| body | # Early Beginnings April 2017 was the first in a long time I heard about Bitcoin again. A co-worker mentioned it, and I recalled my brother mentioning it to me some years back. Apparently, this weird little “coin” I readily discarded as a useless digital gizmo had spawned thousands of offspring, and went on to grow to be worth over $2000,- in just a few years’ time. Did I wish I’d bought a handful of them! But alas, like many others, I did not. Taking a closer look at what exactly was going on, there appeared to be some possible hidden gems amidst its offspring, and I thought I’d spend a few hundred here and there. Create a little portfolio. Weeks went by, and nothing much came off it. Coins were mooning left and right, but not mine. So, I figured, back to the drawing board! Coinmarketcap showed pretty much the same pattern on all coins; they would initially have a slight price bump after release, then drop down a little, then take off to the moon. Unreleased coins seemed to be the only option. So, an ICO it was. I set off to ICO review websites, opened 20 tabs at a time and took my first look at their websites. The quality of the website alone was my first requirement. If I didn’t like the website, I’d close the tab and go on to the next one. Next up was the idea. If the summary was satisfying, I would move on to the whitepaper. Only one coin made it through my self-imposed criteria: The Obsidian Platform. To me, it seemed like this was the one and only coin that had a legitimate use case for the decentralization provided by Cryptocurrency. And so I bought in. I had no idea I bought into a strange future that would change my life. # An Active Community Member I did not have much savings lying around. I bought as much in the ICO I could afford, which amounted to some 4,500 ODN. I never was one for online communities, and if I ever joined one I would mostly lurk. The coin distribution seemed to take a little longer than it should have, and thus the time came to join this one. They had a Slack channel I promptly joined to see what was going on. The moment I joined I was welcomed by a lot of people, including the Obsidian Community Leader, Sagemark. Apparently, I was the 1450th person to join. But the welcome had nothing to do with a milestone. Every single person after me was welcomed in a similar manner. It felt like a welcoming place. But, as is typical for me, I didn’t say much more than the initial hellos. After some digging in the chat’s history, I found an explanation for why the coin distribution took some time. The answer was satisfactory, and back into the lurking shadows I went. Right up until the point people came in with questions. After my personal vetting process, I was well-read in the project. I had all the answers at the ready anyway, and the few I did not, I knew where to find. So I started answering questions, and helping out a little. It made perfect sense, especially with the relatively low number of coins I held. The more I could do to help out the project, the better the project and thus price would perform. Even if the price could go up by half a cent due to me, that would have been well worth it. That is how I became more ingrained with the project. I would answer some questions, provided a little support where I could, and that was fine enough. Until the [fudders](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt) came in. The first one was an absolute no-brainer. The team had introduced the CEO’s wife as the in-house legal advisor. For this fudder, the nepotism aspect meant she was by definition incapable as a legal advisor. Strictly on the merits of being married to the CEO. As this logic made zero sense to me, I engaged in the conversation and in the end, I managed to turn his way of thinking around. That felt pretty good. As a confirmation of that, one of the then-Community Managers, as well as the Community Leader both sent me a message, stating he noticed me helping out more often and how well I handled this situation. I was invited into the “inner circle”; a place where some community members had a bit of a closer line to the core team. Of course, being recognized as someone that actually is adding value–as I had set out to do–was great. I kept doing what I did, and my voice was heard when questions arose on how to proceed after Slack (the main channel for discourse between the community and team at the time) appeared limiting. We chose to go with Discord. # Discord Moderator When we moved on from Slack to Discord, the inner circle was invited first to properly prepare the channel. To my surprise, when I logged in a day later, I was upgraded to Moderator. While it did not provide me with any new benefits, it meant my answers were immediately legitimized. And it was a nice token of appreciation and recognition. It certainly increased my activity. At this point, I could not wait to get home from work and actively participate in a project that might change my entire future. It got pretty busy at some points. I recall having a week off, and I spent it all on Discord - answering questions and providing support. We’d joke around a little and I would make stupid memes, but at times we would be working busy hours. I vividly recall a moment where I was talking to three different people in two different channels, having this real-time conversation going on. Apparently, I impressed the right people, as the Community Leader used the tipbot to send me $100,- in the middle of me explaining and supporting these people. And the chat immediately fell silent. Until the silence was broken by a compliment and some “wow”s. That’s a moment I will not soon forget. Not only was I doing something I enjoyed, but a “stranger” also gave me 100 bucks for doing it. That was awesome. And it only fueled my