China said bitcoin is not a currency with “real meaning” and does not have the same legal status as fiat currency. The ban reflects the risk bitcoin poses to China’s capital controls and financial stability. Today China remains the world’s biggest bitcoin trader, with 80% of global bitcoin transactions being processed in China. bitcoin-crop January 2014 Bitcoin custodians Elliptic launch the world’s first insured bitcoin storage service for institutional clients. All deposits are comprehensively insured by a Fortune 100 insurer and held in full reserve. This means Elliptic never re-invests client assets; instead they secure them in deep cold storage. Overstock.com becomes the first major online retailer to embrace bitcoin, accepting payments in the US. Overstock was the first in what is now an expeditiously growing list of large businesses that accept bitcoin. February 2014 HMRC classifies bitcoin as assets or private money, meaning that no VAT will be charged on the mining or exchange of bitcoin. This is important as it is the world’s first and most progressive treatment of bitcoin, positioning the UK government as the most forward thinking and comprehensive with regard to bitcoin taxation. June 2014 The US government auctions off more than 29,000 bitcoins seized from the Silk Road, the illegal online marketplace. The sale and closure of the marketplace marks growing institutional understanding of the potential use cases of bitcoin. Additionally, the closure and auction of the Silk Road has helped bitcoin gain legitimacy as it demonstrates that bitcoin is not an easy way for online criminals to avoid the rule of law. From this point onwards bitcoin can no longer be considered as a currency for criminals. The use of the bitcoin blockchain means that the identity of users can often be established. July 2014 The ‘Bit Licence’ edges towards reality as the New York State Department of Financial Services releases the first draft of the agency’s proposed rules for regulating virtual currencies. The European Banking Authority publishes its opinion on ‘virtual currencies’. Their analytical report recommends that EU legislators consider declaring virtual currency exchanges as ‘obliged entities’ must comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing requirements. Bitcoin_accepted_here_printable The EBA report is important as it acts as a catalyst to launch bitcoin into the financial mainstream by highlighting the fact that virtual currencies require a regulatory approach to strive for an international coordination to achieve a successful regulatory regime. Also that month GABI (Global Advisors Bitcoin Investment Fund) launches the world’s first regulated Bitcoin Investment fund. This is important to the bitcoin ecosystem as the launch of this investment vehicle adds further legitimacy to bitcoin in addition to allowing regulated investors a way to invest in bitcoin. August 2014 The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, demonstrates his and HM Treasury’s positive outlook on bitcoin when he purchases £20 worth of bitcoin and announces HM Treasury’s Call for Information on digital currencies, offering digital currency businesses the chance to comment on the risks and benefits and potentially influence future government policy. October 2014 TeraExchange announces that the first bitcoin derivative transaction was executed on a regulated exchange, adding a new hedging instrument to bitcoin and instilling credibility and institutional confidence in the entire bitcoin community. December 2014 Tech giant Microsoft begins accepting bitcoin payments. January 2015 The New York Stock Exchange is a minority investor in Coinbase’s $75M funding round. The NYSE aims to tap into the new asset class by bringing transparency, security and confidence to bitcoin. March 2015 The results of the UK Treasury’s call for information on digital currency are announced. And the rest is history........... |

"body": "Since 2008, bitcoin adoption has been influenced by a diverse range of factors that have made it one of the most volatile currencies in the world. Yet, despite such volatility, more than 100,000 bitcoin transactions are taking place per day and the volume continues to grow due to the ‘permissionless innovation’ provided by bitcoin’s underlying technology, the blockchain.\n\nAs the blockchain matures, bitcoin will increasingly resemble traditional financial services, with functions such as retail banking (Circle), exchanges (Coinbase) and payment processors (bitnet) being created. But how did it all start off, and where will it go next? Here, we take a brief overview of the major milestones in the cryptocurrency’s brief history and look to where it might be headed in the future.\n\nAugust 2008\nThree individuals, Neal Kin, Vladimir Oksman, and Charles Bry file an application for an encryption patent application. All three individuals deny having any connection to Satoshi Nakamoto, the alleged originator of the Bitcoin concept. The three also register the site Bitcoin.org in the same month, over on anonymousspeech.com – which allows people to buy domain names anonymously.\nOctober 2008\nDespite the above, Satoshi Nakamoto releases his white paper, revealing his idea for a purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash to the world. In his vision, he manages to solve the problem of money being copied, providing a vital foundation for Bitcoin to grow legitimately.