People don't want to accept the influence of something digital despite the success of the internet. Another part of society dwells in fear about all possible consequences like people a hundred years ago when the car was a new baby. \n\nWhy do human beings always concentrate on the negative side of things? One puzzle piece for the answer to that question is flexibility. Many circumstances are leading to inflexibility everywhere, in the body, brain and mind. Once the mind is stuck between fear and ego, you can't expect flexible movements in thinking. So people turn to whatever is more comfortable to access, it's called „The way of the least resistance“, and most of the time it's the old pattern and structures because they know what they have to deal with. If something new comes along the ego, know a possible change is happening with it. We can witness this in our topic of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies on a daily basis. \n\nYou may ask what all this has to do with RAYS flexible network? \n\nSee our inner world & thinking reflects on our outer world & acting. All projects are done by people who grew up with those unflexible „society pattern“, and thus their projects are built in the same way. If you compare RAYS flexible network with other projects, you will see that are not able to switch between different and opposing each other use-cases. So they are suitable for one solution but not for the opposite of it. I call it one dimensional. You need both versions because each use-case demands a different approach.\n\nLet me use the following example. \n\nYou have to pay all the employees of your company, and in the future, you will do this using the blockchain with its cryptocurrency. In this case, you need to hide the amount of payment everyone will get, and at the same time, you need to send the money to all 500 of them at the same time. With RAYS Network you will be able to do exactly that with just one click. At the same time, you have to send the bonus for the top ten employees, and you need a transparent transaction because everyone in the company needs to see who did the best work in the last month. With RAYS Network you can do this too, with the same easy procedure and on the same Blockchain. I could create many other examples which would show why the future handling of crypto assets needs this kind of flexibility. It is a regulation registered in the European Union (EU) law which lays out the rules on data protection and maintains privacy for all the citizens of European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA). The primary goal of the law is to give control to individuals over their personal data and to allow them to decide when and with whom to share their data.\n\nIn this hyper-connected and globalized world of data, it has become mandatory for international businesses to comply with GDPR. Companies are compelled to divert attention and resources to redefine their information governance and security programs and become more transparent in the way they handle customer's data.\n\nMany organizations have felt the repercussions of the regulations as a flurry of Data Protection Agreements and Terms of Service updates have been forwarded to the data users of the company that operate within EU or EEA or that directly utilises the personal data of their customers in the EU. There are increased enforcement which can lead to fines of up to EUR 20 million or 4% of the worldwide turnover of a company if companies are not GDPR compliant.\n\nBlockchain for GDPR Compliance\n\nTechnologies such as the Blockchain have the power to be compliant with offering solutions to the GDPR mandate. The Blockchain is a distributed ledger which registers, stores and shares digital data in a synchronised manner, maintained by consensus algorithm, spreading across multiple sites, countries, and institutions. The data is stored in a chronological order in blocks, making it very difficult to tamper with the data as all the previous blocks need to be altered to make any changes. Each node comprises of a complete copy of the entire ledger and each block consists of a hash pointer which links the previous block, a timestamp and transaction data.\n\n\"Right to Erasure\"\n\nOne of the distinct features of the Blockchain is that transactions recorded cannot be deleted or tampered with. However, GDP compliance requires that individuals possess the right to be forgotten if they wish so from the database. This implies that an individual can request to delete or remove their personal data. But with existing blockchain networks, GDPR compliance can be difficult due to its tamper-free nature of recording transactions. Amidst such limitations of the public blockchain, RAYS Network offers a solution to be GDPR Compliant.\n\nHow is RAYS GDPR Compliant?\n\nRAYS network will implement digital identity feature which in addition to the public and the private key, allow each user to generate unique identity keys that are associated with personal data such as the name, age, nationality and address. The digital ID key involved in a transaction is not stored on the blockchain as opposed to the public key. Instead, the master node establishes a trusted connection between the sender and the receiver and as a result, the information is stored only temporarily in the local database and is deleted upon the completion of a transaction. In a nutshell, the digital identity feature allows RAYS network to be GDPR compliant by providing data privacy and control option to its users.