fire. The main draw for me was being in a place where my effort and dedication were appreciated. And I appreciated being appreciated. And I was happy to be given a chance where I could influence my future just a little. # Core Team Breakdown Sometime during late December, the Core Team broke down after an announcement turned into a small fiasco because of an inappropriate joke. While the announcement itself held good news, the “play on words” in big letters did not. Behind the scenes, I was throwing a fit, alongside several others-both core team and outsiders like myself. The entire situation was handled badly, and one of the community’s trusted contributors behind closed doors decided to leak everything to 4chan’s infamous /biz/ channel. I will spare the details of it all, but the end result was that the core team went mostly silent. Meanwhile, I had created a Telegram channel and had become the de facto face of the project. As the core team became largely unavailable to the public and the other moderators taking some time, I was the last one standing for a community that had a lot of questions. Luckily, I would still chat with them every so often, and I would be able to forward the most prying questions and relay them back to the audience. I would also be informed with some proprietary information, which was the reason I kept at it. I knew good things were coming but was never allowed to explain this to the greater community. As such, I did what I could to keep everyone inside the boat. That became my sole mission: Keep everyone here until we could finally tell them the hard work behind the scenes. Being the face of the project, I had my fair share of shit thrown at me. Accusations of being paid to uphold the project while the team exit scammed, and so forth. But those few would not stop me. Those that kept up a belligerent attitude after trying to explain the situation were, after solemn consideration, removed from the community. On Telegram I noticed an active community member helping out as well. After engaging in a little chat with him, I upgraded him to Admin. He was helping out, not because he would get paid, but because it would benefit the project. It was someone just like me. That freed some time up for me I could spend on the other audience on Discord. More of such good eggs came along the way, and they are the Moderators and Admins you see in our ODIN channels today. # Resurgence After some months of keeping at it, the CEO suddenly began to reengage more openly with the project and the community. Apparently, a few months back on December 31st, I linked him up with someone that appeared to know what he was talking about. After I introduced them to each other, they went on to talk about the project and its issues. They had decided to create a new project, and they wanted to bring me up to speed. This came as a huge surprise for me. For one, not only was my consistent activity noted, but I was also being recognized as a key cornerstone of the project. I felt honored and was excited to hear what had been going on during the radio silence. It was good. We were finally going to tell the people about ODIN. The project which would surpass the Obsidian Project in all ways, and more. Some days later, I was “randomly added” on Telegram by someone. Apparently, they were thinking of hiring her for community work. The first person the CEO thought of that she should talk to regarding the community was me. I promptly filled her in and started thinking; if there’s room for new people, why not me? And I followed up on that. And the CEO, Pete, obliged. As the both of us were still holding a full-time job, we would both get a part-time contract. We had some similar ideas and some divergent ones. But we managed to work together very well. During this time I became increasingly frustrated with my full-time job. All too often the robot would choke up at the end of the day, forcing me to work overtime (I worked as a lab technician, don’t ask!). I just wanted to get home and get to work on my “fun job”. After the necessary cussing and stressing, I would get home, and get to work. I kept working like this for two months. In the end, however, only one person could be offered a full-time position. Due to my long-standing connection, dedication and contributions, I was given the full-time position. I can not tell you how excited I was to leave the full-time job that would leave me stressed and underpaid. In the meantime, we also had some people in the community showing up and proving themselves to be great assets. All of them were helping out strictly on the merits of helping out; not for a greater reward. Some of these guys are today’s ODIN Moderators. The others are helping out in other ways. They know who they are. # Onward It’s strange how one work-time conversation could lead up until something so much greater. Even more so when I think of how that one conversation has affected the lives of hundreds of others. Dedication, perseverance and a good amount of luck have placed me where I am today. Since I joined the Slack channel, not a single day has gone by where I have not been available to the community. I honestly don’t think a day has gone by where I did not speak in one of the channels. Yet, if Pete had been any other person, I very well might still have been stuck working both a full-time job and spending free time on a project for free. I have been given an entirely new future and I intend to do everything in my power to make it worth not just my while, but that of everyone involved. To all of those that held through and took my hand during the months where everyone else fell silent; I am happy you have made it through. I have received comments stating “I would not be here today without you”. I would not have any right to be here if it wasn’t for you either. My sincerest “Thank you” to everyone involved in this community, and my respect to you if you made it through this wall of text! A thank you to Cameron, Andre, Joe, Daniel, Alperen, J. Christopher and Dalton. As the community grew, they have absolutely stepped up as Moderators and Admins. And I would like to issue a special thank you to Jordan and Pete for helping me on my climb to where I am now. ONWARD to a greater future, together! |