\n\nJanuary 2009\nThe first block, nicknamed ‘Genesis’ is launched allowing the initial ‘mining’ of Bitcoins to take place. Later that month, the first transaction takes place between Satoshi and Hal Finney, a developer and cryptographic activist.\n\nOctober 2009\nBitcoin receives an equivalent value in traditional currencies. The New Liberty Standard established the value of a Bitcoin at $1 = 1,309 BTC. The equation was derived so as to include the cost of electricity to run the computer that created the Bitcoins in the first place.\n\n\nHong Kong's First Bitcoin Counter Opens To The Public\nFebruary 2010\nThe world’s first Bitcoin market is established by the now defunct dwdollar.\n\nMay 2010\nA programmer living in Florida named Laslo Hanyecz sends 10,000BTC to a volunteer in England, who spent about $25 to order Hanyecz a pizza from Papa John’s. Today that pizza is valued at £1,961,034 and stands as a major milestone in Bitcoin’s history.\n\nAugust 2010\nBitcoin is hacked. A vulnerability in how the system verifies the value of Bitcoin is discovered, leading to the generation of 184 billion Bitcoins. The value of the currency – from a high of $0.80 to $1 in June drops through the floor.\n\nOctober 2010\nBitcoin goes under the spotlight. After the hack in August – and a subsequent discovery of other vulnerabilities in the blockchain in September – an inter-governmental group publishes a report on money laundering using new payment methods. Bitcoin, it suggested could help people finance terrorist groups.\n\nNovember 2010\nBitcoin reaches $1 million. Based on the number of Bitcoins in circulation at the time, the valuation leads to a surge in Bitcoin value to $0.50/BTC.\n\n\nUtah Software Engineer Mints Physical Bitcoins\nJanuary 2011\nThe Silk Road, an illicit drugs marketplace is established, using Bitcoin as an untraceable way to buy and sell drugs online.\n\nFebruary 2011\nBitcoin reaches parity with the US dollar for the first time. By June each Bitcoin is worth $31 giving the currency a market cap of $206 million.\n\nJune 2013\nThe first major theft takes place. Bitcoin Forum founder allinvain reports having 25,000 BTC taken from his digital wallet, which had an equivalent value of $375,000. In the same month, a major breach of security sees the value of the currency go from $17.51 to $0.01 per Bitcoin.\n\nMarch 2013\nThe US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) issues some of the world’s first bitcoin regulation in the form of a guidance report for persons administering, exchanging or using virtual currency. This marked the beginning of an ongoing debate on how best to regulate bitcoin. \n\nMarch 2013\nBitcoin market capitalisation reaches $1bn.\n\n\n2120x1192_adafruit_bitcoin_banner-1\nAugust 2013\nFederal Judge Mazzant claims: “It is clear that Bitcoin can be used as money” and “It can be used to purchase goods or services” in a case against Trendon Shavers, the so-called ‘Bernie Madoff of bitcoin’. Bloomberg begins testing bitcoin data on its terminal. At least that's the message the Emerging Citizen Technology (ECT) program, an inter-agency working group within the U.S. government, is now seeking to deliver to blockchain entrepreneurs and businesses. Today, representatives from government agencies and the private sector will convene to draft the Fourth U.S. National Plan of Action for Open Government – a set of goals and deliverables on how blockchain, artificial intelligence and smart automation can be leveraged to improve bureaucracies and bring antiquated IT systems up to speed. | body | My name is Anonymous, When an obscure cryptocurrency with a total market cap of approximately $14m skyrockets to over $400m, people take notice. But, when that cryptocurrency forms the backbone of a social media entity rewarding people for creating content, sometimes with thousands or tens of thousands of dollars for single posts, excitement and skepticism ensues. Launched in March and gaining prominence in July, Steemit, a self-described "blockchain-based social media platform", has seen this level of notoriety in just its first few months of operation. To date, it has polarized blockchain experts while winning scores of newcomers to the technology. The brain-child of Daniel Larimer, founder of BitShares, and Ned Scott, a former financial analyst, Steemit aims to provide a place for individuals to create content, promote the content they believe is good and comment on stories — all while earning money. But Steemit is more than just a website for earning spare change. It’s an actual blockchain built on a piece of technology developed by Larimer called Graphene, which allows for the deployment of application-specific blockchains. Scott, in interview with CoinDesk, explained that the team only had the idea for Steemit back in January and, because of the Graphene framework, they were able to quickly roll the project out. The rest, like most things in the blockchain space, is a bit difficult to explain. The pop For the first few months, there wasn’t much talk about Steemit. While there were early miners and people contributing content, the real big bang didn’t come until 4th July. When the dam opened, $1.3m worth of stored-up blockchain-based currency called "steem" was released to those that had been participating on the platform. Scott explained that, while all of the blog posts, comments and upvotes that had occurred on the site pre-July 