| body | I know we've talked a lot about this so I have an idea of what you're referring to. There is the joke "if you're using force doesn't work, then you're not using enough". It makes me cringe because people use that approach to win and I do think it has benefited them in some way, so they continue using it. Either way, I agree with the principle that a good idea does not need force. It needs promotion, conversation, and open discussion. What are people afraid of? That needs to be addressed for any idea. |

| body | I've been told by school officials that they are "not allowed" to say "no" to CPS and they are "not allowed" to notify the parent's first. Here in the states, a child has the right to have an attorney present. I know Legal Shield provides that service (I'm not an associate), BUT whenever I've logged that into my kids' files in the past....that's what I was told. Even though the child has the right to have an attorney present, they are not allowed to call the parents first or even notify them. I told them then they ARE REQUIRED to call my child's attorney to be present before any interviews take place with my kids. Do you think that happened? **Nope.** |

| body | For anyone who does not homeschool, I also want to point out that social workers will go to the kids school to interview them. They will get around laws by having a school district employed counselor do the interview if necessary. Let's just say they took this action with absolutely NO notification to the parents (myself and my ex). In fact, I knew it happened because my kids let me know that day. |

| body | Funny thing about the Jerusalem Embassy. Bill Clinton promised to move it. Didn't. George W Bush promised to move it. Didn't. Obama promised to move it both terms he ran for president. Didn't. Trump promises to move it. Does it. Is roasted over a spit for doing it. As to Milo. He is actually entertaining to watch IMO. My wife Debbie and I watched some of his speeches when he was recently touring Australia and they were quite entertaining. The thing about many people and Trump. There are things he has done they like, and things they don't like. The two strikes against Syria based upon false information bothered me. Those are the two biggest. I knew those gas attacks were false flags (perpetrated by others and blamed on Assad) as they both happened right when Assad was about to get what he wanted. These actions are sure to counter that and keep us at his throat. The first turned out not to be Sarin and might have been Chlorine but it was not done by Assad and it was over a year ago. This recent one turns out to have been a complete act put on by the "White Helmets" and didn't even happen. The videos they had were of people acting as they'd been promises sweets and things. I've noticed one of Trump's weaknesses. If they show him pictures of dead babies or children being harmed he get's stupid and will attack where they tell him to attack. He doesn't stop to verify the children are really photos from the event he is supposedly reacting to, and in the recent attack he didn't even verify they were dead. At least one of those children prominently figured in the gas attack video has been touring speaking about how they promised him sweets if he would act and if he would let them poor water over him. A doctor at the alleged event location said there were no gas victims, but there were some respiratory issues from dust in the air. SO children pictures and videos seem like Kryptonite for Trump's brain. As to many of the things he says. I think he intentionally says those things. I suspected it and said it and then I watched. When things seem to be dying down and mainstream media starts poking at anything important other than Trump. Along comes some Trump, or some soundbite for them to get fired up over again. End result that is where they spend most of their time. If he is truly doing that, then that is smart, and not dumb like it seems. Who knows... it's easy speculate many different ways. Is it smart, or is he dumb? When I say dumb I mean foot in mouth dumb. I used to think so. Now I am not so sure. Overall despite what the news likes to report he has done pretty damn well on most other things despite the constant onslaught. Yet if he keeps that onslaught going intentionally, maybe that isn't as surprising as I once thought. |

| body | I prefer people to speak what they feel. If that is "offensive", I do not care. I do not have to listen. There have been a few people through the years that I heard and decided I was not overly fond of their position on things. Never would I go to lengths to stop them from speaking. At the same time, I rarely listen to what they have to say. If someone I know says "oh I really liked what they said about..." I would listen to it; however, I will not seek out their opinion. I do not care for Trump as the representative of America. There have been plenty of moments where I wish he had more tact. His opinion is his to have, even as the president, but that does not mean I like how he expressed it. I have to say he has made a few moves that made me go "wow, he actually did that?" AKA - He had our embassy moved to Jerusalem. The fact he actually did it impresses me. He promised to do it and did it. That is a rare sight in politics. Especially when it comes to Israel and Palestinian fiasco. Admittedly I have not heard about Milo before you posted that, but I do not think that excuses their behavior. Even if he was a Nazi (since that is the fun thing to call people as you point out), they are not actually accomplishing change. Instead those people are being rude, disruptive to the business, and bullying. If you act bully the bully, are you really standing for anything? |

| body | ^_^ He probably has some publications. I tend to like to start with scholarly summaries of psychologists before diving into the material. This is where I can sometimes hate psychology: Their materials are lengthy. LOL. They give an idea like Tolkien writes. Usually at least. So I'll read a section and go "wait.... they basically said...". So a summarized view tells me whether I want to find more material. Carl Jung is good to understand because Myer-Briggs material was built on his foundation. https://www.britannica.com/biography/Carl-Jung <- I loved this summary. The 2nd to last describes his written works for later reference. By the way, his archetypes are cited by Joseph Campbell for example. :) |

