      "body": "Hello Stemians, I know I have been absent from the community for a while now, I made promises to post more about my stay in Barbados, I didn't get to do so because of reasons like work and other daily routines.   \n  I apologise to all my readers, I did take pictures and now that I have the time I will dedicate more to sharing my experiences to you guys. Anyhow my time finished in Barbados so I had to return back to my homeland Venezuela, also have some posts pending for my time spent there, I am presently In Guyana, home country of my parents, its not my first or second visit, but my first since I've joined this awesome community. \nIn my time here on steemit, I did some research and didn't find any posts on this wonderful country, I am not going to write about it either in this post, but since I am visiting I will make posts on some of the places i visit - mostly short posts with pictures taken by me. \nSo right on to the point of this post, today we will be discovering **St Georges Cathedral.**\n\n\n![IMG_20180503_114030-01.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQma2FiGaeYevJNiNUgK53Lo7SVhL334hhJSerXXB81rgpu/IMG_20180503_114030-01.jpg)\n>Exterior\n\nThis wonder is *One The tallest wooden churches in the world*, at a height of 43.5 metres (143 ft), It was completed on the  8th of  November 1894.\n\n![IMG_20180503_113638-01.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNrd7X5QU71BDv9cTeBj48E4oQTbxGUmjq3PZvYHmfMNQ/IMG_20180503_113638-01.jpg)\n>interior\n\nSt. George's Cathedral is characterised mainly by Gothic arches, clustered columns and flying buttresses. The interior of the church makes for fascinating history. Whether it is an article of furniture, the chalices, the memorial tablets or the Baptism registers - they all tell a story. The story is not only about Guyana's history, but glimpses of its Caribbean neighbours are also revealed. There is a small Gothic shrine of carved oak in the northern aisle that commemorates Bishop Coleridge, first Bishop of Barbados, who was responsible for British Guiana from 1826 to 1842. Las ideas siguen creciendo para la solucion a los problemas que tengamos en nuestra vida cotidiana, como estas gafas inteligentes que pueden ser de ayuda para gente con dislexia o con problemas en la vista.\n\nLa idea es similar a la de las Google Glass, pero más restringida a que sean directamente una asistencia a personas que tienen algún tipo de impedimento o problema para leer o visualizar palabras. También para el entendimiento, estando la opción de que sean un traductor a tiempo real.\n\nEn concreto hablamos de **Oton Glass**, unas gafas inteligentes que integran dos cámaras y un auricular. Lo que hacen es detectar las palabras y leerlas en voz alta al usuario, tirando de reconocimiento de imágenes y de seguimiento del ojo del usuario.\n\nEsto es posible gracias a que una de las lentes integra un pequeño espejo, con el cual el ojo del usuario es reflejado, y una de las cámaras detecta el movimiento de lo ojos del usuario y los parpadeos (que son lo que activa la lectura), de modo que así es como apunta a lo que éste está leyendo. La otra cámara es la que captura las palabras que el sujeto lee.\n\n<iframe src=\"https://player.vimeo.com/video/175384517\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>\n\nEl cerebro de las Oton Glass es algo tan sencillo como una Raspberry Pi, la cual se encarga de procesar las imágenes y detectar las palabras en éstas tirando de reconocimiento óptico de caracteres (OCR). Estas palabras escritas pasan a ser orales con tecnología de voz artificial, de modo que el usuario acaba oyéndolas.\n\n## Aun bajo desarrollo\nExplica Keisuke Shimikage, jefe del equipo de desarrollo, que la inspiración le vino al padecer su padre dislexia a raíz de una operación por un tumor cerebral. Viendo los problemas del afectado pensó en que un gadget como éste podría ser de ayuda, y de hecho lo han estado probando con él y con otros cinco pacientes de dislexia.\n\nEl prototipo actual (el segundo, impreso en 3D) de las gafas tiene un diseño relativamente compacto para ser este tipo de gafas, incorporando dos cámaras y la circuitería, pero aún así el espejo de la lente en cuyo lado está la cámara para los ojos las delata, así como las patas.