4th were all on the blockchain, the rewards users had been promised for their contributions had not been distributed. The underlying idea was that the team wanted to continue testing the platform, finding bugs and fixing them prior to a rush of new people signing up. He cautioned that, no matter how diligent the development team is, there are going to be bugs and that they wanted to ensure that Steemit was safe and secure for everyone. Nevertheless, 4th July was a day that they had all been looking forward to. And with that pop, users who had been watching their balances rise were instantly rewarded. One currency, two smart contracts Part of the confusion with Steemit lies in the different ways that the currency is presented to users. At the root is the currency Steem, which is the typical transferrable, fungible, freely moveable token akin to bitcoin, ethereum or any other cryptocurrency. But that same Steem can be put into two different types of smart contracts depending on the particular utility an individual wants. The first is called Steem Power, which provides utility and leverage. Steem Power is the backbone of an account's voting-potential. In other words, the more Steem Power an individual has, the stronger their vote is on Steemit. Scott explained that the team wanted to provide a mechanism by which individuals could take a long-term interest in the project, while allowing others to continue with their speculation. In the white paper, Steem Power is compared to long-term capital commitments, similar to what a venture capitalist might do. While users can invest their money instantly, there is an expectation that it will take time to see a return on that investment. In the case of Steem Power, should a user want to convert back to the base currency of Steem, it will need to occur in 104 weekly conversions. The second smart contract is called Steem Dollars. This is a debt-like instrument that promises to distribute $1 worth of Steem to the token holder at some point in the future. This seven-day conversion process is meant to minimize the ability to create arbitrage attacks by market timers. If the Steem Dollars were convertible to Steem immediately, a user could take advantage of a difference in price, convert their Steem Dollars into regular Steem and earn more than the $1 worth the smart contract intended for it. Because it is a stable debt instrument, users who hold Steem Dollars miss out on any Steem price increases. If Steem is worth $1 and this conversion took place, the individual would receive 1 Steem for every Steem Dollar they owned. If Steem rose to $2, the individual would receive 0.5 Steem for every Steem Dollar they owned. To compensate for the locked value, Steem Dollars accrue interest. At time of story, users that hold Steem Dollars will earn 10% a year in interest, paid out in Steem Dollars. Rewards for writing and curating There are two methods of earning Steem on Steemit. The first is by writing a blog post. As that blog post accrues votes, the amount of Steem that will be distributed to the writer increase. However, every vote on the site is not worth a flat amount of money. Instead, the amount earned is based on both the number of votes an individual receives and the amount of Steem Power a voter has. For example, if one user had 1,000 Steem Power and another had 10,000 Steem Power, it's clear that the latter has a more powerful account than the former. The effect of each of those two people voting on a piece of content is not equal; specifically, the user with 10,000 Steem Power's vote is worth more. This has resulted in the development of a sort of whale chasing culture, whereby writers hope to convince the large Steem Power holders to give them upvotes. A vote by Scott or Larimer has been seen to increase the value of a post by hundreds of dollars, resulting in a pile-on effect where others chase the post. To incentivize this sort of voting, there is also the curation reward paid out in the form of Steem Power. If a post does well, you earn more Steem Power than if a post doesn’t do well, thus incentivizing you to only vote for content that you believe is high quality. Further, not every vote from the same account is equal in value. Voting on multiple pieces of content reduces the strength of each of your votes depending on how much time passes between each vote. Scott explained voting power by comparing it to certain video games. There are two reward pool distributions. The first is approximately 12 hours after the post has been submitted. The reward, denominated in US dollars, is released to the writer divided evenly between Steem Power and Steem Dollars. Voters receive the reward entirely in Steem Power. The second reward pool distribution occurs one month later. Delegated proof-of-stake A blockchain without security is not one anyone would have faith in. Steemit gains its security from a delegated proof-of-stake algorithm, first developed for Larimer's BitShares project, which is a variation of proof-of-stake. A true proof-of-stake algorithm, such as peercoin, relies on those who hold the currency to verify transactions. The more currency held by a wider variety of people, the more secure the network is. In a delegated proof-of-stake system, the community votes for individuals, called witnesses, to be responsible for verifying transactions. The easiest way to think about it is proof-of-stake is true democracy similar to ancient