Myself, am an extrovert, but find some of my best days have come when I am left alone to my own thoughts. I'll start w/Carl Jung then? Any publications you would recommend? Thx!! |

| body | The sad thing. Milo is a Gay guy and his husband is black. Oh and he is Jewish. He get's called a Nazi a lot. Clearly the people that use the term Nazi very liberally these days and fascist have no real clear what the word means. They don't need to. They can just mindlessly chant and not have a discussion. Much like children sticking their fingers in their ears and saying nanny nanny boo boo. I see examples of this frequently. It is encouraged. Milo's big moments that allow them to justify all of this are basically that he supports Trump, free speech, and doesn't really filter what he says. He doesn't go out of his way not to offend people. I personally think that is what is needed now. I know you don't care for Trump, but regardless I also know you support free speech so it doesn't matter whether you like Trump or not. Not liking Trump is not sudden license to stick your brain on a shelf inside of a box. |

| body | No don't feel silly! Psychology is such a wide field, it is entirely possible I have missed opinions out there. I both love it and hate it LOL By all means pass over to me as many articles as you would like ^_^ True environmental science is heavy on the biology from what I have been exposed to. I suppose that means you're more of a nature in the nurture vs nature debate ;) I tend to lean toward nurture, but I cannot deny nature's huge role. I really appreciate you jumping in to share your opinion. It's the only way we are exposed to new ideas in my opinion. There is a lot to Myers-Briggs, starting with the Carl Jung base, but totally worth reading it. I think there's another psychologist as well that basically says you have both aspects to your personality. For example, introvert and extrovert, rational and creative. You are not one OR the other. Rather, you have both but one will be more dominant and you'll have moments of doing the opposite. I'm an introvert normally but sometimes I decide I must go out to be around people. Hope that helps and I look forward to more opinions from you. :D |

| body | I know for me, this article is one I really liked. He hit the nail on the head, in my opinion, about tribalism and losing freedom to the collective "we". Like people trying to say Kanye was no longer black. Even going as far as removing the pigment in a picture to make their point. His race should NEVER been determined or limited by people just because they do not like his opinions. Is the man brilliant? Not as far as I'm concerned, but the backlash was guttural. With that being said, I have no idea about the rest of Andrew's material. Perhaps I'll come across many other things I do not agree with. ^_^ It happens a lot to me as I read. This was a pleasant surprise. Thank you so much for reading my take on his piece :) |

| body | That video really annoyed me. If I had the restaurant, I would have booted the ones actually disturbing the peace. People making the reservation, who are not yelling, but are the ones being yelled at should not have to leave. This is BULLYING. It made me so angry to watch grown adults bully other people and get away with it. It's been on my mind all morning. As a former teacher I would not have tolerated one kid behaving in this fashion, let alone a handful. If you cannot eat at your own table in a manner that lets other people enjoy their meal, you leave. Even if I know the extremes are behaving this way, I hope we as a society make them feel ashamed for their actions. I want people to lose their job for publically bullying another if those people use their job to do the bullying. AKA - sticking a recorder in a man's face as he's trying to walk into a restaurant and refusing to leave him alone. Freedom of the press does not include stalking or bullying behavior. This has already been a discussion. Now, to the robot that many people have commented on. You are correct, it is disturbing to see governments issuing out passports and such. Power the robot down and put it in luggage where it should be. Give it a pretty box. I don't care. Either way, it is simply wires and machines with good programming. There is not autonomy and will not be. The machines are only as good as their subroutines ;) |

| body | I agree! Personal responsibility used to be a HUGE topic as I grew up. You did not dump trash out the window because it was YOUR trash to take care of. If you did messed up, own it and fix it. I still try to do this at work. If I know my procrastination or action lead to something negative, I apologize and try to fix it. Yep, I did it and now I will fix it. There are consequences but it is better to own that mistake. I do not want to force people to behave like me, but I do wonder, did we lose the sense of "us" in our culture? When I go out and talk with people, I find diversity but I do not see behavior like I do online. Does online impersonalize it so drastically that we lose the restraint we would show in person? |