While the announcement itself held good news, the “play on words” in big letters did not. Behind the scenes, I was throwing a fit, alongside several others-both core team and outsiders like myself. The entire situation was handled badly, and one of the community’s trusted contributors behind closed doors decided to leak everything to 4chan’s infamous /biz/ channel.\n\nI will spare the details of it all, but the end result was that the core team went mostly silent.\n\nMeanwhile, I had created a Telegram channel and had become the de facto face of the project. That became my sole mission: Keep everyone here until we could finally tell them the hard work behind the scenes.\n\nBeing the face of the project, I had my fair share of shit thrown at me. Accusations of being paid to uphold the project while the team exit scammed, and so forth. But those few would not stop me. Those that kept up a belligerent attitude after trying to explain the situation were, after solemn consideration, removed from the community.\n\nOn Telegram I noticed an active community member helping out as well. After engaging in a little chat with him, I upgraded him to Admin. He was helping out, not because he would get paid, but because it would benefit the project. It was someone just like me. That freed some time up for me I could spend on the other audience on Discord.\n\nMore of such good eggs came along the way, and they are the Moderators and Admins you see in our ODIN channels today.\n\n# Resurgence\nAfter some months of keeping at it, the CEO suddenly began to reengage more openly with the project and the community. Apparently, a few months back on December 31st, I linked him up with someone that appeared to know what he was talking about. After I introduced them to each other, they went on to talk about the project and its issues. They had decided to create a new project, and they wanted to bring me up to speed.\n\nThis came as a huge surprise for me. For one, not only was my consistent activity noted, but I was also being recognized as a key cornerstone of the project. I felt honored and was excited to hear what had been going on during the radio silence.\n\nIt was good. We were finally going to tell the people about ODIN. The project which would surpass the Obsidian Project in all ways, and more.\n\nSome days later, I was “randomly added” on Telegram by someone. Apparently, they were thinking of hiring her for community work. The first person the CEO thought of that she should talk to regarding the community was me. I promptly filled her in and started thinking; if there’s room for new people, why not me? And I followed up on that. And the CEO, Pete, obliged.\n\nAs the both of us were still holding a full-time job, we would both get a part-time contract. We had some similar ideas and some divergent ones. But we managed to work together very well.\n\nDuring this time I became increasingly frustrated with my full-time job. All too often the robot would choke up at the end of the day, forcing me to work overtime (I worked as a lab technician, don’t ask!). I just wanted to get home and get to work on my “fun job”. After the necessary cussing and stressing, I would get home, and get to work. I kept working like this for two months. \n\nIn the end, however, only one person could be offered a full-time position. Due to my long-standing connection, dedication and contributions, I was given the full-time position. I can not tell you how excited I was to leave the full-time job that would leave me stressed and underpaid.\n\nIn the meantime, we also had some people in the community showing up and proving themselves to be great assets. All of them were helping out strictly on the merits of helping out; not for a greater reward. Some of these guys are today’s ODIN Moderators. The others are helping out in other ways. They know who they are.\n\n# Onward \nIt’s strange how one work-time conversation could lead up until something so much greater. Even more so when I think of how that one conversation has affected the lives of hundreds of others.\n\nDedication, perseverance and a good amount of luck have placed me where I am today.\n\nSince I joined the Slack channel, not a single day has gone by where I have not been available to the community. I honestly don’t think a day has gone by where I did not speak in one of the channels. Yet, if Pete had been any other person, I very well might still have been stuck working both a full-time job and spending free time on a project for free.\n\nI have been given an entirely new future and I intend to do everything in my power to make it worth not just my while, but that of everyone involved. To all of those that held through and took my hand during the months where everyone else fell silent; I am happy you have made it through. I have received comments stating “I would not be here today without you”. I would not have any right to be here if it wasn’t for you either.\n\nMy sincerest “Thank you” to everyone involved in this community, and my respect to you if you made it through this wall of text!\n\nA thank you to Cameron, Andre, Joe, Daniel, Alperen, J. Christopher and Dalton. As the community grew, they have absolutely stepped up as Moderators and Admins.\n\nAnd I would like to issue a special thank you to Jordan and Pete for helping me on my climb to where I am now.\n\nONWARD to a greater future, together!",