Athens. Delegated proof-of-stake is more of a democratic republic, such as the US. By that logic, witnesses are like Congressmen, elected by the community to be responsible for securing the network. However, the analogy ends there, because witnesses can be kicked out of their job for not doing it, something the US Congress has been immune to for some time. In total, there are 21 witnesses responsible for creating and signing blocks of transactions each time a block is made. The first 19 are voted for, as described above. Then there is a 20th witness, which is a random witness who might not have been in the top 19. The 21st witness is a miner doing typical proof-of-work. In the Steemit white paper, the authors write: "This process is designed to provide the best reliability while ensuring that everyone has the potential to participate in block production regardless of whether they are popular enough to get voted to the top." New, but growing Since catapulting in value to over $400m, Steem has cooled to an approximate market-cap of $157m, but this still makes it one of the six largest cryptocurrencies on the space. While there are certainly naysayers, the reality is that Steemit continues to see more people signing up and participating. However, it’s not simply Steemit the social media site, but also the blockchain that has experienced tremendous growth. Scott said that entrepreneurs and developers have already created 50 different tools, such as Catch a Whale (which tracks where whales have recently voted) and SteemMarket (which lets users buy, sell and rent goods with Steem). Whether they stick around past the excitement, though, remains to be seen. If the stories of people paying off bills, buying family members washing machines and going on vacations is any indication, Steemit might have found a niche for content creators looking for ways to generate income. Disclosure: The author posted several articles on Steemit in conjunction with writing the report, for which he earned $2,400 in Steem. |

"body": "My name is Anonymous,\n\nWhen an obscure cryptocurrency with a total market cap of approximately $14m skyrockets to over $400m, people take notice.\n\nBut, when that cryptocurrency forms the backbone of a social media entity rewarding people for creating content, sometimes with thousands or tens of thousands of dollars for single posts, excitement and skepticism ensues.\n\nLaunched in March and gaining prominence in July, Steemit, a self-described \"blockchain-based social media platform\", has seen this level of notoriety in just its first few months of operation. To date, it has polarized blockchain experts while winning scores of newcomers to the technology.\n\nThe brain-child of Daniel Larimer, founder of BitShares, and Ned Scott, a former financial analyst, Steemit aims to provide a place for individuals to create content, promote the content they believe is good and comment on stories — all while earning money.\n\nBut Steemit is more than just a website for earning spare change.\n\nIt’s an actual blockchain built on a piece of technology developed by Larimer called Graphene, which allows for the deployment of application-specific blockchains.\n\nScott, in interview with CoinDesk, explained that the team only had the idea for Steemit back in January and, because of the Graphene framework, they were able to quickly roll the project out.\n\nThe rest, like most things in the blockchain space, is a bit difficult to explain.\n\nThe pop\n\nFor the first few months, there wasn’t much talk about Steemit.\n\nWhile there were early miners and people contributing content, the real big bang didn’t come until 4th July. When the dam opened, $1.3m worth of stored-up blockchain-based currency called \"steem\" was released to those that had been participating on the platform.\n\nScott explained that, while all of the blog posts, comments and upvotes that had occurred on the site pre-July 4th were all on the blockchain, the rewards users had been promised for their contributions had not been distributed. The underlying idea was that the team wanted to continue testing the platform, finding bugs and fixing them prior to a rush of new people signing up.\n\nHe cautioned that, no matter how diligent the development team is, there are going to be bugs and that they wanted to ensure that Steemit was safe and secure for everyone.\n\nNevertheless, 4th July was a day that they had all been looking forward to.\n\n\nAnd with that pop, users who had been watching their balances rise were instantly rewarded.\n\nOne currency, two smart contracts\n\nPart of the confusion with Steemit lies in the different ways that the currency is presented to users.\n\nAt the root is the currency Steem, which is the typical transferrable, fungible, freely moveable token akin to bitcoin, ethereum or any other cryptocurrency. But that same Steem can be put into two different types of smart contracts depending on the particular utility an individual wants.\n\nThe first is called Steem Power, which provides utility and leverage. Steem Power is the backbone of an account's voting-potential. In other words, the more Steem Power an individual has, the stronger their vote is on Steemit.\n\nScott explained that the team wanted to provide a mechanism by which individuals could take a long-term interest in the project, while allowing others to continue with their speculation. In the white paper, Steem Power is compared to long-term capital commitments, similar to what a venture capitalist might do.