| body | Yay! I thought you would have a lot to say on this topic ^_^ I agree that the true definition of freedom seems to be lost in our society. I have asked people to explain WHY we need to go to war, and the number of times 'evil' is presented for the other person's actions surprised me. That person sounds horrible. The empathetic side of me absolutely does not want to turn a blind eye to pain and suffering. The cost of policing others to behave the way we want is too great in my opinion. Our population being sent to enforce our ideals elsewhere? If they liked that idea, why do we have to stay there after the evil dictator was removed? There were many other great points you made. Political correctness and fear of offense are a couple I know we have discussed a little bit. It has truly gotten out of hand. I do think we as a society should define social interactions for businesses. IE - companies who ask about political stance, religious belief, and so on. It used to be Emily Post who published the etiquette, but it was not enforced by laws. Society held others to those standards. Now everything is made into legal enforcement :( Thanks for jumping in and resteeming ^_^ |

I do think we as a society should define social interactions for businesses. IE - companies who ask about political stance, religious belief, and so on. It used to be Emily Post who published the etiquette, but it was not enforced by laws. Society held others to those standards. Now everything is made into legal enforcement :(\n\nThanks for jumping in and resteeming ^_^",

I'll have to read Myers-Briggs and have a layman's understanding of personality types, but am somewhat of a hobbyist in the field as my degree is in environmental science lol. But it's the study of the biology's that motivates all in the scientific community. These are important to consider and debate! ;) |

| body | Social media is mostly just a reflection of culture. We live in a time where everyone wants their trophy. I finished school I expect to be successful, but it doesn't stop there. One has to go out and make the success. We don't just disagree we judge. In some cases we are so focused on winning we quit valuing right and wrong. Many are pleasure seeking instead of trying to find joy. Personal responsibility and tolerance we discussed a lot in my childhood, but I don't hear much about it now. It is reflected in those who come to SteemIt and want Steem to magically rain down on them. Social media isn't the problem, we could do better with our Culture though. |

| body | This is a many faceted problem. Social media is just one of them. Look at the increasing encroachment upon people's rights. The right to raise your child in your beliefs? Sure until CPS disagrees, then they can take your child. I have one major saying that I keep ending inadvertently back at every day. Good ideas don't require force. It is important to note that force also comes in the form of coercion. If by not agreeing to do something you are punished, harmed, damned, etc then you do so out of a need to survive that is coercion. People have lost an understanding of freedom. Or it has intentionally been indoctrinated out of them or not taught. Freedom has risks, just like living, breathing, and reality. There are two things people seem to be fixated on these days: 1) Saving other people. Even if they don't want the help. 2) Stopping evil. The problem is that "saving" and "evil" are both subjective. The end result is people forcing their will and their beliefs upon others. Perhaps demanding someone who disagrees with them be censored. Perhaps demanding someone who disagrees with them be imprisoned. Perhaps stating it is okay if someone was harmed or killed if that person represented ideas they don't personally like. Perhaps seeing someone hurt in an accident and thus deciding no one should be able to attempt certain activities to prevent any future accidents of that type regardless of how rare they were. There are some true mental illnesses pervading the country: Political correctness. Fear of offending others. Reality is offensive at times. When a bird shits on your shoulder you likely are momentarily offended. Then you move on. The ability to move on is being removed. Instead it is prevent that offense from being ever possible, by legal, or protestors repetitively chanting means. These things are EVIL regardless of which party you do/do not support, or what ideology one follows. They all result in force, coercive or physical. Good ideas don't require force. |

The end result is people forcing their will and their beliefs upon others.\n\nPerhaps demanding someone who disagrees with them be censored.\nPerhaps demanding someone who disagrees with them be imprisoned.\nPerhaps stating it is okay if someone was harmed or killed if that person represented ideas they don't personally like.\nPerhaps seeing someone hurt in an accident and thus deciding no one should be able to attempt certain activities to prevent any future accidents of that type regardless of how rare they were.\n\nThere are some true mental illnesses pervading the country:\n\nPolitical correctness.\nFear of offending others.\n\nReality is offensive at times. When a bird shits on your shoulder you likely are momentarily offended. Then you move on.\n\nThe ability to move on is being removed.\n\nInstead it is prevent that offense from being ever possible, by legal, or protestors repetitively chanting means.\n\nThese things are EVIL regardless of which party you do/do not support, or what ideology one follows.\n\nThey all result in force, coercive or physical.\n\nGood ideas don't require force.",