\n\nIn the next series of articles, we will shed light on more features of the RAYS Network. Well, that's absolutely fine but doesn't help us today. \n\nA company can be successful in copying innovations from others and add something new to create an even better product. Alternatively, a company can define a new standard and stay progressive and will always be ahead of the competitors. RAYS Network will do precisely this with everything they already started. The holistic security approach combined with their flexible network system is top notch and unique in today's blockchain world.  \n\nYou could ask now, why would a Blockchain Project with a cryptocurrency do not concentrate on the security of their client's assets? Correct why wouldn't you? We are almost in the last quarter of 2018, and most projects still do not face the fact that their priority should be the security of their token or coins, which investors and customers bought. This is still an apparent fact, and I shake my head every time I search for at least a functional and secure wallet. There are projects which were hacked several times and still did nothing against it afterwards. However, before this little rant goes out of hand, I will return to the RAYS Network project which is the focus of this article. \n\nRAYS Network will have its first birthday soon, and in the short span of this first year, the team accomplished many goals. The release of the MVP is the most significant one. That's how it must feel for some of those hackers out there, who look at the cryptocurrency assets which are stored on exchanges and in dubious wallets. \n\nIn comparison to that Gold is handled completely different in our world. The Bank of England alone stores approximately 4600 tons of Gold at least 47 floors deep into the underground behind unbelievable thick doors and thousands of security systems. We can guess that only a few assets in the world are equally protected. Would anyone try to rob those precious Gold bars? Keep in mind that I'm still talking about the sum of 225.000.0000.000 $ which in part is stored save in vaults but the whole attitude and usage of large those amounts of money are not secure at all. For instance, if all the Bitcoin transactions were confidential and used Bulletproof instead of other proofs, the total size of the UTXO set would reduce from 17 GB to 160 GB. Hence, Bulletproof Protocol is logarithmically smaller as compared to other linear privacy protocols.\n\nBulletproofs are short interactive zero-knowledge proofs which does not require a trusted setup unlike SNARKs and rely only on the discreet logarithmic assumption. A verifier can be convinced that an encrypted plaintext is well formed. For example, the person verifying the transaction can convince a verifier that a confidential transaction is valid without revealing why that is the case, i.e. without leaking the transacted values.\n\nThe proof is designed in such a way that an efficient confidential transaction in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be enabled without revealing the actual transaction. It basically hides the amount transferred within the confidential transaction. There is a cryptographic proof in every confidential transaction which validates a transaction. Bulletproofs shrink the size of the cryptographic proof from over 10kB to less than 1kB. First is a public key or address for that currency or blockchain. Second is the private key which the user uses to unlock the wallet. User will never share his private key with anyone. If the user do so, the funds are lost. These two keys together however doesn’t ensure a privacy of Transaction as transaction is public and is not related to wallet. Now RAYS research team found it a bit problematic for the wallet holder and for enterprises. Suppose you are an employee and your boss is sending monthly sallary to 100s of its employees including you. No one wants that the sallary he/she is receiving should be public. There are 100s of such issues with existing blockchain. RAYS has a solution to this problem.\n\nSo what is the solution? The solution is in your RAYS wallet. All users will have three keys in RAYS system as follows:\n\n1) A Public Key to receive funds.\n\n2) A Private Key to access wallet\n\n3) An optional Digital ID to access the specific transaction.\n\n_**How will it work?**_\n\nIf a sender sends a transaction as a private, the receiver must enter a Digital ID to unlock the transaction. If a sender sends a transaction as public, the receiver does not need to enter the Digital ID. As a result of this, all activities performed on a public blockchain network are non-compliant to the rules set by such regulations. Blockchain networks such as Ethereum fail in these scenarios and may be violating the laws.\n\nIn this scenario, one may consider a blockchain network which is private or offers complete privacy. Doing so kills the essence of blockchain technology and is against the basic principles of this innovation.