| body | On friday, after the name and logo competition was started the day before, we finally have a new name to attach to the incoming chain! Congratulations to Knau5 for the correct guess, he must have some sharp eyes! So the split version of Obsidian will carry on as ODIN. For some this appears to be a point of concern, so I shall try and explain as well as possible there is no need for any apprehension. **The Funds** The funds were always raised for one purpose: To fulfill the promises made in the original whitepaper. This is what the funds were, and still are, designated for. Changing a name does not mean the original goals will be abandoned. Even moreso, it has been stated that the new team is working on expanding well beyond the scope of the original whitepaper as well. This implies more features, and more features means diversification of the platform. This means increased odds for one of these aspects to increase demand for the coin. From an investor's point of view, this should be very good news. **New Team** I have mentioned this in previous write-ups already, but I feel I need to stress this fact. I realise they have not been introduced yet, but they are absolutely there. A large part of the moderator pool has spoken to the new lead developer earlier on and were impressed by his knowledge and basic layout of the current situation and what needs to be changed. This team will be spearheading the development of the new chain. While the loss of blackstone for the new chain is an undoubtedly considerable one, I do hope people realise that people quit jobs every day and vacancies get filled every day. As skilled as one might be, nobody is irreplaceable. Also, the fact of the matter is: We may have lost one good developer, we have gained a full team in return. **The Current Secrecy** There are very good reasons for the current secrecy surrounding the new chain. While I absolutely realise the frustration this brings with it, it is an unfortunate requirement to ensure the chain's wellbeing on several aspects into the future. This is in everyone's best interest, and I sincerely hope this will all be explained properly in due time. **Obsidian's Future** Obsidian may very well still have a bright future ahead. It has never been said that blackstone will stop all his work. In fact, during his break from Discord over march he never halted development, and released the [OSM v0.9](https://github.com/obsidianproject/MessengerAndroid/releases) right around easter. While I can not speak for his motivations or plans, as I simply don't know, I do remain hopeful he will continue his work on ODN. Regardless of blackstone: The chain remains open source and anyone that is willing can continue its development as well as create applications. |

| body | Unfortunately this weekend's updates have not been as rich in content as many wished, including me. My apologies for my part in building a hype if you are let down. However, despite a lack of full details, the news actually was quite good. In summary: **Path Forward Confirmed** Despite being unable to reach an agreement with the former developer, the team has decided to go forward with an "alternative self-reliant path that will allow us to relaunch as soon as possible". Among others, the goals set in the original whitepaper shall be met and greatly expanded upon. In the end, there will be much more than what was originally planned. Details on this will be revealed in due course, starting with some *sneak peeks* these coming days where the new name, logo and PoS updates will be revealed. **New Team** Also confirmed is the onboarding of a new team. The mod team already confirmed as much, but this time the confirmation comes from the CEO himself. As the CEO has stated, some time during december or january he commisioned an extensive and confidential audit, performed internally as well as by experienced third parties. These audits have shown several areas severely lacking and in order to redeem that, new team members have been onboarded. It has earlier been confirmed that these members include multiple blockchain developers for those of you that are interested in that regard. This team shall continue the technology development from now on. **Relaunch** With great NewCoin comes great relaunchability. We can understand some of the scepticism around what is being termed as another relaunch, but this is looking to be a whole lot more than that - with an extended new team in place, working full time, and they absolutely know what they are doing. As mentioned earlier, the first sneak peeks will be revealed over the course of the coming days. **Stay Tuned** For some, the details contained in the most recent announcements were less than they had hoped for, yet there look to be a more regular feed of information and details coming very soon, and undoubtedly these will be worth keeping an eye out for over the coming days. Any sneak peeks shown on [Discord](url=https://discordapp.com/invite/Wyagm4f) will soon be carried over to [Telegram](url=https://t.me/obsidian_eng) as well. Also I'll see to it they are also posted on [Twitter](url=https://twitter.com/ObsidianCrypto). After a series of silence and underwhelming announcements, I can fully understand a drop in sentiment. However, I do remain hopeful you stick around for the time being and see your patience be rewarded. My personal faith in the coming plans is as steady as ever. |

| body | Unfortunately this weekend's updates have not been as rich in content as many wished, including me. Also I'll see to it they are also posted on [Twitter](url=https://twitter.com/ObsidianCrypto. After a series of silence and underwhelming announcements, I can fully understand a drop in sentiment. However, I do remain hopeful you stick around for the time being and see your patience be rewarded. My personal faith in the coming plans is as steady as ever. |