\n\nWhile users can invest their money instantly, there is an expectation that it will take time to see a return on that investment.\n\nIn the case of Steem Power, should a user want to convert back to the base currency of Steem, it will need to occur in 104 weekly conversions.\n\nThe second smart contract is called Steem Dollars. This is a debt-like instrument that promises to distribute $1 worth of Steem to the token holder at some point in the future.\n\nThis seven-day conversion process is meant to minimize the ability to create arbitrage attacks by market timers. If the Steem Dollars were convertible to Steem immediately, a user could take advantage of a difference in price, convert their Steem Dollars into regular Steem and earn more than the $1 worth the smart contract intended for it.\n\nBecause it is a stable debt instrument, users who hold Steem Dollars miss out on any Steem price increases. If Steem is worth $1 and this conversion took place, the individual would receive 1 Steem for every Steem Dollar they owned. If Steem rose to $2, the individual would receive 0.5 Steem for every Steem Dollar they owned.\n\nTo compensate for the locked value, Steem Dollars accrue interest. At time of story, users that hold Steem Dollars will earn 10% a year in interest, paid out in Steem Dollars.\n\nRewards for writing and curating\n\nThere are two methods of earning Steem on Steemit.\n\nThe first is by writing a blog post. As that blog post accrues votes, the amount of Steem that will be distributed to the writer increase.\n\nHowever, every vote on the site is not worth a flat amount of money. Instead, the amount earned is based on both the number of votes an individual receives and the amount of Steem Power a voter has.\n\nFor example, if one user had 1,000 Steem Power and another had 10,000 Steem Power, it's clear that the latter has a more powerful account than the former. The effect of each of those two people voting on a piece of content is not equal; specifically, the user with 10,000 Steem Power's vote is worth more.\n\nThis has resulted in the development of a sort of whale chasing culture, whereby writers hope to convince the large Steem Power holders to give them upvotes. A vote by Scott or Larimer has been seen to increase the value of a post by hundreds of dollars, resulting in a pile-on effect where others chase the post.\n\nTo incentivize this sort of voting, there is also the curation reward paid out in the form of Steem Power. If a post does well, you earn more Steem Power than if a post doesn’t do well, thus incentivizing you to only vote for content that you believe is high quality.\n\nFurther, not every vote from the same account is equal in value. Voting on multiple pieces of content reduces the strength of each of your votes depending on how much time passes between each vote. Scott explained voting power by comparing it to certain video games.\n\n\nThere are two reward pool distributions.\n\nThe first is approximately 12 hours after the post has been submitted. The reward, denominated in US dollars, is released to the writer divided evenly between Steem Power and Steem Dollars. Voters receive the reward entirely in Steem Power. The second reward pool distribution occurs one month later.\n\nDelegated proof-of-stake\n\nA blockchain without security is not one anyone would have faith in.\n\nSteemit gains its security from a delegated proof-of-stake algorithm, first developed for Larimer's BitShares project, which is a variation of proof-of-stake. | body | I am Anonymous, and I think of pouring money into cryptocurrencies as an accessible scheme of a venture investment. U.S. regulations prohibit an investor from purchasing ownership interests in companies that are not publicly listed on a stock exchange — unless he / she has at least $200K of a yearly income. This is very unfortunate and closes those great instruments from the general population. Cryptocurrency investment, on the other hand, is not currently regulated by SEC — or similar agencies. Keeping this in mind, investing in Ethereum development in middle-2014 has been extremely similar to a venture investment. And, well, it played out — allowing ETH team to grow rapidly. Any investment may grow by a huge factor. Or, it may become worth nothing. It’s your take whether to follow the advice, or to ignore it. There are many cryptos out there which are just sophisticated ponzi schemes decided to enrich their creators. Similarly, currencies which do not bring any innovations to the table have been excluded from the list. The simplified list: 1 .Ethereum(ETH): Current Rate: $292.76 Exp Rate at End of 2017:$500 2.Monero(XMR): Current Rate: $116.92 Exp Rate at End of 2017:$350 3.Ripple(XRP) : Current Rate: $0.208683 Exp Rate at End of 2017:~$1 4.STEEM(STEEM) : Current Rate: $1.39 Exp Rate at End of 2017:$10 5.NEO(NEO): Current Rate: $24.23 Exp Rate at End of 2017:$70 6:BitShares(BTS): Current Rate: $0.113508 Exp Rate at End of 2017:~$0.6 7.Basic Attention token: Current Rate: $0.205816 (BAT) Exp Rate at End of 2017:~$0.8 8.Litecoin(LTC): Current Rate: $66.67 Exp Rate at End of 2017: $120 9.OmniseGo(OMG) : Current Rate: $11.38 Exp Rate at End of 2017: $30 10.Tether(USDT) : Current Rate: $1.04 Exp Rate at End of 2017:~$9 Start investing in cryptocurrencies before its late...<<<<<<< please suggest any do’s or don’ts.