| body | **General Overview** **Project Name:** LuckBox **Token Type:** ERC20 **Ticker Symbol:** LCK **Website:** https://luckbox.com/ **Whitepaper:** https://luckbox.com/docs/2181/lb-wp.pdf **Hard Cap:** $20.000.000,- **ConversionRate:** T.B.A. **Bonus Structure:** T.B.A. **Minimum investment:** Presale $10.000,- Crowdsale $250,- **LuckBox Synopsis** LuckBox aims to take part in the emerging world of *eSports*, placing their main focus on the aspect of gambling and betting. While a number of eSports betting websites already exist, most run into the problems of allowing for a decent payment gateway. LuckBox will solve this problem through the use of cryptocurrencies, which is inherently safer than any traditional payment method for both customer and company. Furthermore, removing any third party from the payment gateway such as Visa or Paypal, reduces both costs and waiting time for deposits to arrive. Beyond giving users the ability to bet their cryptocurrencies, they will accept even skins and other tradeable cosmetic gaming items. This allows LuckBox to tap into a previously mostly ignored spending base, as CS:GO cosmetic items alone account for a $6.000.000.000,- market. **Accessibility** While details are still lacking pending partnership announcements as part of the publicity drive, LuckBox has selected an aggregator solution already used by some of the largest gaming brands. This should allow for roughly 200 different globally accessible payment methods and ensure customers all around the world to be able to participate through fiat deposits. LuckBox also focuses on complying with as many jurisdictions as possible all over the world, to ensure their activities are completely legal and allowing them to access the already existing $47.000.000.000,- pre-existing gambling market as well. **Two token structure** LuckBox aims to implement a dual-token structure, named LuckCash and LuckProfit. LuckCash will mainly function as the utility token, used for gambling and purchases as their cryptocurrency of choice. However, LuckCash also brings a whole other array of benefits with it, such as having the user receive faster VIP rewards, purchasing or upgrading VIP crates as well as reducing payment processing costs compared to fiat for both customer and company. LuckProfit, on the other hand, allows one to have a stake in the company’s success. These may be purchased at a 1:1 ratio for LuckCash and can be staked, allowing stakers to receive a proportional amount of up to 20% of the company’s net profits. However, such a structure would in essence make this token a security and will likely be subject to certain legal restrictions. While a number of eSports betting websites already exist, most run into the problems of allowing for a decent payment gateway. LuckBox will solve this problem through the use of cryptocurrencies, which is inherently safer than any traditional payment method for both customer and company. Furthermore, removing any third party from the payment gateway such as Visa or Paypal, reduces both costs and waiting time for deposits to arrive.\nBeyond giving users the ability to bet their cryptocurrencies, they will accept even skins and other tradeable cosmetic gaming items. This allows LuckBox to tap into a previously mostly ignored spending base, as CS:GO cosmetic items alone account for a $6.000.000.000,- market.\n\n\n\n**Accessibility**\n\nWhile details are still lacking pending partnership announcements as part of the publicity drive, LuckBox has selected an aggregator solution already used by some of the largest gaming brands. This should allow for roughly 200 different globally accessible payment methods and ensure customers all around the world to be able to participate through fiat deposits.\n\nLuckBox also focuses on complying with as many jurisdictions as possible all over the world, to ensure their activities are completely legal and allowing them to access the already existing $47.000.000.000,- pre-existing gambling market as well.\n\n\n**Two token structure**\n\nLuckBox aims to implement a dual-token structure, named LuckCash and LuckProfit.\n\nLuckCash will mainly function as the utility token, used for gambling and purchases as their cryptocurrency of choice. However, LuckCash also brings a whole other array of benefits with it, such as having the user receive faster VIP rewards, purchasing or upgrading VIP crates as well as reducing payment processing costs compared to fiat for both customer and company.\n\nLuckProfit, on the other hand, allows one to have a stake in the company’s success. These may be purchased at a 1:1 ratio for LuckCash and can be staked, allowing stakers to receive a proportional amount of up to 20% of the company’s net profits.\nHowever, such a structure would in essence make this token a security and will likely be subject to certain legal restrictions. As such, LuckProfit may only be bought by accredited investors in the U.S., with possible limitations to other nations.\nIt should be noted that LuckProfit holds a disclaimer on the website informing investors it may or may not actually come into existence.\n\n\n**The Team**\n\nThe team behind LuckBox consists of an impressive line up with compounded decades of years of experience in the relevant fields LuckBox is covering.\n\n**CEO:\tLars Lien**\t- https://www.linkedin.com/in/larslien/\nA decade of operations management experience in gambling, digital currencies and gaming pioneers such as PokerStarts, IGE/IMI Exchange, GosuGames and Sony Online Entertainment.\n\n**Co-founder:\tMike Stevens**\t-\thttps://www.linkedin.com/in/mjstevens80/\nProfessional poker player, crypto trader & investor.
